A report, leaked from the Dominion of iStormistan, and pried from the dead corpse of the agent sent to retrieve it, reports that the ruler of that nation has made secret plans with a fellow nation, offering up to 10% of iStormistans populace up for sale.

In most of the civilised world this is illegal, but the report details how the ruler, Lord iStorm, is all too happy at the prospect, and rubbing his hands in glee at the prospect of all that gold in his coffers.

No more information is as yet available, but a footnote in the report states that iStormistan is militarily ready to protect itself from international sanctions.

The Government of Salzland, alongside a vast majority of the civilized nations of this world, continues to oppose the international slave trade. Having received a report from the Nation of iStormistan outlining a state-sponsored slavery plan, the Government of Salzland wishes to announce that should such a plan be implemented, iStormistan and the purchasing nation(s) will be subjected to a full set of economic sanctions.

Furthermore, the Government of Salzland will announce at this time that the Salzland Defense Fleet will from this time forward be authorized to search any iStormistan-flagged vessels in international waters and seize whatever contraband or illegal cargoes, including 'slaves,' are found aboard said vessels.

It was already night, the moon light shining through the seas ahead, as figures nearly blending with the horizon sailed. Camouflaged vessels of a small flotilla, with unconventional shapes to avoid as far as possible the flat surfaces that would allow for easy detection of the same, likely expensive and built of composite materials as well as of steel. The Magnificent and Beautiful, Wise and Powerful, Perfect and Almighty, Queen Lyta of Brellach, Her horses swift and Her blade true, has read of this travesty of the most distressing kind and is feeling that something is to be done to liberate such 'slaves' from their masters. To be bound and bartered like mere cattle is not a way for people of these times to be living, and much shock is caused by this.

(OOC: Seems like detailing all technical details is always needed, so here it goes: there is not a real "runway", because it's a S/VTOL transport, of course such "carrier" is extremely limited compared to conventional aircraft carriers due to its special role(because TANSTAAFL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TANSTAAFL)), not truly designed for conventional military operations or for naval supremacy or large-scale operations, and roughly as large as a destroyer. "Atten-shun!" shouted the lieutenant as Vamperial Assassin Master Rathma, Vamperial Assassin Knight Longshanks and Vamperial Assassin Headmaster Sherman entered the room as hundreds of Assassin Officers, Vamperial Assassin Masters and Vamperial Assassin Knights stood up.

"You may be seated gentlemen and ladies," started Sherman as he bought up a map of the world and the position of Istormista. "At 0405 last night, I was given a telegram that was given by Salzland stating that there's going to be raids on Istormistan Shipping. These shipping holds suspected slaves that are being treated like cattle," briefed Sherman.

"Do we expect naval escort of the slave freighters?" asked an officer.

"Expect medium to heavy escorts," started Rathma. "We had an interception of their telegrams and they're dispatching 1/3 of their air force and their navy to escort their freight," finished Rathma.

"However, with the Dark Knights present," started Sherman as the commander from the Dark Knights put up his hand for a moment before bringing it back down. "You'll be working alongside the Assassin Navy, Assassin Air Force and the Hunter Marines. There will be a small bounty on the heads of officers you find along the way but don't take that into mind. You're objective is to locate enemy shipping, capture any ships that has slaves onboard, sail the ship back to Lynx and netualise any escort parties alongside the freighter that is transporting slaves. Any questions?"

"How much is the bounty on the officers head sir," asked a Vamperial Assassin Master.

"150 thousand Lymaxs," replied Sherman.

"Are we going to be working alongside Salzland?" asked another.

"It can be granted and we think we will," replied Sherman.

The officers, knights and masters left the massive hall as they started to head back to their companies. The idea was going to be simple but it was going to require stealth to get under the radar. The Seekers were going to play a key role in this conflict and so were the new coastal defence network that had just being completed. Sherman wasn't worried about the idea as he seen the works of slavery and he was going to make sure it was going to end in this conflict. However, he was more interested at the moment with the new detachment of Lynion Hunters and Regulars coming to defend Lynx should the worst be realised.

