Earlier today, President Viktor Roshankov was forced to flee the country into as the NKVD took power from the Roshankov administration. T-72M1 tanks rolled into the streets of Berezina and Soviet soldiers now occupy the streets of all major cities. Led by Vasily Karasov, the military met little resistance into taking the city and in place of the democratically elected Politburo is a communist military regiime. A curfew is now in effect and anyone found on the streets after dark without special permission will be detained until further notice. Roshankov is believed to be in hiding in the neighboring Soviet Republic of Kayeliya with soldiers loyal to the old government and several top-ranking government officials. Novistrana changed its official name to the Novistranian Federation to the Soviet Republic of Novistrana, and statues of Vladimir Lenin and Vasily Karasov are being erected around the country. The press is being censored along with the media, and the national airline is being rerouted to other communist countries. With Vasily Karasov in power, Novistrana can expect nationalization of private companies and a loss of support from the West.

The government from the AAU demands that this coup be ended! This is no time for war and your nation has to deal with this. We are accepting any refugees from your nation to be part of ours.

President Karasov, you are starting the beginning of a new Cold War. I will stand by with the free nations of the world to keep your power from spreading to other independencies around the world. We will not intervene, as you will bring upon your own downfall on yourself than ourselves invading YOUR country.

To all nations of the world: this is a matter in between our nation. We wish that the world not intervene with our struggle against the right-wing Roshankov government. I speak for all workers of Novistrana that this coup was to bring a better Novistrana to the majority of our people, rather than the upper and middle classes who used to hold 72% of the country's wealth and land before the revolution. Socialism hasn't worked the way it was supposed to over history, but we will prove that it does here in the Respublik Sovjet Novistrana. We do not want to cause trouble within the international community, my Western counterparts. Peace.

SRN Government Gains Control of Navy

Greiyev, Novistrana
In this city based off the Russian port of Murmansk, the MVD and Roskankov's Navy were engaged in a brief firefight today at the Greiyev submarine docks over the control of the commercial oil tankers, container ships, Nanuchka III destroyers, and the Typhoon SSBN submarines docked there. As trucks full of MVD troops entered the cargo yard, the lead truck in the convoy was destroyed by a sailor's RPG. The rest of the MVD troops disembarked and unleashed heavy AK-74M fire. After storming all the buildings, loyalist Admiral Misha Voronov was forced to surrender along with 200 of his men. His lieutenant Arkady Golovich had cooperated with MVD to seize the docks and was appointed by President Karasov, hero of Novistrana. Golovich is now an Admiral and is in charge of the fleet at Novistrana's Antarctic base, home to many strategic oil reserves.
