He raised his lip in utter contempt for the voice but he kept quiet as the drugs entered his system and started to do their work. About 6 minutes later he was under the full effect of the drug and ready to answer any questions.
The Voice began with a series of 'control' questions. Are you sitting? Is there a light in the room? Then the real questions began.
"You are impersonation Ian [last name]. Why?"
"I'm more interested in important national works, such as imagery of rulers, major military victories/defeats, anything along those lines. My names Damien Fortescue. I'm very interested in Art and it's role in recording history."
He extended his hand to shake the Curator's hand
Oh my... Nova thought as she shook his hand warmly.
"Well, we have a lovely collection showing the nation's wonderful history. From the Battle of Kursk in 1343 up to the November Revolution," she explained, leading him on to the exhibit.
"Uh, Yes, I'm sure she does." the man didn't seem to be so sure in the tone of his voice. Though indeed he knew she did. That was the whole plan to come as a business rep, have this mix up, and then be a tourist for 3 days that had no tourist plans so that she literally could make decisions on the spur of the moment.
"I'd get her to come back, but to be honest... I'm glad for her to be out of my hair for a while. Well, thank you for being understanding. I'm sorry about all this."
After waiting for a response if any came, he'd hung up. There, done as good it seemed to be going as planned. Authorities are usually good about these things if you're up front and not trying to hide anything. Though it was a double bluff.
The Agent was a bit puzzled, but odder things had happened in the Customs area. He walked over to the cafe he'd pointed out and found her.
"Miss? We just got off with your company, and they filled us in," he explained. "As long as you have a legitimate tourist Visa, you'll be able to get a Tourist Travel documents."
He went to the booth that called him. He gave the name of the Great Grandfather of his target."I'm looking for any information about any living relatives you might have.
"Ah, a geneology search, eh?" the attendant nodded. She got a lot of those. "Do you have proof of kinship with [great-grandfather]?"
ooc: suppose that he does.

The two 'guards' just smiled at Maria, though it wasn't a friendly smile, it had a sense of malevolence to it that was just so unfamiliar to all of her experience. Angel and Jessica started to get back on their feet.
"You ate our food, now you have to give us something back in return, now normally you'd give us money. But I guess you don't know what that is, come with me and we'll find an alternative arrangement."
2 others were approaching from behind, they still had some time to react until they reached and if wanted to run for it, they'd have to do it quickly.
"RUN!" She shouted, as she bolted out. In her rush to get out, she was not paying attention on whether the other girls had taken her cue.

"RUN!" She shouted, as she bolted out. In her rush to get out, she was not paying attention on whether the other girls had taken her cue.
They had, in their attempt to get up they were roughly in a position very similar to sprinters use for the 100m. Instead of popping up, to stand up they were popping out, sprinting almost in a position. Maria was able to get passed but buth Angel and Jessica were just that further bit behind and just that bit later. One of those that would block the passage way between them and freedom tried to grab at Jessica but she just slipped through their grasp. However Angel wasn't so lucky. She had been grasped firmly.
However she knew how to deal a bit of pain, she din't go for the grown but instead the thumb. She grabbed and twisted getting the necessarily angle, leverage and stability needed and they grunted in pain as the released her. Angel started to catch up wih Maria and Jessica, they weren't following but they pulled out guns and started to fire out onto the street, someone was shot in the arm but none of the shots hit Maria, Jessica or Angel... but they were certainly close.
Sam smirked. "I'll go along with that logic. Animals like rewards and fear pain. We're the ones handing out the rewards and punishments here, so you should do what we want. Or you could face the consequences, but that would mean you're more than an animal after all."
Anne nodded in agreement. "So either you act like an animal, and try to avoid being cut into little bits by helping us, or you act like a human, remember your sense of morality, and help us." She turned around. "I'm going to fetch the doc, you've got about half an hour to decide for which of the two reasons he's not going to cut you up, or else he will. See ya."
"I guess so..." that was all he said as he watched and waited to see what Anne would do now.
The Voice began with a series of 'control' questions. Are you sitting? Is there a light in the room? Then the real questions began.
"You are impersonation Ian [last name]. Why?"
The man answered the control questions...
"Yes."
"Yes, there is..." the tone was sarcastic as if saying "Nah, Dur." or anther sarcastic comment denying the existance of the light. In this case it was almost as if asking "Can't you see?" but it was certainly the truth and not exactly how he would of otherwise spoke.
"We needed a way to properly control Daniel, to get what he was really thinking and be able to do some subtle manipulation. Oh, the Overt manipulation was fun and quite effective but we needed a way to direct him without him thinking we were. And the best way was for there to be someone whom he thought was like him. So... this is what we did." It was the truth but with a hint of gloating as if he was proud of what he did wasn't afraid to show it.
Oh my... Nova thought as she shook his hand warmly.
"Well, we have a lovely collection showing the nation's wonderful history. From the Battle of Kursk in 1343 up to the November Revolution," she explained, leading him on to the exhibit.
"Sounds fascinating..." he said following her. His plan to make some observant comments about the style of painting, and discussing when it was painted what historical event it captured and so forth getting an idea of history before looking at some more general items. This would take a number of days to build up a decent reporte.
The Agent was a bit puzzled, but odder things had happened in the Customs area. He walked over to the cafe he'd pointed out and found her.

