Emerging from the shadow (FT-INTRO, OPEN)

The Shadow Species
05-10-2008, 11:53
Somewhere near the western edge of the Varian Galaxy

A fairly large ship (http://bagera3005.deviantart.com/art/Eleanor-space-carrier-80477027) moved rapidly thrugh the empty void of space, leaving a faint golden trail from its engines. Eventualy it began to slow down, its engines going from a bright flare of gold to a dull yellow pulse, drifting almost exactly to its prearanged co-ordinates.

"Alright, lets get to buissness" called the hunter in comand of the ship
"Yes sir" relyed the Swii maning the comm station in a human sized+ shaped exo suit, opening a general long-range comunication "Transmiting now"
"This is the Shadow Species vessle Goliath , transmiting on all frequencys to any sentient life. The Shadow Species Alliance is looking to meet new people and request guidence in how to 'cement the cracks' in our union. Please come to the attacheched co-ordinates,if you wish we can begin diplomatic relations, from alliance to trade."
The hunter nodded to the Swii and the transmition was sent with the position of the ship attached. "And now we wait.."

"Sir, signatures detected."
"What kind, pirates? Unidentified?"
"Unidentified, sir."
"Very well, warp us in." The heavy cruiser slowly turned, then shot into a newly torn rip in space, appearing with a green flash.

Unidentified craft, this is the VTN Yersinia pestis. You are near Templarian Soverig Territory, state your intentions and designations.

SSV Goliath

We are un-interested in diplomatic relations but We do have a business proposition for you. If you would like to discuss this matter further please meet us at the co-ordinates attached. We will be there for a period of one week, if you are curious and would like further information arrive before then, otherwise we'll assume that you are not interested.

Thank you.

The message was broadcast in audio, a metalic almost synthetic voice talked to them and cut off before anyone could reply, further attempts at communication using that frequency or any other would fail. There were obviously attempting to remain secretive, the only question that remains is why?

OOC: That's fine, not sure if you have any other ship that you can send... if not then perhaps I can bring something in a bit later. Let me know via TG and we can work something out.

"New life, eh?" The captain smiled to himself. "Best example of life I can think of."

Goliath, welcome. I am Captain Astaldo, and I shall serve as Envoy for the Void.

"Very good captain Rakash, hanger 4 is open, you'll find it on the port wings forward section."

Meanwhile, a Shadow secter battleship droped out of warp at the co-ordinates left by the garbage men an transmitetd the following We are here, we are waiting..
The Garbage Men
07-10-2008, 12:04
We've turned a beacon on the surface of the planet. We'll meet you there to discuss our business proposition.

The message was very similiar to the message the Goliation received, this however was certainly from the planet below. A beacon was almost instantly activated on the surface, moments later confirmation that the message was broadcasted from the same location on the surface.

Whoever wanted to talk to them was there waiting for them.
The Shadow Species
07-10-2008, 16:10
With a faint blue shimmer in the air 16 hunters and 10 Devai materialised at the beacons co-ordinates
The Garbage Men

What they found when they arrived was quite unusual, the first thing they noticed was that there was a ship that had crash landed about 20m west of the position. The second thing they noticed were a number of small repair bots scurrying around going in, out and all around the ship. The third thing they noticed was that there was no one around just these metallic constructs.

There was nothing but the metal and the activity of the repair bots and a flashing white arrow above an open doorway where most of the repair bots entered and left. There was nothing else, no bodies, no blood just a crashed ship seemingly trying to repair itself.
The Shadow Species
08-10-2008, 11:00
"Defense pattern alpha 3, lets move" one of the hunters barked, priming his pulsecannon (mace with an energy gun in the middle) as the groupe moves towards the doorway.

As they moved forward there was no one there, well not that they could tell, As they entered the ship the first thing they noticed was an iridescent yellow forcefield. Yet the miniature robots seemed to passthrough it without any trouble. The second thing was that there were no lights on inside the ship bar the light coming in from from the entrance and the glow from the forcefield. Another thing they noticed the robots seemed to change their course to go around the Hunters and the Devai. A voice spoke the same as all the other times. It was coming from some speakers built into the wall.

