(Open for comments and such, I really would appreciate comments and I'm hoping for an RP )

"Project Yui" an ambitious anime project about the life and death of Yui Oda* (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=563344) daughter of current State Holder Kaori Oda has offically selected it's director.

The much anticipated project supervised by the Oda family was announced over a month ago (ooc: NStime lapse) and had every Motion picture studio and anime company in Motokata bidding for contracts, including TWILIGHT TRAIN Inc. Production I.X LLC and CrazyHouse (Motokata's most acclaimed animation studios) . The final decision of who would get the contract relied on Ms. Oda and her family to decide and they chose to everyone's supprise Hikaru Matsumomo was chosen.

Hikaru Matsumomo is known as a "rouge director" in the entertainment industry, she hasn't aligned her self to any specific studio nor has she created her own, she's a "floater" or a director who moves from studio to studio on a freelance basis. Having come from a background in small productions in the live action and Animation area, Matsumomo is anything but inexperience. She also created a self-produced 12 minute 3D animation about a robot and a boy.

"I wanted someone who had experience but wasn't aligned." Oda said to the press. "This is my beloved daughter's story, I want it done right. Matsumomo has a 360 perspective and is very experienced. She's relatively unknown which saves early pre-judgements, and also keeps the pressure from her from overdoing it." Oda's family feels confident that Matsumomo is the right choice for the the project.

As to why Ms. Oda chose anime as the medium for their daughter's story is a touching one: "All her life, my little Yui said to me 'Mommy, daddy, when I grow up I want them to make me into an Anime character!' Yui had dreams of going into that industry her self, but sadly her dream has been cut short, but not forgotten." Pitches for a live action version have also been proposed but the Oda family has not finalized or approved any live-action projects.

As for Matsumomo's choice in production company, that is still pending.

Yui Oda is the daughter of State Holder Kaori Oda, she was abudcted from her school and found murdered in The Holy Empire of Stevid.

Matsumomo Selects Studio for Project Yui

Director of 'Project Yui' as it's still known, has selected her choice of company to handle the major aspect of the production. Studio Raven Claw the Neo-Ixanian studio that created Labyrinth: Zaneta's Saga (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=569921) the blockbuster smash hit. "After seeing Labyrinth," Matsumomo said I felt the production quality of this story, which is eerily similar, should be equal to that if not better. I'm not out to say Motokata's studios are inferior or bad or wouldn't create the same quality, but I feel Studio Raven Claw has had the work of the depth and increbile thematic experience in this case. I'm also looking to bring a fresh perspective on this. Something that Motokata hasn't seen before. I want this production to be bold and stand out among the others."

However apparently her selection hasn't been set in stone. "I haven't negotiated any contracts yet. They are my first choice as director of this." On the chance Matsumomo is turned down she says she will continue looking at other studios before returning to Motokata. "It won't be the end of the world if I chose a studio here, but I really do hope my offer is accepted by the folks in Neo-Ixania."

Matsumomo is currently in Ixania to begin potential negotiations.

After the success of Labyrinth, Studio Ravenclaw announced to reporters that there would be a new project unveiled in the coming weeks about a science fiction dystopia titled Sapere Aude which will be about a young woman (http://www.japanprobe.com/wp-content/uploads/animegirl5-maetel.jpg) struggling to understand the meaning behind her existence; based on the cult classic existentialist novel written in 2002 but it is not the only project that the studio will be working on. According to reports, a Motokatan director by the name of Hikaru Matsumoto will be working alongside the studio in producing Project Yui which Martin Brandt said was an interesting story when he first caught word of it from a friend and he has also said that representatives from the Studio will meet Hikaru since he will be going on vacation with his wife and children for two weeks.

Studio Ravenclaw was founded in 1982 by a group of Ixanian German animators with its first anime being an animated feature film about a girl who seeks escape from the world by relying on her well developed imagination and since then, Studio Ravenclaw has become famous under the direction of men such as Martin Brandt who first came into the studio when he pitched the idea for his first project in 1987 which was met with enthusiastic fanfare by the masses when released. Brandt's works are often rooted in realism and deal mostly with what it means to be human while his characters are often well loved by fans. Labyrinth is arguably his most famous work but perhaps, Brandt said, Sapere Aude will usurp that position.

Ravenclaw and Matsumomo to begin Negotiations

Today, director/writer/producer of the still untitled "Project Yui" (the story about Yui Oda) is prepared to meet with RC bigwig Martin Brandit, creator of the smash hit Labyrinth, to negotiate contracts. "You bet I'm excited," Matsumomo said. "I really hope the Ixanian's will like my approach to the project and will be willing to animate it."

As to whether or not Matsumomo will be directing anything further following this is still to be determined. "Let's not get ahead of our selves," Matsumomo stated. "I still have to get Project Yui going before we consider future projects together."

Matsumomo also announced she finished the film's screenplay and will be presenting it to Brandit at the meeting.
