Dear Head of State,

The Republic of Dirola is a beautiful island-nation, notable for it's peacefulness. A former French colony, the majority of the citizens have French ancestors, but the state language is English. Dirola has many natural resources, including oil, wood and natural gas.

Following The Bill of Foreign Relations 2008, it has been decided for the nation to come of isolation, and enter the international community. We wish to share our 'paradise' with our fellow nations, like you.

We hope that we can begin relations with your nation, whoever it may be, soon.

Yours in Friendship,
President Nikolai Barbeau,
Prime Minister Jean Lemieux,
Foreign Minister Ember Savard.

The Commonwealth of Zoingo would like to say "Welcome to Nationstates, or II!" to the young nation of Dirola, who has presented themselves in a proper political manner, than just by going out and declaring war on the world. We are highly interested in the tourist potential of Dirola, as well as the natural mineral resources that Dirola contains. As a token of our appreciation, we would like to give The nation of Dirola 1 Billion USD to jumpstart its economy whilst appearing on the international scene. If there were as many peaceful nations as Dirola active in the International Community, foolish wars and squabbles could more easily be delt with.

Your Friends,
Prime Minister Martin Dalons
King Ragnald IV
Minister of International Affairs Francis Pierock
Parliament Head Lord Dunmore

From: Co-CEO of Belu, Geren & Oranej Dókáreum Petroleum Corporation

We wish to purchase 60% of your company in a bid to save your corporation, its nation of origin and its assets from the wrath of the Griffincrest corporation who tries to monopolise the world's oil industry. We will pay top dollar and allow you to continue on. The difference will be that you will have the support of Uiri as the Uir government owns 7.5% of this corporation by owning another corporation who is a shareholder. We can't guarantee the suppor of Kirav however, it is a joint Uir-Kiravian corporation. Please, save yourself from the personal army of the Griffincrest Corporation.

Dear sir,

We are thankful for your greetings of good will towards our nation. We are extremely thankful for your donation which is being put into to fund a government economy fund. We would live to start relations as soon as possible, along with trade developments. We have started a tourist industry called 'Relatives' which will probably be one of the most popular tourist companies in Dirola. We thank you for your kind comments and hope our nations will become great allies in the near future.

Dear Co-CEO,

We would be happy to have The Geren & Oranej Dókáreum Petroleum Corporation buy 60% of our company in a bid to save us from Griffencrest. We have realised that they pose a large threat to us and we will enjoy having your company backing us. Guild is a private company, and we have decided to permit The Geren & Oranej Dókáreum Petroleum Corporation to buy a share of us.

Dear Co-CEO,

Forgive me for not stating the price in my last message. Guild, onj the international market, is small, so 6-10 million Dirolan Nationals would be enough. We are confident that you agree this is a good asking price for Guild.

OOC: Would y'all stop assuming its my nation buying that corporation. Do you not see the thread 'Belu, Geren & Oranek Dókáreum Petroleum Corporation is formed.'? Its a corporation which was created from two other petroleum corporations one from my nation one from Kirav and 20% of its stake is for sale on the stock market. Its a corporation which either Kirav or I can RP and it isn't even wholly owned by our citizens for foreign stock traders can buy it. It is one corporation which is technically nation-neutral buying a controlling share in a Dirolan corporation. And if the Dirolan corporation's market share is less than 75-80%, new corporations can realistically start-up.

We do believe that you already agreed to allow us to buy a share of your company. You accepted our earlier offer and thus we formed a contract and we had even negotiated a price - 12 million Dirolan nationals. We made a contract and if you back out now, it is breach of contract which is illegal. We are sorry but you cannot back out now, or we shall sue you.

OOC: I see you edited the quoted part of your post out. We already formed a contract, you can't back out without risking being sued for a large sum of money for we did not intend to sell our stake for a very long time. Upwards of 10 years.

OOC:

The Battlehawk - A contract does not have to be signed. It is an agreement between two parties. There is such a thing as an oral contract which is as legal bindin as a written contract the problem being he said she said. The correspondence is record, they agreed to let us buy a share of their company.

Tanuri - We'd sue for 10-20 years worth of dividends. We stated that we expected 600 000 Dirolan nationals per dividend and there are 3-5 dividends a year and thus we can expect anywhere between 18 and 60 million Dirolan nationals in compensation. They said they were small and so 6-10 million was 60% of their company. 100% of their company is 10 - 17 million. They would go bankrupt more likely than not.

ooc: What I meant was that they not pay up- there's no court that can force them. Then they hope they don't get destroyed or blacklisted.

ooc: he just said how much he wanted... and you'd go broke unless you printed a lot more money, which would murder you with inflation
Uiri
18-10-2008, 22:33
OOC: Dirola - How many dividends do you give out every year?

Tanuri - the Contract is a universal concept.

Minister Savard,
Your thanks are not needed, all developing countries start somewhere and yours is no exeption, because tomorrows markets may just be in your nation. Our merchant companies are highly interested in the potential status of trade with Dirola, and relations can begin at any time. If possible, maybe an arrangement of a meeting can be made between our 2 countries to hammer out trade agreements as well as establishing a non-agression pact? We await a response from Dirola, and it seems that being allies in the future is a prospect that is not far off.
