On this, the 12th of June 2010, His Majesty the Emperor here by calls up the Waldenburger Legion to serve and protect the interests and insure the continuity freedom of humanity and Christian civilization as a whole. The Office of the Imperial Foreign Service is hereby authorized to employ volunteers, both civilian and military, mercenaries, privateers, contractors and other services in defense and possible operations for the defense of civilization as a whole and Waldenburg and her subsidiary dioceses across the sea. It would be apparent to any nation or man that the needs of this formation are great and will, in perhaps only a small way, defeat a greater evil from sweeping the earth away.

Roll them out! The Legion has formed and it needs you! Travel the world; kill a Goth and receive pay, bonuses, pillage and honor. Under the command of a multinational command structure the Legion needs men to fight the good fight, and is ready to enlist those who are ready! Fight with newest technology in uniforms so smart they have several post nominal letters; in the skies or on the ground the Legion takes liberty with it like a light and defeat the armies so readily poised to expand themselves on the weak nations whose honor must be upheld. To Whom It May Concern:

As you may or may not know, a great enemy is poised to strike Waldenburg and her allies. Though we do not, and cannot expect a great level of devotion to ourselves or our alliance we must hope that at least there is logic to dictate your course. There will always be those nations who wish to expand themselves through force and there will always be those who are conquered to fulfill such a need. In the face of such force, as posed by our own Gothic adversaries and their pack of jackals, you must ask yourself which will you be when the time draws near for another great push conqueror or conquered?

I will not throw myself before you and beg for support but I will offer a chance to fight candidly, to provide for your futures without damaging your present. If you send men, money, supplies, or any form of aide it shall not go unrewarded both by our victory and in what we may afford to send in return. Consider this my plea, and my heartfelt hope that no nation is ever faced with such a decision as I must. I hope, my fellow leaders of the world, that when the dawn breaks I am still amongst you and the morning proves more palatable to the world than the night before.

Let it be known that I will offer sixteen ounces for every Gothic soldier that is a confirmed kill by any member of the Legion as a bounty and in duality with normal pay. Oppositely we will be requesting ninety-seven cents for every Grestonian killed, as it is our firm intent to kill them all. Pontean Soldier Prepares to Resist Invasion


News funnels to our beloved homeland of the foreign invasion of the Pontean colony of Neuvo Italia, her cities, and illustrious institutions will soon be under the guns of a foreign and terrifying power. So what does this paper have to say about it when million of jackbooted monsters come marching through bent on domination and with a force of millions at their back? We say who cares what happens to monsters? Did we not see the same situation with the Tooxpians and what happened to them you may wonder? Millions of them perished in forced labor camps while digging a canal for their new Mediterranican overlords!

I had, over the course of the last few days, the pleasure of speaking with His Majesty the Emperor on numerous occasions and he assures me that this Gothic threat is as tangible as a winter breeze, unnerving perhaps but ultimately can be defeated by putting on a second layer or donning a hat. And I say to those now fighting across the region for the liberation of the old countries and in defense of the new ideals of the MU and her allies, putting on a hat will be slightly more difficult than repulsing the invader. And to those who fight against I say sleep well in your beds tonight for tomorrow you shall have neither sleep nor beds, as you shall be running; not back to Easen or Westminster but with a hop, skip and a jump towards hell with Pontean soldiers following you all the way.

However on the prudent advice of His Most Gracious Imperial Majesty our Eastern allies shall not be having all the fun as the First Army of the Waldenburger Legion shall be shipping out within the week to join the defenses in the East and then take part in the offensive. As of yet exact dates and force deployments have not been released however we assure our readers that the Empire is on the move and our allies will not have reason to be cry our inactivity; let us only hope that our lads arrive before our enemies depart.

All across the world tonight we have reason to celebrate; in Hemlichstern the enemy starves, in Greston they cower behind their allies, and in the hearts of every Gothic citizen beats not their own cadence of war but the more uplifting beat of Mediterranican boots clumping ever forwards.

Actually it would be reedit in all actuality, but anyway, I'm going to keep a running list of articles there so nobody has to wade through pages and pages of OOC to find these small things, so now the news articles will act as bumps and they'll all be in one easily accessible place.

@ Vrak: As for mercenaries or anyone who can stand up in fact we'll be willing to pay for, freelancers, civilians, logistical support, anything to assist.

Despite our previous disagreements and the various wars fought between our peoples for the dominance of the Old Empire we view our goals and ideals finally at a cross roads and our ultimate goals are indeed quite similar. At this time we would greatly prefer not to be subjugated to a foreign dominion and remain free. To a tee we wish to see our region intact and the Goth beaten back.

