As new weapons have recently been added to the SLR/SLR-2000 family, we wish to reintreduce this fine line of firearms to the public:

SLR and SLR-2000 small arms family

Background:

40 years ago NPS won a contract to produce a selective fire rifle for the Nachmere military. The SLR, as the new rifle was called, was chambered in 7.62 NATO and used by all units of the Nachmere military. A compact version, known as the SLC, was also offered and put to service by Special Forces. 15 years ago NPS started producing a 5.56 updated version of the SLR, called SLR-2000. SLR-2000 differs mostly in agronomics and materials, while using a similar action.

In recent years the SLR and SLR-2000 were converted to different roles, from highly compact and light carbines to fully automatic SAWs. As a result the “family” is now divided to two branches- SLR “Classic” variants which are either brand new exact copies of the original design or based on these copies, and SLR-2000 variants which are based on the SLR-2000.

Mechanism:

In general, all SLC and SLC-2000 variants are box magazine fed and use the same action. Hot gas flows through a port drilled in the barrel to a gas cylinder. The gas operates long stroke piston, integral to the operating rod. The operating rod houses a return spring, and ends with an extension, that carries a bolt operating groove at the left and a charging handle at the right. The groove is connected with the rotating bolt, located inside the receiver. The bolt has two locking lugs that lock into the receiver walls. When gun is fired, hot powder gases flow to the gas chamber pushing the long stroke gas piston, which drives back the operating rod. The bolt operating grove, interacting with the stud on the bolt, rotates the bolt. The bolt is than unlocked it and then retracts it to commence the reloading cycle.
In the SLR Classic the trigger group and safety allowed for single fire or fully automatic modes. In the SLR-2000 a 3 or 2 round burst mode replaces the full-auto mode. Some specific variants have different trigger groups (like the Classic Cadet and the SLR LMG).

SLR Classic Variants:

SLR Classic- Chambered in 7.62X51mm and using wood furniture, this is the original SLR. The SLR Classic can use 10, 15, and 20 round box magazines. Each rifle comes with a bayonet, a rifle-grenade adapter, and a cleaning tool kit. The rifle can be fitted with optics and a bipod.

SLC Classic- This is a compact version of the SLR. The SLC was originally meant for tankers and paratroopers. The barrel was shortened and folding skeleton stock was fitted. In addition a foregrip was incorporated, to allow controlled automatic fire from the hip. The SLC can be fitted with a bipod and optics, and also comes with the same accessories as the SLR.

Both of these weapons can be used by the military or law enforcement agencies. They offer high lethality and accuracy, high reliability, and low costs. The wood furniture of these weapons makes them very suitable for law enforcement agencies that need the high fire power but not the agressive impression caused by modern looking polymer stocked rifles.

SLR Classic | SLC Classic

Price per unit: 450$

Muzzle velocity: 855 meters per second | 820 meters per second
Rate of fire: 750 rounds per minute
Magazine capacity: 10, 15, and 20 round magazines are available

SLR Classic Cadet- A recent addition to the SLR Classic family, the Cadet is a 0.22LR weapon for training and sport purposes. The Cadet has the feel of a full size rifle, but fires the less powerful and much cheaper 0.22LR ammunition. The mechanism of the original SLR had to be adapted to work with the less powerful cartridge, and combined with the weight of the weapon makes for very little felt recoil, and high accuracy. The Cadet can be used for training younger shooters in military youth groups, sport shooting and hunting small animals.

SLR-2000 Variants:

SLR-2000- Chambered in 5.56X45mm, this rifle replaced the SLR 7.62 in Nachmere service. The SLR-2000 retained the mechanics of the original but uses different materials as well as the lighter ammunition to dramatically reduce weight. The receiver and other parts that are made of steel on the SLR Classic are made from aluminum alloy. In addition the wood furniture was replaced with milspec polymer. Action wise the rifle is almost identical to the SLR Classic, but has a three round burst mode replacing the full automatic in the trigger group. The SLR-2000 has rails for accessories and can be fitted with virtually any accessory.

SLC-2000- This is a shorter, folding stock carbine version of the SLR-2000. While it is less accurate than the SLR-2000, it offers a compact package useful for paratroopers and AFV crews. A detachable foregrip similar to that of the SLC Classic is installed to allow controlled automatic fire from the hip.

SLC Compact Carbine- For use in special operations, security, and other specialized roles, NPS offers the SLC Compact Carbine. It has a very short barrel and a folding stock. The Compact Carbie has a detachable foregrip like the bigger SLC-2000.

All three rifles offer high accuracy, good lethality, and light weight. They can be used for military or law enforcement purposes. Each rifle is delivered standard with a bayonet, a rifle-grenade adapter and a cleaning tool kit.

Rate of fire: 820 rounds per minute
Magazine capacity: 15, 20, and 30 round magazines are available

SLR LMG-This is a Light Machine Gun based on the SLR-2000. It is essentially a SLC-2000 with a heavier barrel, reinforced gas system, and a fully-automatic fire mode. It also has a padded buttstock. The SLR LMG is mainly meant as a squad automatic weapon, and so is fed from 90 round drum magazines. It offers sustained fire power and light weight in one package. Each LMG comes with a detachable bipod and detachable foregrip. These can be attached together or separately.

Background:

NPS was awarded a contract by the Nachmere Armed Forces to develop a replacement for the TM-1 “Fox” medium tank. The tank was to be armed with at least a 120mm main gun, have a higher top speed than the TM-1 and be better protected. In addition to these requirements NPS also wanted to be able to sell the new product to other countries. Considering the total sales failure of the TM-1 NPS was very happy to have a second attempt at the medium tank market. It would also be a good chance to use systems that were developed in the failed TM-1/120mm project.
For the TM-2, the hull shape used by NPS on all of its designs to date was abandoned. In its place a more sharply angled front armor and lower profile hull was designed. The turret design owes much to the MBT140A1, with a sharp front and angled turret sides. Replacing the 105mm from the TM-1 is an Electrothermal- Chemical 125mm smoothbore main gun. The improved commanders sight/weapon station was also borrowed from the MBT140A1.
The TM-2 is lighter and faster than main battle tanks, while heavier and better armed than light tanks. It is ideal for armored recce, breakthrough exploitation, and other fast-tempo operations requiring high mobility.

Mobility:

The TM-2 is powered by a multi-fuel 1500hp, twin turbo charged engine, producing 1120kw. The engine is located at the back of the tank coupled to a hydro-mechanical transmission. The transmission is semi-automatic with 5 forward gears and two backward gears, as well as a pivot gear.
The TM-2 has 6 pairs of road wheels on each side, with helical spring and hydraulic dampers for each pair. The combination of Helical and Hydraulic dampers improves ride comfort over harsh mountain terrain. The tracks are 550mm wide with no rubber soles. Connection between sections is made by a separate pin. This makes for quick section replacement and while in erosion is high, section erosion is relatively low.

Armament:

A)125mm L55 Smoothbore ETC gun. Selected as it was the most powerful gun that could be used without major weight addition. The 125mm can fire all standard rounds including the 125mm version of the “Gladiator” GLATGM. This gun is useful against medium AFVs, infantry and buildings at ranges of 50-6000 meters. The gun is loaded by a auto-loading system capable of loading up to 12 rounds per minute, with 36 rounds carried altogether.
B)7.62mm coaxial machinegun. The 7.62mm remains NPSs choice for coax weapon. It has a high rate of fire, a caliber which allows a very large ammo storage capacity, and good lethality against soft targets at up to 800 meters. The coaxial has a 1800 round compartment for ready to fire ammo and room for 6200 rounds in storage.
C)12.7mm Commanders MG. Located in a remotely operated weapons station, the 12.7mm is a medium between the main gun and the coaxial. It has good lethality and high accuracy against light armored and soft targets up to 1200 meters. The weapon station allows for single fire or fully automatic fire of the MG. The weapon station has a compartment for 150 rounds ready for use and room for 450 more in storage.
D)The multi-purpose, close range, 2X10 tube 80mm grenade launching system is integrated to the front armor plates of the turret, and fired from a panel in the commander’s controls. the grenade launchers are used to engage infantry at short ranges, up to 60 meters. The grenade types fired by the system are: Fragmentation, White-Phosphorus, Less-Than-Lethal “Flash-bang”, Less-Than-Lethal Tear Gas, IR Screening, and IR Decoy.

Fire Control and Observation:

The TM-2 fire control is identical to the one used by the MBT140A1 with adaptations made for the different weapons.
A two-axis Gunner's Primary Sight- Line of Sight (GPS-LOS) increases the first round hit probability by providing faster target acquisition and improved gun aiming. The Thermal Imaging System (TIS) has magnification x10 narrow field of view and x3 wide field of view. The thermal image is displayed in the eyepiece of the gunner's sight together with the range measurement from a laser rangefinder. The sight allows for the gun to be stabilized on a specific moving target (“Pixel Lock”).The Eye-safe Laser Rangefinder (ELRF) has range accuracy to within 10m and target discrimination of 20m. The gunner also has an auxiliary sight with magnification x8 and field of view 8°.

The CITV (Commander’s Independent Thermal Viewer) is integrated with a weapon station holding the 12.7mm machine-gun. As a result the CITV has two modes of operation. In the first mode the CITV acts as a separate, fully stabilized day and night sight for the main and coaxial weapons, allowing the commander to “slave” the gunner controls to identify targets or fire. In this mode the CITV allows the commander to identify, select, and range targets before even the top of the turret is exposed, and while remaining buttoned. The very high position of the commander’s sight means that the tank can fire GLATGM without a LOS from the gun to the target. In The second mode the CITV acts as a fully stabilized day and night sight for the 12.7mm weapon station. In both modes the CIV allows for all the features of the FCS.

The fire control computer automatically calculates the fire solution based on: lead angle measurement; bend of the gun measured by the muzzle reference system; velocity measurement from a wind sensor on the roof of the turret; data from a pendulum static cant sensor located at the centre of the turret roof; temperature, and barometric pressure from a sensor on the turret roof.
Solutions to moving targets or to fire-on-the-move are given by measuring the traverse speed of the turret while tracking the target. A secondary emergency system enables for firing using a mechanical ballistic computer.

The driver has either three observation periscopes or two periscopes on both sides and a Driver’s Thermal Viewer. The periscopes provide 120°field of view. The driver also has a rear view camera with thermal imaging for night operations.

Protection and survivability:

The TM-2 is protected by a combination of composite passive armor, Non Explosive Reactive Armor, Explosive Reactive Armor, and an Active Protection system.

Armor: The TM-2’s armor is composite and made of layers of steel, DU (Depleted Uranium), and ceramics. The crew compartments in the TM-2 are lined with Kevlar to prevent spalling. The passive armor is angled and in some parts spaced, to protect against medium(up to 130mm) KE threats at contact ranges.

Reactive Armor: The TM-2 has spaced, multi-layered NERA (Non Explosive Reactive Armor) plates on most of its turret (including the turret top) and hull. On the front of the turret and hull there is also a layer of ERA (Explosive Reactive Armor). The reactive armor suite protects the tank against most CE threats.

