((OOC: A question on war, move this if needed))
((Alright, I read the stickies, I've seen what seems to be some average wars, and I've seen a what is referred to as a total noob-fest. My question is, how exactly do I get into war, which I am interested in but don't know how to RP successfully. As far as I saw, the stickies don't go into creating war, just what you do once you're in it. Link if you know something I missed, or just explain it to me, please.))
there are several ways to join/create a war. You can find another nation that is looking for trouble and telegram/pm them asking if you have permission to attack them(don't attack anyone over 2x your current military strength by the way)(not recommended for noobs), you can create a puppet(another nation) that you make up a reason to invade(best to mention this when you start the thread, or people will think your a warmongering noob and kick your a$$), or you can send troops into another nation when they announce they're being invaded/are in a civil war(what i usually do, there is usually one or two always up) ,etc
Well, there was an idea I was considering, and I'd like to ask II if this would be alright for a PMT nation. In the wargame Warhammer 40,000, one of the armies in the backstory (Space Marines)takes a promising human warrior and 'upgrades' him by implanting twenty organs in him and giving him highly advanced training and weapons. There is a stage in the interim between his complete initiation and receiving his implants, in which he has not recieved his power armor or the implant that allows him to wear it, thus making him less powerful than a true space marine. So my question is, would be acceptable to have a small amount of soldiers who have been upgraded, and possibly with only some of the upgrades? Upgrades are found here. EDIT: Excuse me for not clarifying, I am proposing the ability to have not-quite-super-soldiers(I.e almost SM Scouts.)

It depends upon what time period that you are playing in. PMT, for the most part, generally takes place around 2050, give or take a few decades. The thechnology you are describing would be OK for, say, A.D.2075 tech by my own estimate.
Also, remember to take into account the cost of outfitting this force. The super soldiers that you are describing appear to be quite expensive to produce and train, so they would be restricted to a small force. Having them perform special operations would be the best investment.
should be all right, most of the nations here play semi pmt anyway and long as you don't go overboard with it you should be fine, if you use them in any wars make sure to have their abilities and such spelled out in your factbook. also ^ makes some good points.

As for wars, I'd suggest first building up your nation a bit and building up your military in equipment, trainings, and so forth. Diplomacy - embassies, making allies, and so forth - is best to start off with so that in the event things get to heated where you'll need support, it'll hopefully be readily available.
As for the 'upgraded soldiers', that'd be the call of those who are in your specific RP. PMT it's POSSIBLE, FT there should be no problem. For obvious reasons, MT it wouldn't fly.
And as for creating or joining a war? Well, once you build up your forces, you can simply do something like genocide or slave trading if you're looking to invite trouble, or you could declare war on a nation who you see doing that if you're rather preferring to be the 'good guy' instead. Obviously, then, there's the war's that are already going/just starting, in which case hop on it (assuming it's opened, if its semi-open then you'll need to get permission to join first), announcing your declaration of war (ensure correct spelling and grammar) and prepare your troops to launch (you don't "magically" appear there, remember)
For more specific info or questions, let any of us know. :)
Well, in response to the numbers part, I have a military force of 840,000(entire). That means that about 140k of that is active combat personnel. Out of that, I'd guess there would be 500 Marines(for lack of a better term) possible, about 250 actual. Numbers not a problem. The whole point of the Marines would be deep strike, assasination, etc. They would have extremely heavy(but still conventional) body armour. They can carry a machine gun and ammo for it themselves, but they can't flip an Abrams. Excellent marksmen, superb close-combat skills. Any problems, say so.

I myself would suggest getting into some smaller scale RP's, like character-focused ones and the like to familiarize yourself with the RP climate around here. Some people are really good and paint a beautiful picture with the English language. Other people make a mockery of the written word.
Wars are hard things to RP since most people (that I've tried to RP wars against) aren't going to recognize any sort of tactics beyond tank-rushes or massive aerial bombardments. They have no concept of logistics or true strategy.
The factbook thing would also be a good idea, less need to fully explain every single unit in your military every single time you get into a war. Easier just to post a link to your factbook page, that way references can be done quickly and painlessly.
