A very short young man, no, A middle age dwarf rounded a corner, hi armoured boots clanging against the stony ground
“Back to the keep!” he yelled, as he sprinted as fast as his stubby little legs could carrying him, someone would find this comical, a short man in enough armour to weigh down a elephant running for his life towards the large gates of the city keep.
“Master Tolgrin!” a young voice cried out from the stoneworks of the keep, “Hurry! Quick, there behind you someone help him!” cried the voice again as the tall skinny figure ran from post to post looking for help.
Tolgrin ran for all he was worth, he was dimly aware of his apprentice, no his son, that’s what he thought of him now calling out to him when he heard a feral roar.
“Tolgrin!” the voice cried again, as he felt something pierce his shoulder armour, but luckily deflected
“Just…a. few…more…meters” he panted red-faced now something grabbed at his leg, he turned and stumbled backwards just twenty odd meters from the gate
“How did the dam orcs get so fast” he thought as he tried to free his leg from the things grip.
“Uuuroag!” it yelled as it took a swipe at him with a crude sword
Bringing his axe up too his face, Tolgrin deflected the swipe, roaring in fury the beast continued its clumsy assaults as Tolgrin began to back peddle, He was tiring out fast, dwarves were not made for running, preferring to duke it out on the defensive rather then launch an attack themselves,.
Clang Clang clutter bang, went his double bladed axe as it was knocked out of his hands, falling to the ground Tolgrin fell forwards onto his knees, Tolgrin muttered a few words as he slid into unconscious ness from the Orcs last hit
“stay…back…Holin”
A few dwarfs rushed out of the gates towards the Orc, yelling war cries and brandishing very large and sharp axes and swords, the Orc being smarter then some beat a hasty retreat running back down to the now partly aflame docks, with Tolgrin on his shoulder, chucking the limp body of the dwarf into the holds of the Orcy vessel, along with many other dwarf prisoners he yelled at the littler orcs under his command and began to cast off and head home while the rest of them pillaged and burned, he had a cargo hold full of slaves, he was a happy orc.
A few days later
Pillars of smoke rose from parts of the ruined port, as teams of dwarfs went picking through the ruins, estimates tallied at about forty dead or captured and another fifty defiantly dead, estimates in cost were light as the Orcs only set fire to a few parts of the dock, it was easily contained.
Inside a chamber of sorts, within the city
“how could you let them take him! don’t you have any honour!” Holin cried out, as he argued with a Dwarf Captain
“You are not one to talk about honour HUMAN, you are only here because of Tolgrin, you are not a follower of the Earth father, why should I help you, your parents abandoned you to us, so don’t speak about honour as if you know it.” the Captain retorted coldly, as he eyed the tall human.
Holin dive tackled the Dwarf and began to pummel his chest, and face with all his might, they wrestled around as the two fought
“Enough” a clear voice said, as a old withered dwarf stepped out of a room “Holin, is here because I let him be here, do you question the wisdom, and orders of me?” he asked the captain, staring at the veteran dwarfs eyes
“No lord Grium, I am not” he replied look at the floor as the two stood up “But this Boy, dare to challenge my honor! For not saving his.. For not saving Tolgrin, He is as good as dead now, and I recommend we throw the kid out.”
“No, you will not do that, you will do quite the opposite Halfard, You and Holin are going to rescue Tolgrin, son of Balgrin heir to our Family, or do you doubt his blood lines”
“N.no.. my lord, I am sorry” Halfard said bitterly
“Good, you two will take a ship and a cohort of fourty Dwarfs and all the provisions you need, you will sail down to the region near Silver fall, look for people who know the Orc tribes, hire them, and find Tolgrin.”
“Yes my lord” Halfard, and Holin said while looking at each other coldly
“Thank you my lord” said Holin as he bowed and left the room, ducking under the door.
Weeks later, somewhere in the waters of Silverfall.
A Dwarfven Turtle ship casually headed towards a port, the oars were out and not rowing that fast, while the wind lazily pushed them along to there destination..
Ooc: basically, im looking for mercenaries of any kingdom guides etc guards to help me find Tolgrin! Also, having someone Rping the Orcs who kidnapped him would be nice be it Thrasia or anyone..maybe even it be the sneaky goblins but I don’t know.. So yea, feel free to join No killing of Holin or Tolgrin! Please, you may try but chances are you will fail.
