Name: L'Tulshar d'lil Ilythiiri
Race: The Ilythiiri or Drow as they are also known are a cruel and vicious subterranean offshoot of elves. They often have dark skin, pale hair and red, yellow or bright grey eyes. Like all elves they are tall and slim. Compared to many elvan species they breed quite quickly,
Population: Approximately 3 million
Society and Government: Ilythiiri society is known for its cruelty and violence but the myths about being able to be knifed in the street and no one caring only applies to other races which are not owned by someone (ie foreigners). The misconception grows from the brutality of the aristocracy when dealing with each other. Assassination attempts, assaults and outright battles have been known to occur between Houses in the streets and organizations such as the Velg'larns Her'tan, a licensed assassins Guild or the Onhir d'Venoch, Onhir d'Xonathull and Onhir d'Vlos, all violent cults allowed to operate within L’Tulshar.
The Houses or Qu’ellar which were mentioned previously are aristocratic families which own territories, structures and rule those as they please. Often they are in political and sometimes martial conflict with each other which causes a constant shift of their control zones. Some Qu’ellar only control small districts in one of the minor cities while others control an entire city as their base of operations while maintaining holdings in others.
Most powerful of the Houses is the Valsharen Qu’ellar Auvryndar, the Imperial House. Though many smaller houses will battle with the Auvryndar through politics they will never openly oppose them due to the fact they are sponsored by the primary religion of L’Tulshar and control the Central Citadel, the central support tower of any Ilythiiri City. The Auvryndar also receive taxes from all the other Qu’ellar to maintain public sections of the city as well as the Imperial Army and major schooling institutions.
The average Ilythiiri is well educated and has sufficient funds to enjoy luxuries such as travel to other cities and viewing fights at the local arena due to a large reliance on slave labour to do tasks considered beneath the Ilythiiri.
Geography: The Ilythiiri’s nature means that they are capable of existing inside the boarders of other younger nations with the younger nations never having any actual indication unless they wish to make their presence known. The majority of their cities are under Anfalas however they have more around the Black Sea.
Religion: The Religion of the Ilythiiri is the worship of the Goddess Lolth and are devoted to her divine will. In their service of her the church is willing and permitted to do many things, including the summoning and binding of the Daemonic and other Dark Forces. The Religion is very important in society with the Imperial House being decided by the Temples.
Military: Both the Valsharen Qu’ellar and the other Qu’ellar have their own armed forces. They tend to favour a more mobile army with their heavily armoured units being few and far between.
