Leichstur

Tony sat alone in his office one afternoon. He'd just gotten through another meeting of The Council of the Reichland a few minutes ago and he was now back in the privacy of his office where he felt he could openly doubt Martin's new direction...in his thoughts anyway.
Tony was losing faith in his once good friend. He'd willingly served Martin's father who was determined to bring equality that couldn't be defined by Democracy or Communism. When Martin came to ascend the throne he'd told Tony he was going to take up his father's dream.
For awhile, Tony saw that dream coming to reality. However, when Martin announced the Principality was now a Fascist state he nearly spit out his cup of tea all over his desk. Tony's great grandfather, a veteran of WWII, had seen personally what Fascism does to people and when he would tell Tony as a young boy the many battles he had fought in the name of liberating Germany from Hitler and the horrors he faced on the way Tony could only imagine them.
Now he feared living them himself. But this time he would be the one on the end of his great grandfather's rifle and not beside him.
His hands began to shake nervously as he felt the incredible shame he had brought onto his family for being a reluctant mastermind in this agenda.
He needed some closure...he needed some peace of mind.
He quickly grabbed a blank piece of paper and pen from his desk draw and began to write a letter.
Dear Svetlana,
How i've missed you my darling. I've been wanting to hold you again for so long. But I fear that more than ever showing any kind of affectionate to you infront of Martin would spur his paranoia.
You've no doubt heard the news of his new regime. There was no greater shame for me than having to stand next to him on that balcony overlooking the parade ground as he saluted the marching zealots of his army and the press from around the world took pictures.
I know its been awhile since we've last talked and I apologize. I wanted to let Martin's sudden adrenaline rush from his new found power settle into him before contacting anyone outside of Leichstur. But I couldn't contain myself any longer. I had to speak to you somehow and this is the best solution for now.
I'm hoping Empress Anastasia finds some reason to send you to Leichstur some time soon. God knows my nerves wont settle and my mind wont calm until we've atleast been able to see one another.
Love,
Tony
He folded the letter neatly and attempted to imagine the look on her face when she'd finally received it. He couldn't wait for a response but he'd have to if he wanted to keep himself from being pulled in a dozen different emotional directions right now.
He placed the letter into the envelope and closed it, sealing the slip with a wax seal. The red wax had the print of a large L in it.
He personally took it down to the post office and mailed it, not trusting anyone even his secretary with anything personal anymore.

OOC: I'm going to assume that Svetlana (http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/mutantxbucket/normal_1209380570.jpg) and Tony are already in love just so we get to the intended goal more faster than if she has to be convinced with loving him. Don't worry about a backstory as I've got one in mind. :D
It was a well known fact that the Ixanian Empire's friendship would be bestowed upon the nations which subscribed to the extremes of the left and right wing system and the newly made Fascist nation of Leichstur was no exception to this fact as was seen in the diplomatic overtures both nations made to each other in the past months. Svetlana Sturmer was the woman who had sealed the friendship that the nations had created between them in stone and it was her who secretly had a love affair with the assistant of the Prince of Leichstur although they'd only gone as far as exchanging words of love and kisses with the ultimate pleasure being shrouded in midst. It was on one seemingly simple autumn day that Svetlana had recieved a letter from the man she loved. She hadn't heard from him in some time and that worried her as it would have been expected and after having breakfast with a quick bath, she immediately proceeded to read over the letter which filled her with much hope and a desire that the Empress would send her soon to Leichstur so she could meet the man she loved. It wasn't known to her, though, what she would be doing in the next several months since no new missions were mentioned at the Foreign Ministry's headquarters where she worked alongside the happily married Foreign Minister of Ixania whose pleasant life made Svetlana wonder if she would marry Tony and have children with him one day which, truth be told, wasn't something she contemplated since she was a little girl under the loving direction of her parents long ago. She got dressed in her business suit and went out to work as she would always do every day of the week. She had no clue that the Empress of Ixania and the highest ranking diplomat in the land would be discussing their intention to send her to Leichstur for the renewal of relations.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I think Svetlana ought to go to Leichstur since she's already familiar with the nation. It seems to me that their Fascist rulers are willing to accept our offers to renew our friendship which makes me quite pleased."
