OOC: This is about my oil and Kirav's oil merging. We can't keep Arabian oil all to ourselves forever.
IC:

Belu, Geren & Oranej Peterolum Inc. finally gets OK from Belu, Geren & Oranej Conogolomerat to merge with Dókáreum Corporation

In a shocking move by Belu, Geren & Oranej Conogolomerat which is in itself owned by the other five majour Conogolomeraté, the Government and individual shareholders has finally given the OK for its subsidy operating oil extraction in Uir Arabi and Kanada to merge with what has been seen as the companies only majour competition in its area of operation - Dókáreum Corporation.

Dókáreum Corporation is from Kirav and operates in the Kiravian portions of Arabi. Hailing from one of Uiri's closest allies, the competition has been seen as unhealthy by many economic analysts of Uir origin and some of Kiravian origin. The idea of a merge with Kiravian oil corporations has been floating around those working for B,G&O Peterolum ever since it moved to Uir Arabi at the conclusion of the Arabi campaign.

For approximately one week now, the only barrier has been B,G&O's parent company's seal. Today, the seal was given and now the two corporations are one. The move came after BG&O Peterolum's stocks began going down as the price of gasoline went up to 350 mila a liter. This does not effect the average Uir citizen but it sure does effect Uir investors who depend on their Otomobilé to get around.

The stock's listing on the NUX is soaring with news of the merge as revenue and ultimately dividends are expected to increase. Especially because BG&O Conogolomerat sold 40% of its stake in the company which has already been cut in half on the market in order to allow investors from the world over to buy stock in the newly formed corporation. This is the Geren Gazet praising the merge of two large oil coporations.

An idea of the size of our oil reserves:

I have calculated 792.25 billion barrels or reserves in Saudi Arabia, Canada, Iraq, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Nigeria, Vietnam, the Philippines, Brunei & South Africa. Please note the last three have less than 1 bil, Vietnam has only 2.5 bil, more than half of it is in the first two countries, and more than ¾ of it is in the first four countries. Kirav's share is probably just over a third however mine is more spread out. I don't know about reserves in the Spratly islands, which Kirav owns, however it is convenient because I have the Philippines. Altogether, we have about 57.75% of the RL worlds proven oil reserves. And then there is Kirav's other colonies which don't correspond to RL territories.

We at Dókáreum Corporation confirm the merge with Belu, Geren & Oranej Peterolum Inc.

It is our hope that this merge will increase our profits, and improve our competitiveness in the global oil market.

OOC: Fighter4u - New nations? You may have been playing for 3 years, but 1½ years and 2 years is not by any standards new. In any case, I shall link you to the threads if I can find them.

Primary Fields (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=553100)
Secondary Canadian Uir Fields (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=546983)
How I got Secondary Nigerian Uir fields (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=553764)
Tertiary Vietnamese Uir Fields (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=546866)

Kirav - I already have made a proposal to a new nation claiming to have oil, warning of Griffincrest.

The newb didn't respond to it at all though. Do you have any territories in threads I may have missed (those I wasn't apart of except the Latin America thread)?

**kicks self in figurative head for selling Halako oil field to Manth**

There's an oil field near Seawind Territory in Ryou's thread, but I'll have to look for the rest.

-EDIT-

I just remembered that I have the Spratly/Paracel Islands!

Sounds awesome. You ought to put that in the OP.

OOC: What do you mean Zoingo? Kirav and I planned this for, what, two or three months now? I've wanted to create an airline alliance for a longer time however. When Air Ruccola and BG&O Érowés got to talking the idea came up and both airlines liked it.

Kirav, I'll get right on that. Did you find anything else? Also, do you own the Santos Basin? I skimmed the Brazil Conference and couldn't find a nice map of everyone's territories.

OOC: Imperial Isa, if you must know it was Buranen.

Zoingo, I see. Well, the style was not actually that pre-planned. We went with a merge so that we'd both have an equal say. BTW, I don't know if you read the OP or not but 20% of the company was put up for sale on the NUX.

A tertiary field off of Cameroon, some things in South Africa. I'm also going to RP a minor oil field in my new claims in Giscardia. I'll get back to you on Brazil.

OOC: Sorry wrong people. My mistake.

IC:

The People Republic of the Socialist States of Fighter4u wishes to purhase oil from this new company. May we ask how much and at what price?
Uiri
18-10-2008, 21:27
OOC: Yes, Zoingo, it is buyable. It was put there as a way to get nations involved in the thread as just announcing this, as I assume most people assumed, is very slow replies. I would prefer individual investors buying totals of less than 1% but with more likely than not over 800 billion barrels of proven oil reserves, dividends are probably $1 per barrel of oil in these proven reserves as we aren't pumping it out all at once and such and with factors of 20:1 for price of share to dividend I can confidently give a $20 000 000 000 000 market capitalization, with 1 000 000 000 000 shares and only $4 000 000 000 000 market capitalization actually available the corresponding number of shares being available being 200 000 000 000. If you think I'm overstating, say so because this is very rough.

Fighter4u I have to work out the production figures and Uir demand, find out Kiravian demand, project being able to satisfy both for 100 years and then see how much we have left. Price should be around $30/barrel. I can recommend gasoline prices if you have no tax on either oil or gasoline.

OOC: Hey, we're willing to sell. Motive is overlooked.

Uiri: Just something I think we ought to do. We need to maintain the moral highground above Griffincrest, which will guarantee us support and a selling point. Also, good job buying us a subsidiary.

OOC: No problem

And Griffincrest a bit tied up in a mass invasion of his Homeland anyway. So their shouldn't be a problem their.
Uiri
18-10-2008, 21:44
Kirav - I think it is subsidy although i always get the two confused. I know one is a gov't hand-out and the other is a corporation owned by a parent company but I can never remember which is which. Anyhow, you are welcome, I believe that in order to beat Griffincrest we must do peaceful takeovers. If they refuse, we respect that and press it no further. What is demand of oil in your nation?

Fighter4u - Oh really? Sounds good. It'll buy us some time to buy us some more oil companies. Peacefully of course.
Uiri
18-10-2008, 22:49
OOC: I apologize for the double post but this is relevant:

Kirav - the subsidiary's nation tried to back out, I caught him with a contract and threatened to sue for 10 years worth of dividends which the corporation could not realistically pay and thus would go bankrupt and we'd swoop in and buy the assets. The player agreed to give us the 60% share but then quit because of all the fighting over whether it really was a contract, what court would force them and whether it was the Uir government or not. I'm still unsure if what we own.
