A Most Profitable Meeting (Closed ATTN Mokastana)

IBU Banks
29-10-2008, 14:52
Michael Scurr, Chairman of IBU Banks, was both excited, confused and nervous concerning the upcoming meeting with the leaders of Montana Financial. The communications which he had recieved had been vague and he had no idea what the meeting would be about. He had a feeling about it though, a good feeling in the pit of his stomach. This would be a most profitable meeting, of that he was sure.

The private jet was experiencing a little turbulence as it roared through the air. Scurr had never been a huge fan of flying, though he kept a personal collection of several aircraft. Beevor, his tall bodyguard, provided a reassuring presence beside him. Conflicting arguments had raged through his head; would it be innapropriate to bring a bodyguard? It may seem a little threatening to the people he was about to meet, but it was his only defense in a different country where he knew no one. He had finaly decided that bringing Beevor was an essentialy good idea.

With a scraping skid upon the ground of the runway Scurr's plane touched down upon foreign ground. Shivvering with a peculiar coctail of fear and expectation, he began the short walk down the steps with Beevor walking a few paces behind.

Bogota, Mokastana

The small plane had landed and soon Nicoli Kushkev could see the Chairman of IBU banks walking out with bodyguard in tow. He looked like a true banker, nervous yet more then happy to oblige when the possibility of profit arose. This man was considered a VIP and therefore was to get all the benefits of a guest of Montana Incorporated.

At the end of the runway two limos waited with one lead Humvee waited for their guest. All marked with the Montana Incorporated (http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff213/mokastana/montanainc.png?t=1225306904) Seal on the doors of the black vehicles.

Next to Nicoli was the Financial Chairman, Paul Batista, who came up to greet the IBU Chairman. His face revealed that the body guard was not a problem, if anything it was expected.

"Greetings and welcome to Mokastana, Mr. Scurr. We will be heading to the World Headquarters complex from here it is only a 20 minute drive."

"A pleasure to meet you my good sirs, may I introduce my personal bodygaurd Jekyl Beevor." said Scurr, gesturing towards the six and a half foot tall man standing slightly behind him. He looked at his watch. "And it looks like I am just in time; I don't like to be late for my appointments."

He shook hands with both of the men in turn and headed towards the vehicles which waited at the end of the runway. "Excuse my ignorance," he added. "But I have absolutely no idea what we are here to discus." His voice was trembly and wavering; he had suffered from breathing problems all of his life. With long fingers he brushed a wip of his snow white hair from his face and looked at his associates with a smile.

"No it is quite alright Mr. Scurr, you were not given much information for a reason. I don't mean to worry you, but we would appreciate it if the details of our proposition do not leave these limos or the office."

Batista opened the limo door for the Chairman and his body guard. Allowing them to get inside, and were quickly followed by Nicoli and Paul inside the Limo. and the convoy rode off for the 20 minute ride to the campus of the World Headquarters.

"You see, Montana Incorporated is one of the largest Pharmaceutical Companies in the world. We have a total revenue of about 1.4 Trillion annually from Pharmaceutical sales alone. So when I tell you we make quite a bit of money I mean it. Normally my Financial department can handle the Monetary assets of the company, but we are investing in many other Banks and Holdings firms because the Mokan Labor is slipping, and we would like more stable currencies to balance our books on. Here let us not discuss the details here, let's get to the meeting hall first. How is your family?"

The image of all that money excited the greedy mind of the old banker. Scurr's Banks made no where near that ammount of money, and a potential ally with such a high revenue could only be a good thing. The explanation had clarified things a little, but the secrecy of the matter intrigued him greatly.

"My family? My family, or what is left of it, are doing quite nicely. They all have good jobs within the family firm. Three of them, however, are dead now. A most regrettable business indeed. What about you, my good sirs?"

Nicoli had a quiet reaction, looking at the man with a quiet glare.

"They are fine."

Paul on the other hand noticed his partners reaction and quickly put the attention back on him.

"I am sorry to hear about that. I did not mean to strike a sensitive subject like that. My family is doing well."

The limo continued down the highway as two large towers came into view. Minus some window work being done on one of the towers they looked magnificent. These were the landmarks of Montana Inc World Headquarters, a large campus that stretched over 4 square miles. However the Campus was designed to allow quick transportation and soon the limo had pulled up to a smaller office building. The sign outside the Building was simply labeled:

Financial Office 3
Non-Montana Accounts and Deposits
Investments and Records

Paul opened up the limo door and lead the two men to a rather lavish meeting hall with a small computer built in to every chair and a large screen at the end, opposite of where the head of the table would sit normally. A waiter stood in a corner, a simple name tag said: Mendez

"Please, have a seat wherever you prefer. Mendez please take care of our guest."

"Can I get you anything to drink good sirs?"

"Just a glass of water, please." said Scurr, taking a seat. His doctor had forbidden him to drink alcohol due to his frail health. He was fealing good today, but it was not a risk he was willing to take. He remained intrigued by Nicoli's reaction earlier, but decided not to push the issue any further. He had no desire to ruin this meeting.

Nicolas noticed the meeting was going well and excused himself to leave. Paul spoke quietly to him in Spanish and waved him off. Turning back to the guest Paul ordered a juice and sat across the table from their guest. Two other Montana employees soon entered carrying binders and presentation equipment. One handed the banker.

"Thank you for coming, now before you open that binder and look at what is in it I would like to explain a few things. Montana Inc promises no matter how this meeting goes, to invest heavily in your Bank, even if you do not adhere to all of our 'request'. Now if you look inside you may see why this meeting was kept in secret and preferably on our soil."

The opening title was:

Opportunities and offers for Financial Firms
Money Operations

The next page held the table of contents, some where called 'Laundering Benefits', and 'Protection for Montana Assets'.

"Allow me to explain. While Montana Inc does do a lot of legal business, we have some operations being done, under the table so to speak. For example, selling rebel groups the weapons they need to fight dictators. Needless to say some governments will look down on these kinds of sales. In addition to this we do sell drugs to similar groups, mostly pharmaceuticals, but we cannot guarantee that our customers always use them that way.

Now where you come in, is that most of the money made from these transactions is cash, and normally we can 'launder' so to speak within our own organization, but as with success some operations grow, and while we can handle it still I would prefer to have outside banks helping me in this operation.

If you are willing to help, Montana Inc is willing to invest over a billion dollars into your bank. As well as give you a cut of each cleaning, to be discussed here. Mind you most sums will be in the millions. So, do I have your interest?"

Scurr leant back in his chair. What this man was suggesting was potentialy illegal, but a few years ago he was doing the same thing. IBU Banks had funded the Parilisan Revolutionary Forces with weapons and medical assistance. He decided not to reveal that yet; he was more interested in profit.
"Such actions," he said "Could be potentialy dangerous to IBU. We would need a gauruntee of financial means. How much profit would these enterpirses make us?"

"Well that is to be discussed here amigo. Normally if we process, ohh lets say 10% of our "questionable" profits threw you, that would be about...(fipping though papers)... $700 million annually to start with. So gentlemen, what percent of $700 million would you like annually?"

OOC; This is my other account, I cba changing over. Is that alright with u?

Scurr chuckled. "It depends what would be practical with you my friend. But I'm sure you will appreciate that we should be payed rather well for our risky efforts."

"What you say about 10% of the total amount laundered?"

Paul continued to sip at his drink calmly watching the reactions of the banker, trying to read the slightest hints that his face gave away. Though inside Paul was rather happy they found an outside bank willing to do work. no doubt that would make the operations a little easier. What he didn't tell them was that about 80% of the illegal profits were drug money, but what did it matter, cash is cash.