"This is an I-dent security checkpoint, please confirm ident with a voice pattern followed by a print of your furthermost right hand." the voice spoke and a scanning pad slide from the wall.

There was quiet the only sounds where a slight hum from the forcefield and the clattering of little robotic feet on the metal passageway. Though there were also whatever noises that were made by the Hunters and the Devai.
The Shadow Species
09-10-2008, 11:21
"Switching to night vision" the lead hunter said as the room swam into view.
As the voice comanded the hunters spoke thier name, rank and sect while placeing thier hand on the scanner pad*. the Devia simply chittered as they placed thier hand of the pad.

OOC: *The hunters have armor grafted to thier skin and bone from the age of 3 meaning the armor is literaly part of them, dunno if your scanner can read that...
The Garbage Men
10-10-2008, 00:52
OOC: It would be able to do so but it doesn't really care.

IC:
After the head Hunter announced his name and bid his hand print the pad retracted it only wanted one individual.

"Ident Un... Ident Un... Ident Confirmed." the voice spoke as if it was caught in a loop or was a scratchy Record/CD.

The system seperated the hunter's title (if any was given) from his name and re-iterated them, it added afterwards "and 15 armed guests. Please make your way through the Ident Security Checkpoint. Attention: There is a message for <name>, the message reads 'The captain would like to see you and accompanying guests on board the bridge as soon as you embark. Please follow the blue emergency lights in the floor.' Message Ends."

As it finished the lights in the floored turned on, they were a blue colour, they extended forward before turning down a coridoor to the right. The little robots continued to go in and out through the forcefield as they made their way around the ship. Only the head hunter was identified but it seemed they all were expected to go through.
The Shadow Species
10-10-2008, 08:29
The groupw advanced, the small visers in thier helmets retreacting to allow the Hunters natural sight to guide them, the Devai didn't have the luxury of helmets, they just went with the flow.

After several minuits and what felt like miles of coridor later the groupe came to another corner groaning a Devai said "How much further!?!" in an amusingly high pitched voice
"Good question, lets find out" a hunter said, picking the comparitivly tiny Devai up bodily and throwing him around the corner "I love doing that" he said as they caught the Devai up "Are we there yet?"
The Garbage Men
10-10-2008, 10:22
The Devai found himself infront of one last security checkpoint right at the open door to the bridge the irredescent yellow forcefield was in the way to the open plan bridge thr only thing there was something that looked like a pillar but was covered with electronics. A figure was standing emotionlessly infront of the pillar and seemed to have a sort of glow, but that could just be the forcefield.

Once the security checkpoint identified the head hunter. The voiced announced his name and title and then once again instructed him and his 'guests' to pass through the shield.

The figure inside wasn't real, but was really a holographic projection, but it looked very real. The figure turned to face the incoming soldiers scanning for the head hunter She as a figure looked flawless, deep blue eyes and long blonde hair. She was wearing a tailored suit. Looking like proffessional business person while still oozing femininity. She moved with graceful purposeful movement.

"Welcome Gentleman," her voice was like every other voice that they had heard. "We'll cut right to it, we called you because we need your help. We, the systems of this ship, were doing our job working for The Garbage Men corporation - Transporting various materials. There was a problem and the best option we had was to crash land here. This means that we cannot complete our work as we are, so to complete our work we need you. Will you help us?"

OOC can I still join?

The hunter nodded to the Swii and the transmition was sent with the position of the ship attached. "And now we wait.."

Two tiny ships entered the system. One switched off cloaking, revealing yellow paint, the other remained cloaked and kept some distance.

This is the diplomatic vessel SunnySideUp of The Free Priesthood. We are interested in diplomatic relations, and curious about what kind of guidance you seek.

"Welcome sunny side up. We hosting a conferance on deck 13 if you wish to atend, hanger bay 4 is open and we'll send you the co-ordinates if you wish.

As to the guidance, we are looking for ways to ensure our alliance stays together, our races are quite different and the council fears we will split if we don't find common ground soon."

OOC: Yea its ok, any one can join for ever baisicly, till I actuly say the threds closed..
The Free Priesthood
10-10-2008, 16:43
A few messages were sent back and forth between the two ships, after which the second one decloaked as well. It was grey.

