OOC: This is a repost of another thread that(in a newb mistake) I put in the wrong section. I've touched it up and made it more...interesting. If I am doing anything wrong, please inform me.

Outbreak Info
After scattered reports regarding some mysterious murders and attacks throughout the United Federation of Arachnidus, the true nature of the threat facing the entire world was revealed- the "zombie" threat. The government of the nation has not ruled that these are in fact zombies, as they are not the walking dead. Scientific data regarding the infected is scattered, but it seems to be similar to rabies. The virus spreads only through direct fluid contact, like HIV. It is unknown where the first infected came from, but there is intelligence that supports the theory of foreign origin.

Government Response
-To prevent the spread of the virus, the government of the UFA has declared all borders sealed. As a request to other nations, friendly or otherwise, please direct all travel near the nation to at least fifty miles of the border to avoid possible infection.
-The UFA army has been re-armed with Mark III hazardous enviornment suits and anti-personnel weaponry and has been put under the control of the UFA Department of Quarantine and Biological Threats.
-All airforce fighter jets have been put on alert for possible napalm drops on high infection areas, with all VTOLs and transport craft being put on temporary assignment to Army control.
-The Navy has been alerted that some Aircraft carriers and other large vessels may be temporarily converted into refugee ships.
-All infected citizens in the nation will be quarantined immediately or shot on sight if they have "turned".
-Public transportation in uncontaminated, quarantined cities shall be canceled immediately, and food will begin to be rationed.
Recommendations to foreign nations
-Put your hospitals and medical staff on alert for rabies-like infections(foaming at the mouth and hydrophobia are not symptoms of this new virus).
-Be aware that infected might cross the borders into other nations. If this happens, use black or special operations teams to annihilate the infection.

(10/31/08)- After hours of trial and error, the Department of Quarantine and Biological Threats have fully documented a wide range of symptoms that seem to have been common in the infected. This list is not total.
Symptoms of the(now dubbed) Mortuus Virus
-Notes

The virus takes anywhere from 12 to 48 hours to "turn" the host.
The symptoms may vary based on an individual patient's medical history.
A rabies treatment course(a series of needles to the abdomen) has been shown to make the patient less likely to turn(up to 40% in some cases).

(1st hour to 5th hour) Dementia
(12th hour to turning) Coma
(2nd hour to 5th hour) Hydrophobia(in most cases, this is absent)

Horde Grows Larger
(10/31/08, 8:30PM[EST])- We are extremely disheartened to report that the horde now numbers in the 100,000s(the total count will be updated accordingly). Due to this, we are initiating the "Redoubt Plan"- the Government is pulling out of the Nation and regrouping on board the A.N.S Enterprise via VTOL and citizens are being moved into safe zones where they will find food for at least a year, and armaments to hold the zone. We thank all of the nations for providing support, and all infantry units from those nations have been sent back to their respective countries until we can execute Operation: Re-Death(all countries will be briefed on this tomorrow). Several of our cities have been overrun, and the total infected count is expected to swell to a million. We are in a Class 3 outbreak, and we urge all foreign nations NOT to send any support that isn't Naval, Airborne or supplies until Operation: Re-Death can be initiated. These are tough times, but as a race, I believe we can overcome this blight. Be aware that it is now a very real possibility that this virus will spread beyond our borders. Infected Combat Doctrine
(10/31/08, 8:40PM[EST]) With the terrible news of the country being all but overrun, we have ammassed another weapon against the infection. The following are important facts regarding the infected, now officially recognized as zombies.
Zombie Traits

In a normal fight, they have been observed to move with little sense of self. They simply rush their target until they make contact.
The zombies show little hand eye co-ordination or tool usage, if any. They cannot use weaponry, excluding their hands and teeth, and aren't very skilled at climbing. They can run, however.
A head shot is NOT required to kill a zombie. Anywhere will do.
This does not mean that the infected will simply starve; they do not require food, or water. Oxygen necessity has not been determined.
No data is available as to their ability to swim.
The virus does indeed spread by fluidic contact- if their blood gets into a person's wound, they WILL be infected, and will have about 1 hour to get treatment before symptoms appear.


Horde reaches first safe zone, another down
(11/1/08)To mark the beginning of the new month, we've got somewhat good news- one of the "hordes"(large groups of zombies) has reached a safe zone, but the refugees inside seem to be able to hold them off. They are estimating the horde's number at anywhere from 9 to 10,000 infected. This is great news because it pulls a large number of infected away from the capital, one of the largest safe zones. It also gives the opportunity to observe them.
On a sadder note, one of the smaller safe zones was overrun. Almost 20,000 refugees were inside. The total population of the country still stands at 227 million, but this is certainly a blow.

Side note, thank you from the UFA to all countries who have donated resources and armed forces to combat this threat. If anything should happen to your nations, we shall be eager to aid you as such.

