Founding of the Federation (FT Re-entry Open)

On a select few worlds across the galaxy, there exists life, and in some cases sentient life. However, due to the steps nessicary to become sentient, typically only one species achieves that goal. However in a far flung system, there existed sentience not just in one species but three. These species had always warred against each other, with neither of the three sides gaining or losing any territory. So one day it was decided that the endless battles, would come to a close. These three species sealed their alliance, and became what would be known as The United Federation of Oblivion, taking the name Oblivion from their home planet. Each race had a specific task it contributed to society.

The Oblivionates:
( http://www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry=sast-500113082439 )

They took it upon themselves to be the military and policing aspect of the Federation, seeing to the safety of every citizen on the planet. Although they lack in physical size, they make up for it by being the planets supreme hunters. They are quick, agile, stealthy, and understand tactics very well. They have many natural defense Mechanisms, chief among them are a natural resistance to climate and disease, Elk Horns, claws, and terrmendously powerful teeth. They are entirely carnivores so they are careful not to waste any meat that they take, and as such are also extreme enviromental activists.

The Jao-Tans
( http://www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry=ftr-creature%3Asast-500129377699%3Apg-80 )

The Jao-Tans are Oblivions Traders, and polititians. They possess sharp senses which make them excellent spies. They also have webbed feet and hands making they excellent swimmers. Naturally they have no defense mechanisms, however this has been countered by the ability to form weapons out of objects from their every day enviroment.

The Shang-ti (or yeti in their tounge)
( http://www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry=srch-Yeti%3Asast-500010114631 )

Don't let the Shang-Ti's looks fool you, underneath that brutish appearence is the soul of a monk. The Shang-Ti are the Religouse society in Oblivion, they will, however, fight for their god. Their soldiers (or Yeti Zealots) are among the most elite forces on the planet. They are entirely Herbivoral, as such they share the same enviromental views as the Oblivionates.

When the Federation was Founded in the year 90217 A.S. (After Sentience), Oblivion was on the brink of destruction, in the 400 years since that day, the planet is whole again, the people are healthy, and life was good. However, the planet was becoming crowded once more. Finally a solution apperered. A starship from an alien Civilization from accross the stars crash landed on Oblivion. The Jao-Tan Scientists studied the starship for years, until they had unlocked the secrets of Lightspeed. Now the Federation had been space Travel Capable since 90012, but it's only use was to launch satillites into space.

When the first Lightspeed capable ship was finished, it was quickly loaded with hundreds of thousands of colonists. The Federation quickly colonized the system.

But the Oblivionate Species realised a horrible fact, if the spaceship that crashed landed on Oblivion, was really alien, then the race that owned it would quickly come looking for it! With that horrible Realisation the Federation Comissioned battle fleets to defend Federation space should another race prove hostile.

80 years passed with no contact from alien civilisations. And so, without fear of attack, the Federation slowly colonized more system. However on a scouting mission to what would have been there fourth cononlized system, the Federation ran into something unexpected, a ship from another race...

Aboard the Scout Corvette, Ticonderoga.
Star Date 214 AU (after Union)

A Jao-Tan sat at the communications blister, scanning space for any signs of an asteriod or planet that could support life. A blip appeared on the blister, the Jao-Tan checked the blips profile, it didn't match that of an asteroid or a planet, but rather that of a starship.

The Jao-Tan got up from his chair and walked over to the Observations Computer. He asked the Shang-Ti at the station, in Jao-tanese "Brother, there is something on the rader, in quadrant 7, can you bring the image on screen?"

The Shang-Ti nodded and Inputted a few commands, in half of a second the Image appeared on screen, it was a ship, although not one of Federation Design.

The Jao-Tan Gasped and said to the Shang-ti "Rouse the Captain, and I'll get the ship on high alert."

Moments later all the crew were awakened and the Ship placed on High alert. The Captain, an Oblivionate by the name of Montuk, viewed the ship on screen.

"intresting, send them a message Mr Gondaro!" He said to the Jao-Tan how discovered the vessel.

"Are you sure this information is correct? We're looking for a needle in a haystack." queried the captain

"Yes, right from the traders that were passing this way when it was lost. The traders..." the communications officer was cut short. "I just hope we find it, if we don't find it.. who knows what he'll do to us."

The bridge sat quiet, no one really wanted to speak, morale was quite low. They had been looking for this ship for quite sometime and this was the latest longshot after a series of failure. If they didn't return soon with their booty then they might not return at all.

"Alright it's not in this system, we've scoured every single atom of the place. Next System... hopefully this is the one."

"You've been saying that about the last 20 systems."

"Whatever."

The ship jumped into a new system.

"Alright, standard security sweep"

"On it, Sir."

The scan had barely begun as they almost instantaneously detected and received the message from the UFV Ticonderoga

"Sir?"

"Let's see if our new friends know anything about the crash, set up a video link with them... Do they have video?"

"No idea, sir. Connecting Video with a number of audio back-ups just in case."