We're two ships, actually. It is against our safety instructions to board other ships, but for this time we'll ignore the rules. Both of us would like to attend the conference, please. I can already tell you we have some diversity at home, but our problems with that, as far as they exist, are probably quite different from yours.

"Quite, well the hanger is on the port wing, we'll light 'er up for you, come on in.."
The Free Priesthood
10-10-2008, 17:06
The two tiny ships gracefully landed in the hanger. From both emerged one human.

From the SunnySideUp: "Hi, my name is Sir Frederick. Pleased to meet you."
From the grey ship, which had the name Fireball painted on it: "I'm Sir Al. I'm only an observer, you should talk to the other guy."

"Very good captain Rakash, hanger 4 is open, you'll find it on the port wings forward section."

OOC: Soz for not posting in so long.
IC: Rodger that, we are approaching now.
A small Faunrist-class (http://www.thinktankstudios.com/images/machines/Finished/Imperial-Shuttle.jpg) MVIP shuttle dropped from the underbelly of the Yersinia Pestis, falling down before it's blue-green quad-sub-light engines kicked in, darting it forward to the Goliath before docking with it. A hatch in the bottom extended and a bridge extended down to the floor. Káno(captain) Astaldo stepped down the illuminated platform, two Delothar (http://www.cnc-i.net/files/media/tiberium_wars/concept_art/cc3_nod_soldier.jpg)soldier's stepping behind. Astaldo stopped at the bottom of the bridge and saluted.
"Captain Astaldo Malicath, servant of the Void."

Three Hunters stood infront of the two men. They didn't even seem to breathing, yet alone to have noticed the craft landing.
"Welcome lords" A centaur like Shade said, steping out of a tiny patch of shadow that realy shouldn't have been able to hide him, despite his jet black coat "Forgive the hunters, they are, as thier name sugests, exelent hunters but diplomacy isn't thier strong point. Nor aparently is saying hello, or even... breathing" the Shade seemed to be talking to himself towards the end rather than the two sirs, slaping one of the hunters on the back of the head, clearly confused when he fell forward with a resounding clang..
"Thats strange, any way, this was gentlemen, we take the internal transporters to the conferance room."

Another shade steped forward to great the templars, he obviuosly couldn't help but look as the hunter fell over "Bloody Ashari" he mutterd before turning to the captain "Welcome aboard Captain Malicath, servant of the void. We are meeting on deck 13 and are to take the internal transporters to reach the necesery section. Please this way"

As the second shade started to lead the templars away several Ashari ran past shouting "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" and being chased by 5 hunters

Astaldo raised an eyebrow slowly, and with great care, at the Ashari.
"Interesting ship." The guard stepped back onto the ship, chuckling to themselves, while Astaldo followed them. "Although, perhaps a lack of order on the part of the small creatures?"

The Hunters refuse to acept our religion, no that i blame them, not many of my people do either. Then the Shadow segment species are to chaotic to follow our relgion.." the shade said, turning into the dark coridor, turning right he stoped a Devai squad "Kill those Ashari" he said emotionlessly.

Bowing the Devai primed thier las-rifles and walking into the hanger, takeing aim for less than a second they fired one volly, masacering the rampaging Ashari.

"The solution is simple then..." She was already walking as she was speaking making her way through the assembled masses to a place behind them. As she arrived the system ejected a hard piece of plastic.

"Take this, it has the location and timeframe of our meet, The data contained inside will also verify that we sent you. Go to the location, meet them for us, and hand over the data chip, and in return you will meet some fellow employees who have authorisation to negotiate contracts. Is there anything else you want to know before you leave?"

"I will be blunt here, I am afraid. They do not follow your religion, as they know it to be False. The only true religion is that of Kalism." Upon seeing the dead Ashari, he cocked his head slightly.
"Oh. Do you mind if I..." He walked over, took a syringe from his pocket and took a blood sample from one of the corpses, before putting it away, dipping a finger in the blood and tasting it. "Yes, most definitely new." He stood. "Tastes vaguely of cinnamon, actually."

As he reached the end of the coridor (a dead end) he pushed a button in the wall and a blue shimmering field apeared infront of the dead end.