Active Protection: The TM-2 IS equipped with an active protection system based on fire-control radar and a “hard-kill” launching system. The fire control radar, located on top of the turret, identifies incoming rockets and missiles and classifies them. It than reacts by firing a quick reaction projectile from one of the 20 carried around the turret. This projectile engages the threat 50 meters away from the vehicle by detonating on it. The system is reloadable and storage in the tank allows for 20 extra projectiles to be carried.

Screening and Decoys: As mentioned before the TM-2 carries 2 10 tube 80mm. grenade launchers on the front of the turret. These tubes can fire IR Screening and IR Decoy grenades to help the tank screen or avoid incoming threats. In addition the TM-2 is equipped with a standard self screening using condensed diesel fumes.

Fire suppression: TM-2 uses several systems to prevent and suppress fires. The turret and driver compartment are both equipped with fire detectors and 5 BCF canisters. The canisters are operated either automatically by the detectors or manually by the crew (Gunner and Commander Compartments). 2more BCF canisters are located in the engine compartment and can be operated from the driver’s controls or from outside the vehicle. The driver and commander have red-light indicators for an engine fire. The diesel fuel for the engine is stored in 5 tanks in the front and back of the tank, with cutoff valves allowing the use of each tank separately.

Explosion prevention: All main gun and Grenade ammunition is stored in separate containers, made from high-resistance anti-flame material. Blowout panels are located above the 135mm ammo storage to direct explosion energy away from the crew. The crew seats are all of the suspended type, keeping them above the floor in case of an explosion underneath the tank.

NBC protection: The tank is equipped with an overpressure system. The system pumps air from outside the vehicle through a system of filters and into to the tank, creating an overpressure that keeps contaminated air out if the tank is fully buttoned. If the tank cannot be fully buttoned, each crew member can use an individual, pressurized mask with a 90% field of vision. The overpressure system is integrated with an air-condition system but will operate even if that system is damaged.

The TM-2 has towing shackles on its front, back and sides, to enable recovery in hard situations.

Communications, Navigation and Interface:

Internal communications: The TM-2 has internal communications system, with headsets integrated to ballistic helmets. The system allows the TC (tank commander) to choose which crew members he hears and can hear him. The system has a separate TC to driver channel, receiving power from the best protected battery, to ensure TC can always communicate with the driver. The system also has a wireless ability, which switches on automatically when the helmets are disconnected from the system; this prevents crew members being accidently disconnected and allows for faster dismount drills.

External Communications: The TM-2 is prepared to accept 2 transmitter-receivers and 2 receivers, antenna bases being integral. The antenna bases allow for lowering the antennas forwards and backwards from inside. A radio-silence communications system to replace flags, comprising of two IR and regular lights on each side of the turret, allows for minimum use of radio by lower level commanders. The TM-2 is equipped with a tank/infantry telephone located at the rear of the vehicle and connected to the commander’s internal communications.

Navigation: The TM-2 is equipped with an integral GPS navigation system, viewed on the commanders and drivers LCD displays. The system includes navigation rout planning, point to point line-of-sight checks, battle planning and other useful features. The navigation system can be integrated into battlefield management systems and used to give a complete picture of the battle.

Interface: The crew interface of the TM-2 includes a LCD screen/Control for each crew member, clearly showing the information that crew member needs. The LCD screen/Control is encased in high-resistance polymer and has buttons allowing control of many systems in the tank. These electronic controls are all backed-up by conventional switches and controls in case they malfunction.

Amenities:

The TM-2 gives its crew all that’s needed to fight and stay buttoned for long periods. A 50 liter internal, NBC protected water tank supplies hot and cold water through a water point. An air-conditioning system connects to the crews overalls to keep them cool while fighting or warm while waiting. The TM-2 can hold 7 days worth of rations for its crew. An electric cooking pan, along with plates and utensils are stored in special compartment.

Wolverine Heavy Industries R&D Divison would like to anounce the release of a new biological weapon for sale by MAC, the X-5467

X-5467
Genetically Engineered Hemorrhagic Fever Cholera-Influenza Weaponised

Using Ebola as a base for the bio-weapon using the latest in genetic engineering scientists combined the Ebola virus with certain alleles in the genetic code of the Cholera and Influenza virus to make it highly infectious, aerosolised, water-borne virus.

MAC reserves the right to deny access to this weapon to anyone who they deem to unstable too wield such destructive power. Any nation under a population of 200 million is automatically denied access.

Infection Process
X-5467 is easily transmitted thanks to the different combination of infection methods and the increased virility of the virus due to the multiple combinations of virus the X-5467 can transmit from host to host through inhalation, ingestion of food or water, and absorption through skin. However, the "preferred" method of infection due to its Ebola base by the virus is contact with bodily fluids, most notably contaminated blood of similar hosts (Humans). Upon infection, the virus works twofold by embedding itself into the blood stream and cellular nuclei of it's host. After a 3 hour incubation period, the virus will activate, causing massive internal and external haemorrhaging. The nuclei that have been effected by the virus will begin to replicate uncontrollably, producing more and more of the virus until the host is dead. Due to the resilience, the fact that there is no know cure or vaccine for the Ebola virus and the high reproductive rate of the virus, it literally has a 100% kill chance.

All Symptoms (In order of Occurrence)
Light-headedness
Mild Headaches
Stomach Aches
Inability for Blood to Clot
Sporadic Coughing Fits
Chills
Severe Headaches
Uncontrollable Vomiting and Migraine
Sporadic Coughing Fits with Blood
Severe Vomiting with Blood
Severe Chills with Slight Internal Haemorrhaging
Severe Convulsions/Violent Involuntary Muscle Contractions
Visible Bodily Haemorrhaging
Death

Virus at a Glance
Virus Name: X-5467 GEHFCIW
Type: Bio-Weapon
Suggested Delivery Systems:
Guided or Dummy-fired Missile
Container/Vial, Living Subject
Infected Water Source
Incubation Period: 3 Hours
Mortality Rate: Greater than 99%
Time until Death: Less than 1 Day
Cure/Vaccine Available: No Vaccine or Cure Developed
Symptoms:
Hemorrhagic Fever and Boils
Uncontrollable Bleeding
Severe Convulsions and Loss of Body Control

Prices:
Six seeds: $400,000,000

Cases and vials are available on request

Disposal/Destruction:
X-5467 is susceptible to high levels of radiation and very high tempratures, either of these factors will cause enzymes implanted inside the virus to de-nature and stop the virus reproducing. The only real way to stop the spread of the virus is to destroy all hosts living and dead.

LAAAB-100

Background:

Image:http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/2183/l100.jpg

Following a demand by The Armed Republic of The Wolf Hold for a light anti-armor and anti-fortification to be used by infantry at squad levels, M.A.C set to work on designing a multi-purpose rocket propelled grenade launcher.
The concept was to have a system that incorporates precision, light weight and high lethality against a variety of targets. The launcher was to have day and night optics as well as a fire control system. It was decided to use disposable launch tubes with different loads and a sighting/FCS system that is transferable from tube to tube.
The result of this development is the LAAAB-Launcher-Anti-Armor-Anti-Building.

Specification:
Type: Light Weight Anti-Armor
Total weight: 16-17kg assembled
Warheads: Tandem HEAT, Thermo-Baric, and HESH
Range: 500-750 Meters.
Speed: 300 Meters per second
Time to maximum range: 1.66/2.5 seconds
Guidance: Inertial (with FCS)
Penetration: See text.
Cost per unit: 2500$ per sighting system/FCS, 300$ per projectile

Design:

The LAAAB is made of two main parts- Sighting/FCS System and a launch tube.

Launch tube: The launch tube is 1100mm long and 100mm in diameter. It houses the rocket itself, the trigger system and has a picatinny rail on either side. The trigger guard is wide enough to be used with gloves, and there is a trigger safety. The Launch tube is disposable, with the sighting/FCS system being attached to the picatinny rail of each tube before launch and then taken off before disposal.

Sighting System: This is the main part of the LAAAB. An electro-optic day and night sight is coupled to a simple fire control system and a laser range finder. The system weighs 4 kilograms.

*Electro-Optic day and night sight- with a small LCD screen and two lenses this system gives the user X1.5 or X3 magnification at day time and X1.5 or X2.5 magnification at night time. The night time vision utilizes a 4th generation light intensifying system. This allows target identification to 500 meters at night.

* Laser Range Finder: with a range of 1000 meters, and a 5 meter error range, this small LRF allows the FCS to calculate the exact angle of launch.

* Fire Control System: The FCS system on the LAAB uses the range reading from the LRF, the type of projectile, and data from motion sensors to give the shooter an accurate point of aim.

Operation:
When a target is chosen, the user selects which projectile to use. The user attaches the Sighting System to the launch tube’s left or right according to his need and shoulders the weapon. The user activates the sighting/fire control and selects the projectile type. The user pulls a pin on the tube arming the rocket and disengages the trigger safety. The user aims at the target with the LCD screen crosshairs and measures the range with the LRF. If the system is moving he presses the range button down and follows the target. This engages motion sensors which allow the FCS to calculate the speed and vector of the target. The FCS than “moves” the target on the screen and the shooter readjusts his aim on the target. The crosshairs appear on target but the weapon is actually aimed with adjustment for angle and target movement. Now the shooter fires the weapon. The rocket is propelled at 300 meters and hits the target.
Tube/ Projectile types:

Tandem-HEAT- Weighing 12 kilograms this projectile has a small precursor charge and primary charge capable of penetrating 750mm of RHA after reactive armor. The Tandem HEAT projectile has a range of 750 meters.

Thermo-Baric- Weighing 13 kilograms this projectile is used against internal spaces of buildings. It can affect a 300 cubic meters space and has a range of 500 meters.

HESH: Weighing 13 kilograms this round can breach holes in double brick walls and reinforced concrete walls. It can also be used against light armored vehicles. The HESH projectile has a range of 500 meters.

OOC: I apologize in advance for my "you fail biology forever (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/YouFailBiologyForever)" rant, but since I see a number of glaring errors in your most recent product, I find this gives me an excellent opportunity to show off my funtastic amount of pre-med courses.

Firstly, combining alleles from two completely different viruses (and one bacteria...) is a biological impossibility. Crossing a red and white flower will create a pink flower, but combining two viruses (again, and a bacteria...) will not create a supervirus (/bacteria...) with every single symptom left intact. In fact, it will create...nothing. You're talking about fundamentally altering Ebola's genome in a way which will destroy its structure.

Secondly, and no, I don't have the exact statistics here, but I know for a fact that Ebola's kill rate is not 100%. In fact, in the early '90s, the kill rate was only about 60%, if I remember correctly. Once the virus has been detected in a victim, experimental treatments such as human convalescent plasma in combination with balancing levels of electrolytes and fluids can stabilize the patient and lead to his or her recovery in a few months.

Ebola is not currently an aerosolized virus and is instead passed through a victim's fluids, though the genome could actually be altered to make the virus airborne. However, a 3 hour incubation and 1 day death time is crazy and is much, much different from Ebola and Influenza--the only thing that even comes close is Cellulitis, and that's a bacterial disease, not a viral one. Unless the virus literally lyses half of the body's erythrocytes in twenty four hours, that simply isn't possible.

OOC:

The incubation time for ebola is generally 5-10 days. Death occurs anywhere from 2-21 days after the onset of symptoms.

