Sequoia Defence Systems Inc. Corporate history

SDS was created by a series of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures within the Etoile Arcture arms manufacturing industry. The corporation is a joint stock company owned equally (20 per cent stake) by each of its five wholly-owned subsidaries, which include Marine & Heavy Tool Works, Sequoia Weaponworks, Sequoia Aerospace Systems, Sequoia Automotive Systems and Sequoia Electrodynamics. SDS also owns equity stakes in Hybalt Defence Industries of the Commonwealth of Granzi and in Aerodyne Inc, a leading aerospace manufacturer with whom SDS also has a strategic partnership. In December 2007 the Allis-Chalmers Corporation of the Republic of Coorsota agreed to form a joint venture with SDS, known as Sequoia-Allis Defence Services, to develop and market the M8 Lariat main battle tank to foreign governments.

Company Policies

SDS markets its products and services through company-to-company Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) transactions, as well as taking part in government-to-government Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Foreign Military Financing (FMF) programs. All sales by SDS are subject to export restrictions and weapons proliferation controls to prevent military aid and arms transfers to nations with poor human rights records and who support or assist domestic or international terrorism.

Contracts and Services

SDS will bid on fixed-price sole-source contracts as a prime contractor and system integrator, and may enter into non-exclusive licensed manufacturing agreements with other arms contractors and nation states, and will grant non-transferable rights on a cash and royalty basis. At present export restrictions limit the sale and transfer of sensitive technologies except to alligned nations, and at present the company will not award unlimited licenses to foreign manufacturers or agree to sublicensing of its products.

How to order

Alligned nations may procure military products through Limited Domestic Production Rights (LDPR), granting non-transferable rights on a cash and royalty basis.

Alligned and non-alligned nations may procure our products by a Fixed Cost Procurement Contract (FCPC) or Cost Plus Contract (CPC) as conducted via Direct Commercial Sales or the government-supported Foreign Military Sales program.

Payment

SDS will only accept bank-to-bank wire transfer of funds in Universal Standard Cash Dollars (US$) for contractual compensation and payment for production articles/services rendered. No contract will come into effect until after receipt of payment.

Announcement

LATEST: Storefront launched and accepting orders.

I am willing to trade you designs for the AL-52 Dragon, in exchange for enough weapons to equip a 100,000 men armoured brigade, with high standard equiptment. That means assault weapons, body armour, and tactical weapons, as well as APCs, MBT, LBT, Attack Heliccopters, and transport. I already have all the electronics, but estimate that this will cost ~$50 000 000. as the AL-52 dragon cost in excess of 3.5 billion dollars, I think this is a fair deal.

Aditionally, we would like to offer a merger between our naval production facilities, as we are the premier submarine and stealthed ship producer in our area of the world, with over 100 billion dollars in exports annually.

Response to contract solicitation from the Department of Militia

I regret to inform to inform your government that at this time our company must reluctantly decline the offer made by the Department of Militia to trade military materiel in return for the designs for the AL-52 Dragon airborne laser platform. The poor human rights record of the Mercanary Camp of Avoya precludes our company from transfering arms and technology between our nations. Should the political situation in Avoya improve this decision will be reviewed with post-haste.

OOC: Sorry to have to rebuff you in this manner, but ICly EA has very strict rules concerning respect for human rights. If I've read the situation in your nation wrong I'll of course review the decision.

Seqioua Defence System is pleased to inform the Ministry of Defence that all neccessary export licences and approvals have been granted by the Etoile Arcture government and permission to proceed has been given.

Our company agrees as following to sign a contract between Sequoia Defence Ssytems and the Ministry of Defence to supply the ordered items on a firm-fixed-price contract basis with a sixteen year period of performance beginning November 2008 and ending January 2025.

NEW AUGUSTA, EA - Aerodyne Inc. today announced the production launch of the next-generation AH-79C Anaconda attack helicopter and SH-79B Barracuda shipborne combat helicopter.

The AH-79C Anaconda and SH-79B Barracuda are based on a common modular airframe and are powered by twin turboshaft engines. Both aircraft feature a elastomeric bearingless/hingeless main rotor (folding in the case of the SH-79B), tandem stepped crashworthy cockpit, digital crew stations and a Kevlar backed carbon-fibre reinforced plastic airframe. Advanced sensors and self-protection systems include third-generation FLIR, mast-mounted 360° low probability of intercept radar and multi-spectral RF and IR countermeasures suites.

