Fictions

OOC: just a note, because this factbook was made by A.M.A.P.P.M.I. it is probably censored to skid over the nastier aspects of Fictions, such as their
human rights record:
"Well Fictions have a pretty dirty record, sir. Genocide, slavery you name it it's happened."
~Taken from the The State of the World: An International Meeting (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=569641) Thread
What they also failed to mention in the factbook is this:
- Political activists are executed. No arguments (political activism counts as anything from protesting to saying "this government is wrong")
- Torture is considered an acceptable interrogation technique and is use often
- People serving time in prison are put into forced labour to "Repay society" (their excuse being, "It's not slavery if their not being sold and are working within Fictions, their still Inmates; they live in prisons and it's better if their doing something useful rather than just sitting around, it also serves a valuable lesson")
- People in prisons are forced to donate blood - Providing they have no illness that will be passed on.
- "Forced Disappearances" happen often
- The people cannot choose what religion they want, they are either NewChristian or Nothing. Anyone breaking this is arrested and executed.
- There is a 9 O'clock curfew for anyone under the age of 18, if caught breaking said curfew, you will be arrested.
- There is no concept of "Fair Trial" if you are suspected of a crime, you are taken in for questioning; which involves being tortured until you admit to whatever the charge against you is.
And the fact that every citizen is being watched almost 24/7:
-Surveillance cameras in all streets and public areas
-Tracking devices in all vehicles
-Regular phone taps
-Internet searches monitored by a "RedWord" system (basically if someone searches a word/sentence that is deemed inappropriate or "red" their IP address is logged on a main database, if they are repeat offenders, action is taken)
- RedWord also works in monitoring all electronic messages being sent in and out of Fictions, These are being watched 24/7 by A.M.A.P.P.M.I.
The RedWord System:
The RedWord system is an elaborate security measure that operates in Fictions. It is a program on every web-browser in Fictions which uses blacklisted or "red" words or phrases to block certain websites. There are over a million words and phrases that have been blacklisted on the internet, the downside of this is that sometimes inoffensive websites are blocked because of false hits. Hacking the RedWord system is almost impossible and deliberately trying to accesses websites considered Red is illegal.

A Typical message that you get after trying to access a "Red" website three times.
The RedWord system is also used in monitoring all electronic messages sent around Fictions and also those entering and leaving Fictions. If a message is found to contain words or phrases considered Red, and it is not a false hit, action is taken in the form of an arrest. NOTE: This does not count if the message originated outside Fictions, if that is the case, the message is deleted and it never reaches it's intended target. The RedWord system in this context has far more words that are Red, including every possible random letter combination (not including real words) 3-10 letters long (anything over that is automatically Red, and any message with over 5 numbers in a row is automatically Red) also anything ciphered/encrypted is Red and is sent to code-breaking.
The A.M.A.P.P.M.I. building was a large one, 14 stories to be precise, not counting the roof. It was on the 7th floor, in a large, darkened room filled with impressive looking computers that all electronic mail entering and leaving the country passed through. Laura Marling sat at her desk bored, watching the endless data flickering on her screen, occasionally she'd take a sip of coffee and glance around at the others. Nothing interesting had happened on her screen, there had been one RedWord alert an hour ago, but that had turned out to be a false hit. She leaned back on her chair thankful that there was only another fifteen minutes until her break. It was while she was staring at the ceiling, daydreaming about being on a beach somewhere when the shrill sound of a RedWord alert sounded in her earpiece, Snapping out of her trance she stared at the screen, highlighted in red was the name of one incoming message, probably another false hit she thought. she clicked on it and the full message appeared on her screen.
~From my intro of the Terrorist Meet Terrorist Thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=570954), in this case it is government information and out of A.M.A.P.P.M.I's League, if however if it had turned out to be a message from a Fictions Citizen and not a false hit (actually containing inappropriate information) an arrest on the sender would have been authorized.

I notice you don't have a demonym actually stated. Am I to assume that the citizens and products of Fictions are Fictionals?
