1:52 PM LST, Chancellery
Hauptstadt, Leistung
The desk had quite clearly seen better days. Its red mahogany top had been criss-crossed with countless scratches from the Chancellor’s pen, and the bottle of aspirin in the left corner spoke volumes about the nature of Chancellor Ringkampf’s work. Today seemed no different—the same stack of Academy applications, the same list of lobbyists and Canton dignitaries to meet with him, and the same stack of Bundestag proposals to be vetoed or accepted. The Chancellor picked the paper at the top of the Bundestag stack and signed it without a second thought, bumping the minimum wage down to an all-time low of $2.20. The next paper caught his eye, though, as it was stamped with the ODECON seal and signed by Evan Bachmeier, President of the Coalition and a good friend of the Chancellor’s.

NOTING the effect that The Ryou Black Islands have had on the Xanadou region, and the international community at large,
REALIZING that the time for words has long passed with a nation which has:
Supported piracy in its waters
Harbored pirates
Attacked without provocation ships of the East Congaree Merchant Marine
Begun wars of aggression with the nations of Roma V, Cypron, East Congaree, and several others
Attacked ships of the Royal Stevidian Navy, an ODECON member
DECLARES on the twenty-first of November, two thousand and eight, that a state of war now exists between The Ryou Black Islands and the combined nations of the Oceanic Defense Coalition.
-Signed,

Evan Bachmeier,
President of the Oceanic Defense Coalition
Only a few days ago, the Grestonian ambassador had compiled a list of grievances against the Ryou Black Islands, most notably that the Ryouese Empire was an open supporter of piracy. Allies in Stevid had also brought these concerns before ODECON, and it seemed as though their warnings had been heeded. The Chancellor picked up the phone on his desk immediately, dialing the Ministry of Defense down the street.
“Jan? Good morning to you as well,” he started, responding with casual kindness to the Minister of Defense’s reply. “Jan, has Evan sent you a copy of MA Proposal M-1A? Excellent. What are your thoughts on the matter—is Leistung prepared for a full-scale war?” The Chancellor waited for a moment with baited breath before the Minister Tirpitz gave him the answer he was waiting for. “Alright, Jan. Take all forces to DEFCON 2 and call up the reserves. Inform Bundesmarine Command that they should begin preparations to move out.” He hung up the phone and picked up the next piece of paper, signing it without a thought.
8:22 PM LST, Seebrise Naval Base
Seebrise, Leistung
Like the beasts of their namesake, another flight of B-198A (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13627900&postcount=462) Polar bombers lumbered off the runway, headed in the direction of the Ryou Black Islands. The ground reverberated beneath Reichsmarschall Charles Fuchs’ feet, and he turned from the window of the control tower to face the room of busy flight controllers in front of him. He walked briskly to the other side of the glass and steel room, nodding at a group of controllers as he passed them.
On the other side of the Naval Base, the lights of Seebrise’s naval flotilla as they refueled were visible, and even more lights from temporary Bundesheer camps could be seen further in the distance. The atmosphere around Seebrise was tense, and the autobahns leading into Seebrise were completely choked off with lines of reservists in troop trucks and sailors reporting in from shore leave. It had been years since Leistung had mobilized, and the war to come was likely to be one of the costliest in recent history. One thing was certain, however—when the time came, every Leistungi soldier would do his duty with distinction. There could be no acceptable outcome but complete and total victory.
8:43 PM LST, Fort Schneesturm
Northern Leistung
Like every other ODEFOR base across the globe, Fort Schneesturm was preparing for the imminent conflict. Men had been arriving all day via plane from various parts of the world, be it Greston, Kaydonia, or Kirav. When mobilized, they would form an international fighting force which served to highlight the amount of cooperation present between member-states of ODECON, as well as the fighting spirit of their armies.
Hans Fruehauf himself, the Supreme Military Overseer for ODECON, was present at Fort Schneesturm that November night, inspecting the newly arrived shipments of LY4A1 main battle tanks fresh from their assembly lines in Lyras. When the news came in that Proposal M-1A had passed, Fruehauf immediately boarded a plane back to ODECON Headquarters in Osterwieck, and was genuinely surprised to see two Leistungi FA 15 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=523062) Cardinal fighter planes flanking his private jet all the way there, a sure-fire sign that war was coming.
11:55 PM LST, ODECON Headquarters
Osterweick, Leistung
Fruehauf walked briskly down the hallways of the ODECON Headquarters building, an intricate marble building located in the center of the city of Osterweick. The building was actually deceiving, as the most important offices were located several meters underground, with the above-ground offices only being used in peacetime. Many of the Multilateral Authority members had never ventured underground before, and the cold stone walls did little to welcome them.
Fruehauf saluted a Stevidian soldier who stood guard outside a steel bulkhead door with the engraving, “Sir Alan West.” The bulky-looking man saluted back and stood aside, opening the door to Fruehauf. He walked inside, nodding at the Stevidian man behind an oak desk. Alan West was Fruehauf’s counterpart in ODECON; the head of the organization’s naval wing, while he lead the remainder of the military. The two men were good friends, despite the rivalry between their two branches, and Fruehauf was very interested in what the former Sea Lord thought about the imminent war in Xanadou.
“Guten Morgen, Alan,” he said, taking a seat in front of the man’s desk.
“Good morning, Hans. How was Fort Schneesturm?” The man flashed a small smile, pushing aside the stack of papers which seemed to be growing by the minute as aides walked in with new folders full of military release orders.
“Cold, my friend,” Hans replied. “There’s trouble in Xanadou, as it would seem. What are your thoughts on the matter?”
“We’ve dealt with Ryou and his ilk before, as have you,” West stated, as Hans nodded, remembering vividly the previous war against the Ryou Black Islands. “I have the fullest confidence that we will emerge victorious.” Hans nodded again in agreement.
“Those sentiments seem to be echoed in Hauptstadt. The Chancellor was quite eager to begin this war, as was the Defense Minister,” Hans said, with an indiscernible look on his face. He too was eager to take out the threat looming in Xanadou once and for all, but as a military man, he feared for the safety of his troops. With another nod, Hans walked out of the room and back to his own office to contact his fellow military leaders in each of ODECON’s member-states.
OOC: Alright, as the title says, this war is semi-closed. Anyone who wants to enter in on the side of ODECON will have to contact me, and vice-versa with Ryou. There shall be no solely OOC comments or bumps on this thread, under any circumstances.
This war has been extensively pre-planned, and I'd very much appreciate everyone respecting my authority as the OP and Ryou's authority as the invadee.
And no, Ryou is no longer ignoring us.

