Mayumi had been queen for such a short time, and she was on her way for her first diplomatic consort. It was very exciting, since her Father's death she had to run the country, take care of her siblings whom adored her and looked to her as their mother figure. "You're leaving?"

"I'll only be gone for a little while, you'll be okay with you me." The youngest Aina asked.

"You'll come back safe?" Aina pleaded.

"Yes I'll come back safe." She hugged her little sister. "Airi, I'm counting on you to take care of Aina."

"I will sis, you can count on me." She gave her a hug, they hadn't been apart since they were all born. Mayumi boarded her plane, after a very long flighty they descended into Neo-Spensonia. She stepped off the plane into the sun, she squinted at the sudden bright sunlight. "This must be the place huh?"

"Our escort should be arriving momentarily."

Although the Spensonian nation had been founded on the concept that monarchy was a repugnant form of government and that aristocrats ought to work for their upkeep rather than be simply born into it, the Spensonians had decided that they should permit the pursuit of diplomatic relations with the monarchies of the world including the British from whom the Spensonians were born. It had been quite interesting to know that a foreign monarch was coming to visit Spensonia with diplomats all talking about it and some even jesting they'd flirt with Mayumi but, of course, they'd be severely reprimanded if they acted like lewd perverts. Richard Savage, the Prime Minister at the time, had decided that he would meet with Mayumi along with his foreign minister because, well, he had been just elected into office and wanted to meet another leader face to face. When Mayumi's plane had landed, the Spensonian envoy greeted her and took her onto a motorcade which sped off through the streets of New Manchester towards Islington Street. If Mayumi looked, she could see massive cathedrals which were built two centuries ago coupled with statues and skyscrapers. A statue of the Founding Fathers stood proudly on Peterloo Square with a plaque listing their names and their collective achievement of making Spensonia into a nation. A poster showing off the new look of Bridget O'Connor could be seen among many on boards all over the city: "Bridget is the wife of the current Prime Minister and she still pursues her modeling career while keeping her three children in mind."

Eventually they had finally ventured into what appeared to be 33 Islington Street where the Prime Minister and his family lived with the envoys saying that the Prime Minister wanted to meet Mayumi before she began meeting Fyodorov to discuss diplomatic relations. When Mayumi was led inside, she was greeted by a handsome Englishman while the faint sounds of a woman trying to control children were heard in the background. "My name is Richard Savage, Your Majesty, and it is an ironic pleasure to meet you. I hope you won't mind we chat a little before your meeting. Like you, I only recently became a leader and don't worry about the noise.....that's just my wife trying to keep my children under control."

All of a sudden, a four year old girl in an adorable dress ran into the room towards her father and his royal guest while his wife ran after her but Richard, who had always loved his children's excitedness, simply laughed. "Don't worry about it, Your Majesty, my little girl is just curious about you."

Anne looked up at Mayumi and greeted her before Richard handed her over to his wife with a boisterous laugh. "Now, if you follow me, we'll head off to the room I have set aside for our discussion."

"Thank you for your kind welcome, sir." Mayumi smiled at the little child that stood before her. "I have little siblings of my own, and in a sense I've become their mother with my father's death. Hi there, sweetheart." She keeled in front of the child the only time a woman of her status was allowed to as such. She handed out a chocolate. "Do you like sweets? Where I come from we make chocolate. It's very good. You best let your daddy and myself talk, okay?" As the little girl went over to her mother. "What a sweet little one you have. Anyway lead the way." She followed him and sat down.

Anne was ecstatic when she took the chocolate into her hands and made sure she allowed her father to talk to the "kind lady" who had given her such a delicious treat. As Richard and Mayumi walked through the halls, Mayumi could see that there were family portraits all over the walls depicting all sorts of events and people including a lovely picture of Richard holding up the infant Anne just days after she was born in a local hospital. They eventually reached Richard's personal study room in which one could find a desk with a family portrait upon it and a fashion magazine which had his wife on the cover and that was something that miffed him only a bit because he knew people all over Spensonia loved her and, indeed, her videos often got lewd comments as any video of a beautiful woman would. Richard told Mayumi to sit down on a chair while he took his own seat. The sound of Dorothy Savage, the second oldest child, playing the piano could be heard in the background of the conversation.

"I must say that it's nice to be able to meet you, Mayumi. I'm new to leading an entire nation myself just as you are but I am sure we can get everything well done. So, how are things for you? Planning anything significant for your nation?"

"Significant, well I don't know yet. I suppose business as usual it will be for me and my nation."

"You will probably have a lot of duties, Your Majesty, such as securing an heir for the throne and keeping the economy under control. To leaders, titles are insignificant in the face of their duties."

