Secutary of Defense Thomas Ryder was at his side, and Secutary of State Theressa Green on his other side.
"The Test is due to take place in the Northern Ranges in just under two hours" Thomas reported.
"Ok thanks Tom, is the senior staff assembled?" Daniel added
"In the conference room"
The three f them strode to the room and went inside.
"Room-Tion" One of the Guards called and the Room stood to attention as DAniel came in and took his seat.
"Ok everyone, we ready?" DAniel asked as everyone resummed their seat.
"Yes Mr President" They responded

Concerning: Weapons test
It has come to our attention, through the recently constructed Battlehawk embassy, that your nation will be commencing a test on specific High Technology aircraft-mounted directed-energy weapons. The Armed Services of New Kereptica has been considering upgrading our capabilities, and the type of weapons that you are currantly testing is one of the considered upgrade platforms. We would be very grateful if you would allow a delegation from the Department of Defense to observe the test, and thereby consider whether or not to continue that path of research.

Rammsteinburg Embassy to The Republic of The Battlehawk
Two hours before test start
It was an unusually busy day at the embassy, secretary to the ambassador Stephanie Wegel noted. Uniformed members of the Rammsteinburg military had been coming and going for several hours, and the ambassador had already received three times the number of calls he typically received in an entire week. Wegel's security clearance was not high enough for her to be in the loop on the weapons testing, but by piecing together bits of information she was able to determine that something was going on involving the Battlehawk military and that it was something huge.
An Air Force major walked up to the secretary's desk. His name tag said 'Feierabend'. "Excuse me, miss," he said, "is the ambassador in?"
"He's in a meeting, but it should be over in a few minutes," Wegel replied. She smiled at the major. He was an incredibly handsome man: tall, muscular, with blond hair and a perfectly symmetrical face, as well as an aura of confidence that commanded respect; he seemed to her the epitome of a military man. The major smiled back at her and said that he would take a seat and wait.
Feierabend sat on a brown leather loveseat near the door. Somebody had left a copy of last month's Kriegergemütsart (Warrior's Spirit), Rammsteinburg's official military magazine. He picked it up and started to read an article on the upcoming decommissioning of one of Rammsteinburg's two remaining Engel class battleships. Five minutes passed and the major was halfway done with the long article when Stephanie Wegel informed him that the ambassador would see him now.
As he walked into the ambassador's office, Major Feierabend passed by a familiar man, Tobias Johannsohn, a top Ministry of War technical adviser and former Air Force colonel. The two nodded at each other. Ambassador Michael Gruber sat behind a large oak desk covered in paperwork. Gruber was a rather unimpressive figure. His white hair was starting to fall out and to those who worked with him he seemed to have only two facial expressions: fatigue and melancholy. The ambassador gestured for the major to sit down and looked over a piece of paper. There was silence for half a minute as he read the document, which unknown to Feierabend was actually just a memo on some construction being done to the embassy building next week.
Ambassador Gruber yawned and looked up at the major. He got straight to business and asked, "So, is your team all ready?"
The major responded affirmatively.
"Alright, I've arranged the transportation. An embassy SUV is waiting down in the parking garage."
"Is that all, sir?" Major Feierabend asked.
"Yes. Goodbye."
"Uh.. alright. Goodbye." The major stood and extended his hand, but the ambassador had begun reading another document and did not even notice. Slightly annoyed, the Air Force officer left and headed downstairs. On the way, he texted the other two members of his observation team, Subcommander Hans Lowe and Eva Schulze of the Rammsteinburg Ministry of War, Weapons Research Department. He told them to meet him in the parking garage.

Victory AFB
Half an hour later
An SUV marked with the seal of the Rammsteinburg Ministry of Foreign Affairs pulled up to the entrance of AFB Victory. The driver stopped and when the armed guard showed up, he flashed his identification. "Major Armin Feierabend, Rammsteinburg Air Force."
"And the others?" the guard asked.
The other two individuals showed their IDs.
"We're here on official business," Major Feierabend said. "I believe we're expected."