Aerodyne Inc. has signed memorandums of understanding (MoU) with a number of governments including the Republic of Zinaire and Autocratic Federated Empire of Akimonad to supply an unspecified number of AH-79C Anaconda’s fitted with APG-78 Longbow fire control radars and armed with M230 Chain Guns; and with the United Kingdom of Antigr to supply SH-79B Barracuda’s with APS-151 mast-mounted radar, automatic deck locking systems, and a folding tail and main rotor. The SH-79B has ~80% of the spot factor of a SH-60 Seahawk, making it an ideal candidate for launching anti-ship, anti-air and airborne early warning missions from destroyer and frigate flight decks.

Seqioua Defence System is pleased to convert the pre-order arrangement with the Royal Navy for the SH-79B Barracuda into a firm order, and agrees to the payment terms offered by Konteramiral Henrikssen on behalf of the Antigran government. The purchase order will cover the 23,380 airframes ordered with complete propulsion, sensors and avionics equipment. Deliveries will be undertaken in 20 tranches during the five year performance of the agreeement, and will begin upon receipt of the first payment installment.

Over time as improvements are made to the SH-79B Barracuda we also undertake to update the products at no additional cost, providing the improved models are accepted for service with the Royal Navy. On behalf of Seqioua Defence System I thank the Royal Navy for its faith and trust in our company, and hope the Antigran government will consider our company when deliberating their future defence needs.

The SH-79B Barracuda shipborne combat helicopter is an attack helicopter platform designed to operate from the deck of a frigates destroyer or assault ship providing an airborne anti-ship and anti-air platform and prompt airborne early warning capability. It is wholly unsuited for the purpose of clay pigeon shooting due to its large downwash and heavy armanent. We would recommend a Robinson R22 Beta, which our industrial partner manufactures under license as a primary trainer for helicopter pilots, or R22 Mariner with floatation gear as a more suitable alternative.

As a result of export restrictions placed upon Aerodyne Inc. by our government it is not possible for us to grant limted domestic production rights in regards to the B-90A Condor and AQ-39B Clarion weapon systems except under exceptional circumstances. Otherwise, Aerodyne Inc. can supply the aircraft under a Fixed Cost Procurement Cointract basis as proposed by the Ustian Ministry of Derence.

In relation to the remaining items our company is prepared to grant LDPRs for a fixed number of airframes which will be at flyaway cost plus a 10% royalty per airframe. Aerodyne Inc. provides the following production and funding options for the Ustian Ministry of Defence: shared production of a small number of aircraft in Etoile Arcture and the remaining bulk in Ustia, or sole production in either Etoile Arcture or Ustia. Response to contract award from Aissurian Ministry of Defense

Our engineers have concluded that it would be possible - though not neccessarily preferable - to configure the AH-79C Anaconda helicopter to carry and fire some Warsaw Pact munitions. This would be enabled through software patches to the avionics, fire control radar and MIL-STD-1760C weapon bus, and some modifications being made to RS-422 interfaces on the stores pylons to transfer signals to the Russian ordnance. Only a limited set of weapons would be possible to be made compatible in this way. These are: Vympel R-73 X-25ML air-to-air missile, up to two on the wingtip launcher rails
Igla-V air-to-air missile, in 2- or 4-tube launcher units
Vikhr-M anti-armour missile, in clusters of 6 for a maximum of 12
S-80 rockets (80 mm), in 20-tube B8V20 launchers for a maxmum of 40 rockets
250 kg FAB-250 bombsSuch modifications will signficantly increase the cost of each aircraft due to the cost of R&D, testing and changes made in the production line.

Aerodyne Inc. agrees to supply the B-90A Condor and AQ-39B Clarion in the quantaties required on a Fixed Cost Procurement Cointract basis. We furthermore agree to grant the Limited Domestic Production Rights to companies in Ustia to produce the A-20A/OA-20A Renegade, F/A-38B Sentinel, MV-44A Pegasus and AV-44A Griffon aircraft. These rights will be granted for a set number of airframes only for each aircraft type, at a contract value calculated from the flyaway cost of each aircraft plus a ten per cent royalty per airframe. If these terms are acceptable we ask the Ustian authorities to supply the number of airfraft it wishes to build and the contractors it will use to allow drawing up of the final contract.