"Ah, Yes. I do have that." she reached into her pocket and pulled out the tourist Visa, presenting it to the Agent. "Oh, and here. I s'pose you should have this too." she spoke presenting one of her suitcases to the Agent. "These are my cheese samples. I'm not going to be needing them, I don't care what you do with them eat them, burn them... I couldn't give a crap."
"Ah, a geneology search, eh?" the attendant nodded. She got a lot of those. "Do you have proof of kinship with [great-grandfather]?"
"Ah, yes.. Hang on a moment.." He started to run through his pockets, first on his trousers then on his shirt and then into his jacket.
"Ah, there we are." he found the necessary papers folded tightly in one of his jacket's inside pockets opening them up he presented them to the Archivist behind the counter.

Agent-in-Charge Anthony D'Arcy was reading the Colonial Crime Monitor, the official publication of the state and federal police forces in the Northern Colonies, allowing officers, constables and agents like himself an ability to read about crime that were being investigated by different squads even different Police Forces. He stumbled onto this report of a couple accused of smuggling human meat and consuming the meat.
"Interesting," D'Arcy replied, before moving onto the other sections of the Monitor.

He didn't say a word as he watched Anne and the Doctor come in... He believed it was all a show, to get him to open his lips and confess, who did they think he was, stupid?
Back home they wouldn't of made a show about it, they'd just get stuck in show via doing that they were indeed serious and not to be messed with. This was just painfully rediculous. "You call this a torture interrogation? Pathetic my mother does it better than you." Which in a rather twist of irony was in fact true (to a large degree), she was a torture specialist.