They apparently were detected fairly early as it was the ship they were coming here to see that contacted them first.

"No." He frowned. "It takes a certain kind of person. Not everyone is one of those who can worship him. He requires a very special type of worship. A worship in lifeforce, both the blood and souls of your enemies, and yourselves. There is an afterlife, but it is a blessed curse. At the feet of the Lord Kal in the Void until such time as he chooses to revive you, it is a painful existence as your very essence, all you were, are and shall be is constantly stretched, examined, dissected, destroyed and reborn every second of every minute of every day, possibly for all eternity. A single frigate faded into Real Space as it Emerged from T-Space or the 7th Dimension. The 60 meter frigate was easily noticeable on just about any sensor in the system due to a mass signature that measured similar to a small star and power readings that would make anyone wonder if their sensors were broken.

A message was sent out that echoed within the minds of those able to perceive psionic communication.

The two priests had quietly observed the events. Frederick whispered "Looks like they're getting themselves into even more trouble than they already were in."
Al nodded his head once, then whispered back "don't you dare calling upon Strife if they're going to do any more god-play, they don't need more chaos."
"Maybe you should recite your encyclopedia for them instead" replied Frederick with an annoyed tone in his voice.

"We don't object to different gods being called true, what we would object to is ours being called false. After all, all gods are true, even the false ones."

Al asked "How can that be?"

"I don't know man, I didn't do it."

Al slapped his forehead. "You and your annoying old Earth quotes..."

"Very well. I worship Strife, I believe opposing forces are fundamental to everything in the universe, that it would be inert without them so to say. I see special meaning in that. Al here is a priest of Sol, who he believes to be the source of all knowledge and enlightenment. We have priests of many different gods at home, and sometimes we adopt new ones into the mix. Please, do also tell us about the basic principles of your religion, if you would be so kind."

The reply came back after a few seconds.

"We will send a suitable individual over. Please prepare for their arrival."

After a couple minutes sensors detected a small object leaving the area of the alien vessel headed for the open hanger. The shuttlecraft sped swiftly, closing the distance but not fast enough to be mistaken for an attack.

"I suppose you are correct, technically at least. The Void does permeate all things, after all."

Please, do also tell us about the basic principles of your religion, if you would be so kind.

"Very well. In essence, Kalism is the acceptance of the fragility of life, but also the value. We worship the god of the Void, Kal. The main principles are to learn as much as you can about everything you can, to live a good life, to give glory and praise to Kal and to be kind to Chinchillas."

"Kal does sound similar to Sol, but the symbols seem different. All our religions teach us to be kind to all beings, at least as long as they're not unkind to us. What's special about chinchillas?"

"Nothing really, Kal just liked Chinchillas. Their seen as an extension of Him. There was also an old story in the Archives about Chinchilla's being used by Kal to demonstrate the people."

IC: "Very well, jumping to warp now, try to keep up!"
The battle ship turned 180 degrees and once more jumped into warp, heading back to the planet.

They were ready for the jump to Warp and did so just a Fractionally before the Battleship.

They were slightly faster, not by much, but enough to make a bit of a mockery of their "now, try to keep up!" comment.

Their guests arrived only about 10 seconds later.

There was a short burst of communications Meet you at the Crash Site

As transporters sent down first the diplomatic crew followed by a number of workers the cargo on board was about to start getting transfered.

The shuttle glided into the assigned hanger and settled down to the flight deck, stopping a few centimeters and halted without touching anything or even making a sound. The side of the craft seemed to melt and run down until the liquid metal dripped off and hovered, forming three triangular steps, each hovering on their own. The newly revealed door slid open and a robed individual stepped into the opening. She proceeded out using the three steps and finally stood upon the flight deck looking at the shade.

I am Ka’Teen. Please direct me to this meeting your transmission indicated.

The voice was the same as the others, sounding from the back of their mind composed of memories and voices from their past. In actuality, the recipient subconsciously picked the voices; the sender only sent the message. It was up to the receiver to dictate the voices they heard.

The Ta’Nar quietly followed her guide through the ship.

"Back to the real issue, could you please elaborate on what kind of frictions exist between the different groups in your nation?", Frederick asked.