The Ryou Black Islands
22-11-2008, 03:05
When ODECON declared war, it was now to be their last. The Ryouese had planned for a attack and has a very fortified nation and Capital.
In Shai, AA Defenses were being set up along with Artillery, ready for the fight against the Invaders when they came. The Force in Shai was soon upped to 500,000 Marines
To Build up a force to take down The Invaders, a Draft was called for all persons 18 to 50. The Imperial Marines (Which is more of all Branches merged into one Branch) was to be ready to drive the Invaders into the sea and to make sure that the Invasion would be so Bloody, the Invaders would be forced to leave The Islands alone.
Even though The Vamperial Kingdom of Lynion wasn't part of ODECON, it was very concerned about the safety for The Vamperial Colony of Lynx Island and the fact the League of Wolves HQ were stationed on Lynx Island. High King Vamp gave the green light for the League of Assassins to wage war against The Black Ryou Islands. Taking command of the Lynion Forces was Grand League Master Rathma Phoenix. His second in command was Vamperial Headmaster Tal Rasha and together, they were going to take an entire three divisions of Combine Armies (eg: infantry, armour, hospital, medics etcra rolled into a Combine Army) which numbered close to 60,000. About 20,000 were medics, doctors, nurses, suppliers, drivers, ammo runners and other non-combatant jobs.
The remaining 40,000 were divided into the League of Assassins and the dark Hunters. Armour support was expected to be around 300 Lynx Battle Tanks. Infantry was around 20,000 and the remaining 20,000 were involved with Spec Ops, artillery, engineers, radio operators and spotters. Only 500 elite Lynion Assassins were taking part in the operation.
"Where's that blasted report?" demanded Rathma as he pass by the bridge of the heavy cruiser.
"We got 60,000 battle ready along with their equipment. An extra 300,000 are being trained and equipped and will e actting as our reinforcements," started Tal Rasha as he handed Rathma the report.
"So we'll be dispatching 360,000 ground forces and then we have our air force bases, our naval task forces on standby," started Rathma. "What are we getting from Union and Lynion?"
"1,030,500 soldiers, sailors and airmen," replied Tal Rasha as they came to the end of the cruiser. "We'll expect them in Lynx within a week at the latest. Would we be taking part in the actual invasion?"
"We don't know yet," answered Rathma. "We need our boys to be ready to leave within a days time at the latest. In the mean time, dispatch a destroyer and keep an eye out for the ODECON Forces,"
"Will be done," finished Tal Rasha.
Kartika, Great Kirav, Kiravian Empire
Supreme General Sendar Wōdlin and Emperor Seawind were sitting in the Green Room of Krovenirene Castra. Both were nervously sipping tea, waiting for the important telegram to arrive.
"Sèr General? Sèr Emperor? Delegate Tüven has sent a message from ODECON."
"Finally! It's here!" exclaimed Wōdlin.
Emperor Seawind thanked the page, took the creamy envelope, and revealed the ODECON declaration of war inside.
"General Wōdlin?"
"Aye, sir?"
"It's showtime."
Ever since the Bloody Sunday War, the Kiravian Empire had detested the Posthatarian archipelago. Relations had thawed slightly at various points, but something always happened to make the Imperial government freeze them back up.
As it seemed, the Ryouese were ultranationalist barracudas. They banded together and blew their lives and fortunes on enlistments and war bonds whenever their government claimed that there were Nazis somewhere in the world bent on killing them. But when left to be, they would collapse into disorder and civil war. Kiravians found it mind-boggling that the Ryouese could trust a government that seemed to perish in flame and blood every year or so, when they themselves barely trusted the civilocracy that had served them well for centuries.
And so, the ODECON Declaration of War, to which the KE, as a member, was privy, was passively welcomed in Kirav. Getting the Senate to fund a war that would pluck the Ryouese thorn out of Kiravia's side would take little effort, and, hopefully, the world would be better off because of it.
Senate Building, Sasha, Greal
2:30 PM
"All in favor of war, by show of hands." said the Senate majority leader, Alexander Gross.
Most of the senators were in favor. Many rose their hands. Vice President Frank Jackson beamed and walked off. Martin would get his war. The resolution passed 401-48, with one senator abstaining. Jackson quickly walked over to his limo and was driven over to the Military headquarters.
Military Headquarters, Sasha, Greal
3:45 PM
"Gentlemen. The war resolution has been passed. I want the reserves mobilized, and DEFCON 2 activated." said Jackson calmly, he had no doubt the resolution would pass. Many people in Greal despised the Ryou Black Islands."This will be the greatest force Greal has ever sent overseas. There can be no problems. I want coordination between everyone, if this invasion is going to work."
All the admirals and generals nodded, Jackson continued speaking,"General Sert has been given command of all Greali military forces. Admiral Turner will be in command of the Greali naval task force. Any questions?"
"Mr. Vice President, we do expect some kind of screw up during the invasion. There are more then a dozen nations participating." said Admiral Turner.
"Admiral, that is why we have to coordinate." said Jackson, he turned to General Sert, "How many days before your force can leave port?"
"Probably the day after tomorrow. Organizing millions of men is not very easy." said Sert.
"It never is. Now, lets continue." (Discusses tactics)