The doctor sighed. "Well then." She moved some of his clothes out of the way, and started smearing disinfectant over his belly. "We can't have you get an infection before you talk" she said to the man. She picked up a scalpel and started making an incision.
Sam suddenly ran away. The man could hear him throw up in one of the other stalls of the bathroom they were in.
The incision itself didn't really hurt it was more of a weird disjointed feeling, added a weird pressure sensation as the scapel made it into the muscle below the skin. blood started to seep out into the wound and that was when it started to hurt as the body realised that something had cut into it and started trying to repair itself. He grimaced almost snarling at the doctor... but he didn't talk.
"I dunno," replied Maria. "We might end up in a sticky situation like what happened before. We obviously need to find something like what the other guy had which made that loud noise."
"Which we will probably need this money for as well... unless... well no that's too dangerous." Angel drifted off finishing her sentence weakly. "Either way, we need this money, and hope we luck out and find something that doesn't require a boomstick or a different weapon."
This information was relayed quickly.
"And where are you centrally based?" asked the Voice.
He wanted to be a smart alec "Me? Here!" but that wouldn't do any good they'd just rephrase the question... that and the serum was preventing him from actually doing it knowing what they meant.
"An ... area, that's called 'Atheistic Right'"
Atheisitic Right wasn't well known, most of the nations that where around them or had to deal with them just did what they had to and ignored them as much as possible. Mainly because they were focused with internal issues. Atheistic Right is currently in a limbo an anarchic society without a clear leader. They go by animal names as they like to think of themselves as nothing more than animals. Though there was a brief time after a group of allied nations invaded (due to the rightist getting hands on some nuclear material for weapons) and utterly demolished them, yet they still survived moving to an unknown location.
"Well for ceramics and such, we have specially designed cases for them to go into, which even have their own built-in suspension to counteract and jostling while in motion. Usually, we'll hire out to a security firm to provide protection while the artifacts are transported," Nova explained.
"I know this is a very unusual request and you have every right to say no, but I was wondering would I be able to see some of these cases?" He was hopeful that she'd say yes, He had planned on building up enough of a rapport with the curator so that he would be able to enter the area.
"Eh, most outsiders whose country's aren't our allies feel that way," the agent said, thinking this was getting better by the minute. She chuckled along with him, sending him signals that she was open to doing something with him. "I've always wanted to go to a theme park, never got around to it... but now? well why not." She smiled at him.
"It's a strange feeling, huh?" the archivist asked. "A lotta people that come here feel that way, finding a relative and all is so emotional." she looked back, "I'll be right back with that print-out, okay?"
He just nodded keeping a sort of pressed smile, this was it...

After that single cut, the doctor stopped. She waited for maybe half a minute, then started stitching the wound she had made.
Anne disagreed. "Why did you stop?"
"Sorry An, looks like you played chicken and lost. If I'm really going to cut him up he will probably need blood. We don't have that, he knows we don't have it, and he also knows we know dead men don't talk."
For a moment Anne seemed ready to destroy the room, but she quickly put the "friendly" smile back on her face. "Then what do you suggest?"
The doctor shrugged. "Leave him in the dark without food for a few days, I suppose."

As soon as a country was named, surveillance and foreign intelligence operatives went to work. Though it was an unknown country to the Commonwealth, someone, somewhere knew of them, and it would be only a matter of time until they narrowed it down...
"Where do the meat shipments come in?" asked the Voice. "How is it distributed in this country?"
"I know this is a very unusual request and you have every right to say no, but I was wondering would I be able to see some of these cases?" He was hopeful that she'd say yes, He had planned on building up enough of a rapport with the curator so that he would be able to enter the area.
"Well, it's not like they're a state secret but..." Nova answered. He was charming, to say the least, but this seemed completely odd. "I'd have to talk to our security company...they keep the cases unless they're needed," she explained.
She chuckled along with him, sending him signals that she was open to doing something with him. "I've always wanted to go to a theme park, never got around to it... but now? well why not." She smiled at him.
"Eh...this might seem odd and...well," the agent (http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c318/mimiokis/Matsuda.png) fumbled. He was youngish, not overly attractive, but not ugly either. "Would it be all right if I took you?" he offered.
He just nodded keeping a sort of pressed smile, this was it...