The Republic of Ancient Terra once again cautions against military action for what is otherwise a rather trivial matter. The selling of slaves is an abhorrent practice, but is it truly worth all of this rattling of sabers? Are your men prepared to die for some poor soul they will never meet? Being the personal manservant to the Rukmenistani Commander had plenty of benefits, but those were generally tempered by the few unpleasant duties Wilson had to endure on a daily basis; for one, interacting with the Foreign Minister. "The Commander requested I deliver it to you personally."

The Foreign Minister barely looked up from his notebook computer, but even that tiny glance was crammed with supercilious disdain, making it quite perfectly clear how he felt about the Commander's butler. Unlike most of his fellows in the Rukmenistani government, Chase Sumner was one of the "graduates", the term used for young citizens who had studied an appropriate course in higher education and used that to jump straight into officer-hood. The fact such a path was even possible had been the source of much derision from enlisted troops and those in the officer corps who had worked their way through the ranks, to the point where referring to somebody as a "graduate" was a term of revulsion. Of course, unlike his fellow graduates, Sumner had acquitted himself over time by volunteering for active duty as a rookie Lieutenant - at the time of the revolution, he had risen to become a Colonel and had gained a well-deserved reputation for marksmanship.

The upshot of this was that the Foreign Minister had become a very bitter, very driven individual, unwilling to tolerate any behaviour that wasn't strictly geared towards personal advancement and tremendously hostile to almost everyone - in fact, the only people he would admit that he respected were the Commander and the six men that had served under him in Special Unit S-08. Since he was neither, Wilson got the same disdain that everyone else did as Sumner merely held out his hand for the message.

Having recently received your telegram, the Government of Salzland feels that it must clarify its position on the issue at hand. We are not engaging in Acts of Piracy in boarding these vessels, seizing contraband cargoes and detaining the crews. Rather, we are enforcing existing international law to the letter, and acting entirely within our rights.

To quote from World Assembly Resolution #20, the "Suppression of International Piracy Resolution," a 'Pirate' is defined as an individual/group "...Who are not formally recognised agents of any government... who operate in groups to use threats and force to seize vehicles and their cargos — and possibly their passengers, and/or crew, as well — for personal gain." Salzland interprets the bolded section to clearly apply to private vessels used by iStormistan to transport captive human cargoes for personal profit.

Article Five of that Resolution, then, is binding upon us. "5. Urges and authorises all WA member nations to do as much as they reasonably can to suppress international piracy within any areas (such as ‘international waters)' that are not under any nation’s effective control, and its bases wherever those are." Therefore, our actions in boarding private vessels are justified. Even were they not to be, as recognized apparati of a sovereign nation the Salzland Defense Forces would not engage in piracy. Instead, our actions would constitute an Act of War, were they to be unjustified. In this instance, we are more than justified.

As far as state-controlled shipping is concerned, World Assembly Resolution #12, the "Prevention of Terrorism" is governing. Noting that the operative definition of Terrorism is as follows: "The unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a Government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives," the Salzland position is that it is impossible to interpret the iStormistan actions as anything but state-sponsored terrorism. As such, we are bound by World Assembly Resolution #12 to "Unilaterally and in co-operation with other WA States, as well as World Assembly, [to] contribute to the progressive elimination of the causes underlying international terrorism and to pay special attention to all situations, including situations involving mass and flagrant violations of fundamental human rights and civil freedoms and those involving alien occupation, that may give rise to international terrorism and may endanger international peace and security."

We appreciate your concern in this issue and we respect your decision to remain neutral, but we believe that international law is clear-cut and on our side. The ASoGM Carrier Battlegroups Freedom and Independence continued their naval exercise, but expanded the scope of it with more E-2 Hawkeye flights, so they could keep an eye on the shipping lanes used by IStormistan. Also, a squadron of F-18E aircraft from each carrier were prepped with a multi-mission combat loadout, in case it was needed. We are interested in fighters to supress the Imperialian Government in Australia. We would require at least 100,000 extra hands to take on the government and remove it from power.
