Massacre At Sesame Street

Macgruber
11-10-2008, 02:33
It has just turned 9 when the protested began. First there where 100 people marching for equal rights. That number quickly grew to 300 over the next thirty minutes and doubled in another thirty minutes. The march started at Michael street and was going to end at the parliament building in The nation's capital. but at noon when the crowd has reached Sesame street there numbers where in the thousands. The Macgruber government figured they has to assert there power before the whole nation started doing this. they sent hundreds of armed men to sesame street to kill every protester. The line of soldiers was only a dozen feet away from the protesters when one hippie called out " Move! We have rights to!". The line of troops stopped for a moment. they aimed there guns at the crowd and fired. The troops threw incendiary and fragmentation grenades deep into the now fleeing mob. Hundreds are killed within seconds. Two Apache gunships arrive and fired there missiles and Gatling cannon into the noticeably smaller crowd. The gunships left and the soldiers killed any wounded and returned back to base.
Over the next couple of hours the story and dozens of videos from the event was plastered over the international News.

The constant human rights abuses, massacres and support for such acts abroad on the part of the Macgruber government leads the Executive Council of Zinaire to think that, perhaps, your humble nation is in need of a regime change. Zinaire is slow to anger and slow to involve itself in matters which do not directly affect its own, but continued blatant disregard for human life and human rights could be a fatal mistake.

I understood, out of your news, that you just killed hundrets of man. Where did they protest for? For rights! You are a agressive, unfriendly nation. I want you to change, or your leader will find himself back in a grave, alive, with only a gun and 1 bullet. He can shoot himself, or he will die in pain. Understood? Now, find a better leader, and make sure THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN! Or feel the power of a armed army, understood?

The Phoenix Milita applauds Macgruber's swift and decisive action against insolent protesters. Whether mass protests are held for a specious cause like equal rights, or something more important like the price of movie tickets, mass protests do nothing but undermine the government and spread dissent among the people. And so while we agree with what you have done in principle, we must question the wisdom of the way you carried out these actions. If thinning the number of protesters was the only course of action, certainly you could have done it in a more subtle manner, or at least contained it better. We are worried that you would let so many videos and reports out of your country. We hope at least you are able to suppress this in your own country if nothing else. Otherwise we think you may have to assert your authority more often, and more severely next time.

"That sounds like an interesting toy, our closest equivalent at the time being are shells that spread toxic gas among enemy ranks, we could use one of those on these protesters if you'd like. The best part is that the gas slowly mixes with the air so that after 5 minutes, you could travel through without ill effects" said Madroe as he motioned for a tank that rolled out of the back of the plane. Council Chambers, Zinaire City

The Executive Council was in the middle of discussing increased tax cuts for domestic employers when there was a loud knock on the door. The huissier hurried to answer it.

An army officer stood there, the hat for his dress uniform under his arm.

"Pardon the interruption, but something of interest has happened. If I may approach..."

Gregory Bishop motioned the officer towards the table. The soldier placed a PMP on the table and started the video of the flamethrower tank.

"This occurred around an hour ago." The officer said, "Just yesterday there was another massacre in the same nation. You sent them a warning personally, Councilor Bishop."

Gregory Bishop nodded solemnly at the conclusion of the video. "I would like to move to authorize limited military action in order to depose the current leader of...what is it?"

"Macgruber, sir." Said the solider.

"Yes. All in favor?"

Without hesitation, the five councilors raised their hands.

"Very well. Tell your superiors that action is authorized by the Executive Council. Also, have ZINNIA drum up some information on the leader."

The officer saluted then left the chamber.

I would like to offer my sincere apologies to you and your nation. I had been misinformed about the events leading up to your military's massacre of protestors. I had been originally told that there citizens were protesting recent environmental policies. However, I have recently been corrected and now that I know that they were actually seeking "equal rights", I fully support your actions. These protestors were no more than filthy anarchists looking to overthrow your government and to do anything but stamp them out could have resulted in nation-wide anarchy.

Therefore, as a sign of my support of your regime's policies and as a physical representation of my sincere apologies, I would like to offer you a company of Zinairian infantry, some of the finest in the world, to aid you in putting down any more dangerous anarchist uprisings.

.................that is....................WTF?

