The Election was on for control of The Imperial Revolutionary Congress's Two Houses: The Imperial Senate and The House of Doge. all for Major Parties and two minor parties were in this Election.
This would also show to many that Ryouese also had Democracy also, even though they were Socialists.

The Ryouese Revolutionary People's Party
a Liberal Socialist Party, It was bought over to the Islands by The Wanderjarians, The Party over the years have started a Campaign of Ryouese Nationalism and Anti-Grestonianism among the Empire. Leading The war against East Conagree and supports Free Healthcare and More money to Defense and Education.
Ryouese Maoist Party
The First Party in The Ryou Black Islands, the were for long time the only party in the islands till The First Ryouese Civil War. the Maoists see that day coming for their Return to Power and are awaiting The Grand Minister Elections two years from now in hopes of throw out Saiunko and her revolutionaries. More for workers rights and Free Education then anything else.
Ryouese Republican Socialist Party
Bought over from Kanami, it fallows the same ways as it's Kanami Counterpart. Less Spending on the Military and more for Civilian works it what they want. They were for a long time the lead Party of the Islands.
The Reist Party of The Communist State (Reist)
The Reists are a Split off from Mainstream Maoism, They tend to fallow Rei Nakagishima's Ideas of Communism and Socialism. The Most Liberal and Radical Party in The Empire.

the First Non-Socialist Party on the Islands after The First Civil War, they were part of The Rebel Alliance in the Second Civil war. They support Democracy in The islands. Lead by Rebel leader Major Miroku Ranmai, The Support Education and Freedom of The Press

Founded by members of Asuka's Old Inter Circle They are for Capitalism and Expanding the empire, even into other free nations.
