Schooling in Aresium (IC Thread)

Laches International Airport was filled with Aresian tourists who were either returning from foreign lands or trying to find the planes that would take them to lands that interested them. There were also a bunch of uniformed chauffers that were walking around the airport with signs in their hands that showed the names of students they were waiting to pick up such as Caroline and the Motokatan girls. A line of vehicles awaited the students outside the airport as did the entire city of Laches, the capital, along with the host families who were immediately told about which students would be sent to them. It was rumored that Caroline's host family was the former Royal Family of Aresium dethroned by the people in a mass referendum before they eventually chose to be led by the Platonic Republicans. They lived in a lavish palace under the status of wealthy commoners who were assimilated, people mostly said, into the new society of the Platonic Republic. Such rumors were supported when a limosuine was waiting with the chauffer holding the sign with Caroline's name on it. The host families, meanwhile, were furnishing their homes for the arrivals of the students they would be recieving into their homes. Not all the students would be living in Laches but, rather, would be sent to other cities and towns around Aresium. The chauffers, therefore, were given vehicles that could manage treks to other cities such as Lysis. The entirety of Aresium would be opened to the students at their leisure. They would all attend separate schools, learn different things, and experience all sorts of events and incidents. They would be given the power to make their visit pleasurable or shitty; it was all in their hands. The planes would soon touch down, the chauffers noted, and so they prepared themselves.
Bumped for people who signed up.

For the young Princess Caroline, it had been a long flight, even aboard the private jet that her family had made available to quicken the transit. As she looked down out the window in the direction of Laches, she could not help but smile a bit. She had heard about the city in recent days, and had been anxious to see it. She did feel some trepidation at spending a long time in a foreign land, but that was in the background. Mostly, she was just a thrilled little girl, excited at being able to experience something new.
“Your Highness?” The flight attendant caught the Princess’s attention. “The pilot says we have just a few minutes until we land, so would you please buckle up?”
“Okay,” Caroline said with a nod as she buckled. “Thank you.”
In reply, the flight attendant smiled, helped make sure the belt was tight, and then went to her own seat again. Within the next ten minutes, the plane had landed at the airport, and a highly excited Romandeosian princess had debarked.
In reply, the flight attendant smiled, helped make sure the belt was tight, and then went to her own seat again. Within the next ten minutes, the plane had landed at the airport, and a highly excited Romandeosian princess had debarked.
When the Romandeosian jet had landed on the runway, the chauffer appointed with the task of escorting Caroline to her host family threw the sign, a bit madly, up into the air while putting a smile upon his face. He noticed Caroline in the distance and lured her over with his hand. Once he recieved her attention, he gave her some little speech he prepared as he had waited for her to arrive. "......Your Highness, it is a pleasure to meet you. I'm the chauffer appointed to take you to your host family; you need only follow me and we'll head out."
The chauffer led Caroline out to the vehicle that waited for them out alongside the others and the chauffer threw the sign away before he opened the door for his ward and then for himself and, once both were inside, he proceeded to drive the girl to her intended destination. Laches surely looked like a lovely city if one looked it at it well enough with its massive Greco-Roman temples and the theatre houses in which comedies and tragedies entertained the masses. The chauffer pointed out, as he drove, various places that Caroline may be interested in checking out. "....You'll never know what will interest you."
The vehicle soon got its way past the crowded streets to what looked like an imposing mansion that belonged to someone of high importance on the social status ladder who we would refer to as either an upper class lord or a morbid capitalist. The mansion was owned by upper class common stock who offered to take Caroline into their flock during her visit. This was the mansion of the Pandareus family which made its living in various ways over the centuries. It was the family's patriarch, Menelaus Pandareus, who had offered to take Caroline in. He was a youthful middle aged man with much sexual vitality for his wife and much love and care for his children. With comrades, he gave off an aura of absolute trust and near perfect chivalry of a Falklandian nature. The chauffer helped Caroline out of the vehicle and into the mansion which looked like any other mansion would. A bust of an Ancient Aresian stood proudly in Caroline's midst while, later on, she could see a gallery of family portraits hanging amidst the aura of familial love. The route to Menelaus' study wasn't too hard to navigate through although Caroline was stopped for a five minute discussion with Menelaus' sultry wife, Clytemnestra. Her looks, charm and intelligence really made her husband quite famous and, as well, the object of men's jealousies but he would not pay any heed to them. His wife did neither although, sometimes, it was nice to see one was popular among the masses.
Menelaus' study was finally found and after the chauffer knocked three times upon the door of it, Menelaus stepped out to greet Caroline with a firm handshake and a jovial laugh. He surely looked like a handsome man who, despite his aging, still retained the features of his youth. "Welcome to my humble abode, Your Highness. I am Menelaus Pandareus. It's a pleasure to meet you at last. Come, I'll show you around."
Menelaus took Caroline away from the chauffer towards her guest room which was right around where his son and daughter slept in their rooms since their rooms were right around her own. Caroline's room looked luxuriously furnished and very presentable. Menelaus was a bit proud when he showed it to his foreign royal ward. "....I am sure this room is to your standards, Your Highness, but tell me if it is not. You need not think you will offend me by being discontented."
Menelaus smiled. "......Do you want to stay here for a while first? If not, I'll show you around the rest of the mansion. I'm pretty sure you'll have a great time in Aresium."