The jet screeched across the sky, the ramjets on it's tail propelling the occupants far faster then most people ever went in their lives. Far below the plane, waves rippled on crystal water. As the plane passed, a boom was heard, albeit by no one. Inside the jet the mode was amicable. In the front of the cabin were the five career soldiers that had been sent as part of the team to observe the Battlehawk test. There they sat, military regalia besplendent upon their slouched forms, sipping bourbon from ice filled tumblers. They roared with laughter at the slightest joke, and spent the time retelling the vastly overexadurated stories that they had recounted a hundred times before. In the back of the cabin, sat the other five members of the team. The little table around which they were clustered was covered in papers and laptops. They poured over the diagrams and spreadsheets, making the occasional comment and jotting down incomprehensible notes. In a way however, these men felt even more comradery then the soldiers.
When the plane landed however, both groups of men were in the same boat. They both picked up whatever bags they were bringing and trotted off to the two SUVs that awaited them at the airport. In the dividing of seats in the cars however, the split in the group again became apparant. The enginers piled into one car, while the soldiers entered the other. In the vehicles however, the mood was reversed. The engineers, having had finished all their preperations for the test, were free to chat, and chat they did. The soldiers on the other hand, had to contend with not only the bourbon impeding their hands as they typed preliminary reports on their blackberries, but he jostling of the car.
Both groups grew silent however, as they neared the military base where the test was to be conducted. The mood in both cars had sunken to entirely professional.

Concerning: Weapons test
It has come to our attention that you are testing laser weapons, similar to our AL-52. We would like to warn you, that due to the massive amount of energy needed, if you do not calibrate the lenses correctly, they will explode, often destroying the energy source (we used a mini-nucleur reactor).
We have taken the liberty to send an AL-52 Dragon to you main airforce base, so we can show you our machine. thank you,

Dr. Fiona Wheelock walked down from the C130 Supergalaxy. She had been told to get to RotB as soon as possible, to prevent a massive nuclear fallout. She was expecting some backwater country, with idiotic scientists: not a job for her!
But then she gasped. She realized what the massive building, connected to the fighter was: it was a battery powered laser! the implications astounded her. She suddenly through off her 'I am the most important person in the world' attitude, and raced to find the engineers. This was worse then she thought!
If the batteries were damaged, then the explosion would knock out an entire city block. But then again, maybe she was misreading the situation... she hurried off to find the president.

One of the Guards spooted Dr. Wheelock hurrying around and came up to her,
"Can I help you Ma'am?" He asked
" yes, I must speak to the president immediatly. it is a matter of grave national importance! this entire base might become a radioactive wasteland!"
The Battlehawk
10-11-2008, 21:52
"And how might this happen?" The Guard asked "This isn't a nuclear station"
It is to complicated for you, and probably classified: I need to see the president!
The Battlehawk
11-11-2008, 17:22
"Explain it" The Guard said as they began walking to a building before adding sarcasticly "So i'd understand it"
OOC: still working on the reason
"well the thing is that a laser focuses a beam of high energy light at a target. now light usually does not go in a straight line, so the laser will focus it in that direction. However, as some light usually escapes the lenses, that means a lot of energy is near the actual laser.
If you have a battery, close to the laser, with huge amounts of energy nearby, due to the previous point, that energy could ignite, causing the battery to explode, which contains huge amounts of energy.
That means, if you have a badly calibrated lense (down to a few microns) then you will probably kill yourself, and everyone around.
However, we fixed this problem in two different ways. One, we are flying, so energy is left behind, and we produce the energy needed, right before firing it, from a nuclear reactor on the actual plane.
However, if you have a battery on the plane, and a jet engine near by, that simply compounds the problem.
So you see, I have to see the president immediatly!

Dear sir,
Chiasia has been notified of your nation testing a weapon, which we can confirm we have nearly no details on. In an effort to secure international security, we request we may send Ambassdor Bae Gyeong to monitor this project on behalf of Chiasia.
We feel that this weapon is a doubled-edged sword; it may protect the ROTB, but it may decrease international security.
Yours,
Hai Xu.

The Chiasian Blackhawk landed at a helipad in the testing centre. Out of it, Miss Bae Gyeong, ambassdor to ROTB from Chiasia, stepped out of it calmly, wearing a white business shirt and black leather trousers. She was carrying a laptop, a Bon-Ki production, in her right hand.
As she looked at the weapons testing building, she gasped. She thought they were testing (like most countries) a nuclear missile. A massive laser could be seen, and she walked quickly into the building.
"Ambassdor Bae Gyeong from Chiasia," she said. "And my God, you have a big laser!"

While we applaud your efforts to advance the eons-old art of war, we simply feel it may be necessary to inform you that we have beaten you to laser weaponry; Currently, the Order employs approximately 30,000 laser batteries of various kinds, ranging from basic MTHEL mobile CIWS systems to satellite-mounted thermo-radioactivity lasers used for destroying ICBMs and in some cases, entire cities, and everything in between.
However, we do wish to observe and research your new weapon, as it may prove to be an asset to the Order's endeavors. While we already possess airborne lasers, your creation may surpass our own.