Sur Abruzzi
22-11-2008, 05:02
9:00 PM EST- Abruzzian Capital
War Room
5 Star General Joseph Rielly was sitting in the Prime Minister's chair going over the war plans. When Prime Minister Talon Abruzzo had approached him with the task of planning Sur Abruzzi's part of the ODECON war, the biggest operation that will ever be undertaken by the nation in support of their allies, he spent hours going over even the smallest details. There was no way he would let his country, his Prime Minister, or Defense Secretary James Prescott down.
"General," spoke up Secretary Prescott, "Admiral Burr reports that the Navy has begun fueling and pulling capable ships out of port."
"Good, good. I expect to be hearing from the Air Force at any moment," General Reilly responded. "Any word on when the Prime Minister will be joining us Mr. Secretary?"
"As soon as the Congress passes the Declaration of War General, which should be any moment now..." the Defense Secretary replied while looking at his watch.
"General," an un-named Captain spoke as he approached the General's left side, "the Air Force reports that all strategic air bases have been given the orders. The bombers and the fighters are lifting off now."
"Excellent, everything is falling into place. Thank you Captain," General Rielly spoke as he reclined back in the chair. Watching the War Room bustling he remembered why he joined the military. War was coming.
9:05 PM EST- Abruzzian Strategic Air Bases Around the World
It was the same sight at all the bases under Sur Abruzzi's control; Da-34, B-209A, and B-92 bombers rumbling into the night sky accompanied by their assigned escorts of SiK-7S and MiG-40 fighters. The largest air force power projection in Abruzzian history was taking place, and whatever poor soul these bombers munitions were intended for would soon be shaking in their boots.
9:30 PM EST- Abruzzian Capitol
War Room
Prime Minister Talon Abruzzo entered the room with the movement of a supremely confident man. The Declaration of War against the Ryou Black Islands and in support of their allies from ODECON had passed with not a single "nay" vote being cast in both Houses of Congress. The vote outcome was unexpected, but this gave the Prime Minister relief in that, if the Congress could see the importance of the mission, then maybe in fact God's will may be om their side.
"General," Abruzzo boomed so loud that even the war-harden man in Gen. Rielly leapt from the chair, "First, get out of my chair. Second, the Congress passed the Declaration."
"That is wonderful Mr. Prime Minister," Defense Secretary Prescott chimed in.
"Indeed it is, James, but now," as Talon took his seat at the front of the table, "let us begin this war."

FROM: Vamperial Colony of Lynx, Vamperial Headmaster Sherman and League Grand master Rathma
I've heard that we have applied for a position in the ODECON and we haven't heard back. Therefore, if possible, The Vamperial Kingdom would like to prove itself of its capabilities and ability to become part of ODECON by assisting you in the Invasion of Ryous Black Islands. The other main reason is due to the security of the Vamperial Colony of Lynx.
We'll be able to provide a forward base of operations for ODECON and its allies, we have a large air force numbering close to 400 aircraft on standby with an additional 100 in for repairs and maintance, we have naval bases that can be used for the invaders and we can commit 60,000 ground forces. we can have an additional 300,000 on standby by tomorrow and in a weeks time, an extra million strong force will be arriving in Lynx to be used as reinforcements. We have at least 150 warships on standby and 50 support ships ready to be used. We're expecting more to come from Univax Colony within three days at the latest.
We feel that if we can prove ourselves in the upcoming battle, we might be able to join ODECON and become part of the Coalition/Alliance. We understand if you denie us to be part of the invasion of The Ryoues Black Islands. Just as long we see their government fall.

The Ryou Black Islands
23-11-2008, 03:41
Shai, The Ryou Black Islands.
It was decided that The Invasion had to be stop before it reached Xanadou and the islands. So The Military High Command decided that all Threats had to be stopped.
Like Lynx Island.
the island was a threat that had to be crushed, a Thorn on The side of all that was good, a dagger at the heart of the Empire.
The Ryouese had to take out that Island before it could be used by The ODECON horde. So It was planned for a Invasion of Lynx Island, after a Air Attack, to end The Threat of Lynx Island and drive The Vamperial League from Xanadou.
To do this, the Ryouese planned to start a Air Campaign against Lynx Island, To weeken The Defense and to destroy The enemy Air force. then this would be fallowed b a Invasion.
It was being planned.
"SIR!" shouted a runner as he ran through the League of Wolves hallways.
The runner dashed past several operatives before he finally came across the main chambers. The doors were closed the guards were stating that the Headmasters were giving a report to the Vamperial Order. The runner demanded to be let in stating it was for the greater good of the colony. The guards opened the door and the runner burst into the chambers.
"What is the meaning of this?" demanded Rathma.
"Sir! Satelite images have shown Ryou forces building up and about to head towards us!" shouted the runner.
"What?"
"Blast, we'll be outnumbered on this one and outgunned," stated Sherman. "Whats the status from Union and Lynion?"
"They just heard about the situation and have dispatch two armada's," explained the runner.
"Sir!" shouted another runner as he entered the chambers. "Two Imperial Australian Fleets, several transport ships and several fleets from Univax have arrived,"
"Position them in battle formation around the island, inform Alpha Gunners to be on Code Red and prepare for an invasion," ordered Sherman as Rathma left to lead his men into battle.

