"While many of you at home are wondering how such a day could exist... it does! the nations of Shouldland, a relatively unknown nation that seemed to come out of nowhere has enacted a piece of legislation that will effectively force its citizens to have intercourse with other citizens for exactly 24 hours starting midnight of the monday next week. Although a few citizens have protested the day, these protests while quickly quailed by other citizens in full support of the day. And dispite these protests the parliment has been in full support of this new day after 1 year of intense debate concerning saftey and legality. But to help explain the day as a whole I have parliments chIef Speaker Drakos Delrogue.... Honorable Delrogue, I have to ask what promted this sudden and radical new holiday?" asked the news reporter

" I am glad you asked, Our nation has always been sexually open and in this tradition we are keeping it alive and strong by giving the people an outlet to express these urges in a way to is completely legal. Of course there are rules to this day. You must have a D.O.O card to gives you the eligiblity to take part in this day. This card proves you are without any STD's and thus stagnets the spread of such illnesses. You must also limit you partners age by no more the 5 years younger with a total age limit of 16, people under 16 must have a partner their exact age. Brittanican Adenia condemns completely a day that can only be seen as state-enforced rape. Forcing citizens to engage in intercourse is beyond deplorable, and defies any form of morality that can be dreamt of.

Adenia hereby, as detailed in Regulations of Trade and Industry in Diplomatic Difficulties Act 1980, instructs all Adenian-based companies to cease trade with the nation of Shouldland.

Any Shouldland ship entering Adenian waters will be immediately turned around, and denied entry to any and all ports belonging to Brittanican Adenia.

This is a disgusting act abusing the rights of each citizen to have sexual intercourse within the privacy of their homes and without the monitoring of the government. This new holiday is not state-enforced rape and is quite in fact the very opposite. We would never allow any person to take advantage of someone that has refused to have intercourse. If someone denies you permission then the subject is dropped. Those who take it upon themselves to force someone to have intercourse will be promptely arrested.

Now to clarify what you may think you know... this day was first brought up by the citizens themselves and they brought the parliment over 4 million names of willing participants. Believe it or not, but the parliment at first refused to consider it, but overwhelming civilian pressure has changed our position.

This is, unfortunately, not what your legislation would suggest.

The indication this gives is that the government supports, and intends to enforce, a law requiring its citizens to engage in sexual intercourse for a period of 24 hours.

This, frankly, is unacceptable. If this legislation does find itself enforcing such impropriety, then your own government will be subject to an international arrest warrant and will be tried before a Brittaniate International Court for Crimes Against the Populace.

We trust we will have both your personal, and your national and official, assurance that this legislation will not breach the human rights of any citizen.

Further to this, we find permitting the act of sexual intercourse between children is a danger to the innocence and naivety of underage citizens within your nation. We hereby require your official guarantee that an age limit will be placed on this event of no lower than 14 years of age - that is to say, only persons of 14 years of age or over will be permitted to take part in this event.

With this in mind, Adenia should like to send a team of observers as representatives of Her Majesty. Their remit shall be to ensure that rights are not being infringed and that age laws are enforced as necessary. They will not, under any circumstances, participate in the event, and any attempt to coerce them to do so will be taken most grievously.

" Well, the night is here and national register locations have opened their doors all across the nation, allowing eligible participants to register for the National day of Orgy. But even prior to the locations opening people where lined up as far as the eye can see some lines have reached almost 1 mile long, prompting the government to open more locations. The government has hired over 3000 medical personnel to help oversee the screening process and help ensure all participants are STD clear.

However there has been a few protests over the event, which where countered with even more powerful counter protests which called for the arrests of the first protesters under the charge of treason. While the hopes for arrests where strong the government denied the request and let them be. Despite overwhelming international pressure to cancel the event the government has made adjustments, but overall has refused to give. releasing this statement just before to opening of register locations:

The right of an individual sovereign nation to enact any law it pleases with the consent of the people and in respect for WA laws is a right undisputed.