A Lockheed Jetstar, in the olive green livery of the Hydria Military Academy, flew in towards Laches International Airport. Sat on board the plane was Corporal Nathan Palmer, and the only other occupant was Lieutenant Daniels, the Foreign Liason Officer for the Academy. The flight had been a long one, taking them through the night.
Nathan sat there, thinking about why things were the way they were in Ustio: New islands had just been colonised
Great he thought, smiling to himself. But his smile quickly faded as it difficult to ignore the conflict and sorrow that Ustio was gripped by: The former Prime Minister had died & elements of the Navy had deployed to Roef, the New Island & Greal without rest. It was a sad state of affairs.
The airport came into view as they passed over it. The jet flew around and made its landing. Once parked, Nathan & Lieutenant Daniels left the plane and headed through the terminal.

A plane carrying both Eri and Makiko roared it's way to Aresium. Both girls were in separate areas of the plane. Eri was munching on a bagel to keep her blood sugar in check, Makiko was drawing away. About midway through a nasty patch of turbulance gave the flight a bit of a scare as it seemed to loose all control even though it was just a bit of a struggle for the pilots. "We do apologize about that, folks, just some heavy turbulence we should be arriving at our destination in an hour."
Each girl through about how they left.
"Eri, I packed you, your favorite bagels to eat on the plane, don't forget to eat now."
"I'll be okay mom, I promise."
"Make sure you give your Emergency Instructions to your host family and school teachers. If you pass out they need to know what to do."
"Yes mom, I will." And like that she was on the plane.
-------------------------------
Makiko was the black sheep of her family, her father and mother were all financial wizards that maintained the nation's budget. Her older brother was now ruining a successful business which was more than a corner store. Her sisters were also top CFO's of two of Motokatan's companies including the sponsor of the Student Exchange Program CyberLink3. Makiko was an artist, she drew constantly and not only that, she brought vibrant color to her drawings in digital and stationary ink. Her goodbyes were pretty typical, a small hug from her mother a "don't be a goof now" from her father. She looked forward to her expenditure in Aresium.
Se'sa walked from the side of the observation deck towards the stairwell as a call rang out on the PA system, the words blurred by wind and by the engines. Below her, the nation she would be calling her home for the next year at least stretched out, a beautiful canvas of colours. Looking along the rippling gasbag that dominated the sky above her, she could see the airship slowly dipping down, angling itself towards the ground as it lost altitude to come in to land.
"Se'sa, mei dai!"
She looked back in her direction of travel as her parents called her to come back into the passenger gondola, one of the stewards preparing to close the stairwell doors. Quick walking, she ducked down past the half-closed shutter before skipping down the stairs into the carpeted interior. Here, the light streamed in through windows along the sides of the gondola, calming it to a warm glow rather than the harsh white of the outside. Following her parents, she passed through a few narrow corridors, before reaching their cabin. At the touch of a key card, the door opened, sliding to reveal a comfy interior, the TV still flickering as it picked up signals from the nearest Mesolite. It turned off as she looked at the off button, as she paced over to her bed in the corner. Her luggage lay on her bed, but she ignored it as she moved to the controls on the windows, hitting a button to change the glass tint. The windows cleared, allowing her to see the land much closer to her. To her side, a small air-yacht cut past their airship cruise liner, passing the opposite direction to them. It was likely as not the property of one of the richer Alfegan traders now gracing the skies, flitting to-and-fro across nations.
Feeling a sudden lightness, she saw the scenery coming faster towards her, the shapes of cars now easily visible around them. At the right angle, she could just see the landing area coming up, vehicles moving in to support the airship on touch down. She turned away as she checked over her bags, making sure she had everything, before leaving the cabin and pacing over to the main stairwell. People were already congregated here, preparing to disembark form the large exit doors on each floor. The rate of descent slowed, causing the airship to shake madly as the engines changed power direction to reverse. The vibrations ceased, replaced by a sudden jolt as the airship slowed to a halt. From the small windows in the exit doors, she could see the airship had been roped down, now held in place by mooring masts around the craft. The slow drifting movement was stopped with another shudder as the steps were moved into place: long step units meant for the largest of aircraft improvised to link up to these side doors.
The doors finally opened, allowing a crowd of people to move down the stairs towards the ground. Down at ground level, the hordes were directed into the waiting buses, to enter the terminal. Se'sa stepped out into the sunlight, blinking as she took in her surroundings: an airport terminal nearby surrounded by aircraft and vehicles, a large grassy patch by the side of the runway acting as a temporary landing area for the airship services to Aresium until further negotiations could be sorted out. She barely had time to do so before she was swept into a bus and away through the crowd towards the terminal.
After the chaos of border controls, she found herself saying goodbye to her parents as she pushed her luggage away towards a waiting man in arrivals, a large placard displaying her name.
"Ay'ou Se'sa, mei lo'feu! Io'feli!"
Her parents called as she walked away. She knew enough English to get by from the computers, though the region she had lived in spoke Fegosian as the predominate language. Smiling, she approached the man who was obviously here to collect her.
"Hello. I'm Se'sa."
She could think of little else to say to the man.
The airport came into view as they passed over it. The jet flew around and made its landing. Once parked, Nathan & Lieutenant Daniels left the plane and headed through the terminal.
The chauffer sent to escort Nathan to his host family was busying himself by pacing around the grounds of the airport whilst he whistled an old folk tune he remembered. His eyes scanned the surroundings for anyone that could be Nathan until they locked on the boy and his accompanying lieutenant. He rushed to transform himself into the ever faithful and devoted chauffer image of himself he developed prior to this day and welcomed the two Ustians with a smile and a kind tone of voice. ".....Welcome to Aresium, Nathan. I assume your companion here was sent to make sure everything is in order; that's more than acceptable. Once everything is settled out, I'll take Nathan to his eagerly awaiting hosts."