New Greston
23-11-2008, 04:32
9:57 AM GST, Shikotan Island
Kuril Islands, East Congaree
Hundreds of feet away the barrels of Browning M2HB 50 cal. heavy machine guns were starting to smoke as they would lay waste to lines and lines of Ryouese Marines at a time. In silence more paratroopers, 390 to be exact, were droppped in their landing zone; right off the coast in the clear, shallow water next to the coast. Almost in unison the 390 soldiers unsnapped their parachutes and let the current pull it away. They started to wade towards their coast as they took the plastic bags off of their guns. These men were organized in coloumns by the weapon they beared.
The soldiers with the Benelli M4 heavy shotguns were mixed in the centre with the standard troops, armed with AK-104's. To their leftern flank, where there was a slight slope in hilly forest, the soldiers were armed with L85A1's with SUSAT sight. The L85A1's were amazing weapons and were very useful in surpressing enemy troops as the allied soldiers would reposition. To the right flank in a small valley curve there were the soldiers carry their RPD and Ultimax 100 light machine guns against their chest. They Ultimax 100 light machine gun was comparable to that of the weapons be shown off on the other side of the enemy, they would be very useful in pumping lead into any enemy's chest. The light machine guns were surrounded by Lewis AMR's and SKS semi-automatic carbines. Lewis AMR's, commonly called Lewis Guns by the standards, were in the shap and size of and RPG but shot large bullet casings that, on impact, would explode and release many more rounds of small bullet casings.
The rest began to set up and load and prepare for a bloody battle as the soldiers armed with the M60 7.62 mm general purpose machine guns and M249 SAW Paras began to inch closer to the enemy lines, all the while hiding in the illuminating shadow of the thick forest. Mosin-Nagant rifles started to go off behind them as their companions started to attempt to weaken the lines of enemy soldiers.
As the commander screamed orders to his soldiers, he voice was blanked out by a defening roar of the nostalgic air fleet above. It had grown, the reason behind that was because it was the second wave of bombers. They were designated the widow makers and their job was to bomb the valley in between the two sides of Grestonian Infantry. As the second wave left, they tore away the ground below with their Mk-82 class bombs, a 500 lb pound which, 80 of which was packed into the Bomb Rack Assembly. Following the Mk-82s would be 750 pound CBU class bombs, 36 of them from every bomber there. They would tear apart and burn much more than the 500 pound bombs would.
As this was being done crates of MG42's, an old Nazi squad automatic weapon that was still used in present, and their ammunition were being air dropped into the forest and into the mountain side to try to help arm the Congaree civilians.
This was carried out as, in a small distance, a third air fleet, the third wave of the attack, was soaring towards the fleet. In the effort of taking out the Ryouese foothold the third wave was comprised of B9N3-K torpedo bombers. The B5N3-K was a modernized, Grestonian version of the B5N torpedo bomber used in the late WWII area. They would start a nose dive towards the water in front of the surface fleet than empty their Bomb Rack Assembly into the clear water. From there the propellers on the bombs were start up and turn them into a type of torpedo which would whirl until it compacted the side of the Ryouese ships.
Following them were around thirty BAE HERTI unmanned air vehichle (UAV) regarded as the "Furies" which were folded in as part of the third wave. Their mission on a standard basis was to conduct acts of espionage and standard warfare. However, in this battle they were being used as dive bombers. They would dive directly at the enemy ships and shortly before arrival they would release their 150 kilogram payload. This technique would cause the anti-aircraft weapons on the ships to be almost obsolete.
As the bombs and payloads were being released upon the fleet, hundreds of F-15E Strike Eagle attack aircrafts came swooping in. As they would come into the deck level of the ship they would release thousands of casings of bullets from the gatling guns on either side of the chest of the air craft. As they would reach closer they would release the missiles on BRA then soar back up as the pilots behind them would do the same.
The air fleets began to pull away and combat the air presence of the Ryouese that were grounded from the massive bombings. With the amount of bombs going off upon the Ryouese it was impossible for them to deploy any more air crafts from the ships or the ships to attack the air crafts above.
As the planes slowly went to higher altitudes the sky was blotted out by a massive amount of Moskits and other AShM's raining down upon the fleet from hundreds of Seastabber-class battleships, Hermin-class cruisers, and Irondeck-class battleships. An amount of 10,000 moskits had been deployed already and a second volley of that much was begining to be thrown out.
"Ah, the glory of battle," said Commodore Michael Severe looking through the glass port of the CO Cabin on the GMNS Majesty. He had his back to Air Captain William Fritage, the Commondeer of the Air Fleets, and Field Marshal Thomas Onsdall, the coordinator of the land battle that was commencing. The were all meeting on board his ship, his prized possesion.
On board a iron table in the center of the room was a massive map of the area, upun were numerous markings for all of the movements of troops, both enemy, allied, and Grestonian.
"In half an hour we should be able to push the remainder of the Ryouese troops off of the island and out of the Okhostk Sea."
11:55 PM GST, Skies Above Ryouese Comoros
Comoros, Mozambique Channel
All noise was blanked out by the defening roar of the nostalgic air fleet above. Thousands upon thousands of bombers were forming around the island with their deadly payloads rearing to be dropped upon the heads of the yellow enemy.
It was a logistical attack, hundreds of planes of the Colonial Madagascarian Air Force had manuevered to the east and north of the Comoros. They were comprised of B2 Bombers and B-1 Lancers. Ominiously they dragged foward, their targets were military bases, air fields, ports, and storage depots. As the coast came into view the payloads were set on standby.
