Space 1300 hours
3 lightyears from Charzakian border

A flash of light and the probe entered the system.
The crew aboard the Dominion super dreadnaught breathed easily.
"Admiral we have a confirmed launch. The probe is in place."
"Excellent. Begin your search immediently."
The probe began a long search patrolling the system for any new planets.
"Sir we have a sighting. Strange energy readings are coming fro the planet. There appears to be some sort of marking but we are too far away to see what it is."
"Get closer"
The probe moved into the atmosphere of the planet and sent out the signal no one thought they would ever recieve.
"Sir the probe has found the ksderati. Signal code Red we have found the place of legend."
"Contact the Emporer right away."
"He already knows sir. All our probes are wired to transmit to the Royal Palace and the probes ship."
The Admiral couldn't believe this. All these years he though the prophecy was a myth. Not anymore.

Space 2200 hours
Near Newly discovered planet

The 1st Prophecy Fleet emerged from hyperspace near the planet. The fleet began sending down scientists and equipment for the permanent settlement they were building. The Golden Age had begun.

The planet that the Charzakians are settling is actually within your territorial claims.
One of my merchant ships, utilizing the newly forged trade agreement clause in the Watchman Treaty, is traversing the area on route to one of your core worlds when they spot it.
They wire it in to Greywatch and TSA and then we go from there....

Sound good to you, since we really have no other proposals down yet?...)

ooc: um i actually planned that the planet was actually a spacecraft and that some Greywatch and Charzakian scientists were on the planet and discovered this. Then a unknown species that lived on the planet (or some similar planet nearby) fond us and began driving us back. but in the end our superior technology would triumph and we would totally kick butt.

The scientists landed on the planet and after sampling the air stepped onto the surface. They quickly began setting up the colony and began mapping the planet with help from the military forces assigned to protect them.

A Greywatch science vessel and its excort were slow to drop out of PSR and slower to make their way to the surface. The council loved the pursuit of knowledge, but past reports said this particular race was... a bit iffy at best. There was no real bond between Greywatch and Charzak as of yet, just a few random encounters and a diplomat attending a wedding. It was decided that a few allies be kept on speed-dial just in case something went wrong.
As the science vessel approahed the planet, it prepared eveyrthing on board for easy access. The vessel itself was made to serve as a habitat, saved a lot of time and effort that woul dbe used up in unpacking and setting things up. The warship escort was a typical Rabble-Rouser, a large vessel more than capable of handling itself in a firefight. But this was a science misison, so hopefully no fighting would occur.
Once the ship landed, it began to set up shop in its own special way. It began to root itself, communications and blink networks were set up, sections of the ship opened up so that people and vehicles could come and go. The entire process took about half and hour but at the end, the ship had become a fully functioning building. A shield generator on board began providing protection from anything that might be hostile. Scouts were the first to emerge, most of them riding on small buggies, to make sure the immediate area was safe. Meanwhile, transports from the R-R in orbit began to drop off troops and vehicles that might be needed.

Extreme System Edge---------------------------------

Third Heir Ascendant Annabell Castro sat in her command chair on the bridge. As per her orders from the Chancellor and the Council, she had moved her Keyship, the Shadow of Hope, to the system's edge, along with two Atlas-class Destroyers. They were there to serve as backup for the Greywatch science expedition, watching their backs if things got hairy.

The Shadow and her escorts had even received a special refit just two days earlier for the mission. It was probably the opportunity for what would normally be a very expensive upgrade that ultimately made the case for her going. The starship's usually silver and blue hulls had been coated with a reflective, black laminar stealth compound. The substance rendered them ship nearly undetectable to all but the most extensive of sensor sweeps, and baffled any radiation signatures emmitted by the ship's Chernokov Generator. For all intents, they were invisible. As far as Annabelle was concerned, the Shadow had simply earned her name.

Annabelle stared at the viewscreen in front of her and sighed. As horrible as it sounded, she kind of hoped that a combat situation would break out somehow so that she could test out the Shadow's new skin. So she stayed on station at the edge of the system and sent a tightbeam transmission to the Greywatch Rabble-Rouser.

"This is Annabelle Castro, Third Heir Ascendant of the Commonwealth of the Second Alliance. We have arrived in system and are standing by to respond to any problems you may encounter. Feel free to ring us for anything..."