The nation of Brittanican Adenia seems to have overlooked that fact. It is generally agreed that the right of determining the age of consent is leaft up to an individual nation and thus , the said nation has no right in instructing another soveregn nation on what age limit should be enacted. The Empire of Avarahn has an age of consent at 13 , does that mean that Brittanican Adenia would attack our nation for no other reason , other than a perceived abuse of human rights. The age of consent is variable in different nations in line with the differing cultural and social norms.

My country has made no threats against Shouldland. To date, we have been reasonable, not even threatening, as some have to embargo Shouldland trade if demands we make are not met. We simply wish to observe this even so we may be sure all is as the government of Shouldland claims it to be.

Even so, we shall not be intimidated. If we believe a certain course of action is necessary we shall enact it against all hazards. The rights of sentience are more important than individual peace and tranquility.

Further, the observers I promised are en route as we speak. There are seven in all, five official observers and two secret observers, who shall seek to get involved directly in this event to view it from the inside. These two observers have been issued orders to remain undetected if possible, but will take no hostile actions against Shouldland's people.

The right of an individual sovereign nation to enact any law it pleases with the consent of the people and in respect for WA laws is a right undisputed.

The nation of Brittanican Adenia seems to have overlooked that fact. It is generally agreed that the right of determining the age of consent is leaft up to an individual nation and thus , the said nation has no right in instructing another soveregn nation on what age limit should be enacted. The Empire of Avarahn has an age of consent at 13 , does that mean that Brittanican Adenia would attack our nation for no other reason , other than a perceived abuse of human rights. The age of consent is variable in different nations in line with the differing cultural and social norms.

Surely, someone in so high a position would note the difference between economic sanctions, which have then been placed under consideration in the light of new information arising, and sabre-rattling?

If you were to take your own advice in this matter, maybe you cannot as you might be too distracted to do so, but if you were to do so, by reading our messages , the only hint of implying that your nation might atack any other nation over this matter is that of you attacking us on our age of consent. Note, the words "attack" does not mean military action or war, indeed it only means to take an active or offensive action against or in response to, in accordance with the Imperial Language Dictionary. Indeed, the word can suggest financial, word, moral or physical attack. AS our message was a response to your own message, it is obviuosly possible to deduce that it means financial attacks as your nation has obviously already commited to. Those very clear words and meanings would otherwise only be mistakenly understood in the case of a very politician who very obviously takes offense at the merest hint of it or in the case of a nation itching for a fight.

The age of majority in our nation is 16 and the fact that those aged 13 are already mature and independent enough to comprehend the full implications of having sexual intercourse. Our teenagers are more mature than most in part due to the societal norms and cultural as well as religious norms. Your nation may express disgust at it but it is what our nation believes in. The children and teenagers in your nation might not be ready for it, but ours clearly is. This phrase is not the one by which we refer to in my previous correspondence. We referred to this phrase:

This statement would accuse us of intending to attack any nation that would have an age of consent lower than ours. This is a grievous untruth and one that we take most seriously. Again, whilst we find the idea of allowing minors to engage in sexual activity to be morally bankrupt, we are not a nation of warmongers.

Further to that, we do not class embargoes as an attack against a nation. Attacking a nation may include physical economic sanctions such as blockading or privateering, or physical military sanctions such as outright invasion and assault on territory. Adenia has committed to neither of these; we have not attacked the nation of Shouldland in any way. We have taken actions to discourage the application of legislation that would require citizens to engage in sexual intercourse - i.e. state-enforced rape - however, to claim that this is attacking Shouldland is making the proverbial mountain out of a molehill.

This "threat" is not defined by us - does your own nation not have laws against rape? Therefore, would not the enforcement of rape by legislation make a man a criminal? This is no threat; this is law enforcement in the name of civil rights. Any culture that would glorify rape as being "free" is a condemnation of humankind, and those that perpetuate such a culture deserve to be tried as criminals.

What a nation believes is true is not necessarily the fact of the matter. Countless upon countless studies have proven time and again that at the age of thirteen, the human body and mind have simply not matured sufficiently biologically. Whilst social surroundings can affect this, the age of 13 cannot be justified by any means in scientific terms, and, quite frankly, religion is often a road to severe difficulties in a nation. One simply has to look at the Doomani to see that!