A nostalgic, uniform click from the ordanance being shifted was heard in every one of the crafts. There was little to no naval or air force assets owned by the Ryouese on the islands due to the massive deployment to the Congaree Kurils, Red Sea, and East Asia. It was the first bombing group's, designated the "Breathe Takers", job to ground any remaining air combatants owned by the enemy.
The second wave, the "Back Breakers" would target military structures, power plants, and major roadways.
The third wave, the "Widow Makers", obviously the most deadly, would target cities directly with napalm, cluster munitions, high explosive ordnance and even fuel air bombs..this would make it painfully clear to the Ryouese government that occupation was not the aim of the Imperial Republic rather that the hostilities made by the Ryouese would not be taken lightly. As they dropped their ordanance upon the deathly earth the dull roar of jet engines fell softly on the sea below as more than fifty high altitude B2 stealth bombers and five GL-113 Ankirat heavy bombers along with other strike craft and fighter escort roared towards the small Ryouese colony.
The GL-113 Ankirats lined up their bombardier crosshairs and let loose dropping their massive payloads a mix of high explosives and bunker busting capable bombs on airfield runways and hangers and an assortment of military structures below
At the same time dozens of F15-E Strike eagles soared down targeting Anti-Air defenses, communication networks and soft military targets, tattering anything and everything in their cross hairs.
As quickly as the attacks had occurred suddenly they stopped as the second wave withdrew…only to be followed shortly by another series of explosions as now the sea sprang to life as a salvo of cruise missiles streaked across the sky obliterating their targets shortly thereafter.
Ships moored at anchor or getting underway soon found themselves too under attack as missiles streaked in just above the waterline slamming into the ships tearing gaping holes. The planes and Grestonian Naval Crafts engulfed and surrounded the island, ready to completely obliberate the island. They used the current coming from the coast of Mayotte to slam into the second island head first, leaving a similar trail of carnage. The first two islands were being swarmed with air crafts and missiles.
From the Western two islands all seemed quiet. Were the civilians or Colonial Ryouese Government to look out their windows they would see massive flames growing larger on their two neighboring islands. But soon they would not have enough time to gaze out the window. As missiles were landing on the Anjuoan and Mayotte coast, soldiers were landing on the Grand Comore and Moheli islands.
This group was deployed from Tanzania and Mozam Bique, they were leaving similar carnage as both homeland based missiles and cruise missiles from the fleet landed. As they were crushing the sides two more task forces were coming from the North and South. It was hoped and assumed that there would be no need for them and that the initial attack would help.
11:59 GCST, Faroe
Union Grestonian Colony, Xanadou
Numerous parades were under process as the bands thundered and crowds cheered. Sir Finlay Winston Lawrence found himself staring out the giant windows to the back of the Union Grestonian Capital Building. Upon the air field that was only some 700 feet from the perimeter of the building F-15E Strike Eagle attack air crafts were launching with a thunderous roar from the engines.
"Well, Cam, the Government sure is using this colony," said Sir Finlay W. Lawrence, directed to the Native Chairperson Cameron Bradley, who was on the other side of the pure mahogany desk littered with pens and important governmental papers.
The Chairperson continued gazing out the clear glass window. More engines were roaring and soon, as they would soar over head, the entire building would shake more violently than normal.
"I just love watching the instruments of war preparing to do something they will regret for the rest of their life," the man gazed off, at the ceiling, at the book shelves, at the planes.
The air crafts began to form a spear head shape as they gathering thousands of feet in the air. They were getting ready to welcome the ODEFLE and ODECON fleets to the Xanadou region. While doing so, a large section of the fighter squadron broke off and accompanied twenty B-1B Lancers. They were assigned to strike the nearest Ryouese port than retreat. This was only a few of the pre-emptive strikes that the Grestonian government had coordinated while working in cooperation with the Leistung government in the coordinance the war.
They neared the port and the first thing that came into sight was a massive amount of naval weapons stockpiling. The fighters and bombers began to close in, while doing so they blew their cover and awaited with heavy tension for the AA Cannon Flak. They began launch their long ranch missiles, they would eventually produce a small explosion on the targetted port.
They closed in and were able to see an air field filled with attack crafts ready to rearing for war. It was not a good sign. They began to let loose numerous ordanances upon the boats and ports. The flames would soon rise and engulf the crews of the ships and the port workers.
The Blub Colony
23-11-2008, 05:09
It would seem the Blubs were on the warpath. Already engaged in the opening stages of a two front war with HuTianDi and Battlehawk, this whole ruckus with Ryou had been presented to the High Command of Blubland Department of the Military.
The BDoM had deliberated for hours about the proper course of action.
Camp Spear, Blubland
Due to the Camp's high altitude and distance from civilization, it made a rather convient place to secretly assemble a taskforce. Normally the home of the 1st Cavalry Division, Camp Spear had as of lately been swarmed with buses, trains and airplanes delivering thousands of troops.
Sitting on the tarmac at the massive military airbase were hundreds of C-181 Starlifters (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12806151&postcount=35) with their engines on idle standby. Connected to the rear of each Starlifter by a 200 yard length of cable were Raven assault gliders. The Ravens were built from polymer and fabric to reduce their RADAR returns and to make them lightweight.
All across the airfield, columns of paratroops in their heavy gear waddled up ramps into the backs of the C-181s and the Ravens. Equipment had already been loaded on in the form of IFVs, AAA/SAMs and the notorious M5 Light Blub Tank.
The steady rumble of troops in cadence could be heard over it all,
Airbooooorne!
Airboooorne!
Rangaaaah!