<Aye aye. Looks like you guys are testing out some new stealth tech, eh? Well, if something goes wrong, we'll give you a ring. Let's just hope it doesn't need to come to that.>
Was the Response from the Rabble-Rouser.

Ground Control Planetside:

This is groundcontrol. Do you think we are stupid? Come on we're scientists its not like we didn't expect someone to come with stealth abilities. Well it doesnt matter now.

Planet's Orbit
The Dominion engaged its thrusters and circled the planet to where the stealth ships were located. The weapons on the ship were powered down to show that it was only changing its orbit in order to launch equipment down to the planet. However the rest of the 50 ship fleet remained on the other side of the planet. The Dominion then launched the equipment down to the planet's surface.

Scientific Colony Surface
The equipment landed and the scientists quickly took out the contents. Inside were scanners, blasters, laser swords, and single-man rovers. Three of the scientists then went off with the rovers and equipment to investigate an unusual reading that they had found inside a cave on the planet.
Greywatch
25-10-2008, 22:38
The first vehicles down were simple; most were small, one-person hover tanks, a few others were attack bikes. There were only about twenty soldiers, most of the riflemen, a decent force. If this was a Greywatch colony there would've been a full Worldstarter here, but seeing as this was someone else's claim, Greywatch didn't bother to go that far. The recon buggies hadn't reported anything so the scientists proceeded to begin analyzing plants and animals, taking what samples they could. Soldiers looked around to get a feel for the enviroment, didn't seem dangerous but you never knew...

Planet's Orbit
Three modified cruisers moved into position beside the Dominion. They were modified to carry extra vehicles, personel, and equipment. All onboard were destined for the planet's surface. The cruisers would then engage their hyperdrives with aid from the droids onboard and travel to Charzak. The 100 soldiers, 40 scientists, and 5 Imperial Tanks were launched and arrived at the colony in excellent condition.

Cave Planet's Surface
The three scientists had arrived at the cave where they had detected strange energy readings. The scientists enytered the cave and traveled for some time deep into the planet. Just when it seemed that everything was normal one of the scientists discovered a small tunnel that the energy readings were coming from. They followed and discovered a massive structure full of hi-tech equipment. A screen on one of the walls flickered on. Displayed on the screen was a full schematic of the planet. The scientists then realized that it wasn't just a planet. It was a spacecraft! The lead scientist sent this message over his comm "Control give these coordinates to the Greywatch scientists and tell them to come immedently. All our knowledge about the galaxy is about to change."

Colony
The controller forwarded the message to the Greywatch colony.
We have discoverd the source of a strange energy reading. You are going to want to see this. Coordinates are 2940-6743. Bring everyone.
The troops and tanks proceeded to the cave along with all the scientists.

"We've got a message, apparently something really interesting has just decided to show up." Said a base Controller, looking to his commander. The commander didn't bother looking up from the holonovel he was reading, "Dispatch teams one and three. Make sure they've got at least a few Drones with them." The Controller nodded, "Putting out the message to our teams right now. Jeez, looks like they literally have everything headed towards this one area, I'm picking up vehicles and people." The commander had nothing to say to this, it was their operation, they could do whatever they liked.

Two transports, followed by a single tank and led by two recon buggies, were on their way at that point. The land transports were made to carry about twenty people each, a mix of scientists and Drones (mostly Drones). Upon arrival at the location, the Drones were the first to emerge, their dark features and black clothing made them easily recognizable. The scientists were also dressed in white bioarmor which masked their features and gave them protection against the unknown elements. All anyone else would see was a mass of black and white, literally.

Inside Cave
The scientists started to examine the equipment in the room. It appeared to have been built by a long extinct ancient race. The scientists waited for the Greywatch scientists before they began working on the control board for the planet.

The Drone leading the scientists entered the cave first, it was dressed in all black clothing. A pair of pants, boots, fingerless gloves, sleeveless shirt, and shades. Its skin was pale like any other Drone's skin would be. Its eyes were jet black, as were its hair, nails, teeth, and lips. The other Drones all looked the same, dressed in black robes and possessing the same features. The lead Drone proceeded into the cave, followed by a the Greywatch scientists that had been deployed, until it came across the Charzakians. The scientist leading the others looked around the cave, "Is this what you called us for?"
Charzak
27-10-2008, 22:28
One of the scientists came forward.
"Yes sir. But I think what we have just found might interest you more."
The scientists then began to lead the Drones and scientists towards a control board near the screen with the schematics.
"As you can see this is not just a planet but also a spacecraft."
He pointed towards the screen.
"Now after this room was activated a major energy spike came from the center of the craft. We belive that we have discovered the bridge of the ship and that the energy spike came from the reactor powering up. This now we began to fiddle with these controls over here."
The scientist alked over to a smaller yet more complex control board.
"As soon as we began studying it the planet's surface has shifted and contorted. We belive that the weapon systems of the ship are emerging from their containment units. We would like your help in studying this room and unlocking this ships secretsl."