On July 14th, 1997, the Cuborg Health Department attempted to find a cure for cancer. After many deaths of test subjects, Tethradelta-hydroride-47 was invented. It was first used in 2008. Travis Starker, diagnosed with lung cancer, was chosen to try TH47, an experimental cure. The results were monstrous. Starker transformed into a large, scaled demonic monster, and was locked away in Sector 7G. The Cuborg military took control of the program, dubbed the creature 'The Titan', and has so far been unable to get an equal reaction to TH47. All later testes died

In all, 159 Zinairians were being shipped off the Macgruber. However, only 154 of them were in the army, and even they weren't who they said they were. The troops were posing as a standard infantry company (although, because of their mission, the weapons squads and platoon had been replaced with additional rifle units) but, in reality, they were members of the elite Tactical Operations Division– the Zinairian Army's primary special forces unit.

The additional five men were posing as an additional fireteam, but, in reality, they were a ZINNIA Special Activities Team. At their first opportunity, they would be breaking away from the other troops, changing out of their uniforms and commandeering a car. They would then set about trying to locate and assassinate Macrguber's leader.

Even the soldiers were doing their utmost to conceal their Zinairian identity. However they were not trying to hide it from Macgruber, they were trying to hide it from the rest of the world. If any journalists spotted Zinairian soldiers taking part in the massacre, it could be disastrous, so troops were under strict orders not to wear any identifying insignia. All vehicles had also been stripped of their roundels and symbols.

The vehicles had also been modified with special hidden weapon lockers. In the smaller MOWAG Eagle IVs, of which nine had been sent, there were five K28 rifles and an assortment of barrels and attachments. The larger VLT M6s contained nine K28s, a Barrett XM500 and a LAC.IV Verutum. An anti-tank, a fragmentation and an anti-material round for the Verutum was included. The Eagle which the ZINNIA operatives would use contained a PSG-1 and a Barrett in addition to the K28s.

Zinairian National Airbase

The three C-17 Globemaster IIIs which were transporting the troops and vehicles began their pass down the runway and within minutes, they were in the air, heading towards Macgruber.

With the radio turned off, the agents got down to planning.

As the van rolled up, some of the more junior soldiers began to fidget nervously. The Captain in charge of the entire observation made a quick speech in the back of one of the C-17s.

"There's nothing to worry about, the compartments are well-hidden. If the rifles are discovered, they are for taking out anarchists which may be hiding, planning an ambush. The RPGs are for destroying rebel barricades. If things go sour, under no condition are you to fight back unless you are in an enclosed, one-on-one environment. While we could kill everyone in that van with hardly any effort, it would jeopardize Zinaire as a whole. However, if we are martyred, Zinaire will be supported by our allies and other international powers and they will avenge our deaths one thousand-fold."

With the speech over, the cargo ramps on the planes were swung open and the soldiers filed out, standing at attention outside the three planes.

We are greatly displeased at this show of force against unarmed civilians. Further, video proof of these acts show that your response was incredibly disporportionate to whatever violence the crowd may have committed.

We demand that your government immedietly disband and step down from power, and that a new leadership be democraticly elected. Further, we demand that those responsible for ordering the hostilities against unarmed civilians be put on trial in a neutral court.

Prime Minister Brubbit sat in his office at the Capitol Building, examining a menu and trying to decide if he wanted to order pizza or a strombolli for lunch. Heaps of paperwork and files were piled up on his desk and it seemed like it would be another very long day.

A red telephone on the desk rang and he picked it up, "Yes?"

A secretary replied, "Prime Minister? General Hrup is on the line. He wants to discuss the situation with Macgruber."

"Put him on."

"Mister Prime Minister?"

"Go ahead."

"Sir, they have refused to even negotiate the replacement and arrest of those responsible for the massacre. They actually dared us to use military force."

"And you want clearance?"

"Yes sir. These violations of basic human rights, Blubbish or otherwise are unacceptable. Another smaller nation seems to have taken offense, but they are probably incapable of dealing with the situation effectively and cleanly."

The Prime Minister leaned back in his chair, his eyestalks peering up at the ceiling thoughtfully. "Very well then General. You have full action authority."

Azure Bay, Blubland

Azure Bay hosted Blubland's Northern Command, including its massive ports and shipyard network. Hundreds of ships were docked here at any time. When word arrived over the radios and comm systems, the Blubland Colonial Navy errupted with activity.