Deep in the battlefield covered in blood!

Rangaaaah!
Rangaaaah!
One by one the Starlifters were taxing to runways and taking off. They circled overhead as others joined them, forming great formations across the sky. The heavy thrumming of thousands of propellers were joined by the roars of jet engines as fighters took up overwatch.
Once most were in the air the cloud of transports towing gliders turned north-east and winged out over the ocean. Along the way they would be joining three similar formations, the largest group of air transports and gliders to take to the sky in history, eclipsing even the landings in Normandy during WWII.
800km from Ryou
To the militaries gathering in the region, they no doubt would be nervous when their RADARs picked up something .. amazing. A formation of aircraft at 15,000 feet. Over ten miles wide and ten miles deep, thousands of aircraft closing in on the Ryou Islands.
Blubland had never been very far from the Ryou Islands, and it wasn't long before the formation was under a thousand kilometers from Ryou and closing in fast. A mixture of C-181s, C-130s C-141s, gliders and of course the Blubland Colonial Air Force. Clusters of AWACs, ECM aircraft and controllers moving with a purpose, overseeing the complex coordination of transports, gliders, tanker aircraft and their escorting fighter cover.

12:03 AM LST, Choco Flight
Skies above Xanadou
“Choco flight, this is Command, requesting that you change your course to one-nine-zero, proceed north to attack anti-air batteries of the Revolutionary Marines, over.” A familiar voice cracked over Lieutenant Ackermann’s radio, and he responded in the same way he always had, and always would.
“Roger wilco, Command. Choco one over and out.” Ackermann contacted his wingmen and with a firm grip on the stick, tilted it right, bringing the plane into a roll. His FA 16 Priest had been one of the first planes to lift off the runway at Seebrise Naval Base, and Choco flight (a SEAD unit consisting of twelve planes) was currently poised to be the first Leistungi unit to breach Ryouese borders.
Ackermann peered out his glass cockpit to the sea below, teeming with life. Choco flight, like dozens of other Lesitungi SEAD units en route to Shai Island, was flying low to the surface of the Earth—coupled with the Priest’s stealthy nature, low enough to be undetectable on most radars. They were also armed to the teeth with six “Ferret” anti-radiation missiles, and each pilot had been ordered not to return with a single unused munition.
“Ah, Choco flight, this is Big Brother. You’re about four minutes away from the first known radar site, over.” The voice of Choco flight’s AWACS pilot came over Ackermann’s radio, and he spoke clearly into his headset in response.
“Roger that, Big Brother. Keep us informed,” he replied, noticing that a number of blips had appeared at extreme range on his scope. “Ah, Big Brother, would the blips I’m seeing right now be our target?” There was a pause before the AWACS pilot came back over the radio.
“Yeah, that’s affirmative, Choco one. Targets at range are likely part of a ground-based anti-aircraft position; stay sharp.”
Ackermann glanced down at his radar scope again a few moments later, mentally taking down the range of the targets. Forty kilometers was well within range of his plane’s ARMs, and he flicked three switches, arming three of them.
“Choco two, Choco three, this is Choco leader,” he said over the radio. “I’m going in for a run on Ryouese anti-aircraft position, cover my six.”
“Roger wilco. Choco two moving into position.”
“Choco three moving into position.”
Ackermann flicked the cover off of the FIRE button on the joystick and pressed it once, then again and again, cycling through targets quickly in an effort to hit each of the SAM’s radar signatures. “Choco one, Fox two. Fox two. Fox two.”
12:38 AM LST, Kampfgruppe VIII
Nobalian Sea, Leistung
Admiral Greer lowered the binoculars from his eyes, breaking away from his view of the other Lesitungi Kampfgruppes en route to the Ryou Black Islands. His men seemed to be falling behind. “All ahead full,” he said gruffly, tapping the engineering officer on the shoulder impatiently.
The majority of the Bundesmarine had put out to sea on that November morning, and though darkness still blanketed the seas around Leistung, more and more ships set off from Hafenstadt to join up with the reforming battlegroups (Kampfgruppe's). As hunter-killer groups, each Kampfgruppe was tasked with destroying a portion of the Ryouese Navy—a task which Admiral Greer both relished and feared.
The fleet was still several hours away from Xanadou, though the atmosphere on-board the vessels of Kampfgruppe VIII was already tense. Most of the men had had at least some combat experience, but it had been years since the Federal Republic had undertaken such a daring attack, and each and every sailor was nervous, whether they admitted it or not. All that was left to do for the men of the Bundesmarine was to wait until their ships hit Ryouese waters.

I sincerely thank you for your service in defense of our cause. As to the situation on Lynx Island, there is little our forces can do, though you can rest assured that our bombers are en route to the Ryou Black Islands as we speak, and they will personally make sure that any planes attacking your colony have no place left to land.
Be strong, noble allies!
Sincerely,

ENCRYPTION: Heavy
TO: Office of the President, Federal Republic of Leistung
FROM: Vamperial Colony of Lynx, Vamperial Headmaster Sherman
This has bought some relief to our boys. As we're speaking, we're planning an offensive to invade Ryou Islands to avoid our island from being invaded. In return for your efforts, Lynx Island can be used as a forward operation against the Ryoues. We are like a horn against their pathetic empire.

To: Vamperial Colony of Lynx
From: Allied States of New Kereptica
Concerning: Aid
In the face of the impending of your island by the Ryou Black Islands, and taking into account the importance of a forward staging point, a job Lynx could well fulfill, the Allied States of New Kereptica has decided to become directly involved, through the Ocean Defense Coalition, in the invasion of the Ryou Black Islands. Our first action in this conflict will be to send the Kereptecean Navy Fleets 2-11, in hope that they will be able to intercept the Ryou invasion of Lynx.
Signed,

The docks were in chaos. All around the country, every naval base was working around the clock to make the Lynx Defense Flotilla sea-worthy before the critical departure time, after which interception of the Ryou invasion would be impossible.
This is not to say however, that the Peninsula had been unprepared for war. A slow recall of semi-active seamen and navy pilots into complete active duty had been going on for several weeks. A refit of the seldom used ships had been going on for over 10 days, and the progress had been immense. The problem was, that no-one had anticipated the Lynx invasion. Everyone in a command position had thought that the navy would have several more weeks before a departure would be necessary, and so the refit of the forces had been slow.
Admiral Franz Hammand, Chair of the Inter-fleet Congress, the commanding body of the Lynx Defense Flotilla, comprised of the 10 Fleet Commanders of the 10 fleets that had been called into the defense of Lynx, sat at his desk aboard the NKN Canutkea.
He picked up the phone, dialing the number of the man he had delegated the responsibility of overseeing the overall progress of the mobilization.
"Admiral Gerard, how long do we have?"
"10 hours at a maximum, Admiral. That's 4 hours ahead of schedule."
"Good Gerard. That's very good. Carry on."
"Thank you Admiral." replied Gerard, as he hung up.

It is with grave concern that I note nations intended to force themselves into the path of the forces for good.
To these nations, I issue a plea. A plea that they do not waste the lives of their own men- and women-at-arms, that they do not waste mine. It is with confusion that I ask them to explain their reasons behind this most perplexing of conundrums.
Ryou has oft proven itself a hazard on the world stage; it's leadership, growing ever more psychotic by each regime "change", has attacked allies of Adenia, of ODECON, has actively pursued piratical policies, including the arming of merchant ships with a declared intent of attacking merchant marine shipping, and open government support of "businesses" involving armed "merchant" vessels, run by an unconfirmed ex-pirate.
Following ODECON declarations, it is with a sombre mood that I must confirm the ratification of the 22nd November 2008 bill, as signed by Bachmeier, declaring that a state of war exists between the Ryou Black Islands and The Commonwealth of Brittanican Adenia. This nation no longer accepts the government of the Black Islands to be legitimate, and is immediately enacting physical sanctions in accordance with the ODECON decree.
This situation has always been entirely avoidable. We wish to express our most sincere regrets that it has come thusfar, and wish to retain the ability to extend the hand of friendship toward all nations.
As a final note, the approach of the holiday season signals a time of great celebration in Adenia. As is customary, we seek a ceasefire for the 24 hours of the 25th of December, in accordance with Adenian tradition, to allow our troops their customary celebrations. On this day of the birth of Our Lord, the absence of troops from their families is a stressful and upsetting time, and we wish for friendship and goodwill to prevail. Adenia has never suffered a casualty or fatality in wartime on Christmas Day, and we should like this to continue. Any soldier wishing to join in our celebrations is quite welcome; we customarily hold a football, or soccer, match, along with carol-singing on open frequencies and religious services.
We wish all parties our most gracious wishes, and trust that they will see the light.
With Sombre Regards,

The 13 Sango-12s of Dark Knight Flight were heading for the enemy Planes.........once they found them of coarse.