In addition to this, for Ebola Zaire, the most deadly strain, and first to emerge, the fatality rate was about 90% in 2003, a dramatic increase since its discovery in the 1970s.

Since its death rate is so high, Ebola is actually quite difficult to spread, since most people tend to liquefy before they can infect others.

OOC: I'll take the last word as a joke and move on from that particular brand of idiocy.

My point here is that the product cannot exist. It just cannot. A tank with two guns? Yeah, it can exist, it just isn't smart to have. A mecha? Yes, that can exist too, with similar results. But a genetically engineered virus/bacteria with all symptoms and a 3 hour incubation period? That cannot physically exist.

I'm sorry if this comes off as me being harsh, but I'm just trying to explain to you that point so that I don't have to come face to face with an impossible weapon that someone bought from you.

I'd also like to point out the I not Anghele designed this virus, that could of been established by reading the post.

Can I also ask was there any need for the rest of ODECON to jump into a thread when Leistung had already made the point, I really don't see the need to dogpile into a thread.

My final point is why wasn't Falkaisa virus that is similar to mine not being put under ODECONs collective microscope?

OOC: A-Level Biology here, so I'll add my two cents quickly - and this is somewhat in defence of this virusy-thing.

You can incorporate bacterial DNA into a virus (see Transduction), but this will require substantial time and effort to ensure no side effects occur as a result of it.

Ebola Zaire IS contagious in air to monkeys, I daresay it'd not be a massive leap to modify that to become contagious through air to humans, although it's a matter of testing it and the ethical concerns that raises (not a problem for Anghele, I'm sure.

Cholera can kill in as quickly as 18 hours - however, modern antibiotics and methods mean that it is very easy to treat when caught quickly enough, and in the case of cholera becoming an epidemic, then it can be very easily contained. Furthermore, cholera kills so quickly because of it's method of killing - concentrated and immediate loss of blood and vital fluids through diarrhoea and disintegration of the epithelium of the intestine. Ebola requires to spread around the entire body and break down the walls of the blood vessels before shock sets in - there's no quick way to do that - this is likely Leis's concern.

Prevention and cure-wise, there IS a vaccine for Ebola (at least for monkeys, but NS means that chances are most multinational pharmaco's will have developed a human version) and a stockpile immediately given to the populace will pretty much stop it dead; someone detailed curing it earlier, I believe. cholera is pretty much a case of IV fluids and antibiotics, and as soon as it is detected in a water supply, it's flow is stopped. Influenza, I assume, is merely included as a base for the genetic material to make it airborne.

In summation, it's an easily prevented virus. Shut down travel, hand out bottled water - it'd cause the country serious damage, but the spread is quickly and easily contained.

Oh, and Anghele? Please, for the love of God, split your OOC and IC. Really - we don't suggest these things for no reason, it's simply polite to do so.

OOC: Transduction would mean that a bacteriophage is going to combine bacteria A's DNA with that of bacteria B's via a viral host (which has elements of bacteria A's DNA mixed with its own viral DNA), but the issue here is that the Ebola virus has an RNA genome, and cannot undergo this process to my knowledge.

And besides, even if one could combine the genes of Vibrio cholerae bacteria and Ebolavirus, this would be no means make it any more deadly. The results would be impossible to predict with such changes to the virus' genetic structure.

Wolfs Hold, the only reason I responded to your weapon was because I saw it. Don't take it as a personal insult. I do actually agree that I was the only one who needed to respond to what I saw, though I obviously can't control other people...

OOC: Retroviruses do have an RNA Genome, although the process would be infinitely more unstable as a result. It's simply a case of finding the gene codons that cause Ebola to do what it does, and have that encoded into RNA rather than keeping it's DNA form using transcription enzymes. More a case of using Ebola's effect rather than the virus itself.

And besides, even if one could combine the genes of Vibrio cholerae bacteria and Ebolavirus, this would be no means make it any more deadly. The results would be impossible to predict with such changes to the virus' genetic structure.

Agreed - even if you got round to using a retrovirus (which would be hard enough in itself to develop), the mutations would be so common that it may not even be effective a few weeks after it's been deployed).
Brittanican Adenia
07-04-2009, 21:34
OOC: Wait a sec, what did I say?

On that note, it is actually possible for a retrovirus to accidentally grab a piece of bacterial DNA? I was under the impression that this was either impossible, or rarely happened.

OOC: Polymerase, rather. Not transcription.

That said, gene therapy uses genetically engineered recombinant retroviruses that have codons for replication removed.
Brittanican Adenia
07-04-2009, 21:58
OOC: Though gene therapy with retroviruses also carries a strong possibility for insertional mutagenesis and complete failure. What you're proposing, though, is that TWH uses the Ebolavirus and the influenza virus to insert genes into a Cholera bacteria, something which would be so difficult and so unpredictable that I still cannot see any real possibility for success.

Even if it did in fact create a Vibrio cholerae bacterium with genes from influenza and Ebola viruses, what would the point be?

OOC: I think we're arguing different points, but it is possible, though not as simply as you describe. In order to achieve success, it would take NS-grade levels of expenditure, likely making it pointless (the systems would involve attempting the process thousands, if not millions of times to get it done without serious mutation to the genome).

Well, yeah. It'd be epicly pointless, but then, that wasn't the point I was making

The republic of Italia Orientale would like to place an order for the followign items:
- M.A.C. Military .45 Production Rights = $990,000,000
- 6,500 Barrett M82A1 = $41,730,000
- 10,000 Franchi SPAS-15 = $6,500,000

- 64 OKW Long Haul Helicopters = $128,000,000
- Total = $2,167,230,000

We were very pleased with our earlier purchases made from M.A.C. and we have decided to return to your company for more of our defense needs. Furthermore, we were pleasantly surprised by the discount offered to us by your company as you were the only defense firm to have made us such an offer. We plan on continuing to work with M.A.C. industries in the future and we feel as if we have found a trusted partner in these turbulent times. Already many of the weapons purchased from M.A.C. seen action with Italia Orientale's armed forces. Also, our domestic production of the M.A.C.-56 Assault Rifle and the M.A.C. Type 147 have been both useful and profitable.

For the OKW Long Haul Helicopters we flt that $2,000,000 per unit was a fair price, but would like to know if this is acceptable to M.A.C. If so, consider our transaction final and we will wire the money as soon as the sale is approved. We hope to work with you again in the future.

M.A.C TA/FCS System Phase I for reference purposes (to be deleted from front page)

[PROJECT COMPLETE]Military Armaments Company is looking for funds to develop an electronic target acquisition / fire control system (TA/FCS) to equip M.A.C prototype rifles to enter military Land Warrior (OICW) programme.

After completion of development the production rights will be given at no cost to the Nations or Corporations involved in the programme.

http://sistemadearmas.sites.uol.com.br/sof/sofsabr05.jpg

The target acquisition / fire control system (TA/FCS) is the most expensive and complicated unit of the whole system,it must combine:

-Day/Night Any Weather Vision Capabilities

-Laser Rangefinding Unit
[PROJECT COMPLETE]
-Integrated Ballistic Calculations Computer (Aiming Assistance)

http://sistemadearmas.sites.uol.com.br/sof/sofsabrfcs.jpg http://sistemadearmas.sites.uol.com.br/sof/sofsabrtafcs.jpg

The TA/FCS will be used to find the target in any light and weather conditions, determine the range to the target, calculate and display the aiming data, so the grenade or bullet could be fired to the desired point of impact, and then supply the data to the grenade launcher, so the range could be preset into the airburst grenade fuse. In the case of damage to the TA/FCS the 20mm grenade launcher still can be used in the direct impact mode, as well as the rifle part of the system.

M.A.C TA/FCS System Phase II

http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/7181/tafcs.png

Phase II Module includes several updates to the original Phase I prototype.

Target Acquisition/Fire Control System for Future Soldier Individual Combat Weapons

TA/FCS Benefits

* Direct view optics

* Thermal imager

* Ballistically corrected aimpoint with wind speed sensor and electronic calculator

* Extended range allows more accurate target acquisition and identification

* Increased capabilities day or night

* Improved rangefinding with highly accurate eye-safe laser rangefinder

* Land Warrior compatible

* Laser aim light and illuminator

Day or Night Operation :

* Daylight rangefinding, target engagement, and situational awareness aided by a high-resolution direct view day optic with 2x magnification

http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/5394/oicw2.png

* For night operations, TA/FCS utilizes a state-of-the-art uncooled thermal sensor with digital zoom to 8x

Laser Precision Targeting :

* Range based ballistic corrected aimpoint for lightweight grenade launcher

Incorporated TA/FCS system on sample M.A.C - 16|L 5.56x45mm NATO rifle (http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/5110/tafcsi.png)

Method of Operation :

http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/4959/oicw.png

1. Operator places aimpoint on the target and activates the laser rangefinder.

2. The fire control system computes the distance to burst and provides an
adjusted aimpoint based upon target range information, the ballistic
characteristics of the ammunition and environmental
condition, all totally transparent to the User.

3. The operator places the adjusted aimpoint on the target and pulls
the trigger. Upon firing, the fuze is inductively set in the weapon
where it will fly along a predictable path and air-burst at the target
area defeating it and any other targets and/or equipment that may
be in the vicinity of the lethal footprint.

The M.A.C TA/FCS system can be fitted to any long arm featuring an upper picatinny rail.Software is prepared (pre-loaded with the information) to accept any cartridge, from .22 Long Rifle to .50 BMG and 37mm to 40mm grenades. In addition the software is prepared for no-lethal (anti-riot) ammunition, which means that the TA/FCS can also be used by Law & Enforcement in civilian unrest situations for better non-lethal shot and non-lethal grenade placement.

This unit as of yet will only be sold in contracts for more than 300 hundred units.

Pricing on request.

M.A.C | Defense wishes to thank the nation of Rolling Dead for the funds that allowed us to persue this endeavor. As a compensation for the help given, the domestic production rights for this product shall be given at no cost to the nation of Rolling Dead.

New Personal Defense Weapon Prototype :

M.A.C A.P.W - 11

http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/796/apw.png

The design objective was the development of a cartridge for the use in the new concept of a Personal defense weapon (PDW), pistols, submachine guns and carbines. To increase the available off-the-shelf condition, the market sales perspectives are oriented to the civilian, the law enforcement and military market. The technical identities of the 7.92x24 mm caliber are much closer to this of the 9x19 mm NATO caliber then to the PDW smaller calibers 4.6x30 mm and 5.7x28 mm. The 7.92x24 mm is special designed to fulfill a multicaliber roll in the existing 9x19mm and .45 Auto frame platforms.

The 7.92×24 mm is shorter than the PDW small calibers 4.6×30mm and 5.7×28mm, this to allow the use in compact and sub-compact weapons. The main design objective was the use of the existing standard .32 Full Metal Jacket bullets of the .32 ACP cartridge. These are already for years available on the civilian market without the objections of the law enforcement community and a new armor piercing bullet technology designed and patented by Rik Van Bruaene. To comply in a multicaliber roll with the 9x19mm and .45 Auto frame platforms, the 7.92x24 mm caliber case has a special selected length of 24 mm and uses different bullet types for each frame platform to comply with their different lengths of 29.6 mm and 32.4 mm.