BCN Leyte was a massive Prince of Aralonia Class Super Fleet Monitor (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?showtopic=123&hl=) and named after the massive battle Blubland had fought with Hataria among the Leyte Islands. Out-numbered nearly 7 to 1, Blubland had fought a two-week engagement and brought the enemy to a standstill, forcing a negotiated end to the fighting.

BCN Leyte began to build up its engine powers, and slowly moved out of her berth. The blunt nose of the battleship turned towards the distant mouth of the bay and began to pick up speed. Lead by dozens of destroyers and cruisers and surrounded by even more smaller warships, Leyte was escorting a pair of Super Nimitz aircraft carriers and three Wasp Class Assault Ships.

Thousands of civilians gathered over time as the ships steamed out of the harbor. The civilians looked on proudly and silently, knowing that once again the mighty Colonial Navy was off to war. This time to defend the defenseless.

Open Sea

Rings of destroyers and cruisers protected the huge ships in the center of the formation as the carriers began their CAP operations. Under the protective blanket of Nemesis Air Defense Cruisers (http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/4720/nemesisddcf5.png), a dozen fighters supported by AWACs began a patrol around the fleet as it made its way north.

Official message to The Blub Colony: So you are taking military action. very well you have called this upon yourself. If you back down now you can save your BCN Leyte. I realize how expensive it is.

OOC:What are the fleets anti missile protection? What kind of missile protection does your country have?

At Purplehaze city the go ahead has been given on the launch of a LGM-30 Minuteman with high explosive warhead to be fired at the BCN Leyte. A fleet of F-22 raptors take off and begin flying towards the ships. There missile are in range is thirty minutes. (there weapon systems have a range of 1500 miles).

OOC: Before I reply to any of the IC stuff.

How do you know what my fleet is doing or where it's going? Or where it's at exactly, to try to specificly target it? Let alone why you have nukes, being a 2 month old nation.

My defense budget is 15.2 trillion. Information on my OOB can be found in my signature. Most of the equipment is clickable which takes you to links.

Annnd.. my nuclear/chemical/biological/thermic arsenal is highly classified. The same with my missile defense system. You wouldn't find any of that information without some IMPRESSIVE spy work.

OOC: There's no way that you'd hit a vessel at sea with an ICBM. Those weapons are designed to land within... a quarter mile or so of a fixed location, which is to be destroyed by the nuclear warhead transported by said missile. Personally, I'd edit that section out, because all you'd end up doing is wasting several very expensive missiles in a futile attempt to hit a moving target. Using conventional explosive warheads, not even nukes.

Outside of the airbase dozens of Humvee s pull into the airbase and order the crew to stand down. Hundreds of troops rush out of the building towards the planes. on the roof, dozens of snipers step up.

The operative, who naturally, wasn't actually of any relation to any of the councilors, screamed as he was hit in the jaw with a bullet. He drew the Diablo from his thigh holster and fired several shots at "Macgruber" and the assailant before collapsing in pain. His last words, before blacking out, were "these idiots don't even know how to take a prisoner."

The Captain, who had been shot once in the leg, hit the ground, partly out of conditioning and partly out of pain, and returned fire with his Diablo.

Outside, the Lieutenant in charge of the 1st Platoon was busy calculating his options. Even if they could get back into the Globemasters and into the air, they would probably be shot down by fighters. If they could get to their vehicles, they could access the heavier weapons inside and they would also be safe from sniper fire but they would be far from invincible. Finally, a surrender would most likely see them executed on the spot, but there was a chance they would be taken prisoner. Of course, they could try to talk their way out of it and pretend they had no idea what was going on, but that was a last resort.

Finally, the Lt. made his call and ordered everyone to talk cover. The troops hustled towards the M6s and Eagles arranged at the foot of the cargo ramps.

Taskforce 21, The Open Seas

The fleet continued to move along at a good clip. The Questers designed Battle FA.1 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13163696&postcount=5) carrying payloads of anti-air and anti-shipping/submarine munitions remained in a wide ring around the ships with support of AWACs.

Forward-deployed of the fleet by about five hundred miles was a single E-14C AWAC (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12804963&postcount=31) which flew only two hundred feet off the ground, effectively blending in with the RADAR clutter of islands and the wavetops while its own powerful ECM system swept the skies. As it turned out, Macgruber hadn't sent AWACs anyway, and the F-22s had to rely on their own RADARs.