The Empress had invited Ivan Rucinsky to have breakfast with her while they discussed the upcoming mission to Leichstur because it seemed more convenient with both of them sitting calmly at the exquisite dinner table where they were given the freshest food and beverages around as would be expected in the Imperial Palace for obvious reasons. Ivan was dressed in a simple suit while the Empress wore a lovely autumn dress which was really just one out of many dresses that she was fond of wearing during the weeks. It was Ivan Rucinsky who suggested that Svetlana be sent to Leichstur because of her familiarity with the nation and it was the Empress who assented to that suggestion while taking a sip from her beverage before smiling at one of the most trusted men she had around. She hadn't been seen much in political meetings, though, since it was said that the Empress had been intended to marrying someone she had met but no one knew who that person had been but they regardlessly wished her well since all of them were intensely loyal to the woman they called Her Majesty the Empress of Ixania.
"You seem to have it all worked out, Ivan, so I believe you should send Svetlana as soon as possible to Leichstur with the hopes she will come across success again." The Empress said in her refined voice; obviously a product of the classes she took as a child. "I trust Svetlana fully with this mission because she has constantly proven herself to be quite the hard worker and devoted subject to the Crown. She's one of the best people we have in our court."
Ivan nodded in agreement. It was him who had taken Svetlana Sturmer under his wing when she started out as a minor diplomat near the bottom of the pyramid and it was he who helped her rise through the ranks. He didn't know that Svetlana was having a romance in Leichstur but he probably wouldn't have thought it to be harmful. She never seemed to have an interest in men, he noticed, but it was more so her fanatical devotion to work that prevented her from having one rather than any possibly secret lesbian inclinations. As a married man with children, Ivan Rucinsky knew how fun it was to have someone at your side.
Breakfast did not last too long and it ended with the Empress taking her leave of the Foreign Minister to walk her faithful canine companion around the palace affectionately while Ivan walked out of the palace with some words of kindness to the maids who loved to meet him. He was married but never lost his touch among the women. At times, he would even flirt with them if only to make them happy and appreciated. He was an icon of the modern day chivalry many Ixanians cherished. In the limosuine he had appropiated for himself for his own personal use, Ivan contacted Svetlana at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry where she had been working in her office with the same old passion she always had for her work. She was looking at the letter when she heard Ivan's voice on her phone and it made her hope he was going to send her straight to Leichstur; she cherished him not as much as she did Tony but that was only because he was such a good friend. His wife was pretty amiable as well.
"Svetlana, I have a new mission for you and I'm hope you are up to the task of renewing relations with the Principality of Leichstur this week. Travel arrangements will be secured for you as usual." Ivan said calmly as he looked out the window at a newly opened store he planned on visting in the future. They had something that his wife would surely enjoy having as a gift from the man she loved.
Svetlana was internally ecstatic and felt like dancing all around her office but she restrained the emotions bubbling within her frame as she calmly listened to Ivan speak over the phone about how she was expected to serve the Crown faithfully during this mission as she had always been expected to be doing as was part of the duties affixed to her post. Svetlana simply said she would do what she was told and that made Ivan happy from the other end. When the conversation ended, Ivan didn't hear Svetlana try to restrain a scream since he not only hanged up his phone but was also focused on heading back home for a moment to see his wife. He intended to take a break off work for a while so he could go on a vacation with the woman he gave all sorts of fanciful names such as the Shining Jewel of My Life.
As a message was being sent to the leaders of the Government of Leichstur by the usual channels within the Ixanian Empire, Svetlana immediately began writing up a letter to send to the man she loved so he would know that she was coming back to his nation. She knew that they were both madly in love with one another and perhaps they could go on a tour of Leichstur together without all the accompanying politics; and, perhaps, he'd even ask her to be his wife. If that did happen, though, she'd immediately ask him about where they would live since she still had the passionate love of Ixania within her heart which held a so far firm balance with her love for Tony Gifford. She could become Svetlana Gifford or Svetlana Sturmer-Gifford but that was an irrevalent matter in her mind. The letter she wrote was sent to Tony as she went to a local cafe and then spent the day enjoying herself in various ways.
Dear Tony,
I was overjoyed to recieve your letter after that seemingly long absence of any letters from you in my mailbox which made me a tad worried about your well being with all the political turmoil in your nation right now but I'm not worried any more since it seems to me that you are alright. I'm writing this letter to tell you that I'm going to be sent to Leichstur again, this week, and perhaps we can spend some time with each other when I'm finished meeting with Leichstur's representatives. Perhaps we could visit the diverse places of Leichstur together and see what they all have in store for us? I'm hopeful that we can spend more time together although I'm sure you could always visit me in Ixania some time which would be absolutely pleasurable in my mind. I hope to see you soon, my love, and I hope our nations will stay good friends.
Sincerely,
Svetlana.
