Official Message From the New Ascelonian Empire

The Ascelonian Revolutionary Government has now come onto a conclusion on how to run Ascelonia.

I. Emperor- The Emperor will be elected by the Council of Nine for life, or to the point of senility. The Emperor is given full and absolute control of the nation, withholding the abilities to remove politicians from their respective offices. He must be an intelligent and mentally healthy man. If he fails in either of those aspects or in managing the country properly, the Council of Nine may be able to impeach the Emperor. The Emperor may appoint his own cabinet to aid in management of the government. Emperor controls the Imperial Military, heads diplomacy and negotiations, is Head of state, and controls all colonies.

II. Triad- Three Consuls will be elected by three sets of people. The population will be divided into three even parts based on education, income, and criminal records. The three separate populations would represent the upper, middle, and lower classes. The three consuls have vetoing power and must have consensus to reach decisions and override the decisions of the Emperor. The Triad may appoint their own cabinets to aid in management of the government. Triad controls domestic issues in the motherland, homeland security, rural defenses and militia in rural regions, and the Guardian Angels task forces.

III. Council of Nine- These representatives will be elected by nine superstates of Ascelonia. They will make decisions based on a six to three majority. Council of Nine defends cities and industrial centers and controls militia within that area. They have the responsibility of making decisions on laws and major court cases tha reach them.

IV. Conclave- The Conclave is the body of elected leaders that make decisions on treaties and laws, as well as overriding the Emperor. They represent every corner of the country. They have jurisdiction over issues of their own individual provinces that they represent as well as control of their individual civil defenses. They have the ability to override authorities above them using a 4/5 majority.

The Black Fist has been deemed responsible for the nuclear attacks on disputed territories as well as planting a nuclear weapon in the heart of Old Ascelonia City. The relocation of the city has been confirmed after the destruction of Old Ascelonia City via the detonation of such a bomb.

Black Fist terrorists will be captured and held responsible for the attack. The last nuclear weapon has been confirmed to have left the country.

Imperial Policies and Reforms

Education will now be rebuilt around the Sudbury model and free thought schools will now be established around the country.

The military will see a significant downsizing and most military services will be handled by professionals and mercenaries.

Police forces will be seen less as regulating the law, but incorporated into a hunter task force to search and destroy more serious threats to the safety of civilians.

The Empire will now work to rebuild foreign relations.

Ascelonia City Leveled

It has been confirmed that the Black Fist has detonated a second nuclear weapon and this time it is in a city. The blast has leveled the ruins of Ascelonia City as well as killing thousands of Ascelonian Security Forces, foreign nationals, foreign military units, Ascelonian civilians, and foreign aid workers. Construction for a New Ascelonia City has been moved elsewhere. Authorities are unwilling to confirm where exactly for fear of another terrorist attack.

Insiders have revealed a likely location of the new metropolis. It will likely be relocated to the province of Perdica, thousands of miles south of Ascelonia City. It located beneath a subtle moutain range and bordering a lovely sandy beach and thousands of tiny islands. Three large islands exist nearby to be extensions of the city. The heart of it will be placed an artificial island within an artificial lake further upstream. The city will be ten times larger to include refugees created from the recent rise in Black Fist activity and Hurricane Barthlomew. Thousands of canals have been dug and many miles have road have been constructed here recently. It's convenient location north of the Verii Isle, which holds the Sapphire City.


Ascelonian Military Update

We are interrupting this news broadcast to inform the international community of a massive Black Fist attack on the construction sites of a new city. The Black Fist organization is a subsidary wing of a larger, yet dormant, terrorist organization's activity within our borders. A World Without Border Lines, which contains a mix of a New World Order freaks and Anarchists, have led the Black Fist into delivering a nuclear warhead into their hands capable of creating ten Hiroshimas.

This news is extremely disturbing, especially, when the terrorists have launched a massive assault against us. They are use large amounts of stolen and outdated weapons of war as well as unseen numbers of insurgents to capture the islands and the construction sites. We are trying to funnel in as many reinforcements using our newly established rail lines. We do not know how much longer we can hold out. We are crying to the international community to aid us in our efforts.
