The South Harland Crisis.

The State of South Harland, an independent state which gained independence from Harland in 1890, is being torn apart by the State Communist Army (SCA), who seek to destroy democracy in both Harlands and bring about communist rule in Harland and the world.

SCA launched an attack on South Harland Army base, Delpha Zero, which is a hub for military affairs and military development in South Harland, and managed to destroy the base with a series of waves and cyberwar.

South Harland President, James O'Day, has called upon Harland to 'stop these terrorists' before 'it becomes a crisis in Harland'. The small state of 1 million has a small army of 50 thousand, with half of that in South Harland Army. The military is funded extensively by Harland, with most equipment being Harland Defence Industries. South Harland is economically dependent on Harland, which has become accepted and agreed upon by most South Harlanders in the 1920s.

SCA recently attacked The South Harland Trade Centre by tampering with the building, resulting in it collasping, thanks to dynamite being attached to the inside of the building, killing 20,000 South Harlanders and injuring almost triple more.

Harland has responded by starting 'Operation: Freedom O'Day', with currently 1 third of the Harland Armed Forces set to be deployed into South Harland so as to 'crush SCA immediately', quoting Defence Secretary Alexander James, a hardened vetern in the Army.

Secretary of State, Amy Williams, the 29-year-old young, charismatic yet trusted Secretary of State, has called upon all foreign nations to assist South Harland in this crisis.

"I am calling upon all nations to assist South Harland in combating this clear and present danger which is the State Communist Army," said Williams. "We must elimanate any danger to South Harland and maintain the nation's peace."

However, rumours are circalating that several communist nations have begun assisting SCA by supplying arms and supplies, a rumour which worries South Harland greatly.

"If this is true," said President of South Harland, James O'Day. "Then it is quite possible this crisis may not end in this present era."

The Harland Airforce (HAF) recently finished a bombing raid on Delgo Five Hundred, a South Harland Airforce (SHAF) base which had been taken over by SCA. Most SHAF equipment was either destroyed or gone, and 500 SCA soldiers are thought to be dead after the bombings which have dubbed 'Five Hundred Base Bombing'.

This crisis is a clear and present danger to South Harland, Harland and world democracy.

Dear Chazakain Government,

South Harland gratefully accepts this offer of 5 counterterrorist units being dispatched to assist us in combating these flithly terrorists, State Communist Army. We would direct them to Starboard, a small, and our only, ICBM silo, only to be used whenever we are being invaded and making our last stand. We have reports that SCA have taken Starboard over and are threatening to use the 5 ICBMs there. Also there will be twenty Harland Special Forces soldiers, who will assist you in this.

Men, today we are asked by our government and the government of South Harland to put down a very real and large threat against the nucleur weapons of SH, we have reports that the SCA has taken over 5 ICMBs and is threatening to use them, our task is to take out this rebels and restore order to the base.

The squads took up positions around their helicopters waiting any response from the rebels.

This is utterly disgraceful behavior and we are willing to pledge 3rd Special Brigade to help. It is composed of a battalion of Mechanized Infantry, a battalion of Paratroopers, and a battery of Artillery. Attached is a squadron of Chinook helicopters and Apache Gunships. 3rd Brigade is commanded by Lieutenant-General John Williams, a truly exceptional commander. We would be able to deploy immediately by ship or air transport, whatever is easiest.

The SCA guerrilas were looking up at the infidel. They soon decided to fire a few RPGs at them, and they watched as their comrades aimed at them, then fird. The bulbous pipe leaped forward as the rocket took off, headed for the one aircraft.

Soon, ten Harlander Airforce stealth bombers arrived at the scene, and quickly deployed their bombs onto the communismt supporters, and watched as they died quickly.

As Colonel Gopher directed his men deeper into the base, he had a sinking feeling that things were being to easy so far, they had only seen, fought and killed only 12 rebels so far.

"Hurry up men, we must get to the control room. Now!"

As they turned the corner into the control room...

The infidels ran into the large, valuted room. SCAI (State Communism Army Intelligence) had founded about the foreign devils' nation. An Empire.

Most of the rebels in the room were young, thus they were shocked whenever they saw the democrats attack the silo. As they blasted the room with their assault rifles, one of the older soldiers, a 33-year-old Daniel Brown, ran back towards the controls. He quickly set the coords, the capital city of this 'empire', and nearly launched them, before the infidela shot him in the back.

OOC: From that first post not bad, but I haven't seen enough stuff. I guess we will see over the next thread won't we?