The chauffer looked at Se'sa with a smile upon his face and the placard he had been holding with her name upon it thrusted down to his right side while the other hand was idle. "...Welcome to Aresium, Se'sa. I'll take you to your host family; hopefully you'll have a pleasant time. Your host family is not in Laches, however, as your host family is in the city of Lysis which is some time away but, thankfully, we have a sturdy vehicle that will get you there. I do hope you can manage well."
The chauffer led Se'sa to what looked like one of those utility vehicles that could go across long distances. He helped his Fegosian ward into the vehicle and then got inside and, activating it, soon sped off into the streets heading to the highway which would take them both to Lysis which was about three hours or so out of Laches. The highway revealed few cars passing through and a lovely rural landscape under a beautiful natural aura. The chauffer had pointed out various buildings back in Laches and, indeed, had pointed out that Lysis was a lovely place as was Laches and that her host family could take her to Laches at her leisure and, of course, at their own. It did not take too long, in the end, for them to get into Lysis. It was a large city, not as large as Laches, but still large enough to captivate you. There were temples of the Greco-Roman style and plenty of other buildings as well. Eventually, after some sightseeing and driving, Se'sa and the chauffer got to the humble house of the host family; it was in a row of houses that would remind one of a neighbourhood from Britain. The chauffer knocked on the door and, when it opened, it revealed a middle aged woman with a smile upon her face. She looked gorgeous, the chauffer thought to himself, even though he knew she was married. The woman looked down at Se'sa and smiled. "....This must be the foreign student! Come on in!"
The chauffer smiled as he watched Se'sa being taken in by the enthusiastic housewife who immediately rushed to provide her with an introduction: "....You may call me Mrs. Tauris, Se'sa. Everyone else is at work and school so, until then, we'll have to be alone together which will be good....it will give us ladies a chance to learn from one another in quiet discussion."
Mrs. Tauris smiled. "....If you would like to accompany me on a walk around the neighborhood, I'd be more than glad to show you around. I was just going to check up on buying some extra food and I believe you'd be interested in coming so you can get a look around, right?"

"Thank you" Nathan said to the chauffer, before turning to Daniels "Is there anything else, Sir?"
"I don't think so" Daniels replied, scratching his chin, an air of thoughtfulness about him "No, I was just sent to make sure you got here alright"
"Right, well, i'd better get going then" Nathan said to him. He gave a stiff salute to the Lieutenant, who gave a rather weak one in return before heading back to the jet, leaving Nathan with the chauffer.

Dietrich's private jet landed at the airport after a 10-hour flight. He was tired, and he had let himself believe that his hostfamily would be aristocrats like him and he was anxious to meet them. After dealing with the customs formalities, he started looking through the crowd to find the sign with his name on it from among the dozens of others.
The chauffer that would escort Makiko to her host family sat in silence waiting for her to arrive with his hands occassionally holding up the placard with her name on it so she knew he was her escort and not a pervert or something like that. Everyone knew that, in Aresium, such people were hunted down without relent. He sighed as he waited even though he didn't have to drive too long since Makiko's hosts lived in Laches. Thank God, he thought, he was spared the possible hardship of navigating his way through highways. When Makiko finally came into visibility, he rushed to her in a chivalrous manner and gave her a smile, a hearty laugh, and a kind welcome to the Republic of Aresium. "....I hope you enjoy your stay!"
The chauffer got Makiko into the vehicle and then sped off into the streets of Laches as he pointed out various buildings and landmarks that Makiko could consider visiting during her stay in Aresium such as the National Theatre House where one could see all sorts of comedies and tragedies performed by elite actors and actresses from various troupes all over the nation or the mansions owned by Philomena Kosseri and the associates with which she ruled. The headquarters of the Council of Guardians and other agencies could also be seen if Makiko looked. The chauffer eventually found the modest home of Makiko's host family: the home of a dentist, his caring wife, and his son. He also had a daughter but she was in Motokata at the time. Since the wife was out with friends, his son was at school, and since he had took time off work today to take care of Makiko, Mr. Menexenus waited for Makiko's arrival by flipping through the channels on his television until he had found a show he was interested in watching for more than five minutes. He soon heard the knocking of the chauffer and, with a smile, opened the door to greet Makiko and welcome her into his humble abode which was decorated with family portraits and trinkets such as miniature statues and snow globes with little animals and people inside. There were some old newspapers lying around with headlines of various kinds and some papers that obviously had to do with the little dentistry business that Mr. Menexenus owned. A portrait of him with his colleagues was hanging proudly on the wall. "....Welcome, Makiko, to my family's home. Everyone is out at the moment so it is just us. Follow me and I will show you to your room. Thank goodness that we have a spare room for you."