Atmosphere of Ship/Planet

The Dominion moved back toward its fleet. Suddenly the ship's sensors began picking up hostile signatures entering the area.
The Admiral said to the weapons officer
"Get our weapons online now! Start charging the super-laser and begin fighter launch!"
He pointed to the comm officer.
"You alert the rest of the fleet and those stealth ships on the other side of the planet. Get the colony on the line now!"
"Sir I am afraid that is impossible. All the scientists left to go explore that cave."
"Then alert the Greywatch colony!"
The fleet moved into a defensive position. The hostile craft exited hyperspace.
A force of 10 large ships each almost as big as one of the Charzakian battlestations. The enemy fleet hailed out a comm message.
We are the Zinzarsi. You have invaded our borders. Surrender and be anialayted.
Admiral Thi Gor sent this message back.
Don't you mean surrender or be anialated?
Their answer.
No

Cave:

The Drone didn't take any noticeable interest in what had been found, their faces remained unreadable as they looked over everything. The scientist began looking over a few consoles, "A planet and a ship? Quite a feat, I must say. Someone must have wanted to hide this, or live on it. I would suggest not touching anything else until we can actually analyze what is what. Messing with old equipment left by alien races is never a good thing to do until you understand the entire situation." He beckoned to some other scientist and Drones, "Look around, see if you can find out what consoles control what. The last thing I need is to strip away the atmosphere or hit a self-destruct switch."

Base:

The Controller looked to his console, "New contacts and a message from the Charzakians. Looks like company, possibly hostile." The commander sighed, "Have we gotten a message from the new contacts?"
"The basic surrender or be destroyed."
"I see. Get the Rabble Rouser ready."
"They're already preping for battle."
"Good, recall all teams."
"The scientists in the caves?"
"Contact them but otherwise leave them be, for now. Hopefully this can be worked out without having to fire any shots."
"Order out, all other teams are on their way back now."
"Good, keep me post and prepare the base for uproot. If we need to, we're getting off this planet."
"Yessir."

Orbit:

The captain of the Rabble Rouser had hoped nothing requiring actual fighting would come along, but apparently there was no such thing as peace. A message was sent back to Greywatch and ships were being readied in the ever so likely event this contact resulted in a firefight. There was apparently no shortage of races willing to go about threatening others without trying to solve things diplomatically, Greywatch was used to that by now, though. The Rabble Rouse prepared for combat, it was going to have to defend the science station until reinforcements got here.

Cave:

One of the Drones walked over to one of the scientists. The Scientist stopped what he was doing, "We may have a problem. I've just been notified that a possibly hostile, unknown, alien force has appeared in orbit. No shots fired yet, but it looks like we're working with a time limit now. I suggest everyone be prepared for the worse."
Charzak
27-10-2008, 23:13
"Oh my!" The lead scientist said."What will become of us? We're all going to die!" The military commander of the colony stepped forward and swatted the scientist with the underside of his tail making sure not to impale the man.
"Keep it together man." The commander turned to the Drone. "What forces do you have planetside?"
Greywatch
27-10-2008, 23:25
The Drone looked to the commander without so much as a change of expression, "Nothing that will keep back a full invasion. We brought protocol defenses: some soldiers, a few recon-based vehicles, and a little armor support. If this other force decides to attack, there's not much that we can do to hold them for very long. I imagine we have reinforcements on the way, all we really need to do is hold out until they arrive."
Charzak
27-10-2008, 23:39
"Ok so if you have anything important at your colony I suggest you bring it here. We have the best chance of defending each other in the cave. My tanks will protect the entrance with my troops a few yards inside the cave."

