"My Lord, we are approaching the Aaronian border."

"Very good. That will be all."

The guard nodded and left, closing the door behind him. Emperor Marcus Riektal sat in his plane as it neared the borders of the Aaronian Empire. He was situated behind his impressive crescent-shaped desk, as he eagerly waited to land on the ground. This would be the first official alliance the Holy Imperium would officially enter into since it came out of isolation. His father would have been proud. He had always wanted the Holy Imperium to make new friends among the world. Only in his mid-twenties, Emperor Marcus Riektal had only been Emperor for two and a half years, following the sudden death of his father, the late Anticus Riektal. Since then, he had adjusted to the role quite well, proving to provide the firm leadership his father had given, with the ambition to lead Angenteria into becoming a modern superpower. He had shaken hands with the president of Lamoni. He had attended a conference of world leaders. He had authorized the supply of weapons to Fictionian rebels, in hope of toppling their oppressive dictatorship regime.

The plane reached closer to the Aaronian Border, escorted by a pair of Imperial Guard interceptor jets. The pilots sent a message to Aaronian ground authorities.

"This is Angenteria One, requesting permission to land."

"This is Aaronia Tower, you are cleared to land on runway 36 D. Left hand traffic pattern" This seemed like an innocuous transmission between the control tower and an incoming plane, but in fact this was the first time that a foreign plane had been allowed to land on runway 36 D as it was reserved for Emperors and Emperor Riektal was the first to arrive on it, other than Emperor Aaron himself. There was a military escort awaiting the plane's landing so as to show Riektal the way to the conference room in the Emperor's Palace.

"This is Aaronia Tower, you are cleared to land on runway 36 D. Left hand traffic pattern."

The response was sent quickly and efficiently.

Copy that, Arronia Tower, proceeding to runway 36D.

The plane corrected course, righting itself as to land on the designated runway. The Emperor returned to the flight cabin, and fastened his seat belt in preparation for the landing.

"Just a minute longer, My Lord. We'll be on the ground soon." The pilot's voice crackled through the intercom.

The plane's landing gear popped out, and Marcus gazed out the window, viewing the landscape of the Aaronian Empire as it passed by. A few minutes later, the plane touched down on the runway, and came to a successful halt. Marcus stood up, as two royal guards, their white armorshining and rifles held at their waists, came to his flanks. Marcus nodded slightly, acknowledging them with a curt greeting. Together, they moved to the doors of the plane.

"Well...here goes."

The door swung open, and Marcus stepped into the daylight.

He was met by two lines of Aaronian soldiers in full military dress. At the end was Admiral of the Navy Telkah to greet Emperor Riektal and be his official escort in the city of Aaronia. "Welcome, Emperor Riektal to the glorious Aaronian Empire, I am Admiral of the Navy Telkah" his voice boomed over the completely still Aaronian soldiers

"Welcome, Emperor Riektal to the glorious Aaronian Empire, I am Admiral of the Navy Telkah" his voice boomed over the completely still Aaronian soldiers."

Emperor Riektal was quite impressed with the military greeting given to him by the Aaronians. Only a year ago, he was greeting the Lamonian President in such a similar manner. Now he knew how it felt to receive such a greeting.

"Thank you for receiving me, Admiral Telkah." he began "It is an honor to be received by the Aaronian Empire in such good spirits. It is our hope that we may establish a long-lasting relationship between our two great empires."

"That is my hope as well. If you and your men would like to get into the limo, we will take you to the Palace," replied Telkah as a hummer limo pulled up. "If you wish, I will ride with you to answer any questions you may have"

"That would be most...enlightening." Marcus said, stepping into the limo qith his bodyguards.

They rode through the city until they got to the near center where the palace was located. The palace had billboards of companies all around it and large portions of the wall were dedicated to Wolftech. It was a shining golden building. "Completely financed through advertising," explained Telkah as the pulled into the subterranean garage. The got of the limo and started heading through security.

Riding up to the Aaronian Imperial palace was quite something to behold. It was both a beautiful shining gold structure and a bulletin board for major corporations. Marcus couldn't help but be both impressed and saddened at the sight of the structure, but decided not to show the latter feeling as the sight disappeared, overcome by the underground garage.

"With Wolftech as the primary financier? What do they produce?" He asked curiously.

"They are mostly a weapons manufacturer, but they also produce medicine, special drought resistance crops and a wide assortment of plastic products" replied Platao. "We in Aaronia pride ourselves in free enterprise. We help finance public works such as libraries through advertising. For example, the 6 Wolftech public library was opened in a small town about 50 miles from here yesterday." This use of the private sector to benefit the lives of everyone has always been one of Emperor Aaron's crowning achievements thought Platao as he looked toward the last advertisement. They got out of the limo and headed into the elaborate elevator with light music playing. "Do you have any musical preference? This thing takes five minutes to take us to the correct floor and then across the building. Say the song or type and it will come on"

"Interesting. Emperor Aaron sounds like quite a person." Marcus said. He was looking forward to meeting him. He had never met another Emperor before. He walked up the music console, thinking of a song. "Let me see...I bet it doesn't have techno!" He typed the song Money Shot, by Yannis Kamarinos (OOC: Also known as the techno twins song) into the console. He made a mental note to install one of these in the Imperial Palace elevators.

The song came on instantly when Telkah said, "This was also made by the Wolftech Computer division," and yes the Emperor is great." He finished this sentence as the doors opened and they proceeded down a hallway that led to large Golden doors. The plating depicted the only air battle in the Aaronian revolution, in which Aaron himself shot down 3 planes. The music followed them down the hallway.
"You can come in," came a voice through the overhead speaker
Telkah looked over and said, "Are you ready? He will ask you about the traffic and tell you about today's weather. Old habits, you know"

Marcus gazed at the depictions on the walls as he was led down the hallway. It was quite impressive, depicting an air battle. Planes zigzagged two and fro, guns going off, missiles firing, and the like. Arriving at a large door, Telkah turned and addressed him.