The 7.92x24mm S with short bullets and the 7.92x24mm N with long bullets

The design objective was the use of one standard case for both frame platforms and two series of bullets. On short series for the 7.92x24mm S cartridge to fit in the 9x19mm frame platforms and a long series for the 7.92x24mm N cartridge to fit in the .45 Auto frame platforms.

This round is capable of defeating the common Level IV "bulletproof" vests.

More informations on this cartridge here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7.92x24mm).

Caliber : 7.92x24mm

Rate Of Fire : 897 Rounds per Minute

Action : Recoil Operated, Rotating Barrel, Locked Breech

Firing Modes : Safe-Semi-Full Auto-3rds Burst

Weight : 2.7 Kg (Loaded)

Hunter family of Gun-Launched Anti-Tank Missiles

http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu322/NWIpics_2009/Hunter-1.png

Specifications (125mm version, versions range from 100mm to 165mm):
Total weight: 36kg (with propellant charge/ cartridge)
Warhead: Tandem HEAT, 7kg
Range: 10.000 Meters.
Speed: 400 Meters per second
Time to maximum range: 25 seconds
Guidance: Electro-Optic/IIR seeker, Fire and Forget
Attack modes: Top Attack against tanks, Direct Attack against helicopters.
Penetration: 1000mm RHA after reactive armor
Cost per unit: 17000 NS$

Introduction:

Shortly after release of the Gladiator GLATM (Gun Launched Anti Tank Missile) NPS designers realized that in order to maintain the lethality of tank guns a more advanced system must be produced. Features of the new system had to include all abilities of the Gladiator but also provide a solution to Active Protection Systems so common on modern AFVs. If so, the new missile would have to be a fire and forget, top- attack, tandem charge warhead design, with some sort of system used for defeating the RADAR systems used by most APS systems.
Several solutions were considered for defeating APS systems. These included decoys, jammers and even evasion.

The jammer concept seemed most promising, but there was concern that if the jammer fails to defeat the radar, there is no backup system. Decoy dispensers were considered, but as some APS systems are capable of engaging multiple targets it seemed that decoys might not be useful. In addition a decoy dispenser would consume a lot of space causing a reduction in size of the primary charge. It was then decided to shape the missile so it creates a small RADAR cross section. This would assure that if the APS was not jammed, it would not intercept the missile.

With this concept in mind, NPS set to produce the Hunter GLATGM, which will replace the Gladiator in Nachmere service and in the M.A.C catalog.

Description:

The Hunter has versions for main gun tanks ranging in caliber from 100mm to 165mm. Differences between versions are size related(bigger versions have longer range and penetration), and platform related(Separate load/Semi-Fixed, bearings in rifled guns, etc.).

All versions share these main parts:
1)Sabot: because the missile is not cylindrically shaped, it has a sabot fitting it to the shape of the barrel.
2)Launch propellant load- used to fire the missile from the gun at a muzzle velocity of 400 meters per second. The launch load is simply a reduced load of the standard propellant used for the specific gun.
3)Flight rocket engine- A solid rocket engine which is used to propel the missile to its target.
4)A primary HEAT charge, which is used to penetrate the target.
5)A precursor HEAT charge, used to trigger NERA or ERA plates on the target and clear the way for the main charge.
6)RADAR Jammer- A combined Barrage Jamming and Digital Radio Frequency Memory jammer installed on the front of the missile.
7)Imaging Infra Red Seeker: Used to detect emissions from the target and provide information for guidance. The IIR seeker is cooled by compressed gas.
8)Electronics Package: This includes the processing units that receive target data from the fire control, process data from the IR seeker, and control the flight of the missile.
9)Batteries: Two batteries power the electronics, seeker and servos.
10)Servos and fins: 4 fins are located at the back of the missile each controlled by a servo.

In addition the following modifications must be made to the tank in order to fire the missile:
1)Hunter fire control software installed on the FCS computer.
2)A tiny radio transmitter connected to the FCS computer and thermal sights.
These modifications are offered free of charge to Hunter users. They come as standard on newer NPS AFVs.

RADAR jammer:

The Jammer combines two jamming methods, the first is barrage jamming. The jammer powers up 150 meters above the target and jams in all known frequencies used by APS RADARs. The second is Digital Radio Frequency Memory. When a receiver on the jammer receives the first signal from the APS radar it stops jamming in all frequencies and instead sends a false return to the APS, showing multiple targets at different locations. This causes the APS to expend ammunition while still not intercepting the missile.

Low cross section:

The low cross section of the Hunter is achieved by two main features:
* The missile is shaped to deflect RADAR waves aside and not return them to the RADAR.
* The missile body is made mostly of plastics and is covered in radar absorbent paint.
The returns from the missile are equal to a 12.7mm round up to a 20mm round, depending on the APS RADAR used. This means most APS would not intercept the missile even if the jammer fail to jam them.

Operation (against a target with an APS and Reactive Armor):

The Hunter is loaded into the gun like any other round, by a human or automated loader. When the Hunter is loaded, a micro switch on the missile is pressed. This powers up a tiny radio receiver in the missiles electronics package. The radio transmitter connected to the FCS and thermal sights sends the target azimuth, range and IR image to the missile. The gunner fires the missile via the usual controls. The missile is shot out of the barrel at 400 meters per second and the sabot is discarded. The fins open and the IIR seeker powers up and is immediately cooled by compressed gas. The IIR seeker scans the field and identifies the target. The rocket engine is fired and the missile flies towards the target at 400 meters per second. 350 meters from the target the Hunter climbs to an altitude of 200 meters and then dives to the target. 150 meters above the target the jammer beguines barrage jamming, “blinding” the APS RADAR. The jammer than uses DRFM to deceive the RADAR and causes the APS to fire at several false targets. Even if the jammer fails, the APS is not likely to engage the missile because it does not “look” like a threat. When the missile hits the target, the IR seeker and the jammer are crushed and the precursor charge initiated. The precursor charge triggers NERA or ERA plates on the vehicle. The primary charge than hits the same sport on the armor and penetrates the soft top armor of the vehicle.

Anti-Helicopter mode:

In this mode the missile is fired in the same way as detailed above, but does not engage the target with a top attack. Instead it attacks the target directly, hitting the hottest spot on the helicopter. This mode is used against low flying helicopters, and should not be confused as a full anti-aircraft mode.

BASTION- Battlefield Systems Information and Networking

Price:
25.000$ per BASTION AFV/Helicopter kit.
35.000$ per BASTION D.O.I kit.

Interface Image:http://defense-update.com/images/winBMS-tank.jpg

Introduction:

BASTION was developed to fill a gap in the M.A.C-NPS line of land battlefield systems. While NPS vehicles were so far were equipped with the basic components to allow installation of a battle management system, no such system was made by NPS. This meant that users had to integrate systems from other companies.
To solve this problem NPS developed a battle management system to be integrated specifically into NPS and M.A.C systems. BASTION, the result of this development, is a battlefield management system for units ranging in size from platoons to brigades.

Sensors and Information Gathering:

BASTION mostly relies on the existing sensors a platform already has. This includes laser range finders, RADARs, observation systems, fire control components, meteorological sensors, and other sensors. It also uses GPS (either installed with BASTION or existing). Combining information from these systems allows the system to display and network accurate real-time information not only of friendly forces, but also of hostile forces.

Communications and Networking:

BASTION can rely on several communication mediums. It can use standard military radio networks, military cellular networks, or satellite communications. It can also combine all three. According to the type of medium used, range varies from a few kilometers to thousands of kilometers.
Networking is done by an IP protocol. Each unit sends and receives information to and from all units within reception range and operating on the correct frequencies. This information is than sorted by the system, to prevent flooding the user with un-needed information. This sorting is done by both the sender and recipient, meaning he user can choose who will see his sent data and who’s sent data he receives.

Interface:

The information gathered by the BASTION main processor is displayed on one or more LCD displays in the vehicle. The LCD screens are mil-spec and have control buttons on the sides. The system has 4 windows used for work before, during, and after operations.

*Battle Planning and orders: Allows for creating, sharing and viewing complete operational plans, with attached maps, orders, and ORBATS. It allows for viewing the battle image over code-maps, satellite images, or 3D terrain visualizations. The user can also calculate point-to-point distances, lines-of-sight, and radio reception areas.

*Battle Management: This is the main window, which is used during operations. It allows for viewing the battle image over code-maps, satellite images, or 3D terrain visualizations. The user can see the location of friendly forces and known hostile forces. The user can also update known enemy forces. This is done by taking a range reading to the enemy, and then adding further information manually. Artillery can be laid using a special artillery tab, which sends the artillery request to a predefined user. The user can also calculate point-to-point distances, and lines-of-sight. Information added here by the user is automatically shared with other units.

*Information Sharing: This window is used to send specific data that is not automatically sent by the system. This includes text massages, images and videos, and logistic reports. Videos and still images are captured by the AFVs existing systems. Text massaging allows free texting as well as predefined default massages. This system allows upper echelons to view the battle from the perspective of a specific tank, and also reduces the use of radio by lower tactical levels.

*Internal Status: The window is used for updating the status of the specific unit carrying the BASTION. It allows updating ammunition and fuel shortages, mechanical problems, casualties, etc. This information is only sent when the user chooses to (manually or in predefined intervals).

Vehicle Installation Possibilities:

As a rule, Bastion can be carried on any vehicle that has room for standard communications. There is also a helicopter version. There are however a few limitations:
*Vehicles without laser range finders or without electro-optic devices cannot fully utilize the system.
*Vehicles with non digital fire control systems cannot fully utilize the system.

Dismounted usage:

BASTION D.O.I or dismounted operations Interface is a kit allowing infantry to benefit from BASTION abilities while dismounted. This kit includes the following:
*Processor and communications package: Weighing 15 kilograms this includes the communications and processor for the BASTION, and a small wireless transmitter/receiver (with a range of 200 meters in open ground). It can be carried by one soldier in a similar fashion to a large infantry radio.
*Commanders interface package: This is a small LCD screen similar to that found in the vehicle version. It has a small wireless receiver/transmitter to allow communications with the processor package. The interface package weighs less than 1.7 kilograms.
*Optic and range unit: This is essentially a day and night electro-optic device the size of a large military binocular and weighing 3 kilograms. It also contains a small transmitter. This package allows infantry to range targets accurately and send out images and videos.

General:
The Universal Strike Fighter 2000 is a twin engine ground attack aircraft operated by two crew members. It relies on stealth rather than agility, and can carry a verity of air-to-ground and air-to air munitions. It can also operate off of large aircraft carriers.

Aerodynamics and layout:
The USF-2000 is a flying wing design, powered by two non-after burning engines. Construction is mainly carbon-fiber and glass composites. The aircraft has a fly-by-wire digital system is installed to assist the pilot in control of the aircraft. This digital system allows the pilot to maximize the ability of the aircraft without exceeding its capabilities and crashing. The USF-2000 was built as a stealth strike fighter, and relies both on its flying wing shape and RADAR absorbing materials to produce a very low RADAR cross section.

The USF-2000 was built to operate from aircraft carriers as well as standard runways. The wings can be folded for carrier purposes and a special retracting landing hook is installed.