Orbit
The Zinzarsi began launching landing craft.
"Landing craft! All ships open fire open fire!"
The Dominion and its fleet opened fire on the landing craft. However due to the large nature of the super dreadnaughts and dreadnaughts only the cruiser and corvettes fire was effective against the landers. Many made it through.
Greywatch

Caves:

"The entire colony will uproot and move this way once everything has been packed up. The alien forces have deployed land craft." The Drone looked to the other Drones, a single spark of electricity went up its body, "We have no choice." Its voice had changed, becoming very serious now. "The alien force is now engaging in combat. Land craft are to be considered hostile. Alien forces are to be considered hostile," red circles formed in all the Drones' eyes, "Limit unlock, Genocide Protocol rank 2, engaged. All Drones, take up tactical positions and prepare Cryptic abilities for combat. Take no enemies alive, eradication methods are to be used." All the Drones moved with purpose now, they had dropped anything that could have been seen as 'human' and had gone straight to becoming the killing machines they were made to be. They were quick, drawing weapons and taking up postions in and around the cavern. The lead Drone, the one that wore different clothing, looked to the commander, "We are ready."

Orbit:

The Rabble-Rouser had weapons capable of taking landers. It began prioritizing and firing nothing more had to be done. If someone could have stalled that might have been useful... but alas that time was long gone. Instead a message was put through to those in the Second Alliance ship. Looked like stealth might be useful in this situation.

"As are we."
The commander turned toward his soldiers.
"Commandoes! The hostiles have attacked. We are in the midst of a new battle. One that will shape our culture anew. Today we fight for our culture. Today the prophecy is fulfilled!"
The commandoes let out a great cheer. "The son of General Raktak will lead us to victory!"
Commander Raktak turned toe the Drone. "So it begins my friend."

Orbit
The Zinzarsi capital ships began firing upon the Charzakian Fleet. The fleet turned to engage in the battle. The Dominion's super laser was ready.
"Fire on the lead ship."
The laser fired. A blast that under normal circumstances would have ripped a smaller ship to shreds only ripped off about 1/4 of the ship. But it still kept coming.\
"Launch fighters now!"

Cave:
The Drone didn't need to say anything else, all the other Drones were ready, their hive-minds communicating any and all necissary information. The lead Drone wielded no weapon, unlilke the others.

Research post:
With the situation update, the ship began to uproot. It was time to move to a safer location.

Orbit:
"Fantastic... prioritize the landers. ready any fighters we have." Said the captain, obviously annoyed. The ship continued to fire on the landers, taking a large portion of them down with concentrated fire. The protection of those on the surface was a priority.

Orbit
The Charzakian forces in orbit were taking a beating. 10 vessels had already been lost and the Dominion was taking heavy damage.
"Admiral shields are at 40%."
"Get them up now! Fire the super laser agai."
The laser on the Dominion fired again and this time the lead hostile ship shattered. Throughout the ship cheers of the crew cried out.

Cave
Commander Raktak led his forces outside the cave. The commandoes drew their blaster rifles. Their laser swords hung at their belts ready for use. The Imperial Tanks in front of them primed their cannons. The commander waited for the Drones to take up positions.

Charzakian Colony
The colony lay in ruins. The Zinzarsi forces had compleltey destroyed it. 5 landers had made it through the orbital defenses. However each one contained 100 troops. 500 troops now marched on the small forces at the cave.

Shadow of Hope, System Edge-------------------------------

Annabelle viewed the final diagnostic scans of the ship. All systems green. She double-checked the incoming data on her second, third and fourth aspects, and satisfied with their legitimacy, she addressed the bridge crew.

"Alright, folks, the shit has hit the fan and we need to move in with the towel. Ensign Estranga, deploy Repulsor Sails and engage CERVA engine systems. Maximum thrust capacity, let's get over there. Ensign Dialo, give their rear formations a little shove with our Mass Drivers... use inferno shells. Ensign Monsana, bring up the Chernokov Grid. Use the new light-emmittions baffler subsystem they installed on us. Ensign Mario, I want our escorts to match our every move, keep them in close proximity to us and have their OLC and DLC arrays providing point defense against any incoming projectiles."

Annabelle smiled wickedly, her white teeth flashing brightly, "Now let's spring this trap, hmm?"

The Shadow glided forward through space, accelerating with a speed most unbefitting her size, flanked closely by her two Atlas-class escorts. The reflective plates on their armor shielding them from both visual wavelength and other spectrum's in equal measure, they approached quickly and unmolested. If a technician were to look at a radar or spectral scan of the area, they'd think a trio of small meteors were hurtling through the stars as opposed to a 1.4 kilometer Keyship and two 0.8 kilometer Atlas-class Destroyers.

