Schultarian Government Releases Defense Forces Armory Guide
Newest Draft in Three Years Expected to Stoke Interest with Foreign Defense / Intelligence Agencies

Schultaria Prime, a nation better known for its civil engineering and civilian technological accomplishments than its offensive military prowess, is turning heads with its newest government publication. In a brief press conference held by members from the National Assembly and Kamor Collabraci (Schultarian: Defense Forces) a new catalog of Schultaria Prime's indigenous arms technology has been released to the public domain. While this is first new publication of its kind in nearly two years, the timing of its distribution has stoked debate amongst the nation's political and scientific communities.

Central Director Elliot Schultz, in the face of numerous crises involving overextended urban infrastructure, extraordinary population density, and rising food prices, has begun to slip in public opinion polls to his lowest approval ratings in twenty-five years. Many pundits in the Schultarian political community have laid charges that this publication is an attempt by the Directorate to bolster their standing amongst the electorate and in the eyes of the international community. In response, the Office of the Central Directorate released a statement proclaiming "This document is but one testament of the nation's technological achievements," and that the Central Directorate will use this document to "promote increased international interest in the capabilities of Schultarian science and industry."

Although many members of the Schultarian defense community regard the current publication as an extended rough draft, numerous techno- and hoplophiles have already expressed interest in obtaining the document. As the official news portal for the USSSP, the complete document has been compiled into an easily accessable electronic format, and is available via the following link at the end of this press release.

OOC: Thank you both for your kind words! It was an exhausting effort to put all of my loose military technologies together in one large file, and I hope it's well received by the rest of the community. As such, I hope there will be a couple of defense / intelligence departments who will deliver an IC response to the publication. It would definitely be a nice touch to the thread.

OOC: Sheeit, that's nice. May I recommend Issuu (http://www.issuu.com)? Makes epic PDF's more...epic - as a sample: http://issuu.com/dbarron/docs/odecondraftfinpol - a document I put together for ODECON (strictly OOC knowledge for any of you wondering, that's a classified ODECON document ;) ).

OOC:

Izistan...

When it comes to space technology, especially weapons platforms, best to take it from vessels that actually did the job!

I don't know if you've seen it, but you may notice a peculiar pluralization on the 155 mm cannon series (the Akamarm comes to mind). It's hard to shoehorn some national names into a Schultarian linguistic context, but I hope it's a little bit of flattery to you for your contributions to my nation's artillery / nuclear program.

Brittanican Adenia...

I didn't know there was such a tool on the Internet to help modify PDF documents, and I'll definitely take a look at it. Since I made the armory guide with OpenOffice and used their PDF export tool, it took a little bit of time to fiddle around with spacing and settings to make everything work as it should. If I can make it look better with a little less effort, that would be great (since I plan to make product catalogs of my former storefront, Designwerks, as a means of getting back into NS full time).