Avionics:
The UNF-2000 has 4 main Systems in its avionics suite:
1) FAR100B Radar: This is a Active Electronically Scanned Array radar with 120 degrees field of view in azimuth and elevation. Capable of tracking up to 30 aerial and ground targets in long (up to 300km) and short ranges, displaying them on screen and in the HMD(for close range targets). The FAR100 has a low probability of interception by passive sensors, using a frequency hopping system.
2) CEWS-1: The “Countermeasures and Electronic Warfare System” combines several sub-systems:
* FRWR100: This is a Radar Warning Receiver which identifies tracks and classifies Radar emissions from possible threats (up to 400 km). The FRWR100 coordinates with other elements of the CEWS-1 system, the FAR100 and Anti-Radiation missiles (if carried) to allow the crew to engage and engage or evade threats quickly.
* Friend/Foe Identification system
*Electronic Countermeasures System, which automatically jams radar threats detected by the FRWR100.
*Infra Red and Ultra Violet Missile Approach Warning System, which warns of approaching missiles and interacts with other systems to defeat them.
*Automatic Flare and Chaff dispensers, cooperate with missile approach system and FRWR to defeat incoming missiles.
3) NINE: Night Integral Navigation and Engagement is an integral all weather/low visibility navigation and ground target engagement system. Using a ground tracking radar, FLIR sensor and a laser range finder/designator, the NINE allows for ground attack operations with maximum accuracy and without external pods. The NINE system is located under the wings (on both sides) and is integrated into the aircrafts aerodynamic design.
4) GIN: “GPS and Inertial Navigation” is a system that combines data from GPS as well as an inertial Navigation system to give navigation information even when the GPS system fails or the satellite signal fails.

Cockpit and Interface:
The USF-2000 features an all glass cockpit with HMD (Helmet Mounted Display) for the pilot and weapons operator. The two crewmen sit in tandem, with the pilot on the front and weapons operator to the back. Usually the pilot’s main focus is flying the aircraft, while the weapons operator operates the sensors and weaponry. However, the controls are completely identical, so each post allows to fully all systems fully if needed.
Each crewman has six LCD screens coupled with a central control touch screen allowing him to choose what information to display where. All warnings appear on a selected warnings screen and also announced by a voice system.
All systems are controlled by the central touch screen except for engine power (controlled by two throttles) and ailerons/elevators controlled by a side-stick.
In addition to these conventional controls, the INF-2000 has a voice-control system for many of its non-essential functions to allow faster more convenient interface. The system must have a template for a specific pilot in order for him to utilize it.
The HMD or Helmet Mounted display shows all flight data, FLIR view, navigation, threat warnings and weapons targeting. It allows the weapons operator and the pilot to direct weapons to the targets simply by looking at their direction and pressing a button on their side-stick.

Reduced Signature:
The USF-2000 is a fully stealth aircraft, with all cross-sections reduced to a minimum.
*The Airframe is of a flying wing type (similar to the B-2 Spirit) and gives the USF-2000 a very low radar cross-section.
*Most of the airframe is coated in Radar Absorbent Materials and a layer of RADAR absorbent paint.
*The Airframe and Engines have been designed to keep noise emissions to the possible minimum. The engines are non-after burning and are designed to produce a very weak thermal emission.

Armament:
20mm Gatling gun: mounted on the starboard wing root, 350 rounds of ammunition are carried for this weapon. Its high rate of fire (6300 rpm) and high muzzle velocity (1050 meters per second) make it ideal for close range air-to-air fighting as well as strafing soft ground targets.
The internal weapons bay can accommodate most types of air-to-air missiles and a range of small diameter air-to-ground munitions. There are no wing hardpoints as those would harshly effect the planes RADAR cross-section.

M.A.C- 56 5.56x45NATO Series Assault Rifles

http://i36.tinypic.com/k9uez7.png

Basically, the M.A.C-56 is an improved, lightened and refined SIG SG-550 series rifle manufactured under license in Anghele. The M.A.C-56 uses the same gas operated system, with gas piston removably attached to the bolt carrier, and with rotating bolt with two massive lugs. The recoil spring is located around the gas piston rod, above the barrel, and the bolt carrier attached to the gas piston rod by the mean of removable charging handle. The gas port has gas regulator with two different open and one closed position (latter for firing rifle grenades).

The receiver of all M.A.C-5X series guns is made from stamped steel which makes it very resistant and has two major parts, upper and lower, which are connected by pushpins. The barrel is screwed into the upper receiver.Corrosion issues with the Sig 55X line of rifles have been addressed in the M.A.C-56 and all metal parts are now coated with a super corosion resistant Maritime Finish. The trigger unit has a safety/fire selector switch on the left side of the receiver, with 3 settings: safe, semi-auto, full-auto.If desired, additional module could be installed in the trigger mechanism to allow 2/3-rounds burst mode. Rear sights are drum-type or carrying handle integrated red-dot sights (like those found on Heckler-Koch rifles). On certain current production models rear sight is replaced with full-length Picatinny style rail with folding back-up reat sight.

The M.A.C-56 has muzzle compensator/flash hider of NATO-standard diameter, so it is possible to launch rifle grenades from the muzzle and fit a sound suppressor.

The M.A.C-56 can be fitted with detachable folding bipods under the handguard, and is issued with side-folding, skeletonized polymer buttstock. Every rifle of M.A.C-56 family can be fitted with proprietary, quick detachable scope mount, although current production rifles are usually fitted with one or more picatinny rails. Export versions can be equipped with commercial telescope sights, ACOG or "red dot" sights, depending on customer preferences. The M.A.C-56 also can be fitted with bayonet. Standard magazine capacity M.A.C-56 rifles is 30 rounds.

Standard magazines are made of polymer can be clamped together for ease of carry, using the magazine studs on the side of the magazine walls.Further variants such as a Kurz (compact) model a mid-size battle rifle in 7.62 and a sniper rifle are being developed as well as a machine gun and 30/40mm grenade launching module.

M.A.C-56/7 S.A.W

http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/8148/saw72.png

The M.A.C56/7-S.A.W is a magazine fed, light machine gun, based on the M.A.C-56/7 family of firearms and available in 7.62 NATO or 5.56 NATO. It utilizes the same action as the rest of these firearms: a gas piston irremovably attached to the bolt carrier, and with rotating bolt with two massive lugs. The recoil spring is located around the gas piston rod, above the barrel, and the bolt carrier attached to the gas piston rod by the mean of removable charging handle. The gas port has a regulator which has 3 positions: 1- regular conditions (~1050 rpm), 2- adverse conditions, such as mud or heavy fouling (~900 rpm), 3- closed gas system which allows firing rifle grenades. The trigger unit has a safety/fire selector switch on the left side of the receiver, with 4 settings: safe, semi-auto, 2/3 round burst, full-auto.
The receiver of the S.A.W is made from stamped steel which makes it very resistant and has two major parts, upper and lower, which are connected by pushpins. The receiver and body of the S.A.W are strengthened, when compared to the M.A.C 5X, to allow sustained firing at high rates of fire. The barrel is heavier and longer than the one used in the M.A.C-5X rifles, and is detachable. Each S.A.W comes with a spare barrel, to use in prolonged firing. All metal parts are now coated with a super corrosion resistant Maritime Finish. The M.A.C-S.A.W has muzzle compensator/flash hider of NATO-standard diameter, so it is possible to launch rifle grenades from the muzzle. Sights consist of an integrated dual-optic sight and “O-shit” popping back up iron sights. For night operations a night sight (not included) can be installed on the carrying handle.

The S.A.W is capable of using all magazines from the M.A.C-5X family, but its standard magazine is a 120 /100 drum magazine, depending on the version (5.56/7.62). While most common ammunition will work with the S.A.W, it is best to use heavier loads used for LMGs.

M.A.C MGF-3 Universal Machine Gun

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/5797/mgf3mac.png

The MGF-3 is a short-recoil operated, air cooled, belt fed weapon which fires from an open bolt. The barrel is quick-removable, and can be replaced in less than six seconds by a properly trained crew, although an asbestos glove is required to remove the hot barrel. The action of the weapon is operated by the recoil of the locked barrel, assisted by a muzzle booster which uses pressure from the muzzle blast to increase the recoil impulse.

Locking is achieved by a pair of rollers, which are forced outwards from the sides of the bolt head to engage cuts in the barrel extension. Locking (outward) movement of the rollers is controlled by the wedge-shaped front part of the bolt body; unlocking (inward) movement of the rollers by the cams made in the receiver. This is a simple and solid system which minimizes the length of parts that are under stress upon discharge, and also minimizes the strain on the receiver. On MGF-3 machine guns, two types of bolts are available, with standard weight (about 650 gram) for fast rate of fire and with heavy weight (about 900 gram) for slow rate of fire. It must be noted that those bolts also are used along with different return springs. The barrel is held in place by a hinged lock, located at the rear of the opening in the right side of the jacket. To remove the barrel, the operator must first lock the bolt in the open position (cock the weapon), and then turn the barrel lock to the right and forward. This will release the barrel and bring its breech area out of the jacket, so it can be grabbed (using the issued asbestos glove or other heat insulation means if the barrel is hot) and pulled back and out of the jacket. The new barrel is then inserted all the way forward and lock then is snapped into place, bringing the barrel into alignment with the action.

The gun is fed using belts only. Feed direction is from the left to right; the feed is of the one-stage, push-through type. The belt is same as for the MG 34, with steel links with open pockets, assembled into non-disintegrating 50-round lengths. The same MG 34 type “Gurttrommel” 50-round drum-type belt containers can be used with the MGF-3, and a new type of lightweight plastic 50-round belt container was developed in Anghele by M.A.C and is now issued with MGF-3 guns. The belt feed is operated by the reciprocating bolt which has a roller at the top of its body. This roller engages the cam track in the oscillating lever, located in the top-opening feed cover. The lever operates the belt pawls in two steps, on both opening and closing movement of the bolt, resulting in a smooth and positive feed. This two-step belt traction is particularly useful because the high rate of fire results in high-speed belt movement, and this system reduces the strain put on both the feed unit and belt links.

Current production MGF-3 guns can fire either non-desintegrating or desintegrating belts.

The trigger unit permits semi and automatic fire. The manual safety is of the cross-bolt, push button type, located at the top of the pistol grip. The charging handle is located at the right side of the receiver, and is separated from the bolt group (it does not move when gun is fired). Each MGF-3 is issued with an integral, adjustable bipod attached near the muzzle; MGF-3 guns may have two points for bipod attachment, one near muzzle and another near the center of the gun. In the medium role, the MGF-3 is used from the Lafette 42, a complicated foldable tripod with buffered cradle. A wide number of tripods is available for MGF-3 , as produced in several countries.

The standard sights are open, fully adjustable, and mounted on folding bases. The universal tripod has provisions for mounting telescopic sights for long range and indirect fire missions.

M.A.C Type-147 | ASU

http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/733/mactype147asu.png

The M.A.C Type-147 | ASU has only minor differences from the basic M.A.C Type-147 | U assault rifle.