Eri's chauffer was busying himself with reading some discarded newspaper that he found with an article on Iris Buzyges, one of Aresium's best known pop artists. He would, occassionally, avert his eyes from the articles merely to do brief scans of his surroundings in case Eri had arrived. When she did arrive, in the end, he threw away the newspaper and rushed to greet her with a smile and the welcome that the chauffers seemed to repeat amongst themselves and to their wards. Eri was taken to a city in the north, Theages, where her host family was waiting for her arrival. It did not take too long for them to arrive in Theages where Eri could see its marvelous buildings which, in some cases, were retained from the Medieval Era. There were the temples of various sizes but of equal importance to the faithful and little small houses owned by elderly people who refused to be sent to the nursing homes which, at times, had to be purged by State officials when abuse was prevalent. Eri's host family lived in a modest house, amidst a row of others, and they were quite happy to finally be meeting her although only the host mother was there since her two girls and father were all out. The host mother was a gorgeous woman who was well known for volunteering around the neighborhood while her husband worked as one of the members of the neighbourhood watch. The two girls were studious and hard working and usually referred to as the adorable muses who lived in the midst of hospitable and generous people. However, they were, by their very nature, prime prey for the occassional pervert. Needless to say, the neighborhood would make sure Eri wouldn't be harmed. Mrs. Epinomis smiled at Eri as she welcomed her into her house which looked very tidy and well kept. Cute pictures of her daughters were in the guest bathroom as well as pictures of the family and friends. There were all sorts of stories that Mrs. Epinomis would recite to anyone who would listen but, thankful to God, the girls would, hopefully, would be spared from the indignity of listening to their parents tell people like Eri the embarassing anecdotes seen by their parents as loving testaments to their children or, rather, something to laugh about. ".....Your guest room is upstairs and to the right, Eri. I would come and show you but I'm quite bogged down with culinary matters.....I can't get away from my oven at the moment!"

"Thanks, I understand, I'm sure I'll find it." Eri said platonic. Eri made her way upstairs. She understood that her host was preoccupied and she didn't want to be rude, but somewhat deep inside she was already feeling homesick. Any time Eri came home she was given a big hug by her mother and warm smile. So far she wasn't getting the full welcome she was expecting either, everyone except the mother was out Eri snapped her self out of it, she had to be good and she couldn't let her emotions of homesickness get the best of her. She placed her bag on the bed of her new room and explored with her eyes. "What a nice little neighborhood."
Eri's family was more private they lived in the country for their solitude. She wasn't a farmer though, and this house was a much scaled down version of her own. She was excited though to try something new.
"Thank you, I will."

She smiled. "....Feel free to ask any questions you may have, Eri. I'm here to help you."

The plane from Lynion to Aresium had landed as its passengers had climbed out of the plane itself and into the airport. Among them was the student known as Edward Harbour from Lynion. He was just like every other teenager...just slightly different. He looked around as his eyes scanned for somebody from the school. He was by himself and unsure what to do. He ventured down to the main part of the airport as he collected what few belongings he had as he started for the main door. He didn't mind the walk, but he was sure there was somebody from the school looking for students.

".....I've made these ones just for you; the rest are for others. Just tell me if you need anything. For the record, you need sweets, right? Could you tell me about that; I know about it, yes, but I just want to make sure what I heard is, well, accurate."
"great start to this nation where the dosib my ride" said Pat as he look around before heading over to a cafe for a drink
"this is bullshit ,could be back home working then sitting around doing jack shit' Pat wassaying to himself once he got his drink as he waits by a wall

The chauffer that Pat was given had, unfortunately, some problems in the washroom which required immediate attention along with assistance from the security officers so Pat had been delayed. He could see that the chauffer was shouting, sternly, at some people before rushing to deliver the welcome he intended for the Imperial student he unwittingly had annoyed with his unintentional lateness. "....You must be Pat. Forgive me for being late but I had ran into some problems so, unfortunately, I was delayed. Now, your host family is waiting for you."
The chauffer sighed before he took Pat into his vehicle; immediately speeding off towards one of the many neighborhoods of Laches where the host family was waiting for Pat to arrive. The Trikala family was a well to do and modest family that lived in peace in the city of Laches. There was Mr. Trikala who was the leader of the Neighborhood Watch and a businessman. His wife, the lovely Mrs. Trikala worked as a stay at home mother and volunteer while their two children lived with them. The oldest child, a son named Atreus, was about the same age as Pat while the next child, Iphigeneia, was about fourteen but looked just a tad older than that. All four of them welcomed Pat into their home with jubilation. It was Mrs. Trikala, the buxom and pregnant wife, who showed him around. ".....If you would like, you could look around town. I was going to buy groceries....perhaps you could come with?"