The inbound pack of Macgruber F-22s were detected early and a satellite signal sent back to the task force. E-14A Multi-sensor Command and Control Aircraft (MSC2A) (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12804963&postcount=31) aircraft over the fleet vectored their Doppler systems in on the contacts, maintaining a joint C3 connection to the forward AWAC in an over-the-horizon mode and maintaining communications via satellite.

While the satellite communications were maintained, a jamming signal was broadcast, bringing a 'fuzz' to RADAR in the direction of the F-22s. And.. as Macgruber hadn't bothered to send any electronics warfare along for the ride, their F-22s would more than likely be blinded.

Somewhat west of Taskforce 21, a formation of brand new F-77 Zulu (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=568310) strike fighters, AeroBlub Industries' newest aircraft were just finishing ariel refueling. At a communication from the fleet, twenty of them broke off from the others and swept northwards. These stealthy aircraft had little to fear from anything in the skies with the RADAR jamming underway. Combined with their low-detection profiles and the electronic warfare, they would be lost in the static.

Still out-of-sight of the approaching F-22s, (Beyond the horizon) they went into supercruise mode. Drifting higher and higher, up to 18,000 meters elevation, they activated their laser-targetting guidance systems for the missiles under their wings. Then one by one.. they began to 'pickle' off their air-to-air payloads.

The AeroBlub Industries Improved Air to Air Ramjet Missiles streaked forward at better than Mach 5, screaming out of sight on firey trails of smoke. With a closing speed of about Mach 6.5 (F-22s tend to supercruise at about Mach 1.4) they followed their programmed flight paths of dropping down to 10,000 meters altitude and heading in the direction of the F-22s, which were still too far away to be seen at a range of 350 miles.

The 'eyes' of the missiles soon picked up on small lasers being beamed from the forward AWAC up towards the bellies of the F-22s. The AWAC painted the F-22s for the incoming IAARMs, which began to climb up to meet the F-22s. While still following the lasers, they activated a secondary failsafe IR tracking mode.

Locked on, 80 missiles thrust up towards the bellies of the F-22s.

With the F-22s total lack of defenses able to stop a laser beam, and the missiles' hard locks, it was very likely the Macgruber pilots would be completely exterminated, leaving Macgruber to wonder what had happened to their expensive little 'stealth' fighters.

The 'Macgruber' takes a shot in the head and the chest, he dies instantly. the attacker takes three shots in his chest. lucky he was wearing body armor and only cracked three ribs. He then aimed his gun at the Captain and fired at his head.

Outside the Humvee's 50 caliber machine guns begin firing at the planes (there are 10 of them.) the snipers fire toward the enemy and the ground based rocket soldiers fire there AT4 at the cargo bay.

Well not being able to stop your attack because you made it over 2000 miles in 30 seconds. All the planes blow up.

My military is very large (numbers unknown due to losses and recruiting number lately). We use modern/advanced weapons and vehicles. We also have a large nuclear and chemical arsenal, but you shouldn't worry your self with that unless you use any on use first. we have a missile sheild (Not a energy sheild).

ooc: sorry to butt in but your nation is just barely four months old. Three months is the minimum for RPing any nuclear arsenal (and that's just a basic bomber dropped hiroshima-type A-bomb) At most, you have inaccurate medium ranged sub-kiloton missles. Your nation is way too young yet to have any ballistic missile sheild. Sorry. :(

Also, any attack on Zinairian's homeland will bring Karshkovia in regardless of what you wish since he is a stringent ally of mine. Choose your nuking carefully.

Mac, I see much potential for you but I would recommend you review Cost of nuclear program for your nation - reference thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=542151). Unless your nation, via a reputed NS calcuator, can afford to spend a couple trillion dollars from your GDP on starting up and maintaining a nuclear program, you'd have to admit that nukes are out of your reach for now.

Also, the thread covering The Effects of Genocide/Mass Murder on Your Nation (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=431658) from our friendly moderator is a good thing to look at concidering it just happened in your nation.

If you want to kill large numbers of people who live with the rest of your populace, there will be reprocussions. People dont like seeing their friends / neighbours / schoolmates being dragged off and shot, and when they know someone personally they're unlikely to believe your media, especially as you are so blatant about what has happened.