Lieutenant-General John Williams shouted to some of his men over the engines rumble on the way down to land. "Today we will be helping the people of South Harlander fight off the guerillas calling themselves the SCA. When we land I want every grunt securing the perimeter and unloading the equipment. Then get them a meal and some sleep. Tommorrow A Company from 4 Para is inserting 30 clicks South East and then tabbing back. I want the artillery ready to give them support and all the Apaches on stand by. It is all about first impressions gentlemen." With a hideous thump the plane hit the transport. As soon as the door started to go down the loadie shouted "Go, Go, Go move it!" The Company of men sprinted out the back dropping to their bellies about 10 meters away from the plane and scanned the area. Although this was a 'safe' zone it was always good to be cautious. Williams looked around and saw that three other transports had dropped off their men. Another 14 were waiting to come in, and then they needed to go back and get the rest of the men and gear. Over the horizon the Apaches and helicopters flew in low and fast the Apaches surrounding the Chinooks like dogs around a flock of sheep. Williams breathed out a sigh of realize and looked at the run down buildings and falling apart defensive positions they had been given. "Welcome home boys!" He shouted to a chorus of moan and swearing. It was going to be a long night.

Five Minutes Earlier.

One SCA guerrila remained alive, heading behind a metal barrel. He had thrown several grenades at the infidela, but he did not know of the result. He was being fired upon and he knew this was his last minutes.

Jusat then, he noticed Comrade Daniel lying slumped across the CC massive metal 'desk'. He then realised what he done..-

-He welled up the courage to do the mad. He ran from his barrel towards the desk, kicked Daniel's body out of the way and finilized the launch. A large rumbling was felt, and he felt a bullet hit his back. His back when numb as he colllasped onto the floor, laughing at the infidels, virtually shitting themselves.

A large pipe was rumbling in the CC. It was powering the ICBM. Not blowing it up would result in the nuke heading for the Empire. Blowing it up would result in it blowing it up here.

A large HU-77 Stormer started approaching the Battlehawkian Ranger aircraft, lingered bneside them.

"Battlehawk, this is Apace Turret," explained Lt.Chambers of the HSF. "We would advise you to leave the area, as it is thought an ICBM has been launched..I repeat, it is thought an ICBM has been cleared for launch. Most forces in the area have been evaced."

"We are willing to attempt to stop this act" The Ranger Captain said

"We have intel that is possible a launch from SH ICBM silos can be stopped, but at a cost, mainly involving the thing being deemed worthless afterwards. However, we were planning to go down to attempt to help the other forces in the area."

"Actually, to hell with instructions. We're going down there now!"

"Ok rangers, here we are, there IS an ICBM launching below us, we get down there and we shut it off" Captain Green Called as he went to teh rope "RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!" HE shouted as he jumped

The HSF helicopter dropped in, and it took them about 3 minutes to run into the base, along the Rangers. They kicked open the CC door and looked at the pipe.

"Holy..." gasped Lt. Chambers. "You..did that?"

2nd Lieutenant Paul Hodges was scared. No, terrified. He was leading half a company of Paratroopers deep into enemy territory. He would be commanding 30 men. 30 men, brothers, sons and fathers expecting him to make the right choices and get them all out alive. 30 men. He was lying on his bed waiting for 0300. He would then assemble his men and board up. He glanced down at his watch for about the 30th time. It was time. He got up slowly dressing. As he strapped down his kevlar he couldn't help but wonder who would die. There was a 90% chance there would be a fatality. Not good odds. He thought maybe he would die. He checked his grenades were strapped down and tied down his loose kit with para cord. He stood up and went outside, most of the men were there already, smoking and drinking tea. A young corporal named Vicks passed him a mug of tea. He smiled and said "Alright men, Major Thomas will give you the pep talk, I'm gonna tell you the objectives. Fly out to the LZ, we will then tab back Northeast taking out rebel installations. This mission is hot, we may lose men today. Just pray it is not someone you knew well. Alright board up and roll out!" He broke and noticed the other two platoons one lead by Lieutenant Barries and the other Captain Mackie. The mission was lead by Major Thomas. They all legged it towards the Chinooks which were warming up soon they were taking off and the Apaches surrounded them again. Protecting them.

Zanski recognises the SCA as the legitimate government of south harland and is giving a three day warning or we will use full wrath to secure south harland for the SCA.

So we're left with how to stop that countdown, my techie Vector tells me that the only way is to blow up that pipe, and that it has a 85% chance to also blow up that missile and start a chain reaction with the other missiles stored here, and since we don't want to make a giant radioactive crater in this nation, we're at an impasse. And before you ask, the controls for that missile have been damaged beyond repair"

Dear President Jonathon O'Day,

It has come to myself's, and the International League of World Powers, attention that your nation is under siege by a revolting group of a terrorist faction in the southern part of your nation. My attention was grabbed just by the fact that possibly a foriegn nation is supplying this terrorist faction but it was futhered by the possibility of nuclear weapons of mass destruction are involved. On behalf of the ILWP and the Imperial Republic of Greston I wish to deploy a small detachment of 10,000 peacekeeping soldiers in the area. They will be travelling under the ILWP's flag, an attack upon this deployment is infringement of the International League of World Powers thus an attack upon the ILWP.

Although these men are being deployed as a peacekeeping force they will armed and may be involved in battles that have signifigant importance. Furthermore, Colonel William Hindesberg shall monitor the war and report back to the Imperial Republic's government. Any intrusion on the national soveriegnty of Harland or the disregard to international law and committing war crimes will force the ILWP to choose a side.