"Right, well, i'd better get going then" Nathan said to him. He gave a stiff salute to the Lieutenant, who gave a rather weak one in return before heading back to the jet, leaving Nathan with the chauffer.
The chauffer smiled at Nathan before leading him to the dormant vehicle waiting outside for them. "....Your host family lives right here in Laches, Nathan, and they are waiting for you to arrive so we best get going to them. According to my knowledge, the host father is an accountant and the host mother is a nurse. They also have kids so you'll make some new friends in an instant."
OOC: Moving on to when he arrives........By the way, school for ALL students will start soon. I suggest RPing them all getting to sleep soon....it'll be a busy day for each of them.
Nathan had been sent to live with Mr and Mrs. Pherecydes and their two lovely daughters in a modest neighbourhood in Laches. The family had already seen their oldest child, a son, head off to college so Nathan's presence would remind them of that son. Nathan's arrival at their house was marked with jubilation. Mr. Pherecydes threw away his accounting materials to give Nathan a firm handshake and a hearty laugh while Mrs. Pherecydes swooshed down from the kitchen to deliver a smile before rushing back to continue with making dinner and the two daughters, after introducing themselves as Hera and Antigone, would each show Nathan around the house with equal celebration. The oldest, Hera, looked absolutely stunning that day; a typical Aresian beauty had volunteered to take Nathan out for a walk around town. She smiled, flashing off her shiny teeth, as she took Nathan outside after he had been shown his guest room. "....Let's go to the school, Nathan. It would be best if you knew where it was so you don't get all nervous tomorrow!"
"so what there for me to do when i'am off duty in this town that you can show me"asked Pat still with his backpack on his back as he look at her

He didn't mind the walk, but he was sure there was somebody from the school looking for students.
There was one chauffer left and he had been pacing the grounds of the airport while occassionally holding up the sign for his particular student in case he finally arrived. When he did arrive, he rushed to Edward, gave him the usual welcome, and told him to get immediately into his vehicle so they can get going to the host family's house in Laches. As it turns out, Edward's host family was a small family of three in a modest house. There was Mr. and Mrs. Finos with their thirteen year old daughter, Pandora, who showed Edward his guest room which, in fact, was her own. The house didn't have a guest room so Pandora had to share her room with Edward. Her parents didn't think that would be a problem nor did they accuse Edward of being possibly inclined to try anything with their little girl. Pandora looked at Edward as she showed him around her room. It was cozy and comfortable with brightly colored wallpaper and many trinkets. A poster of Iris Buzyges, a popular pop artist, hanged prominently on the wall.
".....School will probably be tomorrow, Edward, but I can take you there anyway if you want. I think it would be good because you'll know how to get there."

Hera took Nathan out of the house and walked, with him, down the swirling streets and past some innocent passersby until they reached the school which looked like any ordinary public school. The host father smirked. ".....Plenty of those are around, Pat. Just make sure you are old enough."
Mrs. Trikala got into the car with Pat and drove off towards the local grocery store where she would usually get the food and drinks that she required for the upkeep of the family she cherished. The rows were stocked with all sorts and kinds of goods and items and Mrs. Trikala had swiftly began to take what she wanted. She looked stunning that day and she wore maternity clothes as well which didn't diminish her looks. She told Pat all about the items she was purchasing and she snatched some chocolate cherries, a pack of them, for herself as a treat. "....Would you like anything, Pat? A pastry, perhaps?"

"Well I need to keep a limit to sweets but I need to keep my blood sugar up every hour. Carbohydrates and natural sugars you find in fruits and other things are what works best for me. If I don't I'm likely to pass out or even have seizures."
Se'sa sat quietly, taking in the words of the chauffeur and turning them over in her head, trying to derive all their meanings. She knew she had been staying in Lysis, but had not known the area, or even any idea of the climate. She took off the thick travelling tunic she had been wearing, letting the grey fabric patterned with black embroidery fall onto her seat. Underneath she was wearing a plain white t-shirt and rugged jeans, rougher clothes she was comfortable in. Rolling up the tunic and placing it in her smaller red daysack, she turned back to admiring the view of the area, though longing to experience it more than she was now: actually stand in the sunlight than sit behind closed doors.
Eventually, when she did arrive, she went through the same process of deciphering English, though by now she could understand fairly well what was being said, being prepared.
"Hello Ser'mi Tauris. I mean, Mrs Tauris. Gratefully putting down her luggage once she had stepped inside, she continued with her greeting that she had memorised, before adlibbing at the end.
"Thank you for letting me stay in your nice house. I am liking to see around the local area with you, because my legs need walk."
She blushed as she realised the disjointedness of what she had said, before continuing.
"Sorry, my English is not good. I hope there is no big problem."