If you want to run a country, even a dictatorship, you need support. The army, the lower administrators and the general public are all people. People do not generally like to see others murdered. If you dont try to cover up what you've done (as dictators like Hitler and Mugabe do in real life) or at least restrict your killing sprees to occassional isolated incidents which you keep fairly low-key media wise, then your nation will, in the end, destabilise. It may take decades, but it will happen evenutally, and probably when you least want it to - when you're at war, or when your nation is doing badly on the international scene and people are losing faith in your Government.

Taskforce 21, 500 miles offshore Macgruber

BCN Leyte

Admiral Grun stood in the CIC of Leyte, squinting down at a table with a realtime display of the region. His taskforce formed a tactically spread out cluster of blips in blue, while civilian air traffic and shipping were marked with either green for confirmed or yellow for unconfirmed. Intelligence satellites swept the Macgruber shores and inlands, which caused the display to mark a new red information note every few minutes as the information was downloaded. Intelligence specialists and planners were also gathered around, working either at the table or at computers in the CIC.

A Brigadier General wearing the uniform of the Colonial Marines stood across from him. General Hupp squinted down at the display with his eyestalks, occasionally hitting some buttons or bringing up menues with one tentacle as he examined the situation. "Damn, those Air Force boys whipped their Raptors good. I guess the Zulu is really living up to its reputation. Have they sent anything else at us since?"

The Admiral glanced up, "No, General. They got a very bloody nose by rushing in without proper support. I imagine they'll hang back a little longer and maybe try to coordinate with their allies. I expect they'll try to hit us as we close in on their beaches. Once they realize they can't possibly stop a full-scale attack on the beaches, they'll likely fall back further inland."

An aide looked up and cleared his throat, "Excuse me, Admiral but why can't they stop us on the beach?"

The Admiral looked to General Hupp who shook his head slowly at the youngster. He spoke quietly, "Son, do you know what it takes to fully secure hundreds of miles of vulnerable beach? Especially with Macgruber's budget. They're still a small nation, they don't HAVE the sort of assets needed to do it. Look at it like this:"

The General pointed to the map displaying Macgruber's coastline, "They're going to be spread all along here in a thin ass line. For some reason, people always do that. We only need to land enough troops and equipment in one spot to gain a beachead."

The aide looked at where the General was pointing, "It'll be dangerous."

"War is always dangerous, son. But in this day and age you simply CAN'T hope to fully stop a beachead. When has a defender ever stopped a determined enemy from landing? From Troy, to Gallipoli, from Normandy to Iwo Jima, troops were able to establish beacheads."

50 miles from Taskforce 21

A Coast Guard Marlin GMCIII (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13518861&postcount=40) assigned to the taskforce shadowed a large civilian cargo ship. The ship was being carefully examined visually and with other light spectrums. Overhead, a SH-20B Seacat looked down on the cargo ship.

Onboard, a radio operator looked to the Captain, "Cap'n, Seacat One reports there is nothing out of the ordinary. This one is clear."

The Marlin turned away, speeding off to intercept another unconfirmed civilian ship. All over the region, other corvettes were doing the same.

Back at the main Taskforce, a yellow marker on the map went green.

300 miles from Macgruber

Ahead of the main fleet, a skirmish line of Type 7 Aviso (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=542256) corvettes were slowly manuvering towards the Macgruber coastline. Dozens of helicopters were dipping sensitive listening and scanning equipment into the seas, searching for submarines and mines. Effectively clearing a path for the fleet.

RIBs zipped back and forth with Blubs in orange life vests and military uniforms inside, searching visually with powerful binoculars for signs of ships on the horizon, in the very, very slim chance that Macgruber had somehow evaded the multiple levels of AWAC and Intelligence Gathering assets.

In the air

Escorted by both F-77 Zulu and F-28D Green Eagle fighter/strike configured aircraft, E-14B ESA (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12804963&postcount=31) aircraft were busy scouring the Macgruber shoreline from approximately 250 miles out, and 15,000 meters altitude. Waiting in a wolf trap, hidden in the blur of RADAR jamming cast by an E-10 Guardian at 3,000 meters above, were a pack of Nemesis Cruisers (http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/4720/nemesisddcf5.png) waiting to take out any aircraft in the area that tried to step out and challenge the Colonial Navy's presence offshore.

The Colonial Navy was still on its way..