After they had closed the distance somewhat, Ensign Dialo fiddled with the targeting controls as the Shadow sprung towards the enemy craft like a lunging predator. Dual clangs resounded through the ship's decks as the autoloading mechnism of the Mass Drivers chambered the three ton Inferno shells. Each round possessed a hard outer frame of depleted uranium, while contained within it's metal form was two highly reactive incendiary chemicals: when the shell penetrate's an enemy craft's hull, the chemicals combust explosively, igniting the struck ship's internal atmosphere into a swirling chemical fireball. The ammunition was rare amoungst the Second Alliance, but Annabelle made a note of stocking her ship with fourty of the horrific weapons at every chance. A loud, digital whistle echoed through the bridge, "Mass Drivers have a lock on the closest ship Ma'am!"

Annabelle snarled, "Let's cook these mother fuckers... Open fire!"

The decks of the Shadow shuddered softly as the two massive underslung guns of the craft fired. A pair of three ton projectiles streaked through the stars, accelerating to incredible speeds. Baffling sinks built into the weapons grounded the electrical discharge within the ship to prevent betraying their position. The speeding projectiles slammed into a craft at the rear of the enemy fleet, their total speed clocking in at 5/8ths the speed of light upon impact. The shells connected with enough force to fold the enemy craft in half.

After the shells were fired, like a medieval tower shield, a field glass-like transparent energy popped into existence to protect their angles of approach. The craft continued their relentless and surprisingly fast approach, all but invisible to most sensors.

Annabelle leaned forward in her command chair to observe the impact of the weapons. She was grinning ear to ear with a devious smile. Finally, she could cut loose a little... if she had to wait much longer she thought she'd go mad.

"Captain, looks like reinforcements are going to be delayed a bit."
"Figures, go through a list of recorded allies and contact someone, I don't care who. Begin diverting power from aft weapons to forward shields and move forward. We're going in hot!"
The vessel pushed forward, it was time to make an impact.

Surface/Cave:
The Drones had a different idea of defense was a little different. They only had the transport, which had been abandoned; the the buggies, which weren't really made for combat; and the tank, and fallen gods knew that wouldn't fo that much alone. The Drones began to spread out, choosing areas of land that provided a little cover. Only a few of them had developed Cryptic abilities, so they'd needed to stay spread out and hard to hit, while simutaniously doing as much damage to the clustered enemy as posisble.

A forward scout came running back as fast as his four legs could carry him.
"They're he sir. Over 500 troops are inbound."
Commander Raktak's tail twitched. Even 100 commandoes couldn't last long against numbers that large.
"Arm the scientists. Tell them to protect the bridge at all costs."
The scout ran into the cave to tell the scientists.

10 minutes later
The Zinzarsi forces came into view. The commandoes readied their weapons. 10 anti-vehicle mines were placed in the Zinzarsi path. The Zinzarsi crossed the paths of the mines an dscreams of pain were heard. Not many were killed. 460 hostiles remained and continued to march forward.
"Commandoes open fire!"
The area was suddenly full of blaster fire and the screams of dying men.

The World Of Many Colours - Klikiss Homeworld

The Klikiss, unlike most races, did not invent new names for things which were not involved in organisational, scientific or mathmatical matters. Even their homeworld was lacking in a unique name, but instead they preferred to describe more important items, their home included, which was known simply as the world of many colours. This was due to it's vibrantly coloured landscape, mostly due to the millenia of wars which had raged across it's surface. Over the years it's clouds had a mixture of pastel like colours to them and the surface was littered with rainbow like patterns ranging from the after effects of mining ore to the results of long past nuclear detonations. Other races however would name the world "Krillick".

It was home to the oldest, largest and most powerful Klikiss Hive, it had a history which many races would have delighted in studying. It was not however placed on the surface, the oldest Klikiss Hive had successfully escaped from the homeworld in the first Hive ship in their history, escalating nuclear technology meant mutually assured destruction which was not in anyway desirable for a Breedex. So they successfully fled, conquered another system after much time and expanded tremendously. Then almost six thousand years later they returned to their war ridden world and assimilated every other Hive on the world. From this a small amount of control was asserted over future Hives.