Specifications:

- Caliber: 7.62x39 mm

- Action: Gas operated, rotating bolt with 2 lugs

- Overall length: 735 mm (490 mm with folded buttstock)

- Barrel length: 215 mm

- Magazine capacity, 20 rounds standard

- Weight empty: 2,71 kg

- Effective range: about 300 meters

- Rate of fire: 850-985 rounds per minute

The M.A.C Type-147 | ASU has a severely shortened barrel, with the gas chamber moved back and appropriately cut down gas piston rod. Since the portion of the barrel after the gas port is very short, a special muzzle device was designed, which is used as a flash hider and the gas expansion chamber (to achieve reliable gas operated action). The front sight base is lowered, and the standard adjustable rear sight is replaced by the flip-up rear (marked for 200 and 400 meters distance), mounted on the receiver cover. The receiver cover is hinged to the receiver at the front and flips up when opened (original M.A.C Type-147 | U receiver cover is detachable). Otherwise the M.A.C Type-147 | ASU is similar to the M.A.C Type-147 | U, it has same controls and uses same magazines. The M.A.C Type-147 | ASU cannot be fitted with bayonet.A side-mounted rail for the night or red-dot scopes can be mounted as an optional,if so the designation becomes M.A.C Type-147 | ASUD

Asgarn 12.7x99mm Heavy Machine Gun

PRODUCTION VERSION : http://img372.imageshack.us/img372/3856/50bmgasganrha1.png

The Asgarn .50 BMG heavy machine gun is belt-fed, air-cooled machine weapon capable of semi-automatic and automatic fire. The Asgarn fires from a closed bolt at all times, and uses a short-recoil operated action with a vertically sliding locking block, which rises up to lock the bolt to the barrel extension, and drops down on recoil to unlock the bolt from the barrel. It also has a bolt accelerator, made in the form of a lever located at the bottom of the receiver. Upon recoil, once the barrel is unlocked from the bolt, it strikes the accelerator, so the kinetic energy of the recoiling barrel is quickly transmitted to the bolt, improving the reliability of the weapon.
It features a semi-direct gas-impingement system which by turning the gas plug from 1 to 6 increases and decreases the rate of fire of the machine gun by taking exiting gas from the barrel while firing and chanelling it to the bolt through reinforced gas tube, the gas plug system is also suitable (as seen on FN FAL´s) to increase reliability in extremely cold weather.

Barrels are screwed into the barrel extension and are not quick-detachable on standard Asgarn weapons; furthermore, once the barrel is installed in the weapon, the headspace must be adjusted prior to firing, or the weapon may fail to fire or produce a serious jam.The rear part of the barrel is enclosed in a short, tubular, barrel jacket with cooling slots, while the front part is fluted. The back of the receiver houses a heavily reinforced bolt buffer, and a special system of two additional buffers are used to soften the movement of the heavy barrel. On infantry guns, the cocking handle is installed on the right side of the weapon, but slots are made on both sides of the receiver for tank installations which may require a left-side cocking handle.

Asgarn machine guns use a disintegrating linked steel belt, with the feed switchable from one side to the other through the re-installation of certain parts in the feed unit. The belt feed is of the two stage type – every cartridge is first withdrawn from the belt toward the rear by the pivoting extractor lever, attached to the bolt. Once the cartridge is clear of the belt, it is lowered into a T-slot cut into the bolt face, and pushed forward into the barrel. Spent cartridge cases are forced down the T-slot and out of the weapon through an opening at the bottom of the receiver by the following cartridges, or by the pivoting belt extractor lever (for the last cartridge case). A rotary switch is used to select the track for left or right side feed.

Since the gun fires from a closed bolt, it has a separate firing pin, powered by its own spring, and hosted inside the bolt along with the sear and cocking lever. Upon the recoil stroke of the bolt, the cocking lever pulls the firing pin back until it is engaged by the sear. Once the bolt is fully in battery (locked closed), a pull on the trigger raises the trigger bar so it acts on the sear and releases the firing pin. The standard firing controls consist of a push-type thumb trigger and sear release buttons located between the dual spade grips. Alternatively, an electric solenoid trigger can be installed for mounted vehicle applications.

The Asgarn has an unusual method of providing semi-automatic fire – it has a bolt latch, which locks the bolt to the bolt buffer in the open position after each shot. Therefore, if gun is fired in semi-automatic mode (single shots), for each shot the operator must first release the bolt forward by pressing the bolt latch release, located next to the thumb trigger (as the gun fires from a closed bolt). After the bolt is released and the gun is loaded, the operator may push the trigger to fire a single bullet. If the automatic mode is desired, the bolt latch must be turned off and locked by turning its lock to the left. In this position it will not engage the bolt and the gun will fire continuously as long as the trigger is pressed. Asgarn heavy machine guns feature, among other items, an additional manual safety located next to the trigger.

Standard sights consist of a Hensoldt Optical Sight with 7.5x augmentation. Optionally, folding blade front and frame-type rear sights can be mounted. In this case the rear sight is mounted on the receiver, the front sight is located at the front of the receiver and protected by an arc-shaped sight protector. Additionally, various types of other telescopic and night sights can be installed using appropriate mountings.

The SF-9/P is a new PDW development of M.A.C Defense.

The SF-9/P PDW follows the current trend for modularity of design, with intent of providing a compact personal defense weapon of about pistol size but of greater effectiveness for military personnel which is normally not issued with rifle of any kind.It has already been adopted by the Anghele Army,Navy,Air Force and Law Enforcement, and is in use with some Special Forces units abroad.

The SF-9/P is delayed blowback operated weapon that fires in single shots 2 or 3 rounds bursts and in fully automatic mode. It is made mostly from rust and heat resistant metal alloy and impact resistant polymers, with metal alloy upper receiver and a polymer lower receiver. Barrel and bolt can be replaced to change the caliber from standard Armor Piercing 9x19 +P+ to .40 S&W and .357 SIG Armor Piercing Rounds. The change will also require use of different magazines, which, in turn, may require replacement of the grip. The removable grip and the magazine body are made from polymer for easy check of remaining ammunition supply.

The SF-9/P features ambidextrous controls, including safety, fire mode selector, bolt catch release and magazine release. It is fitted with a telescopic buttstock. Praetoria Class Battleship

Price: 5.500.000.000$

Image:http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/7003/praetoriaclass.png

Background:

Seeking to further its involvement in the naval arms market, NPS decided to develop a battleship class. While the design team that worked on the FAC-360 project wanted a sleek, stealthy design, this clashed with other demands. The main issue was that M.A.C and NPS executives saw the market for a battleship armed with many guns, to be used in support of amphibious landings. As the designers realized that the sheer amount of turrets would increase the ships RADAR cross-section, they decided to create two designs, using much of the same technology. One would be armed with many long range guns and the other will rely more on stealth than on firepower.
The Praetoria is the design that was made to carry as much guns as possible.

Specifications:
Place of Origin: International.
Designer: Nachmere Precision Systems | Naval Designs.
Manufacturer: M.A.C Anghele, M.A.C Nachmere, and M.A.C Wolf Hold.
Production Status: In Production.
Crew: 450 officers and 1300 enlisted men.
Length: 425.3 meters.
Beam: 67meters.
Draft: 20.3 meters.
Displacement: 175,000 tons.
Missiles: 64XASL-720, 36XASL-360, 24XAAM-720, 64XAAM-360
Guns: 8X510mm/50 calibers ETC, 6X260mm ETC, 8X150mm ETC, 10X20mm Gatling.
Anti Submarine: 16 torpedoes and 40 depth charges.
Sensors: Air-Surface RADAR, Passive/Active Sonar, Other (see full text)
Armor: 250mm maximum, 50mm minimum.
Propulsion: Three NNE1 nuclear reactors, 6 steam turbines, 6 shafts, 442,000 sHP
Top speed: 35 knots.
Range: Virtually unlimited (Reactor life span of 25 years)

Construction and structure:

The Peatoria like a true battle ship is mainly made of steel. Some parts like the sensor mast, bridge, and internal divisions are made of plastic composites. The ship has an unusual hull shape called “Tumblehome”, meaning the upper deck is narrower than the water line. The ship also has a ram shaped bow, meant to cut through the waves rather than ride over them. Both of these features, while seemingly reminiscent of days gone by, are actually effective both hydro-dynamically and especially for reducing the RADAR cross-section of the ship.
The ships heavy guns are carried in turrets on the top deck, with the lower decks holding missile bays. Ammunition is stored in highly protected magazines under the huge turrets. Almost all of the crew quarters are arranged under the bridge, as the bridge is the center of all activities onboard. The bridge itself along with much of the ships sensors is super imposed on the center of the ship, between the two main gun turrets.
To the rear of the hull is an internal 2 helicopter hangar and landing pad.

Weaponry:

The Praetoria is armed with anti-surface and anti-air weaponry of all types and ranges. While the ships arsenal of missiles is quite large enough to engage in even the most intense fighting, it also has a very massive gun array.

1) Guns:

The guns on the Praetoria are house in turrets on the sides and center of the upper deck. All guns can be retracted or lowered to reduce their cross-section. The arsenal includes 22 ETC guns, 8 of which are 500mm/50 calibers that fire a 2000kg round to a maximum range of 60 kilometers. All gun turrets are operated from the lower part of the bridge by electronic controls. The guns are laid to target using data from a FCS system (see below). The smaller, 150mm guns also have an electro-optic system for close range encounters.
This massive fire power is mainly meant to support amphibious landings by completely suppressing the enemy’s positions. At a secondary role the guns can be used to engage naval targets at ranges of 0-60 kilometers.
The Praetoria also has 10 20mm Gatling guns in retractable turrets, which are a part of the CIWS/APS. The guns are meant to engage incoming missiles but can also be manually aimed at small surface threats at close ranges

2) Missiles:

The Praetoria is armed with 4 types of missiles. Two of the missiles are meant for engaging land and sea targets, and the other two meant for air defense.
ASL-360/720: Originally developed for the FAC-360, the ASL-360 missile is a dual purpose, medium range missile capable of engaging land and sea targets with a HE warhead. The ASL-360 has a small RADAR cross section and low flight altitude allowing it to evade enemy countermeasure and air defense systems. The missile has two strike modes. The first is “Naval” in which the missile flies at sea skimming (5 meters) altitude and then hits the enemy vessel near the water line. The second is “Ground” in which the missile sea skims up to the shore line and then climbs to 40 meters and attacks its target from above. In both modes the missile is guided by several systems (see specifications). The ASL-720 is essentially an up scaled ASL-360. It uses the same electronics and operates in much the same way, but has a much longer range and a larger payload. The ASL-720 is the main anti-surface missile on the Praetoria, but it is complimented by the ASL-360 for use against smaller targets that do not require the expenditure of the larger missile.
Both the ASL-360 and ASL-720 are launched from VLS on the upper decks.

ASL-360/ASL-720 specifications:
Length: 4 meters/6.5 meters
Weight: 420 kg/1400 kg
Warhead: 130 kg HE fragmentation/ 450kg HE fragmentation
Engine: Solid fuel rocket at launch and a turbofan while cruising.
Range: 200km/2000km
Flight Altitude: Sea skimming (5 meters)/ Terrain Hugging (40 meters)
Speed: 0.85 Mach
Guidance: Combined Inertial/GPS + terrain reference/ electro-optical + IR

AAM-360S: Based on the original AAM-360 developed for the FAC-360, this version is meant only for the point defense role. It can engage targets as small as air launched anti-shipping missiles at short ranges and high speed. The missile is guided by a combination of RADAR and an IIR seeker. When launched it is guided to its target by RADAR and then switches to IIR guidance for the last second of travel. The AAM-360S on the Praetoria are launched from 4 retractable box launchers on the top deck.