Admiral Hammond was dosing in his chair when he received the call. The shrill ring of the telephone on his desk jerked him from his sleep, resulting in him almost falling from his chair. Shaking, he reached for the handset.
"Admiral Hammond, chair of IFT for the Lynx Defense Flotilla. Who is this?"
"Admiral Gerard sir. Reporting."
"Yes Admiral?"
"Its done sir. The crates of supplies are being loaded onto the Defenders right now."
"Good. Once everything is done, have all the respective Carrier Group commanders report to me. I'll give the go ahead once every thing's done."
"Yes sir."
With that, Hammond hung up the phone. He stood, surveying the bright harbor from the large windows of his office. He could see that the frantic movement that had been present just a few hours ago was gone. He returned to his chair, and fell back into a sleep.
An hour and a half later, his phone again rang.
"Admiral Hammond. Who's this?"
"Geoffry Algast, 5th Fleet, Battle Group Omicron commander."
"Ah. Of course. Progress report?"
"Everything is accounted for. Ready for immediate departure."
"Good. Once everyone else checks in I'll issue the order to depart."
"Sir."
He received 99 calls just like that, one from each of the carrier group commanders of the Lynx Defense Flotilla. By the time they were over, he was exhausted, yet also exhilarated. Once again, he called Gerard. He issued the order to depart. With this last duty of the night finished, he returned to his quarters.
All over the Peninsula, in almost every harbor, the roar of a thousand ship's engines sputtering to life filled the air. In a few hours, the Flotilla had met up and cleared the Baltic. In transport formation now, they prepared for war.
2:00AM (Stevidian Standard Time) Stevidian Cabinet War Rooms
“We’re here because the emergency Parliamentary session bill Fawkes has been passed with a 20% majority. The house and the Holy Empire has officially sided with OCEDON in the Ryouese war declaration. Prime Minister Conroy said to the heads of the military and his cabinet. “As of today… this country is a war”
Faces were grim not but not quite as grim as they had been in the past several years, Stevid had been through worse situations before, the Golden Throne banging on its door for one and Kanami knock on the garden door. Both threats had been seen off and both were progressing towards ultimate peace. However Ryou was ironically different because it was happening the other way round. After adopting Ryou as a dominion in the Holy Empire the economy subsequently suffered heavily from Ryouese foreign policy with was grudgingly left intact after the Imperial expansion. The Empire retreated from Ryou to try and regain its economic strength, in the process Ryou was left fuming at Parliament’s decision and vowed for future revenge. MI6 had known for over a year that Ryou had been eyeing up the Hanover Islands and had also been probing anti-piracy patrols in Xanadou. This was the last straw and only a month or so ago Stevid had opened fire on a Ryouese frigate suspected of providing cover for fleeing pirates. Ryou was an open supporter of piracy, self confessed and rolling around in the riches that such activities brought. Ryouese economics were straight forward to understand, they didn’t exist. Up to a year ago Ryou’s economy was so bad after having fought a civil war and three international wars that it was laughable, piracy was an easy source of income and soon their government had given into the last of their morals and the one thing they were still respected for crumbled beneath them. Piracy is Stevid’s greatest threat and supporters of piracy are dealt with harshly and it is a notion such as that that managed to the bill passed in Parliament anyway.
“Status of the Empire? Conroy ask the Foreign Secretary.
“Kurona hasn’t gotten back to us but it is safe to say they will remain neutral in this conflict. However the Imperial Oil & Gas works that have rigs in or near Kuronan waters have asked for addition protection against enemy attacks. Adaptus Astrates will pledge political support and economic where it maybe needed but military support is unlikely, ODECON is declaring war and we have advised the Empire not to exacerbate an already hostile situation.”
“What of the Hanover islands? Conroy probed again.
“Due to the recent elections in Kanami and also our agreement to allow them to have troops and planes present on mainland isle as a gesture of good will means that the islands themselves are not heavily garrisoned but elements of the 18th Imperial Colonial Protection Fleet (ICPF) are in the area with a small carrier, cruiser and several escorts. The garrison of troops and armour is quite small but aircraft number around 20 bombers and 70 fighters.”
“Our bombers can attack the Ryouese mainland so their colonies won’t be a problem however Ryou is out of combat range for our fighters and fighter bombers.” The Chief Air Marshall interjected. “Our ground based bombers here in Stevid and in our other colonies are also quite capable of striking Ryouese territory. But we will be relying on ODECON and Royal Navy air support for our bombers while in enemy airspace.”
“The Fleet Air Arm (FAA) will of course provide all the cover the RAF needs for continued bombing operations.” The First Sea Lord said picking up where the RAFC left off. “Our plan is co entwined with ODECONs, Ryou knows the raw power we possess as a naval superpower. The Fleet Air Arm alone is more than capable of coping and crippling their standard air force and their fleet air arm let alone any ships they have in the water. No, no, plans have already been made for the usage of our navy and marines. The war at sea is a charge we will be leading, amphibious assault are also going to be spearheaded by the Royal Marines- the Navy is key to several successes but we won’t be going alone, ODEFLE is prepared too and we have a small task force dedicated to ODEFLE fleet commanders as well as our own independent fleets.”
The topics continued long into the morning until lunchtime. While the politicians and tacticians debated the specifics of the war efforts and plans, the civil service and lower members of military top brass were burning the midnight oil in preparation for the attack on the Ryouese homeland.
10:00AM Portsmouth Naval Base- South Stevid
The largest naval port in Stevid was bustling with activity and the news why was quickly spreading across the Interlink and the Empire. The declaration of war on Ryou was every wife’s nightmare, every child’s imagination and every soldier’s, sailor’s and pilot’s job. Million and millions of military service men and women were going to war with an enemy the country used to called friend.
Many knew the Ryouese/Stevidian friendship wouldn’t last, Stevid was not the communist state it once was and no matter how much the old regime mirrored the Ryouese one, it never made the alliance work. On the contrary, the Stevidian Communist Party was ousted by the electoral vote of the population in the first general election since the communist government took over in the 60s- communism was no longer supported and now the left of centre parties had control in Stevid and the far right had by correlation a lot more support than the far left. Ryou used to be a friend and an ally but never a close one; the political alignments were just far too different. Ryou bordered and genocidal lunacy while Stevid was an open, imperialist, but hypocritical, democracy.
Elements of several fleets were being massed from all over Stevid and the Empire but Portsmouth was the main base of naval operations and was launching the most vessels in the combat fray. Xanadou was a fair distance away and Ryou would have the upper hand for the first week of the war. But by the time the mechanical cogs of the military juggernaughts of ODECON started to move then Ryou would be on the back foot.
Stevid was one of the furthest nations from Xanadou in ODECON along with Independent Hitmen, two real military powerhouses both capable of taking on Ryou single handed. But the distance again gave Ryou the advantage of time, and word had already reached the military top brass and other commanders in Stevid and in ODECON about Ryou’s first moves in the opening day of Operation Fawkes. Lynx Island was owned by Lynion and had a large military presence as well during the military build up for the war. Already allied secret service agents and satellite data-feeds were showing that an attack on Lynx Islands was very probable. There was little the Holy Empire could do other than hope that Lynx Island could weather the storm. Hanover was too close to Xanadou (2 days by sea to Ryou) to leave unguarded. The Navy couldn’t assist in the defence and likewise the RAF couldn’t send help for fear of a massed attack on Hanover. The islands would be just about safe but couldn’t afford to divert assets until the fleet arrived. Lynx had help in the form of other ODECON member states but Stevid was powerless to attack or defend allies until the Royal Navy arrived on the scene.
The fleet, Task Force 6391 (“Fawkes”), 9364 (“Commons”) and 8828 (“Lords”) were en route at the best possible speed that could be achieved. Britannia Adenia also had a lot of logistical shipping in several Stevidian harbours in time for the naval exercises which tagged along with the Royal Navy Reserve sent in to supply the fleet as it sailed to crush Ryouese opposition to ODECONs principles.