Dietrich's chauffer rushed to the scene with the usual welcome and a smile before taking him to the dormant vehicle waiting outside that would take him to the family that would host his visit. They were local aristocrats, the chauffer pointed out, mentioning that they were a wealthy bunch who lived in some lavish mansion. The Epidaurus family, the chauffer said, were an affluential group of people. When they arrived at the Epidaurus family mansion, Dietrich was escorted inside by the chauffer before he left him all alone there to face the jubilation and welcome. Mr. Epidaurus smiled at Dietrich. He was a rugged and muscular man with a gorgeous wife and two children, a son and a daughter, who were ecstatic to have Dietrich in their house. ".....Welcome, Dietrich! How are you today? Would you like to see your guest room or, rather, would you like to see more of the town?"
"It's a nice place" he said, looking around at the buildings "What are the hours like?"
"....School starts around the early morning and ends around the third hour after the noon hour, Nathan. Don't worry about it though because I'll help you adapt to them. I think we can look around the town a bit if you want."

Mrs. Tauris smiled. "......If Ser'mi is a title you Fegosians often give to married women then you are free to use it during your visit, Se'sa. I don't think I'd mind. I'm happy to hear that you like my house and, yes, we can go for a walk. If you would follow me, Se'sa, we can get started. I'll take you to your school, first, so you know how to get there. It will take a while to walk there, though, but I think you will like it nonetheless."
"Nice place you have here," started Edward to Pandora. "You mind if you showed me where it was?"
Edward was looking through his bag as he found a photo frame with a picture in it. He also found his wallet as he stuffed it into his trousers as he watched the people around him.
Pandora smiled. ".....I can definately show you where it is! Just follow me! Also, if I could ask, who is in that photo there?"
Pandora took Edward out into the neighborhood and down the blocks to the school which had taken a while to get to by walking instead of using a car or some other method of transportation. The school was modest and didn't look too imposing on Pandora. After all, she was already a student there. It was closed, being the weekend and all, but the pair circumbulated, went around, the school as Pandora spoke about what life was like there. "....If you just stick by me, Edward, then you will get by here. Don't worry, though, if you don't as my friends will come to your aid as well."

Mrs. Menexenus smiled. "....Then we shall go around town. I believe my husband can drive us around. Don't worry about his car, Eri, it works wonderfully!"
The three got into the lavish car and Mr. Menexenus, the driver, sped off into the streets while Mrs. Menexenus pointed out various buildings and landmarks such as temples, libraries and community centers. "....If you want to go inside one of these places and look around, just ask."

The three got into the lavish car and Mr. Menexenus, the driver, sped off into the streets while Mrs. Menexenus pointed out various buildings and landmarks such as temples, libraries and community centers. "....If you want to go inside one of these places and look around, just ask."
"Wow they're all so amazing, you know I would love to draw some of these landmarks one day. I'm sure during my stay I can visit some."
"....I've notified the school about that and I've made sure everyone in this family remembers such invaluable information. I think you'll have these sweets for now and then wait a while. I suppose that you are an artist with that sketch book? I'm sure you can do some pretty good sketches of things here in Aresium."
"Well I'm okay, I'm nothing special. Not like a friend of mine, who's also in the program here. Now she's really good, not only at drawing but at digital art and digital painting. I think she's going to be an anime artist someday, she's got the talent for it. I'm a free hand-sketcher, but not likely to go into drawing as my carrer. He came out only with his backpack as he silently went down to the main area. He covered his limbs with trousers and a jacket as he passed by every day normal citizens of the fair country. At first he thought his father wanted to get rid of him for awhile, that was before he realised his father only wanted to give him an education.
'Just be calm,' he thought to himself as he collected the last bit of luggage he bought with him as he passed through customs. 'Now, to find the person that's meant to pick me up,'
All he wanted to do was to find the person that was meant to pick him up as he passed through the last parts of the airport.
Se'sa continued following the woman, trying to make an opinion of the new school and of her hostess. The school definitely looked good from the outside, though she had little idea of what it would be like in the inside. The school she had been to in Alfegos, translated as the "Neo'Delgi National Academy for Girls", was about the same size as the site she could see here, though she doubted it would be like the school in her homeland: all classrooms linked up to the school and the government WAN, with spacious rooms for the classes of 32 students. The culture would likely be different here as well: whilst her school had large communal periods for lunch, consisting mostly of local fruits and rootbread, this school would likely as not be completely different. And whereas she was used to the vibrant rainforests of her country, this place would likely be completely different.
She followed on with Ser'mi Tauris to see the town they were in: Lysis she could remember. Lae'ses... the Fegosian for Soy Beans. She'd have to be careful if writing back home not to get the symbols mixed up.

Unlike her mother, Princess Caroline was “born to the purple,” a child who was born into her station in the still fledgling Romandeosian Imperial Family. As such she had known a lot of rich, powerful, well to do people already. Being in the presence of a wealthy family like the one in whose company she would be staying in the Platonic Republic was normal in her eyes, though still just a bit intimidating. Overall, she viewed the experience like the immense opportunity it was. She could meet all sorts of interesting people, make contacts in a foreign country as well as friends, and mainly, have a really good time.
Menelaus Pandareus was plainly a very vibrant, and high spirited, man. Caroline couldn’t help but smile just slightly as she took his hand. Being of the Imperial Family, she wore a light gold band on her right hand ring finger, a status symbol. It was Taunja’s idea, really.
It sure as Hell beat a damn coronet, though she did have one of those. She had to fight the impulse to grimace as she thought about the heavy thing, which made her neck feel like it had a full thousand pounds resting on it when she wore it.
“Mr. Pandareus,” she said, as they stood “This room will do perfectly. I am not some brat liable to whine if everything is not entirely to my preferences. Also, I think I would enjoy having a look around, if it really wouldn’t inconvenience you. The view from outside was impressive, and, were I a betting girl I would say the inside probably matches.”
Before they had gone very far, Caroline turned to the ex-monarch, smiling wider this time in a genuine display of open friendliness. Her words were spoken directly, but in a tone to indicate a genuine, polite request.
“By the way, would you be so kind as to call me Caroline? I could have difficulties fitting in here, if you insist on calling me ‘Your Highness’ constantly.”