AAM-360 Specifications:
Length: 2.11 meters
Weight: 97 kg
Warhead: 22 kg HE fragmentation
Engine: Solid fuel rocket
Range: 0.2-10 km
Service Ceiling: 7000 meters
Guidance: RADAR Command to Line of Sight and IIR seeker.

AAM-720: The AAM-720 is a medium range SAM system that gives the Pratoria very good anti-aircraft abilities. The missile is launched vertically from the rear part of the upper deck. It is guided by a dual semi-active RADAR and IIR seeker which allows engaging targets with low RADAR cross sections or targets with advanced ECMs.

AAM-720 Specifications:
Length: 3.5 meters
Weight: 560 kg
Warhead: 40 kg HE fragmentation
Engine: Solid fuel rocket
Range: 10-110 km
Service Ceiling: 21,000 meters
Guidance: RADAR Command to Line of Sight and IIR/Smi Active RADAR seeker.

4) Torpedoes:
4 torpedo launchers, 2 at the front and to the rear of the ship, allow the Praetoria to carry 8 ready to fire torpedoes of up to 400mm in diameter. Another 8 torpedoes can be carried in the loading systems.

5) Depth Charges/Acoustic Decoys launchers:
3 launchers for standard size depth charges and are located at each side of rear hull. Up to 40 standard sized depth charges size charges can be carried in a loading system with 10 ready to launch. 10 acoustic decoys are ready to fire and 20 more held in the loading system. This gives the Praetoria an ability to engage submarines at close ranges.

Sensors and fire control:

Most sensors aboard the Praetoria are located on the integrated mast on top of the bridge area. The following systems are used to detect and engage targets:

1)An integrated fire control system guides both the ASL-360/720 and AAM-360/720 to their targets. The system processes information from the sensors for the ASL-360/720, giving the missile GPS data calculated by the RADAR or entered manually, target trajectory, ground imagery (if available), and target imagery(if available). When reaching the target the missile sensors use what data is available for terminal guidance. For AAM-720 the system guides the missile to one second distance of the target using RADAR data, from which point sensors on the missile take over.

2)A multi-purpose air and surface passive electronically scanned RADAR system is used to detect and track targets at ranges of up to 200 kilometers and altitudes of up to 25 kilometers. The RADAR communicates information to the integrated fire control system.

3)A separate fire control system and RADAR is used for the long range guns on board. RADAR is used to range targets and than a digital ballistic fire control system which calculates a fire solution based on the following data: bend of the gun measured by the muzzle reference system; velocity measurement from a wind sensor; data from a pendulum static cant sensor; temperature, and barometric pressure from a sensor on the turret roof; target speed by RADAR; Coriolis effect, etc.

4)A close range RADAR and fire control for the 20mm guns, used to direct 20mm fire towards close in threats. The system also allows to manually fire the guns at small close range targets if needed.

5)The Praetoria carries a SONAR suite located in the front and rear of the ship. To the front is a hull integrated active/ passive variable depth SONAR array. The array is used to detect, track and classify underwater targets. The front SONAR array also has interception SONAR capable of identifying and classifying hostile SONAR systems. The rear towed passive SONAR array is used for enhanced ASW capabilities when needed.

6)Incoming missile warning system which combines 4 small fire control radars and 4 IR and UV sensors to detect incoming missiles homing in on the ship. This system works with the ships HASK system to defeat incoming missiles and projectiles.

Counter Measures and Electronic Warfare:

The Praetoria has a full countermeasures, early warning and electronic warfare suite to deal with all types of threats. Here are the main systems:

1)HASK- Hard and Soft Kill anti-missiles and projectile system combines two systems. The first is a soft kill system based on radio jamming and optical/IR decoys to defeat small guided missiles. The second is a hard kill system which is similar to the one on NPS AFVs, and is meant to defeat threats that were not defeated by soft-kill methods. The Hard kill system, unlike the one on the FAC-360, does not use quick launch projectiles. The system has two weapon systems. The first system is the AAM-360, already discussed above. The second are 10 20mm guns that can fire up to 4500 rounds per minute at incoming threats.

2)TOSK- Torpedo Soft Kill System- uses data from the SONAR arrays to detect incoming torpedoes. When a torpedo is located an acoustic decoy is launched and the ship’s crew is advised as to the best maneuver to avoid the incoming threat.

3)RADAR warning Receiver is located in the mast and detects hostile RADAR emissions to alert the fire control and countermeasures systems of possible threats. The receiver locates and ranges hostile systems allowing the ship to evade or engage threats.

Mobility and Maneuverability:

The Praetoria is powered by 3 104 MW nuclear reactors. These power 6 steam-turbines that turn 6 shafts. The result is 442,000 shaft horse powers, enough to move this massive ship at 35 knots. The ship also has rudders and bow-thrusters for harbor maneuvering.

Helicopter Operations:

The Praetoria has a helicopter landing pad and hangar capable of holding two medium helicopters (like the Blackhawk). This area is located to the back of the ship, with the landing pad being an elevator which lowers to the hangar floor.

Stealth/Low Cross Section:

The Praetoria has a 20% lower combined cross-section than most ships her size. This was achieved thanks to several features:
1)“Tumblehome“shaped hull which decreases RADAR returns from side-profile.

2)Ram shaped bow, which decreases RADAR returns from a front-profile.

3)Retractable or semi-retraceable weapons that together with specially shaped turrets reduce RADAR cross section from all angles.

4)Thermal absorbing materials coat most heat producing spots.

5)Prairie-Masker system which reduces SONAR cross-section of the ship.

Command Control and Communications:

The bridge is fully digitized, and is managed by the CSC3 system. This system collects and displays information from all the ships sensors and system to the four main stations of the bridge: command, propulsion and navigation, fire control and EW, and communications. The system allows each station to access information needed from any part of the ship, share it instantly with the other stations or other vessels or other parts of the ship.
External communications include satellite communications, and radio transmitters/receivers in all standard military frequencies. The communication system allows for voice, data and visual communications. Internal communications comprise of an internal audio, data and loud speaker systems in every critical part of the ship.
Navigation systems are based on GPS navigation, with inertial systems as a backup. The GPS system is ready to integrate into any existing battle management system, and has very flexible code.

Safety and Emergency:

The Praetoria has many systems to assure crew survival and safety in emergency and routine situations. These are the main systems and features:
1)A fire detection and suppression system which detects fire using heat/light sensors and uses BCF canisters to suppress the fire. The ship also has hoses using seawater for use on the upper deck and manually operated BCF canisters for use in the lower decks.

2)All ammo and fuel stores are designed to direct an explosion out of the ship and to seal off to prevent water flooding the ship.

3)40 inflatable life rafts with water tight survival equipment and supplies are located on the bridge and upper deck, and can be deployed in less than 3 minutes to allow the crew to abandon ship.

4)A sickbay with 65 beds and equipment to deal with up to 150 wounded (using other parts of the ship) is located on the ship. The sickbay is equipped to deal with major trauma and routine injuries. There is a fully equipped operation room and a 20 bed intensive care area. The sick bay has full access to external communications allowing the ships doctors to communicate with other ship or shore based medical facilities by audio and visual communications. The Sick bay is located near the Helipad to allow medical evacuation quickly and easily.

Crew quarters and amenities:

Located mainly under the bridge is the crew sleeping and amenities area. This are includes:

1) Crew quarters, separated for officers and enlisted man, with a total of 1000beds. Each sailor has a private storage area. There is one toilet and one shower per 30 men.

2)4 messes and 2 kitchens, capable of seating 400 men at once.

3)R&R facilities including 2 gyms, 6 media-entertainment rooms( seating 50 each), 2 canteens, a communications room with internet access and satellite phone lines, and a library.

Background:

The ATAV-2 started as a private venture by NPS, to create an Anti-Tank Guided Missile launch platform that is both well protected and highly mobile. The project used major components from two previous NPS designs- The TM-2 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14662495&postcount=275) medium tank and the Hunter (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=590528) GLATGM.

From the TM-2 the ATAV-2 borrows its automotive components and hull, while the TLFFR 150 Assassin missile borrowed extensively from the Hunter’s guidance and propulsion. In addition the project required development in guidance and optics for the missile.

Important note- This description has two sections. The first regards the ATAV-2 launching vehicle and the second regards the TLFFR 150 missile system itself. Please read through the entire post.

Inside the vehicle is a loading system holding 16 more tubes, in two 8 tube carousels. After the two missiles are fire from the tubes on the launcher, the tubes are jettisoned. The launcher arm than lowers in to the hull and two new tubes are loaded.

B)The ATAV-2 has a 7.62mm machine gun in a remote operated weapons station. The Weapons station is retractable and controlled from the “weapons operator A” compartment. It has 270 rounds ready to use and 2700 more are carried internally and can be loaded. The commander’s hatch is located near the weapons station and when he is commanding the vehicle with his head out, he can use the MG manually.

C)A 2X6 80mm close range grenade launching system, located at the front of the vehicle and capable of engaging infantry at close ranges(60 meters). The grenade types fired by the system are: Fragmentation, White-Phosphorus, Less-Than-Lethal “Flash-bang”, Less-Than-Lethal Tear Gas, IR Screening, and IR Decoy.

Observation and sensors

The ATAV-2 has several observation systems. The main observation system is the day and night sight(discussed in detail below). In addition the vehicle also has a wave millimeter RADAR(also discussed below).

The driver has either three observation periscopes or two periscopes on both sides and a Driver’s Thermal Viewer. The periscopes provide 120°field of view. The driver also has a rear view camera with thermal imaging for night operations.

Mobility:

The ATAV-2 is powered by a multi-fuel 1200hp, twin turbo charged engine, producing 900kw. The engine is located at the back of the tank coupled to a hydro-mechanical transmission. The transmission is semi-automatic with 5 forward gears and two backward gears, as well as a pivot gear.

The ATAV has 6 pairs of road wheels on each side, with helical spring and hydraulic dampers for each pair. The combination of Helical and Hydraulic dampers improves ride comfort over harsh mountain terrain. The tracks are 550mm wide with no rubber soles. Connection between sections is made by a separate pin. This makes for quick section replacement and while pin erosion is high, section erosion is relatively low.

Protection and survivability:

The ATAV-2 is protected by a combination of composite passive armor, Non Explosive Reactive Armor, and an Active Protection system.
Armor: The armor is composite and made of layers of steel, DU (Depleted Uranium), and ceramics. The crew compartments in the TM-2 are lined with Kevlar to prevent spalling. The passive armor is angled and in some parts spaced, to protect against medium(up to 130mm) KE threats at contact ranges.

Reactive Armor: ATAV has spaced, multi-layered NERA (Non Explosive Reactive Armor) plates on most of its hull. The reactive armor suite protects the tank against most CE threats.