"Where do the meat shipments come in?" asked the Voice. "How is it distributed in this country?"
"We don't know the how... That wasn't our job" the Ian snarled...
While they couldn't find information about Atheistic Right, they did some information on Bazalonia the name of a country that had a reported war with Atheistic Right before they seemed to disappear overnight. nfact it did seem to be the trigger for this disappearence... They might have some more information.
"Well, it's not like they're a state secret but..." Nova answered. He was charming, to say the least, but this seemed completely odd. "I'd have to talk to our security company...they keep the cases unless they're needed," she explained.
"Oh, if it's too much trouble don't worry, I just have some archaeologist friends and they're very interested in finding safe ways to transport things like this." He gave a quick brief smile... before deciding to Stretch his arms in a similiar fashion as you would associate with a yawn.
"I just arrived today... the flight has taken a toll on me, thank you for showing me around and everything. I might be able to continue a bit later on, but my muscles are telling me I need to do something about them.
"Eh...this might seem odd and...well," the agent (http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c318/mimiokis/Matsuda.png) fumbled. He was youngish, not overly attractive, but not ugly either. "Would it be all right if I took you?" he offered.
She paused as if stunned or at least unsure what to make of it... "Ah, why not, I doubt it would be as fun without someone to share the experience with. Here... oh um.. paper." She put down her bag before opening it up and loking for her itinerary. "Ah, here we go" she had a pen in her pocket and scribled her hotel, it's address, phone number. "I don't know my room number but they should be able to put you through anyway. oh, and here's my full name. You'll need that too." She scribled her name above the hotel/s details.
She ripped that off and gave it to the agent. She was smiling and slightly blushing.
"There you are," the Archivist said, handing over the documents. "It also has the most up-to-date contact information we have...would you like anything else?"
"no, thank you, this is everything... Well off I go." giving the archivist another brief uncertain smile.
It was time to go back to the hotel and do his planning.
"I don't know," replied Maria. "Maybe we could ask nicely. Mention that someone you knew recently died."
"Well, at least the worst they can say is No...."commented Angel why not. "They are going to pay for what they did to Brian, one way or another." Jessica replied apparently revealing a darker side that neither of them knew before.
Angel and Jessica started off apparently in agreement with Maria., finding someone in the street. "A friend of ours just got killed, and we need some help getting a gun." The woman paused unsure what to make of the three of them before responding. "You want Badger, he's up in the room above that shop over there. Tell him Nightingale, sent you." She pointed out the room and the shop, there were stairs just beside the shop where they were to ascend.
After that single cut, the doctor stopped. She waited for maybe half a minute, then started stitching the wound she had made.

As the stitches were being done he allowed himself a smile on his face, his eyes were just declaring that he had something to say but held himself back until the wound was sewn back together.
"Pathetic" he exclaimed adding a bit of mad laughter to the end... "You do something you do it right, even the most incompetent of torturers back home in Atheistic Right know how to play the game and you suck. You don't just inflict pain, you make sure they the consequences of not doing what your told. Make it clear that even though we all know you want information from me you are willing to go all the way, killing me should I remain stubborn enough to be tight lipped or jerk you around by providing false information but no you, we all know you don't have the guts... the balls... for this." he started to laugh again at Anne, at the Doctor at the entirety of The Free Priesthood.

It was almost invisible, but Anne made a small gesture. One of the others in the room nodded, he would leave a minute later and try to get any information about this place called Atheistic Right. If it was as bad a place as the name suggested, some Free Priest somewhere would surely have at least a short file.
You don't just inflict pain, you make sure they the consequences of not doing what your told. The helper left the room. Anne, who by now clearly appeared to be more or less the leader of the small group, smiled and replied. "Well, why would you expect us to know anything about torture? We have other, slower, more... entertaining ways. And we haven't had a chance to learn from experiencing torture, because unlike some other people we don't tend to get caught. I guess you're right about showing the willingness to kill, but it's impossible to hide we're not allowed to kill ... however ... locking you up without food and leaving you to die is in a gray area." She gave the doctor a nod as if to thank her for the idea.
Anne clapped her hands. "Get moving guys, I want an IR video stream from here to my desk, everyone who is sick or not needed get back to your normal work!"
She sent the prisoner the same sickening friendly smile. "I will enjoy watching you starve."
"Do give him water, or else it will be too quick" said the doctor while she packed her tools.

The initial hunger pangs were the problem 2 or so days of those, and the body stops reacting to the hunger signals from the stomach and the body starts tearing apart it's own cells to procide the energy, protein and other nutrients it needs.
It's only once at the far end when you get hunger pains again that you know you are in real trouble.
As for the Assistant that left the room, she did find file on them. The place is basically anarchic. There was a time when there was someone Strong enough, to unite the nation under his rule. He was called The Great Lion, but now, it's made of disparate groups all mostly fighting against each other. It was located in the Region of Atlantian Oceania, but after a war against a group of allies made up of some at least who were usually enemies they didn't last long against the overwhelming force of arms laid against them.
After this they moved, from their location but no one as yet where they moved too. It is believed someone knows but it's hard to say who.