Menelaus smiled. "....I am very glad to hear that you are pleased with your room and it would not inconvenience me at all to show you around my humble abode. If you would only follow me....."

Jaxson looked around as he wondered what to do. Would he fly back home without a ticket? No, he was going to wait another five hours before he thought about what to do next.
She followed on with Ser'mi Tauris to see the town they were in: Lysis she could remember. Lae'ses... the Fegosian for Soy Beans. She'd have to be careful if writing back home not to get the symbols mixed up.
The city of Lysis was filled with all sorts of marvelous buildings and statues that showed off in inanimate pride the beloved history of the Aresian nation and its citizens and there were people walking to and fro from cafes and bookstores. It was a truly bustling city with millions of people calling it their humble abode. Ser'mi Tauris took Se'sa into one of the cafes and offered to purchase her some local food since she suspected her Fegosian ward may be a tad peckish. "....Do you want something light to snack on?"
Jaxson looked around as he wondered what to do. Would he fly back home without a ticket? No, he was going to wait another five hours before he thought about what to do next.
The chauffer for Jaxson rushed to the scene with a swift welcome and a hasty escort to the dormant vehicle waiting outside which would take him to the host family awaiting his arrival in one of the many parts of Laches which stood proudly as the capital of the Republic. The chauffer told Jaxson that his host family lived in a modest little house and that his host father owned a little general store which he managed with his wife. The chauffer drove to the general store because that is where the host family, husband with a wife and one daughter, were at the time. The general store sold all sorts of toys and trinkets and it had letters on the windows that spelled out the store's name and the surname of the family that owned it: Lapithes.
Mr. Lapithes was standing behind the counter while his wife and daughter were busy making sure the inventory was in one piece. His eyes immediately threw themselves onto Jaxson when he entered the store and he was given a swift welcome. "....You must be the foreign student; it's a pleasure to meet you. This is not our home, mind you, but the store we run in our spare time. Please, take a look around. My daughter, Penelope, will guide you."
Penelope rushed to the scene with an aura of adorableness around her sturdy but frail looking frame; she was in a little green dress with black buckled shoes, long socks, and her hair was let down. "....It's nice to meet you. I'll show you around. I help my parents here from time to time. By the way, you come from Northam-York, right? What is it like there?"

Humility wasn't one of Dietrich's virtues. Even though the Epidaurus family was a wealthy one, he thought their wealth was nothing compared to that of his family's. "No slaves... What pitiful bunch of people." he thought to himself. Although he wasn't at all impressed, he kept it to himself, as he didn't want to cause further shame for his father; because of his prosthetic leg he wouldn't be accepted into the military academy. Dawn of a new... School Day for Jaxson!
Jaxson was looking up from his bed as he started to ponder the days when he was back in Northam-York. He blinked a couple of times as he realised he hadn't covered his cybernetic limbs.
'I wonder what's school like?" Jaxson thought to himself as he got ready for school.
OOC: For Makiko. By the way, if you want your students to see a NPC they want to go out with or whatever, be my guest in having them introduce themselves to the NPC.
Before the foreign student exchange program's conception, there had never been any non white students in the schools of the Republic of Aresium because it was universially acknowledged that every single Aresian was white skinned and that the Republic was a pretty homogenous nation despite the existence of a small Dutch community which spoke a unique dialect of their mother tongue. The Motokatan girls, when they arrived, recieved a mixed treatment with some condemning their presence whilst others accepted them as sisters of the world community based on their intrepretation of Platonic wisdom. Makiko's school was pretty much home to this sort of mixed treatment but it seemed that positive treatment would prevail. The class schedule had been given to her in a Motokatan language version and it listed all sorts of classes such as History class in which the teacher would explain to her everything about how Aresium became the fully white nation it was today or how there were people who still wore Ancient Greek clothes on the streets while there was the teacher in Literature class who taught his students about centuries of Aresian literature from classical philosophers to modern novelists. As Makiko walked down the halls after being rescued by Pat, she was intercepted by a teacher who sensed her inability to find the correct class. The teacher, a buxom woman, smiled and pointed Makiko into History class where Parmenides Archytas had been unpacking his suitcase of notes. He was a handsome man, possibly enough to make Makiko like him, and he looked quite content. The students were slowly going into his class and the teacher hurried Makiko into the room where Mr. Archytas welcomed her with a smile. ".....You must be Makiko. Please sit down; once the entirety of the class is present, you will introduce yourself to them."
Eri was pretty much in the same predicament, a tad lost and nervous on her first day. Hopefully she wouldn't be late. "Oh I forgot." She synced her watch to beep at the hour to remind her to snack a little, it would be rather embarrassing for her to pass out on the first day.
Eri's school was the same as Makiko's school but with just different teachers and students as one would expect. There was no different cirriculum because all Aresian schools are given only one cirriculum for use in classes and deviations are rejected by the educational authorities who regulate teaching material. The cirriculum would not be changed even for the foreign students who would be inevitably bogged down in the same work as their Aresian counterparts were working on. Eri was given a class schedule and was told that her first class was Literature class with Mr. Pythagoras Laërtius who had recently started teaching his students about the Roman orators whose works were imported into Aresium and how some Aresians had Roman blood including members of the former Royal Family who never ceased to claim descent from Caligula. Once Eri had been put in the right class, Mr. Laertius stood in front of his desk with a map of the Republic behind him. The walls were adorned with pictures and notes from various students and a bust of Rousseau (was it him?) stood dormantly near one of the windows. ".....Greetings, class. I believe that we have a new student here today; Eri, why don't you come up and introduce yourself?"