At this time it would be inadvisable to commit our nation at its full capacity for war, we wish to make a gift to the legion; we wish to halt the advance of the foreign aggressor and commit to our defense. To march with the Legion Chukacon offers sixty divisions of mixed branch military, and one hundred thousand tons of supplies every month that the legion is on the move.

Further more we hear that the legion is prepared to leave the Waldenburgish continent, perhaps the journey would be less strenuous if Legion soldiers could land in Chukacon and move through allied territories to their various fronts? It is merely a suggestion, however we realize this war is not a war of nations but a war of people’s and that, in the case of imminent invasion we must all put our shoulders to the wheel and prepared to push.

Let me begin this message by insisting that this letter does not reach any hands beyond your own, and that it is destroyed immediately upon reading. The contents of this message are highly classified and would spell disaster for Leistung should they ever be allowed in the open.

The cruelty of Gholgoth nations is well-documented, and despite our place as a neutral (i.e., non-MU) Mediterranican nation, you understand our skepticism that Gholgoth will leave our fair nation alone should it ever take control of the region. Unwilling to forsake our neutrality in order to join either the side of our old enemies or a band of sadistic warmongers, we find that the Waldenburger Legion presents the best way to defend all of our interests at the same time.

With this in mind, I have gained the express permission of the Leistungi Bundestag and the noble citizens of the Federal Republic to place the past behind us, and volunteer for inclusion in the Waldenburger Legion twenty-seven thousand active duty Bundesheer soldiers (Corps IV). As you can imagine, we must insist that their identities remain secret, and that it not be made clear in any way where they hail from.

Furthermore, these troops will return to the Federal Republic upon cessation of hostilities with the nations of Gholgoth, and will not, under any circumstances, be used in any actions against the Imperial Republic of Greston. I trust that you understand our position.

From across the territories of the Empire a few hundred citizens signed up to the Waldenburger Legion. A few wanted to see the world outside Yallak, some thought it would be a great adventure while others had failed to meet the exceptional standards of the Imperial Military and thought this would be there best chance to join the Army. Whatever their reasons though all of them, being Imperial citizens, had been educated in a Military Academy and had received years of military training starting from the age of 4 and continuing until they were at least 12 years of age.

It is good to see, between ourselves and all across the world, that old enmities can be dropped, and wrongs forgiven. In this instance we are of course most releaved and indeed grateful to our one time enemy.

As for your other stipulations they shall be no matter; as I understand it both our nations are of a Germanic background and on the great scale of things your contribution could easily pass for an Imperial division should the need arise. Your armies will not set foot in Greston; they shall never move offensively all Leistungi men shall be deployed for the defense of the common, and regional good.

The Yallakians were received with good spirits and, when a firm officer class could be arranged standards were presented and the 1st Yallakian Foot Guard was formed. It is predicted however, by senior officers in the Legion, that the 1st of Foot will not see action and will instead serve as a liaison and communications unit for the upcoming campaign against the Uiri on the great central continent. Wishes for see the world would possibly extend to Neuvo Italia, and the Waldenburger forward base in Chukacon.

Serene Legion Soldiers Take High Altitude Training Lessons Around Bad Schlossburg

His Majesty the Emperor had to be evacuated from his office by medical team to St. Jude’s Medical Hospital when he suffered a fall being told that Ghogoloth had forced a statement of neutrality from Aschenhyrst; and had issued a statement saying victory was close at hand for the Gothic aligned forces. Apparently his Majesty, after suffering a hairline fracture in the wrist. Apparently His Majesty had to be sedated as his laughter threatened to shake the fragile bones apart.

When His Majesty had recovered sufficiently to issue a statement, he told reporters, “There will be no peace without victory, and no life with out freedom. One Gothic foot in our region is too many, and I have no stomach for traitors and cowards. Any person or persons found guilty of colluding with the enemy, against the freedoms of the free world will be brought to justice with swift and righteous certainty.”

After the announcement the Cenobiarch has ordered the Serene Legion to begin drills and preparations for diverting any forthcoming invasions. Stores are being stockpiled and the cabinet is being recalled from recess at Hardingsburg.

There has been little public support from the noble factions representing the Rimwald constituencies, and compared to the wild enthusiasm of the urban precincts, most rural districts have dragged their feet over the required levies of men and supplies for what promises to be a drawn out campaign or at the very least a vital few days as the Empire gears for total war against Gothic aligned forces.