We welcome any help we can get. The UFA government has accepted your offer. We are not landlocked, we are on a coastline, and as such, have deployed our remaining Naval forces off shore to be used as refugee ships, for fire missions or to blockade docks to prevent any infected citizens from leaving the country via boat. We don't wish for this to get any worse. The 'zombies' are as agile as most humans, but seem to lack a degree of hand-eye co-ordination, making them somewhat sloppy with running. It's harder to take them out, but most trained soldiers and even armed civilians should be able to neutralize one.

The Chazakain Empire is sending the 2nd Fleet to 15 km off Arachnidus coast with orders to start a blockade and not allow any vessels to leave.

Excellent stratagem(we thank you for your help). So far, we have not observed the infected with the ability to swim, as most seem weary of the water, and few have actually gotten close to the shoreline. They cannot learn from their mistakes, as far as we know- they seem intent on simply rushing towards their target, the only "tactic" they seem to employ being is an unintentional zig-zag when they run. They do not fear fire, but they have been noted to be less intent on heading towards areas where they would have stiff resistance. Sadly, they do not avoid holy sites(it wouldn't make much of a difference for us, we're primarily atheists), quite the opposite actually; the few churches and houses of worships are slaughter houses based on satellite photos- where the food goes, they go(they have been seen...devouring...some victims). As stated before, we do not have enough intel to understand whether they survive underwater or not. Rest assured, as soon as the new outbreak report is handed to the executive office by the Department of Quarantine and Bio Threats at 9:30 EST, we will have a full report on the infected "combat doctrine".

We sympathise in your time of need, and we are willing to send assistance, several hostital ships and there combat escorts along with many a refugeeship (converted supertankers ftw) Are being redirected to your nation, in your time of need.

We along would like to offer you our services, as extra kewen assistance be it in the form of army units, more navel groups can be purchased for a minor fee, that is negotiable.

Thank you for your offer Prime Minister Josefovich, but we must decline for now. Our citizens are not only unwilling to leave their country(we're glad that they are so patriotic, but we're kinda disturbed by this over at the Executive Government), but we do not want to risk spreading the blight. When the naval fleet arrives from the Chazakain Empire, we will accept your offer and send our refugee ships(whose passengers have been screened). If and when this happens, if you wish, you may put a military force from your nation on the island to keep track of the refugees, we need every officer we can get(if you are unable or unwilling to send a small force, we shall leave a few MPs behind[we can spare them]).

Most of the time, these research programs end terribly, either with the infected breaking loose or other bad things happening. Feel free to extract one, but it is highly inadvisable. If you choose to do so, do it before Operation: Re-Death, it involves heavy ordnance.

We understand, the infantry will be sent however in case things turns out different. I've already dispatch them and expect them to arrive within a day at the latest.

A chinook flew at top-speed towards the borders of Arachnidus. A team of heavily armed men were also given tools that seemed like it would be used to capture giant reptiles. A few tranquilizer darts were also handy, but they were told it would be unreliable.

Having heard of this terrible illness, I can only imagine what your people must be going through. While the PRC Cannot help in a military way as we are not that strong, we would be happy to accept any refugees who wish to leave the country until the crisis is over. Any refugees must not be contaminated with the virus however as we do not want it to spread.

Having heard of this terrible illness, I can only imagine what your people must be going through. While the PRC Cannot help in a military way as we are not that strong, we would be happy to accept any refugees who wish to leave the country until the crisis is over. The disease travels through all bodily fluid in the infected. The only possible "cure" is a standard anti-rabies shot(which involves 5 painful shots to the abdomen), which only lowers the chance of infection.

Aboard the Destroyer

The Lynx Class Heavy Cruiser steamed through the waves as it came closer to its destination. Alongside it was an aircraft carrier, several frigates and destroyers as well as a handful of cruisers and AA cruisers. Onboard the Destroyer was several Elite League of Wolves Assassin's starting to get ready. They were equipped with specially deisgned armour plating which was originally from Commander Rathma outfit. Their eyes were covered with glasses as theu mouth piece was partly like a gas mask. Their way of communications was via the intercom in their ear pieces.

"Alright boys, ETA is going to be 10 minutes," started Captain Daniel Craig as he showed the the outline of the country on the board. "We need to help secure the landing zones, the line that divides the infected from the free and we need to keep our eyes peered for zombies. We'll be using napalm-armour piecing rounds for this mission. Remember, if you get lost, head back to the beach and await further orders. Any questions?"

"What's the chances of us getting infected?" asked a nervous private.

"Son, as long you don't touch an infected, eat or drink with one, your going to be just fine," replied Daniel. "If there isn't anymore, questions, I must remind everyone that they need their immune shoots taken to increase the chances of us not getting infected. However, if you get too close to one of those buggers, the suit can't always protect you from being masscared,"

The briefing was over and the men went back on deck as they watched the afleet alongside several hospital ships slowly come into port. They hadn't telegram their arrival just yet, but radar was sure to pick them up on radar/sonar soon. Daniel looked around as a pair of Dingo Fighter Jets soared over them.