"Are you ready? He will ask you about the traffic and tell you about today's weather. Old habits, you know"
Marcus chuckled slightly. "Traffic was fine, and weather was perfect. Got it."

Marcus walked in and Emperor Aaron said, "Great to see you, my friend. I hope traffic was okay, and I hope you enjoy the great weather we're having, 70 degrees Fahrenheit and not a cloud in the sky. Great day to be alive isn't it? ...I was worried there was going to be some commotion today. If you haven't heard... I decided to give the people a voice through a Senate." Aaron showed Marcus a chair on one side of a table. The image on the table depicted the naval battle at Kroston, from when the island colony rebelled. "Would you like anything to eat or drink" Aaron was in a very good mood today. He was finally having an emperor to emperor talk about an alliance between nations.

Stepping into the room, Marcus was a comforted slightly by the familiarity of Emperor Aaron. Although his life seemed to thrive around it, Marcus was never one for protocol. He was glad he could drop it all now that they were behind closed doors.

"The trip was fine, thanks for asking." He replied. It certainly was a good day, all things considered. When you're Emperor, you tend to kind of forget about things like the weather. Usually gets lost in a sea of protocol and Imperial orders.

...I was worried there was going to be some commotion today. If you haven't heard... I decided to give the people a voice through a Senate.

"A Senate?" Marcus replied, a hint of surprise in his voice. Why didn't people tell him about these things? Well, whatever. "That's good to know. I think it's important that the people be able to say what's on their minds. Word to the wise, though: senatorial politics is just like fighting a war. The battles are no less intense, but at least you get wine and these finger foods. And you can't let yourself get involved in that squabbling nonsense. As Emperors, we're above that sort of thing." Even though Marcus was only Emperor for two and a half years, he was already quite familiar with the Council of High Lords, the elected body of Angenterian government, and the age-old arena that was politics. As Emperor, he was above it all, of course, but still kept tabs on happenings in the council. "Oh, and perhaps a glass of wine? Whatever your preference." He intended to raise a toast to Aaronian and Angenterian relations. It isn't often two Emperors meet nowadays.

A man in a suit walked in carrying a bottle and two glasses. He set the glasses in front of them and poured. He then left the room.
"You don't have to worry, my people are very loyal to me. They will probably vote in people who loyal. Just in case, I gave myself full veto power. Oh, and the wine is 30 years old from the vineyards outside of Sandio. The very best in Aaronia... Now let's discuss this alliance," said Aaron. This was his first time speaking directly to another Emperor in person, other than Franklinian. However, when he was done speaking to Franklinian, he ordered an execution. He was happy to be here discussing this great day in Aaronian history.

"Very nice." Marcus commented, holding the glass to his nose, taking a sniff. In all actuality, it really he never really went for wines, but it was the 'classy' drink apparently, so he went along with it. He straightened up.

"Yes, down to business." He began. "To start off, we should include all the usual provisions. You know the like, free and open trade, mutual defense pacts, sharing of scientific discoveries, that sort of thing. Is that good so far?"

"That sounds good. I think we should each set up a single military base in each other's nations as well. Also, we may want to specify certain materials we could trade on the large scale. What are some of the largest produced goods in your nation and what are the least?" Aaron said as he called for the waiter to bring him some whiskey produced outside of Aaronia city.

IC: "Alright, maybe we could have a joint military exercise while we're at it." Marcus replied, going over the thought in his mind. "You know, show each others boys a few tricks." He nodded. "As for trade, we do quite well in weapons manufacturing and technology, but we're always looking for more oil and natural gas. Angenteria seems to be devoid of the two." Or at least that was what his advisers told him.

The Emperor was glad to hear this, "Wolftech is our primary weapons manufacturer but they don't provide the range of weaponry needed in our military operations. Would you be willing to trade military vehicles. Also, the Empire currently has an extreme surplus in oil since we struck when we were setting up a new colony (ooc: colony is now called oiltown) and we have plenty of natural gas as well." Aaron pressed a few buttons on the desk and a map of a circular and well fortified town came out of a slot. "we have also finished building a mock town for military exercises that I think would serve our purposes well. We can use flour rounds and do siege and defense practice simultainiously." Aaron passed the copy over to to Marcus. "As you can see, it has a port to the East where naval practice can be performed, as well as an airfield inside and outside of the town."

(ooc: i'll make a map on ms paint tomorrow, and sorry about your comp, that has to suck. What OS do you have?)

Marcus studied the map carefully, taking in the surroundings of the area. "Yes, this will do." He said, before passing it back to Emperor Aaron. "May the best military win." He wanted to his how his troops would fare against another empire's, but that would have to wait. There was business to attend to first. "Now, is there anything else I may be forgetting?" He pondered to himself for a moment.

"Well, there's embassies, technology and trade, free trade and military cooperation. We could do some art trades through the Aaronian National Museum. also, would you like to defend or attack first?" said Aaron as he sipped his Whiskey

(OOC: Windows XP. It worked fine for years, then it just kinda...stopped. I don't know either.)

IC: "Art trades?" Marcus asked. "That sounds appropriate." The Holy Imperium had a wealth of art to show off, mostly religious art, based on their unique religion, venerating their first Emperor as a prophet. "As for embassies, I believe we've already established such buildings, according to our records." He thought for a moment. "I believe we shall attack first, seeing it's your country, after all."
