After years of isolation caused by hurricanes, economic calamities, and presidential assassination attempts, (irl, I had problems getting on the forum), the USA returns to the world stage.
We note the world has changed in our absence. There are new hopes and new dangers. Old allies may have become enemies and old enemies may have become friends.
We want the world to know that we shall be friends with those who seek friendship and peace and who do not bully or threaten world peace. We will fight against those nations who seek to start unjust world wars or to conquer soverign nations or steal their lands for unjust causes.
It is the doctrine of these United States that the only viable reasons for sending troops into the territory of another state without consent is:
1. To stop genocide.
2. To eliminate a sponsor of terrorism.
3. In defense of an ally that has been unjustly attacked.
4. In defense of one's own homeland when under attack.

Further, the UnitedStates will not trade with any nation run by communists or crazed dictators. We understand that this will not impact such nations much as there are plenty of immoral anti democratic nations out there willing to trade with those who engage in genocide and support terrorism. America is not such a nation. Therefore, America will not trade with any nation that has trade ties to sponsors or terrorism, genocide, or that engage in regional bullying.

The best defense is to be capable of great offense. Therefore, to secure peace and prosperity for our nation and for those who seek to be America's freinds and allies, I have ordered a total restructuring and upgrading of America's military establishment, including its nuclear arsenal. America will establish space based nuclear missiles capable of providing a deterrent to unreasonable warmongers on both the moon and the earth.
America's colony on the moon has grown and prospered during our recent turmoils and has suffiecient economic strength and population that I ask Congress to approve their request for statehood as the new state of Lunaria. I look forward to the day when Martian America will also become a state with equal rights and privileges with the other 55 states.

America will sign peace agreements with communists, I just wont trade with them. But if they are attacked unjustly, I'll send my army to help them defend their territory.

It has come to our attention that you wish to open diplomatic relations with the world but that you only seek nations with a devotion to the maintenance of human rights. We are one of those nations for the basic human rights which we take for granted are enshrined in our constitution and in the ideas of Thomas Spence, our namesake, who spent his entire life working for the betterment of all society regardless of age and gender centuries ago. Our constitution says, for example, that the right of property is "that which belongs to every citizen to enjoy and dispose of according to his pleasure" and that each citizen is guaranteed a voice in the government of the nation in the hopes that all basic necessities shall be satisfied. A nation such as the United States of America can only recieve our warmest regards and constant admiration and, therefore, we would be honored to open diplomatic relations with your nation in the name of solidarity between two democratic nations in which are vested only the clear knowledge that the people ought to reign above all and that a parliament is the people's servant.

Though the majority of Beddgelens consider the strategic actions of such a minor nation as the US beneath concern, talk from another reactionary state of orbital nuclear arms deployment raises a few eyebrows in Soviet India.

From the turrets of Portmeirion, the Commonwealth Final Soviet warns that such aggressive moves, coupled with overt anti-Communist rhetoric, will be matched by the Commonwealth Guard's preparation of further anti-satellite weaponry by which to neutralise the bourgeois threat. The People's Cosmonautical Co-operative will be tasked with placing new hard and soft kill equipped orbiters in operation, and in co-operation with air defence command initiatives will work to decrease the response time of ground and atmospheric based interceptors.

There has been no responsive move to increase the Commonwealth's own offensive nuclear capacity, despite ever increasing reactionary provocations.

As a former British colony and later a small territory of the United States The Republic of Twin Dominions has a long and proud history of American inhabitants. It is with great honor we salute the President of the Step Mother Country.

The US accepts diplomatic relations and alliances with all who have stated their intentions to establish such ties.

The US proposes direct talks Soviet India to discuss the issue nuclear weapons. Our deployments are only defensive in nature as I am sure Soviet India's are.

In a rather historic move, the Final Soviet has voted to allow direct discussions with the authorities presiding in a state deemed to be a 'hostile reactionary entity', and elected to invite the Americans to either send representation to Raipur or to host a Soviet delegation in their capital.

The only question, would the capitalists risk a trip to the heart of Soviet India, or would they risk inviting an Igovian Communist to the heart of their state?

The US formally invites the leadership of Soviet India to Washington for direct talks.
(I'm rping the NS USA, not the real one. Trying to do the real thing would be a tidy bit difficult seeing as how a lot of people use rl US territory to rp their nations.)