"I'm sure your choice of husband will probably be restricted due to the desire for you not to comingle with those of a lesser stock." Richard said with a small grin.

"I am sure, though, you will find someone suitable. As well, our nations could learn quite alot from each other in terms of politics and culture....wouldn't you agree?"

"Yes, when I chose my mate he will have to be of the highest of standards. Our standards of marriage for Royalty are quite strict. I am forbidden to marry outside my race and social class. I could never be seen powling around with a common farm boy for example. I can't marry outside my race, or my species of human. I am to provide heirs to the throne thus I certainly can not marry into the same sex. Yes it's very tough, I pray every day for God to give me the guidance to chose the right spouse. I am certain though, your standards are much more lose. Which is why I think our nations will learn a great deal."

Richard smiled. "We don't really have standards because we have never subscribed to the monarchist system during our history as a sovereign and independent nation but rather we subscribe to the totality of social equality in which all men and women are equal regardless of what titles may be bestowed upon them and, indeed, we only have wealthy commoners here rather than aristocrats who lived in the land of my forefathers. Your standards aren't anything new but are typical of royal families which seek the purity of blood and, perhaps, if you were to marry a man who was not of good stock, the royal court would have your head. God knows how desperate men can be for a certain cause. When I married an Irish supermodel, no one had questioned my choice because she was shown to be modest and very virtuous. Our nations can learn a great deal about each other despite our political differences and, indeed, it would be a pleasure to learn more about Mizth-Sonika. Perhaps, in the future, I may pay it a visit or Fyodorov will. Nothing is certain."

Richard then rose from his seat. "It's best, I think, if you talk to Fyodorov now because that's why you came here but, before you do go, I'd like you to meet the rest of my family. You can say I am very proud of them and, indeed, I am damn proud! Now, shall we go?"

Richard got the family together and then showed them all to Ms. Yummura with a boisterous laugh and a great smile upon his chiseled face. Bridget, his wife, curtseyed and bade the Queen welcome to her home. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Your Majesty. You are the first monarch I've met in person rather than just heard about."

The children (Roger, Dorothy and Anne) all bowed and bade their own welcome especially Anne who had remembered that it was Mayumi who gave her that piece of chocolate. Richard rubbed the back of his neck and smiled at the queen. "Next to my nation, it is my family who I strive to protect. To me, they are the most important people I shall ever have known. When you have a family, Mayumi, treat them well."

Richard bowed and watched Mayumi leave with the men who had taken her to his house and, with a smile, he gave her these parting words: "Remember the people during your reign!"

Mayumi was helped back into the motorcade before it began speeding down the street towards the Foreign Office where Fyodorov had been waiting with his own family to whom he promised a meeting with Mayumi Yummura. Mayumi was, in fact, possibly the first non white person ever to be in Spensonia. When she finally got to the Foreign Office, she was led into a massive building adorned with the usual amenities of a government building such as a massive banner with the national motto to which men swore to upheld in the highest regard. Mayumi was brought into the conference room where Mikhail Fyodorov and his family were all waiting for her to arrive. Although his wife was pregnant, she still managed to bow in respect along with her son and daughter and, indeed, the son found Mayumi to be a tad pretty although not enough to persuade him to attempt anything. Fyodorov shook Mayumi's hand with a smile. "I'm Mikhail Fyodorov, the Free Land's Foreign Minister and it's a pleasure to meet you! Shall we proceed with our talks?"

"Oh yes, I guess as expected as such, you would not have any kinds of standards as to who you can wed." Mayumi hid her face behind her fan, it was usually a gesture of embarrassment and vulnerability. She revealed her face again. "I would love to meet your family." As they introduced she gave her own bow. "God has blessed you well. I can only continue to pray for the same blessings. Before I leave I have a gift." She pulled out a bag of the same kind of chocolate she gave to the little girl. "Our nation makes very fine chocolate. This bag is for the family to share."

Mayumi gave a nod and a "God Bless" as she was escorted back to the Motorcade. She gave a bow when she finally stood before the Foreign Minister.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too. Please let us begin."

Richard nodded his head. "There is a clear distinction to be seen between the marital standards of people of royal stock and those of common stock and standards still technically exist because some parents, in the ranks of those with common stock, will often dispute with their children over the choice of a spouse."

Bridget smiled. "I have always been thankful for the blessings that I have recieved such as the love and care of my husband and the good health and talents of my children. We are all thankful for what we have, Miss Yummura, and we thank you for your prayers."

Anne was ecstatic as she grabbed the bag of chocolate only to be chased after by her siblings who wanted to make sure an equal sharing system was created. Bridget giggled and Richard went to follow them.

Mikhail smiled. "I think we should discuss the exchange of embassies first. Do you have a person in mind for your nation's ambassador to Spensonia?"