The aircraft will be designated AH-79D Anaconda Block IIIR in service and will be a minimal structural change variant of the basic airframe to allow assembly on existing production lines. the following changes have been made to the design: Deletion of the AN/APG-78(V) Longbow mast-mounted radar.
A new virtual computer running on the current PowerPC-based avionics computers that simulate a Ramenskoye Breo-28N mission control system allowing targetting and firing of Vikhr-M, Igla-V and Vympel R-73 missiles using the current fire control system.
Lens adaptors fitted to the laser rangefinder/designator of the ADAMANT electro-optic sensor to operate at frequencies used by the Vikhr-M missile targeting and guidance system.
Dual interropable Russian/Western stores interface hard points and software patching of the MIL-STD-1760C weapon bus.
Software patching of the SINCGARS and VHF-UHF communication systems adding Russian UHF and VHF frequency sets for air-ground communications.
Fitting of a Russian IFF transponder allowing dual Russian/Western (STANAG 4193) operation.Costing of these changes include a one-off US$150M development fee and a revised flyaway cost of US$39M per aircraft.

OOC: Sorry to clutter this thread with this business, but seeing as how it's becoming pretty widely procured, I thought I should point out a problem with the PH-158/L65A1 that Lei and I noted. The 120km range is several times greater than any RL self-propelled howitzer. I'm not sure if you have a rationale for this or if it was a typo or just a number that you never got around to correcting.

Anyway, I'd appreciate it if you'd address this so my poor soldiers don't end up getting shelled from 120km away (or, if you can back that number up, so I can buy some).

The Scandinvan Empire would like to place an order for 200,000 M35A2 Cataphract Tanks, at the cost of 3,000,000,000,000 dollars.

Once the order is confirmed we send the money for the first 50,000 tanks and will pay for every tank that is signed for by the Scandinvan firms that are performing the transportation of the tanks to the Scandinvan Empire.

The Holy Empire of Anemos Major

IFAM Marine 1st Army Flight Wing, 1st Helicopter Assault

Upon testing the AH-79C, the Holy Empire of Anemos Major has found it to be a very reliable and useable helicopter. However, as of this time Anemos Major is not willing to undergo a complete removal of RAH-66 Comanche helicopters from its armed forces, and so the only unit receiving the AH-79C as of now will be the 1st Helicopter Assault of the Marine Flight Wing.

We would like to order 200 AH-79Cs, which should come to a total of 7.2 billion NSD.

The Imperial Internal Fleet of Anemos Major

In order to upgrade our aging fleet of seaborne helicopters, the Internal Fleet states its intent to purchase 400 SH-79B Barracudas. The total price is 16 billion NSD, which will be sent upon confirmation of the order.

Nerkan Forward OPs is willing to buy

3 talons for the price of 12.6 million USD, or 20 million Nikals.

OOC: The 120 km is correct when using rocket-assisted extended range guided cargo shells. I omitted to add (but now corrected) that with unguided ballsitic shells the range is only 40 km. The gun has a long 65 calibre tube to allow it to achieve those kind of ranges and a large pepperpot muzzle break to deal with the recoil, though firing energy is in the same range as the 120 mm L/55 cannon on the M35A2 Cataphract. I hope that information reassures you as far as performance of the system. I'll address the latest contract awards in a little while.

Sequioa Automotive Systems is willing to grant a limited domestic production rights license to a domestic manufacturer in Ustia to produce the M96 LUMPS II and all its variants. The fee for this transaction is US$10 trillion which will cover production above 4 million units of all versions of the M96 LUMPS II.

I appreciate the information you provided but as neither Sequoia Defence Systems or our government knows anything about your nation or of Earth V, we therefore cannot in all conscience agree to sell this amount of defence equipment at this time to an unfamiliar nation without further reassurance.

Unlike nearly every other storefront, Sequoia Defence Systems does not have a "no questions asked" policy regarding its customers. Our purpose is to support fellow democracies and other sovereign nations in the areas of self defence and detterence.

SDS would be willing to reconsider this decision if Military Command can show it is a pluralistic democratic i.e. having multi-party politics as well as holding elections, and that the weapons it requires will be used soley for the purposes of legitimate self protection.

I wish to thank the War Department for their patience and the information they have provided to our company. I am pleased to inform you that our government has approved export licenses to Military Command and were are accessing how best to supply such a substantial order. If the War Department still intends to continue with this order, we believe the best way to proceed will be to structure your order in a multi-year production agreement split into a number of tranches so as not to overwhelm our production capacity. Our estimates are that it will take up to 25 years to produce all the ordered aircraft and 5 years to produce all the ordered ground vehicles. If this is satisfactory our company is willing to commence deliveries from existing stocks as we increase production capacity. Furthermore, our company will reduce the contract value by 1 billion US Dollars in recognition to delays encountered with your order.

OOC: Actually, my MAFIA brought slaves from Unkerlantum that was part of a sub-plot for an uprising I was going to do in my colony. It however didn't get off the ground. It wasn't my government but it was the Lynion Mafia that bought the slaves from Unkerlantum