We currently have are suppourting the Harlander Republic with economic resources rather than military resources which fuel the violence. Hopefully this crisis may come to and end soon.

The Evaluation of Chaziton was going on at a agonizing slow rate, only 20% of the general population had been evaluated, Nyx Darkrider continued to paste his office, awaiting word from his operatives, dreading what they may report. He again glanced at his computer's screen.
He brief thought of this family, and was thankful that they were currently vacationing on Chazaka's coast.

The hindsight of this message sent to the Harlander Republic is utterly disgusting and shows the true colours of the Zansk government. With every Zansk president having the such a childish demeanor as yours, to attack everything in sight, will only force the ILWP's hand to strike you back down. If your nation makes such a breach upon the sovereignty of Harland every Grestonian asset in the area will be ordered to recognize your presence and strike it down.

Mark this message as an ultimatum; from the time this telegram arrives you will have thirty-four (34) hours to retract you statements and pull out of this conflict. Thank you for your time.

Green smiled to himself as he opened a access panel and reached inside and took out the nueclear core of the warhead. He passed it to one of the rangerss and was just being dropped back down when the ranger dropped the warhead. Everyone froze as the warhead fell down and it was just caught by green before it hit the ground.

Major Thomas replied "Roger that will pick up the 20 civilians on the way back to base. Over." He got on the horn to the other chopper in which 2nd Lieutenant Paul Hodges was with half his platoon. "Uhh, Hodges, your going to land at LZ Mike and rescue 20 civilians from a possible Nuclear threat. Over"

Hodges paled and replied "Copy that on way to LZ Mike." The two choppers under his command broke away from the string of Chinooks and headed towards the LZ.

Zanski has sent twenty tanks, two artillery and seven hundred AK's to Communist-held lands other than this we will not be involved.

Rebel group took over nuke base, threatens people, my forces and two others attack, kill rebels, last rebels starts countdown to doomsday on my sorry capital, green eventually disarms it, and someone is arming the rebels, quite abit of detail is on the first post.

2nd Lieutenant Hodges sat bolt up right when over the radio came the gargled message. His men had been called up and told to abort the mission. He got on the radio and said "Come in, Come in, 2nd Lieutenant Hodges here coming in with a platoon of Whiskeasian Paratroopers in two chinooks with a two Apache escort. Flying in to the base to provide reinforcements. And fire support, we also have a battery of artillery on stand by. Over"

"Squad 1, you are to meet up with Green and his men and check out that activity. If you spot anything you are to report back"

"2nd Lt Hodges, this is Cpt Green of the Battlehawk Rangers, be advised we are about to search nearby woods"

"Recieved. Please assault base, codename Tomcat. Assault Commence. Over."

Hodges received the radio as his chopper came into land he said "Roger that will advance and meet you in the forest. We are on opposite side of forest no sign of hostile activ...." A barrage of fire came out from the woods just as his men had hit the dirt outside the choppers. "Wow, the sh*t has hit the fan, receiving small arms fire and woah! Someone just fired an RPG. Advance into the forest we need reinforcements. Looks like there may be a good 60 to 70 just firing at us taking cover in a ditch outside the woods. Out." The choppers took off behind him, the door cannon firing over the heads of the paratroopers as they retreated. Hodges shouted "Everybody into the ditch, move, move, move!" As the paras belly crawled into the ditch they started returning some fire. They had a casualty, a paratrooper had been shot in the thigh and had made it to the ditch Ok. They hunkered down and waited for support.

Suddenly, a large rumbling, like that of helicopter, was heard. Soon, a large group of HSF paratroopers dropped into th area, flanking the rebels, and assaulting from all directions.

The Whiskeasian Paratroopers stood up as the Harlanders swept forward. They started putting rounds into the trees and slowly started to advance into the woodlands. The medics went over to the wounded terrorists and started to give first aid sorting out the dead and the wounded. A section of men were left behind to guard as the rest of the troops advanced heading towards the nuclear facility.

"Let the bastards die," ordered Major William Turner. "They deserve it."

The Harlanders stopped treating the SCA. Some died slowly, some quickly.

But they still died.

"While that may be the case sir"
"But we still have sworn an oath to treat anyone as much as we can."
The Chazakain medics continue to treat the fallen rebels, and others as much as they could, some still died but many more survived. Squad 1 continued to go further into the woods.

The Nuclear Threat to Chaziton has been taken care of.
We have confirmation that we killed 25 rebels, we have also captured an additional 38, most are heavily wounded, they are currently being transported to the hospital ship Veala, where they will be treated for their wounds, then tried for treason under our laws. They will be detained in the prison ship Gynome until it reaches a Chazakain Port, they then will be transported to various maximum security pow camps throughout chazaka and through this conflict.
Our loses were minimal, Private Jeal of Squad 4 has been gravely injured and is not expected to make it, and Colonel Gopher surfed a slight bullet wound.
Squads 1-3 will return to our rented base, while squads 4 and 5 help repair any damage to the nuke base.