But the Klikiss were normally isolationist, albeit expansionist isolationists, they had been reigned in by the Ciscilians but that was coming to a close. But instead, rather oddly, they seemed to be developing relations with two other races, those of Greywatch and that of the Second Alliance. As such when a request came to the Klikiss from Greywatch for assistance in defending an area of importance it sent a flurry throughout the Hivemind network.

The dominant Breedex felt obliged to respond, formal relations with two such well thought of races would improve their standing in the galays eyes. It would also help in sweeping aside the discriminations against insectoids.

As such, it was with little aplomb but with great expectations that the Breedex decided to go to this situation and deal with it herself. If it went well it could be a chance for her to personally make moves of diplomacy towards Greywatch and perhaps the Second Alliance.

--------------------

Some Way From The Unidentified World

If anyone had been paying attention towards an area of space a safe distance away from any bodies of significant mass they would have noticed a sudden burst of Kerinkov radiation, a burst which was roughly the size of a small moon. Nearly an instant later The Klikiss Hive commanded by The Breedex simply appeared there.

The Hive ship was immense, and ungainly. From front to back it spanned sixty kilometers, at it's widest point it was forty kilometers, but no descriptive shape could be applied to it. Maybe a rough egg shape, covered in bumps and protusions, like rolling hills covering its surface. Perhaps more apt was that it looked like someone had combined the structure of a termite mound and a bee hive. The Hive Ship's oldest components were nearly two million years old, two million years of effective service. No visibe weapons or pices of equiptment were present on it's surface, the whole thing was made of a dull greyish orange material that resembled plaster.

The Breedex allowed a moment to scan the system and assess what was happening in the system. A second later, once compiling a fix on all bodies of mass in the system the Hive Ship made a translocation near to the Greywatch vessel named the Rabble Rouser, near enough to be of obvious notice but not near to enough to get in the way of any firing action. Due to the Klikiss's use of antigravity for propulsion however it would not cause any significant gravitational disturbances. The Breedex sent a message to the Greywatch vessel to fully assertain the situation; it had taken a maximum of ten seconds for the Klikiss to appear, move and broadcast their presence in the system:

"Greetings Greywatch vessel, i am The Breedex of The Hive, the Breedex of the oldest Hive in Klikiss history. I am responding to a request of aid from your people, we are here to assist, could you perhaps update me on the situation?"

Due to the Hives long history, and the truly large amount of firsthand memories and knowledge gathered through it's existence, along with the perosnal memries, opinons and attitudes of the millions of sentient creatures the Klikiss must have absorbed, a sense of personality had imbued itself in The Hive, further setting it in a special place in the Klikiss race.

The Hiveship however fired up it's gravatic defence system and began opening hundreds of micro black hole in rapid succession to absorb any possible shots which would be heading towards either the Greywatch vessel or the Hiveship itself.

On an initially scientific point of interst they noticed a fast moving anomaly speeding rapidly towards the enemy. Mere scientific curiosity turned to concern when two high velocity projectiles giving off faint radioactive signatures suddenly appeared from nowhere, these two seemed to be anomalies in themselves as they did not show up on scans apart from the Klikiss's projection computers which took a more holistic approach to things. When the shells slammed into the enemy howeve they decided that it was probably a Greywatch vessel and decided to leave it be.

ooc: I took in the ships TSA destroyed into the hostile destruction count. The ships are that strong.

Orbit
The Admiral spotted the new ships on his scanners.
"Let's hope the're friendly."
The Dominion was taking a beating. The weapons began overheating. The super-laser was out of service due to repeated firing. It wasn't built to shoot more than twice in 6 hours.
"Wait. Load the Baridium missiles."
"Sir all the friendly fighters will be destroyed."
"Tell them to break off the attack."
"Yes sir."
The fighters recieved the messae and began to return to the ships. When all the fighters were aboard the Admiral gave the message.
"All allied ships bewarned we are launching nuclear missiles equal to 50,000 atomic bombs. Move to the designated coordinates at full speed."
A stream of coordinates followed the message. The fleet then moved toward the other side of the planet. The hostiles believing they were retreating basked in there victory and didn't follow.

Cave
The commandoes had lost 6 men and 8 were severley wounded. The Zinzarsi continued pushing forward.

Before the Breedex could receive a reply from the Greywatch vessel she was alarmed by a message approaching levels of insanity that not even the Klikiss reached in their most blissful moments:

All allied ships bewarned we are launching nuclear missiles equal to 50,000 atomic bombs. Move to the designated coordinates at full speed.