Pandora called out from the bathroom. ".....I'm in here, Edward! Please wait! I won't take much longer!"
Penelope found Jaxson and smiled at him. "....We should get going, Jaxson. Don't worry about getting lost at school because I will be there for you as your guide!"
"Christian terrorists. Almost every aristocratic family in my country has a history of militarism... And yes, I did want to join the academy. I guess I'll have to be a priest..."
"....There aren't many Christians who live here in Aresium but they don't cause any trouble; I'm sorry to hear about your losses, Dietrich, but at least you have your health and at least you can still walk. Better to focus on what is good more so than what is not. Do you really have to be a priest? A priest of which deity?"
"Hey, when we're going?" called out Edward as he got himself ready for school.

Jaxson looked around as he picked up his bag and waited to go.
"I think we should get going soon, so we're not late for school," started Jaxson. "And don't worry about me, I can look after myself,"
"Hey, when we're going?" called out Edward as he got himself ready for school.
"....As soon as I'm done and after breakfast!"
Jaxson looked around as he picked up his bag and waited to go.
"I think we should get going soon, so we're not late for school," started Jaxson. "And don't worry about me, I can look after myself,"
Penelope smiled. "Of course, Jaxson, let's get going.....but you do want breakfast, right?"
"Sure," replied Edward as he tied his shoelaces for a moment while he waited for her to join him.

After her class Eri had an Independent study period before lunch, so she retreated to the library, however she fell asleep, with all the excitement of arrival and anticipation of school, she barley slept through the night, when she awoke her watch was beeping, it was time for her to eat. Murphy's Law has it that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. As she searched around her in her bag for food, nothing. She searched her pockets, nothing no money or anything, she realized she left her cash to buy food on her night table at her host home. She stood up and began making her way down the halls. Eri also could hardly eat any breakfast, when she was excited she seldom felt hungry, but that was hours ago, with out anything since then things were going terribly wrong already on her first day. Soon things began looking blurred as she limped down the hall soon blank! Eri fell to the floor passed out....
Meanwhile Makiko had finished her own lunch and was ready move to her next class, she came upon the passed out Eri. "Oh my! You okay? Hello?!" Makiko tried her best to awaken Eri but she wouldn't come to. Her breathing was shallow but there. "Help?! Help! Hello?! I need help!"

Edward: Pandora had come out of the bathroom with her hair somewhat wet from the time she spent making it all look nice for school and she looked quite happy and adorable that moment. Breakfast was a quick affair as was getting to the school where they would both be educated. It was a modest school with plenty of murals including one depicting Spartan hoplites marching into the foray of battle against their enemies. It was a universally accepted fact that people such as Pandora had the blood of Spartans and other Ancient Greeks circulating within them and that many Aresians took pride in their Greek heritage with the creation of murals and scupltures which adorned buildings and parks all over the nation. Edward was given his class schedule which stated that his first class of the day was to be Pandora's history class where the teacher had started a unit on the life of Cleomenes who had founded Aresium and became its sovereign lord with his Amazon wife becoming a queen. Every Aresian knew who Cleomenes and his wife, Adara of Themiskyra were. The teacher was a middle aged man who came into the room rather stoically after a while with the students all acknowledging his presence with silent reverence. It did not take long for him to look straight at Edward. "......You must be the foreign student. Why don't you introduce yourself to the class?"
Makiko: As Makiko rushed around in the school in a frantic search for the nurses' office, she had accidentally bumped into what appeared to be a handsome young man but there was no time for love although he seemed to stop her straight in her tracks with his hands and a soft smile. Once he had learned of her predicament and how she was wanting to find the nurses' office, he led her straight there and helped arrange the medical team of nurses to go out and help Eri as swiftly as was humanely possible although their speed made them more than human. A stretcher was pulled out by the nurses for Eri to be put on. Whilst Eri was being sent away to the nurses' quarters, the young man looked at Makiko. "....She will be alright. The nurses here are passionate about their work. Have faith in them."

"I don't eat much," replied Jaxson as he packed his bag before he took out his flask and drank a small dose of it before he went down to the dinning room and waited for Penelope to join him.