A gruff voice could be heard behind the closed door, and while being muffled by the door it could still be easily heard. "Who is and it and what do you want?" The voice indeed sounded like he might be able to push down the door and seperate your head from the rest of your body. Jessica gulped while Angel checked out what was happening behind them.
Itdidn't seem that there was anyone one blocking their escape route should anything go wrong.

The dwarf lead them into a room and told them to wait. "Badger will see you soon." he replied before heading back to the front door closing the door they entered on the way.

You may indeed be fit for survival, and the fact that those that you embarrassed are my competition in the food industry. Oh, I don't do human meat, I do something else... there's an old saying 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend'. With your help I might be able to take them donw, using their own systems against them. Now, what do you think?"
"Oh, I met him once at a convention," Nova said as she recognized the name. She took the card with a smile, "I'm pretty busy...we're starting a new exhibition, but...I'll get you something as quick as I can," she promised him.
"Thank you, the tour has been lovely and thank you for looking into that for me. I'll be looking forward to tht call." He gave a brief flash of a smile before he started to leave. As he got to the edge of the room he turned around. "A lovely place you've got here, it's a great museum." He turned for the final time and headed to his hotel room. "That's Step 1..." he thought as he rested in the Taxi. It was time to perform the last few checks and just make sure everything was ready. Things were going to plan but you had to be ready, just in case.
He blushed at her giggle. Thank you, God
"And here I thought the idea of the charming tourist was just a story from the water cooler," he said with a nervous chuckle. "Erm, do you need a cab or something? I can recommend which ones to take, and which ones will scam you," he offered.
"Oh, there are cabs that will do that? Yeah, I do... would you do that for me, please?" she got a bit tense at the idea of being scammed. "I hope they don't do anything untoward."
Stretching, Marko got out from under his 67 Mustang. His shirt was dirty and smeared with oil and grease. It wasn't turning over, but he still couldn't find the reason why...
There was a knock and the ring of a bell on Marko's front door as the assassin stood in front clutching at documents in his hand. He was dressed in a manner you'd call smart-casual as he wanted to make an impression but didn't want to look 'stiff' either. Here it goes the final curtain call.

Jessica managed to pull herself together a few minutes after Maria and it was then that Badger put his magazine down and started to address them all.

.
"Well," Maria replied. "I suppose it sounds good."

Jessica looked up at Maria as she stood up to face Badger. Tears welled in Jessica's eyes as she grabbed some of the tissues offered and also stood up too.
"And what about you other two?" he asked looking over Jessica and Angel. Jessica jusst nodded in reply as she was stilll upset but pulling herself together gradually. "Yes, we agree" Angel replied.
"Good, now normally I have a little tradition for sealing a deal, but perhaps we'll let it slide this time. There are some rooms here. You will stay as my guests until we are ready to act. Plans will be coming to you shortly so you will know what you have to do. Someone will show you to your rooms shortly unless there is anything immediate that you have to ask?"

The words came out before Maria had the chance to control them.
"Who am I?" She blurted out.

Badger looked at Maria for a moment... "And how come do you think I would know?" He stared at Maria with a strong force of will. "But... perhaps I can find out. If you give me what you know... I may just be able to find out the rest. I can't promise anything but I will do my best, I can't even promise that you will like the result, but you shall get the truth whatever it turns out to be."
He finished speaking to Maria, before adding one more line. "And that goes for your two friends too. Tell me what you can."

"You seem to know alot about where we come from," replied Maria.
She sighed for a second before continuing.
"I can't remember much," she continued. "It was a long time ago and I was young. All I remember are sketches. I remember being in a plane, getting into an airport. I think it may have been a holiday. And then all I remember is waking up to what I always thought was village mum promised to take me for some reason. I don't remember why, but I always wanted to go to this village. I dunno..."

He looked at Maria for a moment, a smile plastered on his face.... "That's good news... well sort of. You were kidnapped and brought into the vault. But that means I'll be able find some reports about it. They usually kidnapp around 1 or 2 years old. I'm guessing you were kidnapped at 3. You have a memory even though how vague of life outside. This is great news for you, oh, and what's your name? What about you others?"
Angel and Jessica gave their names and what they remembered but to be honest there wasn't anything like what Maria had to go on.
