Sea of Rubet- Rubet Island East Coast
The sea was unusually calm and tranquil for this wintry time of year though the cloud were quite overcast in the far distance as rain approached westerly from the Stevidian mainland, but a far greater storm was about to be unleashed across Stevidian waters surrounding the entire country and Rubet. The first official naval exercise to be conducted by ODECON was to start in Stevidian waters and on her shores involving at least four nations who had put forward their navies to be included in the joint naval exercises involving almost every branch of the military. The Sea of Rubet was always crammed with naval shipping hot off the production line with fresh crews manning them as they began their training and getting a taste of military sea life.
Stevid was the first host for such exercises for several reasons, the most influential one being that the country’s former First Sea Lord Sir Alan West was the Supreme Naval Overseer of ODEFLE and had arranged the exercises to be centred around the nerve centre of the Holy Empire. But there were other reasons like the fact the Stevidian Royal Navy was well known for its valour and competence in battle and now had global recognition and respect because of its reputation and size. The technology used on the vessels was state of the art and highly futuristic along many lines particularly in electronic warfare and detection. The Royal Marines were not much different, they were a well known, crack and disciplined fighting force that few could match. Stevid had invaded and occupied several countries over the past ten years and the Marines had always been at the forefront of the initial landings and all major troop assaults. Excellent to give the allied foreign navies and marines a taste of what ODEFLE expects of them.
The Royal Navy had already begun the initial exercises by itself before allied ships were arriving. Rubet was already closed to commercial sea and air traffic and shells and missiles alike were being lobbed from Stevidian shipping like there was no tomorrow. It was 4:00 and a designated military training beach was already scarred beyond recognition from a heavy missile and cannon bombardment as well as suffering from multiple air strikes- all using live ammunition. Of course either blanks or electrical equipment would be used to simulate war during the course of the next two to three weeks.
These were the Royal Navy’s home waters and they now awaited the allied navies to arrive en mass to begin the largest joint naval exercise in Stevid’s history.

OOC:
This is semi-open at best but all ‘combat’ is between ODECON nations as this is a military exercise set up by the alliance.
Plan of action for participating ODECON members:
1) Arrival of your fleets. Portsmouth harbour is big enough to accommodate nearly all the military ships but the logistical vessels will be based at a different port. The King and the First Sea Lord of Stevidian (Plus any foreign dignitaries you wish to bring along) will inspect all the vessels in a ceremonial spectacle before the fleet exercises begin.
2) Initial exercises will included formation sailing and logistical management (Includes ship-to-ship and air-to-air refuelling).
3) Next is the fun stuff and will probably be the made bulk of posting in this thread. The warfare. Ship-to-ship, air-to-surface (and vice versa), air-to-air, and ship-to-land warfare is covered.
4) Amphibious assaults. This will include elements of the above exercise but to make things less complicated on everyone I’ll separate the two.
5) Humanitarian Efforts. Probably the boring bit and my guess is this bit will be covered by only a few posts.
The RP should be wrapped up in one or two weeks. Post your fleet and we’ll kick off ASAP.