OOC: The suits are just their medium armour plating gear. They can still get killed, injuried and wounded. Its just to increase the chances of not getting the infections

Gentlemen, it's time to go on the offensive. You've all sent forces to my nation, and I'm grateful, but to truly end this threat, we must not stop until all traces are sponged, erased, and, if need be, blasted, from the face of this planet. The zombie threat poses one that no human can ever match- if we kill one of them, they die; if they kill one of us, we add to their army. They do not need food. There are no supply lines to cut, no farms to bomb, no water supply to contaminate; they are better than us in almost every biological aspect, except for one- intelligence and will. We can kill them. And that is why the Department of Quarantine and Biological Threats has devised Operation: Re-Death.

Operation: Re-Death
Phase 1- Death
The first assault will be by the combined airforces of all who wish to partake in the operation. Precision napalm strikes, MOAB drops and possibly Tactical Nuclear Weaponry if the horde proves too large. These series of strikes will occur over a 2 day span of time, with one run every 10 to 20 minutes.
Phase 2- Reanimation
Phase 2 will consist of three forces- one main infantry force, deployed by sea, spanning the entire 700 mile coastline(we're a small country, so this will make things much easier), armed with whatever weaponry and armor their commanding government chooses to arm them with. When all units have taken up their positions, advanced teams will be deployed via VTOL into the three surviving major cities; Aleutursk, Arachnycite, and Zerix. At the same time, APCs carrying ammo for the entire force will pull ashore behind the infantry line. The job of the advanced teams will be to evacuate all civilians and to set up base in the largest building in each city. Once word is received that the sweeps have been finished and the buildings are prepared, the march begins.
Phase 3- Re-Death
The forces(Army Group East, Army Group Central and Army Group West) will march straight up until each Army Group reaches their specified city. Army Group East will set up in Aleutursk, AGC will set up in Arachnycite and AGW will set up in Zerix. They will set up in all houses and small structures surrounding the central building(snipers will be set up in the central building as well) within one block. All the buildings'(except the central building) entrances will be barricaded and a new entrance opening towards the central building will be created. The street corners that lead towards this new, Reinforced Square will be blocked by the APC's, whose ammo will have been unloaded in the square. Sleeping areas and urinals will be set up in this area as well. Now the fun begins, in list form-

Music will be played(votes will be taken, but we're leaning towards some heavy rock).
The infected will hear this music, and come running towards the Reinforced Square.
Once they enter the killzone(marked by glow strips), the soldiers will open fire on them.
This will continue until they stop rushing.

Details regarding Phase 3

When a soldier runs out of ammo, another behind them will step up to take their firing position. The soldier that ran out of ammo will go retrieve more, take a 5 minute break and return to his line.
This will be a long battle. Ammo will be regularly delivered via VTOL and aerial drop.
Casualties once the Reinforced Square are expected to be 0, as long as the fire holds out.


Misc. Details

Each Army Group will be under control by two generals, one from each nation with a squadron in it. You may all choose your assignments.
The plan is expected to take about 2 weeks to be completed, with Phase 3 taking up the most itme.
Completion of this plan does not mean the blight has been extinguished; there will still be infected in the Federation, and Jebus knows how many crossed the borders.
This plan will be known as Armed Directive 7Z in the Federation armed forces, official after 11/2/08


Once Operation: Re-Death is finished, we should be able to handle the rest of the Horde(which will be reduced by up to 70%) on our own. We thank all nations that have helped us in this dire time, and we will be glad to work with you in the future(hopefully under better circumstances).

As said before, there is no data regarding the infected's physical capabilities when it comes to swimming, but the virus dies within minutes of it's host's death. So no, the virus cannot travel via water, or we'd have MAJOR problems.

-The infection is, so far as we can tell, only spread by biological fluids.
-We do not have any data whether they can survive in a vacuum or under water, as they have not been observed in either enviornment. However, we theorize that, seeing as they have no immune system or ability to regenerate, that the muscles would deteriorate further outside of oxygen.

We will send over one of the few infected we have captured; please be careful with it's containment, we'd hate to wind up having to help you guys out with your own outbreak.

Gents, the plan will initiate on Monday. Advanced teams will be deployed tomorrow, and we hope for this to be a great success; it's our only option outside of complete nuclear bombardment.

The Hind-D slowly came down on to the waiting helipad as security teams formed up to surround the helicopter. In case something went wrong they wanted to eliminate the problem as soon as they possibly could. Thankfully though, upon retrieval of the infected it had been encased in a steel container with holes for oxygen and not much else. It was currently on a carriage of sorts inside the cargo compartment of the Hind-D and as the ramp lowered the six members of the White Spear, all clad in dark green haz-mat suits with hazard symbols in yellow on the back, all grabbed bars on the side of the carriage and slowly wheeled it out with thier boots clunking on the metal and then cement of their environment. With three men on either side and countless guards it was taken to a second ground-based transport where it would go to a lab.

Meanwhile, White Shield special forces operatives began gearing up for any early insertion that might come up.

We believe the virus works in a process similar to rabies, in which it taps into the anger and hunger centers of the brain, in the process destroying most original intelligence. The virus also reworks the brain, so it identifies other infected as friendly. It uses the result of the infected's hunger(obvious biting as the infected tries to eat) to spread itself.