The Breedex responded quickly, sending another message simultaneously to both the Greywatch vessel and the Charzak vessel, for now she ignored the anomaly.

To Greywatch vessel:

In light of the Charzakians determination to destroy both their foes and a resourceful world i strongly urge you to give me permission to translocate both our vessel to a safe destination immediatly

To Charzakian vessel:

Although we admire your determination to destroy this foe are you perhaps unaware that the ordinance you are employing will most likely obliterate the worlds facing side.

"Admiral the unidentified vessels are worried that our missiles will destroy the planet."
"Open a comm channel"

To unidentified vessel. These missiles are made of a resource made of baridium. In the vaccum of space it is highly explosive and deadly. However it is rendered harmless by the gasses of a planet's atmosphere. Therefore the missiles will not affect the planet at all.

The message threw the Breedex's logic out of the window, she allowed a moment of rational thought to surge through her mind before deciding that she simply could not ignore it.

Firstly i am the Breedex of the Klikiss race, an ally of Greywatch. Secondly, we are not aware of the existence of any material which creates temperatures equivilant to the surface of the sun and yet somehow prevents the temperatures from igniting gases. It defies simple properties and laws of molecular values which are inherent in the universe. Regardless of this a wepon capable of unleashing at least a yield of one hundred atomic bombs could possibly obliterate the planets surface. So this will be devastating. When coming into contact with high temperatures gases will combust; simple. Does your race alck a rudimentary knowledge of mathmatics?

(OOC: I would argue directly against this "thing" but it would probably clof the thread up. I suppose it's "rational" for me to start turning my foes into ruber ducks with my probability generators...)

The Admiral didn't like this. He hated it when the other nations questioned the properties of elements not found on any other planet the Charzak.

Baridium is only found on Charzak and even defies our physics. Baridium in its raw form cannot funcion in space but it is lethal in an atmosphere. However when it is purified it does the opposite. Missiles will be detonated in 30 minutes.

The Breedex didn't like this. She hated it when races waved around items which went directly against the established laws of physics.

To the Breedex this Baridium was about as logical as saying that someone had a match. A match which ignited like all other matches, except this one could be lit underwater. Nevermind that it was exactly like a normal match in it's simple workings, combustible nature, exothermic nature in the form of a flame and yet thanks to the mystrical properties of an unknown material found in a little boys belly button it allowed the flame to burn happily away at the bottom of the ocean. The Breedex made a mental note to make a probability sweep of the Charzak system.

"New contact, captain. Message coming in."
"Put it through."

Before the captain could respond another message came in about the Charzaks using osme kind of over-the-top, impossible-to-imagine superweapon. This, of course, prompted the Klikiss to question the validity of the weapon's properties and led both sides into a random tangent. The captain did, however, pick up on the Klikiss offering Greywatch a way out of the system. The captain decided to respond to all of this in one message.

Can we all discuss the violation on physics for another time. Thank you for making it here so quickly, Breedex. Regarding the plan to leave this are, we already have PSR generators at full and are preparing to pull out now.

With that the Rabble-Rouser opened a rift underneath it and promptly disappeared from the area, appearing next at the coordinates given.

Surface:

The Drones weren't blantently firing off shots at enemies whenever they could, they were far more precise. They picked specific targets and took them down while other Drone diverted fire by moving around the approaching force and using Cryption. The lead Drone, which happened to stay back, was coordinating with the others and reserving its Cryptic energy for whenthe enemy got very close. Three Drones had gone down, the rest were safe due to their unnaturally fast regenration abilities. Well, Drones were made to hold out for long periods of time when very few in number...

Mid-System----------------------

Annabelle watched things unfold on her heads-up displays. Things were quickly getting out of hand. These Charzakians were becoming increasingly dangerous. The Second Alliance was still smarting from the loss of the Watchman some months earlier, and the loss of a Keyship due to some sort of accident would cripple the Alliance military. Annabelle sighed and pulled up a comm Channel with the Rabblerouser before it jumped off.

"I'm sorry Greywatch. I wish we could help more, but things are getting too dicey. Our military is still recovering from recent losses, and we can't afford to jeopardize what remains of our forces by exposing them to such dangerous conditions as these Charzakians seem to be creating and in addition, our military might seems widely ineffective in this fight. I apologize, but I must withdraw my forces. I shall monitor the situation and send help when I can, but for now, our part in this has ended.