Active Protection: The ATAV-2 Is equipped with an active protection system based on fire-control radar and a “hard-kill” launching system. The fire control radar, located on top of the hull, identifies incoming rockets and missiles and classifies them. It than reacts by firing a quick reaction projectile from one of the 20 carried around the hull. This projectile engages the threat 50 meters away from the vehicle by detonating on it. The system is reloadable and storage in the AFV allows for 20 extra projectiles to be carried.

Screening and Decoys: The ATAV-2 carries 2 6 tube 80mm. grenade launchers on the front of the hull. These tubes can fire IR Screening and IR Decoy grenades to help the AFV screen or avoid incoming threats. In addition the vehicle is equipped with a standard self screening using condensed diesel fumes.

Fire suppression: ATAV-2 uses several systems to prevent and suppress fires. The crew compartment has 5 BCF canisters and 5 optical/thermal fire detectors. The canisters are operated either automatically by the detectors or manually by the crew. 2 more BCF canisters are located in the engine compartment and can be operated from the driver’s controls or from outside the vehicle. The driver and commander have red-light indicators for an engine fire. The diesel fuel for the engine is stored in 5 tanks in the front and back of the AFV, with cutoff valves allowing the use of each tank separately.

Explosion prevention: The missile reloading system is especially protected and has Blowout panels to direct explosion energy away from the crew. The crew seats are all of the suspended type, keeping them above the floor in case of an explosion underneath the vehicle.

NBC protection: The ATAV-2 is equipped with an overpressure system. The system pumps air from outside the vehicle through a system of filters and into to the crew compartment, creating an overpressure that keeps contaminated air out if the tank is fully buttoned. If the tank cannot be fully buttoned, each crew member can use an individual, pressurized mask with a 90% field of vision. The overpressure system is integrated with an air-condition system but will operate even if that system is damaged.
The ATAV-2 has towing shackles on its front, back and sides, to enable recovery in hard situations.

Communications and interface:

Internal communications: The ATAV-2 has internal communications system, with headsets integrated to ballistic helmets. The system allows the commander to choose which crew members he hears and can hear him. The system has a separate commander to driver channel, receiving power from the best protected battery, to ensure the commander can always communicate with the driver. The system also has a wireless ability, which switches on automatically when the helmets are disconnected from the system; this prevents crew members being accidently disconnected and allows for faster dismount drills.

External Communications: The ATAV-2 is prepared to accept 2 transmitter-receivers and 2 receivers, antenna bases being integral. The antenna bases allow for lowering the antennas forwards and backwards from inside. The TM-2 is equipped with a AFV/infantry telephone located at the rear of the vehicle and connected to the commander’s internal communications.

Battlefield Management and Navigation: The ATAV-2 is equipped with the BASTION (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14715018&postcount=381) system.

Interface: The crew interface of the ATAV-2 includes a LCD screen/Control for each crew member, clearly showing the information that crew member needs. The LCD screen/Control is encased in high-resistance polymer and has buttons allowing control of many systems in the tank. These electronic controls are all backed-up by conventional switches and controls in case they malfunction.

Amenities:

The ATAV-2 gives its crew all that’s needed to fight and stay buttoned for long periods. A 50 liter internal, NBC protected water tank supplies hot and cold water through a water point. An air-conditioning system connects to the crews overalls to keep them cool while fighting or warm while waiting. The ATAV-2 can hold 7 days worth of rations for its crew. An electric cooking pan, along with plates and utensils are stored in special compartment.

Section 2: The missile system- TLFFR 150

The Tube Launched Fire and Forget or RADAR-150 “Assassin” is based on the “Hunter” GLATGM, but has many modifications. The Fire and Forget system, IIR seeker, and RADAR jammer are identical to the ones used on the “Hunter”. The RADAR system was developed for the “Assassin”, as was the radio command system.

Specifications:
Total weight: 46kg (with tube)
Warhead: Tandem HEAT, 8kg
Range: 10.000 Meters.
Speed: 400 Meters per second
Time to maximum range: 25 seconds
Guidance: Electro-Optic/IIR seeker fire and forget, RADAR, Combined
Attack modes: Top Attack, Direct Attack
Penetration: 1000mm RHA after reactive armor
Cost per unit: DPRs given with purchase of ATAV-2, for use only on ATAV-2

In general the “Assassin” system has 6 sub systems:

1)A retractable, 2 rail launching system for TLFFR-150 “Assassin” ATGM. The launcher is housed in the center of the vehicle, and deployed before firing. Inside the vehicle is a loading system holding 16 more tubes, in two 8 tube carousels. After the two missiles are fire from the tubes on the launcher, the tubes are jettisoned. The launcher arm than lowers in to the hull and two new tubes are loaded. The rate of fire is up to 12 missiles per minute.

2)A day and night optical sight, located at the front of the vehicle. This system is based on sights used in other NPS AFV designs, mainly that of the TM-2. The system combines a electro-optic sight with a Thermal Imaging System for night operations. Both in day and night modes, the system has magnification x10 in narrow field of view and x3 in a wide field of view. This sight is used for observation and for firing missiles in Fire and Forget mode.

3)Wave millimeter RADAR which is located near the optical sight. It has a theoretical range of 10,000 meters and allows accurate identification of targets at 8000 meters. The RADAR is used to direct the missile in the radio command mode.

4)A fire control system. This system collects data from the sight and the RADAR, displays it on the controls of both the weapons operators, and processes the commands from the controls to send them to the missile over a radio transmitter.

5)Radio transmitter with a range of 10,000 meters used to guide the missile in radio control mode.

6)The TLFFR-150 missile itself- see more information below.

The TLFFR-150 missile is made of these main components:

1)Flight rocket engine- A solid rocket engine which is used to propel the missile out of the tube and to its target

2)A primary HEAT charge, which is used to penetrate the target.

3)A precursor HEAT charge, used to trigger NERA or ERA plates on the target and clear the way for the main charge.

4)RADAR Jammer- A combined Barrage Jamming and Digital Radio Frequency Memory jammer installed on the front of the missile.

5)A radio receiver used to receive guidance from the fire control system.

6)Imaging Infra Red Seeker: Used to detect emissions from the target and provide information for guidance. The IIR is cooled by compressed gas.

7)Electronics Package: This includes the processing units that receive target data from the fire control, process data from the IR seeker, and control the flight of the missile.

8)Batteries: Two batteries power the electronics, seeker and servos.

9)Servos and fins: 4 fins are located at the back of the missile each controlled by a servo.

RADAR jammer:

The Jammer combines two jamming methods, the first is barrage jamming. The jammer powers up 150 meters above the target and jams in all known frequencies used by APS systems.

Operation:

The “Assassin” has 5 modes of operation. These modes are: Fire and Forget, Radio Command, Simultaneous Launch, TMOT, and Anti Helicopter

Fire and Forget- The missile is aimed by the thermal imaging system prior to launch. The fire control system transmits target data to the missile through a physical connection on the launcher. The missiles are launched and the IIR seeker identifies the target. The missile than guides itself to the target and attacks it in a top-attack path. This is the standard launch mode.

Radio Command- The missile is aimed by the RADAR. The operator locks the RADAR on target and the RADAR than guides the launched missile to its target via a radio link. The missile attacks the mode in a top-attack approach. This mode is used to engage targets at longer ranges, targets using thermal decoys, or targets using thermal reducing materials.

Simultaneous Launch- This mode is meant to allow two missiles to be fired at the exact same time. One weapons operator uses the Radio Command mode while the other uses the other uses the Fire and Forget mode. Each aims at a different target. This allows firing both missiles at the exact time. This mode is very useful in ambushing armor, as it allows destroying many tanks in the first moment of engagement.

Anti Helicopter- The anti helicopter mode is essentially similar to the simultaneous launch mode. The difference is that in this mode one weapons operator uses both systems to engage a single target. This means that two missiles are launched at the same time at the helicopter using two different guidance systems. The missiles engage the helicopter in a direct attack approach. This mode increases the chances of hit against a helicopter considerably.

TMOT- Two Missiles One Target. This mode is used against targets with very advanced countermeasures and active protection systems. It is similar to the anti helicopter mode but the missiles engage the target in the normal top attack approach.

Presenting the new M.A.C | Defense line of high-power Eagle pistols.

Eagle series of pistols are gas operated, locked breech pistols that use stationary (but removable) barrels. Locking is achieved using the separate rotating bolt with four radial lugs that enter the breech of the barrel for engagement with respective cuts.

The bolt is inserted into open-topped slide, which is operated using gas, which is bled from the bore through the small port drilled close to the chamber.

A short stroke gas piston is located below the barrel closer to the muzzle, and gas chamber is linked to the gas port with long channel, bored below the barrel.

Trigger is of single action type, with exposed hammer and ambidextrous safety, located at either side of the slide. Magazines are high capacity single stack. Sights are either fixed or adjustable, both front and rear being dovetailed into the barrel and slide respectively.

OOC : First of all,I´m not making you purchase anything at all, second,if you want to produce the weapons in your factories,be my guest,if someone asks you where did you get the money to build the factories, buy materials and produce the numbers of weapons you quote, you will need to justify all of that with government funds.

And I only stock RL weapons, because M.A.C doesn´t manufacture some weapons, that´s why the RL are sold here,to compliment M.A.C developed weapons.

And if you are really interested in knowing why RL weapons are sold to countries who can produce them, you are better off talking to United Earthlings,he does that (he stocks more RL products than NS products by a large margin),and he managed to create one of the biggest if not the biggest arms selling storefronts in NS,selling mostly RL equipment. How ironic.

Official Communique --- The Democratic Islamic Republic of Italia Orientale

To: M.A.C. Industries
From: Muhammad Ali Giuliani, Minister of War

The Democratic Islamic Republic of Italia Orientale would like to purchase the following:

- 80 9P140 Uragan 220mm Multiple Rocket Launcher = $80,000,000
- 2 Praetoria Class Battleships = $11,000,000,000
- Total = $11,080,000,000

We are also very interested in purchasing the Soc-12 "Nightmare" Spec-Ops boat. We are aware that this craft is reserved only for Rolling Dead at this time, but we hope that you can make an exception in this case. Our naval combat doctrine places a great emphasis on small, quick attack craft and the Soc-12 would be the perfect addition to our arsenal. We are willing to even pay above the sticker price if necessary in order to obtain these magnificent boats. We were ideally looking to purchase about 90 of them, but will settle for the greatest number possible if it is below that. A purchase of 90 ships, with a sale value of $9 million each, should come out to $810 million plus whatever duties or surcharges you may add onto the sale. Please let us know if the purchase for the Soc-12 is possible and in what quantities we may receive it and at what price.

The sum of the sale will be sent in total upon order confirmation.

Thank you,
Minister Giuliani

M.A.C | Defense H-40P Semi-Automatic Pistol

http://i44.tinypic.com/2s1qjuu.png

The H-40P is an affordable, simple sidearm for military, law enforcement and self protection.

The hammer is exposed and the pistol has a frame mounted safety.

The pistol can be carried cocked and locked(a round chambered and the safety engaged).

The polymer frame has integral picatinny rails on the front and a cavity in the grip that allows the installation of a detachable stock.

Specifications :

Type: Double Action Semi-Automatic pistol

Cartridge: .40 S&W

Weight Unloaded: 720g

Length: 205mm

Barrel Length: 108mm

Magazine Capacity: 15 rounds
