So I was thinking, and we do everything else, why not a worlds fair?

OOC: Sounds interesting. How do we do this?

Well, first we decide who will host it, then we need a theme. Then nations make a pavilion based on that theme, showcasing their latest cultural and technological advancements. Like Expo '70 in Japan, the theme was Progress and Harmony for Mankind, the United States showed off a moon rock, and the first IMAX film was debuted. As were demonstrations of Cell Phone, LAN (Local Area Networking), and Maglev train technology.

Depends on the character of the festival.

Personally, I'd like to host it simply to recreate the feel of the 1936 Olympics or one of the exhibitions held in Germany during the 1930's. That being said, if people are looking for a fair based on egalitarian values, we're probably not the best choice since our entire exhibit would be designed to proclaim our superiority and the superiority of the National Democratic Party's rule.

Regardless of who hosts it, our contributions would be cutting-edge computers/robotics/artificial intelligence, various economic progress displays, our new advances in genetic and medical engineering and progress in space technology since those areas are the ones in which we particularly excel. Our display would of course retain its nationalist character regardless of location.

Mm, there's no sense in making the theme something so specific as "egalitarianism". Considering people's varying definitions of what does and doesn't count as egalitarian, it wouldn't work out so well like that. A general theme (such as "Progress and Harmony for Mankind") covers everything and could be taken in a variety of ways. I, for one, would participate provided I didn't have to have a flawless idea that looks like NSD had a few hundred cracks at it -- of course, I'd stick to civil technologies anyway, like ultra-modern architecture and transportation systems since my nation is big on working toward compact, healthy, sustainable megalopoleis.

I'd like to since my nation has great eco-friendly tech!

True. Our definitions of "progress and harmony" are very different from others, so there's likely to be some pretty significant differences between our exhibits and those of democratic states.

Re the earlier reference to 'Mankind', I really hope that this wouldn't be a "Humans-only" event...

I agree with Bears Armed in hoping that it would not be limited to humans only.

And I think this would be an excellent idea, I'd gladly participate, and will even offer to host it. I have a just built acrology, that hasn't been moved into yet that would hold all of the particpants and their displays in comfort.

I keep forgetting that not everyone uses a 100% human population. How about something more like "Progress and Harmony for All Being"?

It is one of the worlds largest structures, standing over 2,500 feet tall and covers over 45 acres

The statistics for the project are absolutely staggering; floor area is 36.5 Million square feet. The incredible multi use structure will feature 1,00 luxury apartments, 5,000 hotel rooms, a school capable of handling up to 1000 students. There are several fully holographic cinemas, an oldfashioned Imax style cinema, two theatres with one optimized for opera and musicals, three general entertainment venues, a sports complex with multiple professional quality arenasl multitudes of restraunts and much more. There will also be a 26,500 space underground parking lot for all the visitors.

The exterior facade is solar responsive and includes solar panels which, along with wind turbines, will generate electricity for the huge tower. Natural ventilation is provided by numerous strategically placed large atriums. The internal environment also has dynamic enclosure panels slotted into the structural framing that allows daylight to penetrate deep into the heart of the structure; the panels are be controlled to modify temperature inside the building – closed in winter for extra warmth and opened in summer to allow natural ventilation.

Depending on which country hosts it, I might be game to participate in this.

Generally this would be to show of civilian, non-military advancements.

Some rules/expectations might be decided upon now that there are several nations interested, I think. Do you have anything concrete in that respect, Beatus?

Not really, it was just an idea based on the RL World's Fair. I think we should keep away from military stuff, I also think we should keep it MT and very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very early PMT.

I think that it indeed should NOT be military / weapons focused but I thihk it iz okay to have MT and PMT but no FT