Good luck to you my valiant brothers. End Transmission."

With that, the Shadow of Hope and her escorts leapt out of system, back to Heartstone.

The Admiral was enraged.
"Only cowards run. We never surrender and never retreat. Detonate the missiles."
"Yes sir."
The missiles detonated creating a huge explosion. All ships caught in the blast were vaporised. The cheers didn't last long though. A enormous ship bigger than 4 battlestations appeared. A light flashed from it and 20 ships were destroyed.
"We are in trouble."

Cave
The tanks were taking a beating. 2 were destroyed and another had to be abandoned due to damage. 20 commandoes were dead and the Zinzarsi were close enough to touch.
Commander Raktak yelled "Swords, swords! Make them eat plasma!" (ooc: or whatever a lightsaber is made of. i know its not light.)

IC:

The Drones loved this kind of contact. Three of them had taken the role of becoming flamethrowers, bellowing out entense fire. The Elder Drone had taken things in a different direction and instead released its Cryptic potential. Within moments, its entire body was surrounded with electricity. With only a swipe of its arm, a massive electrical wave went forward and washed over the oncoming forces. Most other Drones had fallen and the Elder Drone was taking up their share of the fighting.

The Breedex watched as the anomaly left the system, her sub-space monitoring systems translated the data picked up from the explosion into something viewable. Impossible, she thought to herself. She pondered the Charzakians, if the Ciscilians had been here they would be facing a fight from two fronts. The Hive Ship translocated back into a close location near to where the battle was raging, the Charzakians magical weaponry seeming to invite more foes, the Breedex made an informed decision, she open up a secure communications link with the Greywatch group:

"Attention Greywatch forces this is the Klikiss, after assessing the situation i have decided that these Charzakians are not of any interest to us, we will be here however to defend your vessels via our gravatic weaponry. Will your ground forces require any form of back up or assistance?"

The Dominion was in trouble. She, 2 dreadnaughts, and 3 cruisers were all that remained.
The Admiral was in a grim mood.
"I only see one possibility that we could exploit."
"What is that sir?"
The Admiral turned to his comm officer.
"Send all crew to the escape pods. We are abandoning ship. But first set us on a collision course with the enemy."
"Yes sir!"

Cave
250 Zinzarsi remained. However over half of the commandoes were dead. All the tanks were destroyed. The Commander had no choice.

He turned to the lead Drone.

The Rabble-Rouser sat, shields up and weapons primed. Reinforcements didn't look like they were going to be showing up anytime soon, how annoying. For now, the Rabble-Rouser kept its distance and played an ever so dangerous waiting game. Hopefull ythose on the surface were fairing better. The Second Alliance folks had been lucky, getting out when they did.

Surface:
The Elder Drone gave a slight groan, the commander didn't understand the Drones and their purpose. They were weapons, nothing more, expendable and uncaring about their own 'lives.' The Elder Drone considered the option only because ducking inside the cave actually might give an edge to the Greywatch and Charzakian forces. Without their leader giving even so much as an order, all the other remaining Drones began to move back to the cave. A handful of them remained, no doubt many Drones had taken it upon themselves to perform suicide runs into the enemy horde. The Drones all began moving back, entered the cave while keeping up the pressure. 250 remaining enemies? Damn persistance...

As the final soldiers came through the entrance a scientist activated a control panel that closed the cave entrance. "Sir we have found a way to destroy the enemies."
"Really well that is good news. How will we do it?"
"Well the enemy must have activated some defense mechanism for the ship. If we create a large explosion the ship will electrify its surface in activation of its shields. Everything out side will be vaped."
"Too bad we don't have explosives."

Even more importantly, if they were in someone else's territory, what kind of a difference was fighting going to make? The enemy could just send more ships. Reinforcements were now three minutes out.

The Elder Drone watched as events unfolded, luckily the small mobil research center had gotten off the suface just in time. The Drone was still curious as to how the Charzakians had been able to figure out an alien ship's weapons controls after such a short period of time. For the time being, the Drone was far more concerned with getting off the ship, it really didn't care for this mission anymore. They were in someone else's territory and there were probably more reinforcements on their way. No doubt an alien empire with a ancient, planet-sized ship in their backyard wasn't going to let it go that easily. The Drone said nothing for tha time being, simply watching and taking everything in.