The USA is evaluating its relationship with the Ryou Black Islands. This reevalution is in line with our new docrtine of opposing communism, terrorism, genocide, and ethnic cleansing and promoting religious freedom and right to own private property.

(OOC: Of course! My nation is farrrr from the real India! We have a 40% Celtic population, and only a handful of Muslims in what should be Pakistan and Bangladesh. We occupy the same territory, but otherwise!..)

Comrade Graeme Igo, though holding no particular offcial post, is considered to be the ideological father of Beddgelert, and has been dispatched to the USOA on behalf of the Soviet Commonwealth.

Igo, being equivalent to the likes of Karl Marx in being father of an ideology, is almost considred beyond threats, and as such travels with a light bodyguard. He heads for the USOA aboard a four-engine Marathon turboprop with just four escorts, two Celtic men, one woman, and a Dravidian man.

As he walked onto the tarmac, with his wife, the military band played hail to the chief. In accordance with American tradition, a red carpet was nearby, to be rolled out to the plane of the visiting dignitary.
Igo's aircraft would be escorted by 5 F16's once it entered US airspace, to protect it against terrorist threats. The route along which his plane would fly had been declared off limits to civilian aircraft.
After the Marathon landed, the military band played Soviet India's national anthem as Igo emerged from the door of the aircraft, the red carpet having been unrolled for him.
The US Marine Corps National Color Guard group of 20 lining either side of the carpet snapped to present arms.

The Marathon touched down softly, and reversed engines in order to come to an impressively short stop. The Soviet Indians were keen to show the efficiency and precision of their technology and make clear the fact that their Igovian Socialist economy was far removed from that of any Marxist-Leninist backwater. The Maraton was a lot like a late-model C-130 Hercules except that it was slightly larger, and in this case it was outfitted as a diplomatic transport and extremely comfortable inside.

Igo emerged looking incredibly un-Indian, and almost as un-Celtic. He was something of an exception. Hailing from the Geletian Celtic Cornovii tribe (Cornovii meaning people of the horn, horn being translatable as 'peninsula') he was raised in the extreme south of India, on the borders of Kerala and Tamil Nadu Soviet States, and should have been a titan of a man. Geletian men averaged two metres in height! But Igo was nowhere near that. He was short in any country other than maybe North Korea and Vietnam. A veritable dwarf in his homeland.

But he was an ideological titan. He authored On Communism (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=532748), explaining his views, and they took hold in Beddgelert and in two or three foreign states. His supporters hoped that he was the Karl Marx of the C21st. He had no particular political office in Beddgelert -he was just any other civilian- but if he spoke, people would listen. His three male Celtic guards were giants, all had -unfortunately- mullets and thick, long moustaches. Warrior hair-styling. Past combat experience indicated that none of them were likely to fall to a single gunshot wound, even a full-calibre rifle round to the chest, and all were capable of tearing a man's head from his shoulders. The Celtic woman wasn't much less formidable, and the Dravidian man was much smaller but well trained and committed to the death to the Igovian-Socialist cause.

The US holds that it is the right of every nation to deploy the systems necessary for the defense of their territory and their freedoms.
Further, it is no longer US policy to use military force to dictate what form foriegn governments may take. The President of the United States beleives it is up to the people of fighter4u and Vhammpyr to decide what form of government they will have.
However, if they engage in policies that contradict American values we cannot, in good conscience trade with them because trading with nations that support terrorism, piracy, genocide, or who unjustly attack their neighbors is the same as endorsing those behaviors. America holds that no nation has a right to support piracy, terrorism nor does any nation have the right to engage in genocide.
Any attempt on the part of any nation to block the legitimate deployment of self defensive forces by the US, it's friends or its allies will be tantamount to an act of war on the US.

Hearing an American band play The Red Flag (Soviet India's national anthem) in the US capital and in the presence of the President was enough to put Igo in an amiable mood. As he approached President Johnson, returning rather casual salutes to the Marines lining his way and pointedly walking immediately beside the red carpet, he was humming and mumbling along, '...Then raise the scarlet standard high, within its shade we'll live and die... Ah, Mr.President!" He said on reaching Johnson, though he was tempted to address him in the would-be Igovian manner (which would have been Comrade Chief-of-State, Head-of-Government, and Commander-in-Chief).

While Igo offered to shake the President's hand, the People's Cosmonautical Co-operative was still busy tracking the courses of American satellites and detailing exactly what was thought to be what in order to prioritise targets in the event of a conflict.