"Sir, we've got a number of allied fleets inbound to Lynx Island and we've got a confirmed report that the Greston Forces have bombed the intended Ryou Invasion Fleet," reported in the runner.
"That'll relieve us of some pressure," sighed Rathma.
"Still, the Ryouses won't give up so easily," stated Sherman. "What's the report from the Imperial Australian numbers?"
"They've got two armadas including three battle carriers and two carriers," explained the runner.
"So what do we have as defence?" asked Sherman as he rubbed his face.
"Hmm... Estimate of 550 warships, 500 Operational Aircrafts, 200 unmanned aircraft and 500,000 ground forces," replied the runner as he went through the reports.
"They still outnumber us slightly," started Sherman. "Increase the AA system along the possible routes to Lynx Island. Have a number of air and sea partols start to protect and be our early warning system. Increase the radar range and have all forces on Code Red,"
Lynx Island didn't come alive like many nations would think. Instead, they were quietly moving the positions of the armour and infantry around the island into possible positions. Air partols went out from time to time to check the possible routes the Ryouese could use. The Sea partols were sent out to keep the sea lanes open for their allies. If an allied fleet was heading to Lynx Island, they would comes across old destroyers actting as lookouts for the Lynx Defenders. It was now a matter of time.

100km from Ryou Islands
One of the Command and Control E-14s escorting the immense formation over to the Ryou Islands sent out a brief signal to all friendlies in a coded zip squeal.
"Approaching mild turbulance at Angels 15. Advise all Hens to lay eggs at Angels 8. Reduce speed and prepare for curtain call."
Within seconds every transport aircraft in the fleet were dropping lower, exiting the clouds now and cutting back on their engine power. The Ryou Islands could be seen in the distance now, and onboard all gliders and transports, yellow lights flared to life near the exits.
The troops stood up as one and clipped their parachute lines to an overhead cable. The Jumpmasters in distinctive flightsuits moved to stand beside the exits, joined by the commanders of the units. Using tentacle signals due to the roar of wind and the engines, they gestured to the paratroopers in the front row.
Each soldier then reached back and patted the soldier behind himself, giving a slap to the hip to let them know that they would soon be jumping. Speakers inside the planes blared, "Fifteen minutes!" Airborne paratroopers said their final prayers and clutched their rifles across their chests tightly.
Radio silence broken, the Electronic Warfare aircraft among the fleet began to broadcast powerful signals, a radio signal that would far to carry music. The traditional song played each time Blubland Airborne went into battle.
He was just a rookie trooper and he surely shook with fright.
He checked off his equipment and made sure his pack was tight.
He had to sit and listen to those awful engines roar.
You ain't gonna jump no more.
Chorus:
Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.
Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.
Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.
He ain't gonna jump no more.
"Is everybody happy?" cried the sergeant looking up.
Our hero feebly answered, "Yes", and then they stood him up.
He jumped into the icy blast, his static line unhooked.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
He counted long, he counted loud, he waited for the shock.
He felt the wind, he felt the cold, he felt the awful drop.
The silk from his reserve spilled out and wrapped around his legs.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
The risers swung around his neck, connectors cracked his dome.
Suspension lines were tied in knots around his skinny bones.
The canopy became his shroud, he hurtled to the ground.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
The days he lived and loved and laughed kept running through his mind.
He thought about the girl back home, the one he left behind.
He thought about the medicos and wondered what they'd find.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
The ambulance was on the spot, the jeeps were running wild.
The medics jumped and screamed with glee, rolled up their sleeves and smiled.
For it had been a week or more since last a 'chute had failed.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
He hit the ground, the sound was "Splat," his blood went spurting high.
His comrades they were heard to say, "A helluva way to die."
He lay there rolling 'round in the welter of his gore.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
There was blood upon the risers, there were brains upon the 'chute.
Intestines were a-dangling from his paratrooper suit.
He was a mess, they picked him up and poured him from his boots.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