UFV Ticonderoga, Thank you for the welcome and the invitation. I am Captain Jacobson, I would like to accept the invitation and enter into discussions on board the Ticonderoga. As to our mission, you could say the same thing, we are looking for a ship that got lost in this region of space some time ago. We would be willing to agree to an exchange for any information regarding what did or may have happened the ship, it's crew and it's contents. I will be transported on-board the Ticonderoga momentarily. Where would you like me to go?

This ship had little in the way of visible markings, it was shaped in a design very similiar to of a stingray.

OOC: Just so you know I'm not claiming the ship as mine OOCly but will be doing so ICly, assume as my guys have been hunting it down they should have enough information to easily, at least initially, convince your guys that we are the owners. I don't want to say much about it as it ain't my creation.

The Captain looked at the transmission warily, perhaps these were the species whose ship was lost on Oblivion years ago, then again perhaps not.

The Captain Barked in Oblivionate "Send them a return message!"

Greetings Captain Robinson, I am captain Montuk of the Oblivionate race. Simply board the ship with yourself and a small escort team, we will allow you to bring weapons, however we assure you if you do choose to fight we will destroy you. As for the Ship we may have the whearabouts of it's current location.

The Twilight Class Cruiser Aeon entered the system, twisting the space around it, bring about a energy spike for a split second. It went away quickly as they entered Real Space. The ship traveled on the outskirts of the system for a few moments and then sent two messages to the ships.

@Oblivion2

This is Captain Alexander, of Fleet Pact Rhine, a member of The United Fleets, or The Fleet Pact of Allied Worlds. When we came near this system, we detected a distress signal, perhaps left to repeat itself. We came to investigate, though we know not of how old the signal truely was.

@TGM

To The Garbage Men, greetings! You are indeed in the Rhine records, though I don't think you have made contact with us before.

~~~~
The 2.3 Kilometre long ship settled nearby the two other ships, the energy signals getting more powerful at that range. Several Fighters scrambled out of a hanger on the ship, patroling along the hull
OOC: Assuming you're shields aren't up, if they are I'll have to use a more mundane method of transportation (I'll edit as appopriate)
IC:
"Hah - Guess they haven't heard of teleporters! Also damn ingrate got my name wrong if our career's weren't riding I'd ... ugh" Captain Jacobson moked exasperatidly "Okay, Keira you've got the bridge." He took a few steps down and started towards an alcove on one side of the bridge.
Sensors alerted an officer to the prescence of a new ship... "Sir, Ma'am, we've got a new ship inboard."
"Sigh alright, onscreen." He didn't recognise it at all, "damnit."
"We're receiving a signal from our new friends."
To The Garbage Men, greetings! You are indeed in the Rhine records, though I don't think you have made contact with us before.
"Damnit... How did they identify us? no markings. You did turn off our IFF beacon right?"
"Yes, sir, you can check it."
"Sigh, Alright, We can't pretend to be the owners but we can pretend to represent the owners. Send a message to our new friends..."
Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the Rhine. Welcome to the galactic community. I'm Captain Jacobson, I'm just about to engage in business with the UFV Ticonderoga but I will be happy to see you after I finish up business there. In the meantime, you are welcome to send some representatives to be entertained by our hospitality in the meantime.
"If they send some people over, buddy up to them. I want to know how much they know about us, our mission and the corporation as a whole, got it?"
"Yes, sir." Keira responded.
"Alright, if anyone needs me while I'm away work it out yourself."
The captain finally made his way to the transporters... "Lock on to just outside a vacant docking bay. Me and one of the boys from security are going to pop over for a little visit."
He stood on one of the pads in the alcove and a security officer joined him
"Ready"
"Ok.... Transporting."
The two figures faded into nothing on the pads but luckily they faded into existance again in a cooridoor outside. Both were fairly stocky characters and their clothing was different, the Captain was slightly talled but, there was nothing that formally identified the Captain's rank.
"I wonder how long it will be till they notice us." the captain made an off-hand comment as they waited.
"Sir!" Said the Shang-ti on the Computer station, "I'm detecting two new energy resonaces, one coming from the cargo bay, and one that suggests a new ship has arrived."
"How could we have an energy signal coming from our own cargo bay?" Asked the Captain
"Sir I believe that Captain Jacobson and his crew have unlocked the secrets of teleporting."
"Wow, teleportation, when is our teleportation project going to be finished?"
"Command estimates another 30 years."
"Interesting... Send a escort to greet Captain Jacobson,"
"Yes sir! But what about the new vessel? Should I send them a message too?"
"Indeed you should, if only we had one of those ship minds to do it for us though."
Within two Minutes an escort party of three Shang-Ti and Two Oblivionates were in the cargo bay to welcome Captain Jacobson.
The Oblivionate in charge, Seargent Samgi, instantly knew which one was Captain Jacobson, his scent had an air of command about it, and the other creatures had an air of Obidence, and fear, perhaps due to a morale problem.
Samgi Bowed and said in his language "Captain Jacobson, come with me to the bridge." He made a follow gesture with his hand for emphasis, incase these new people didn't have translators.
Greetings Captain Alexander, we are the UFV Ticonderoga a Federation Vessel, the Distress signal you may be recieving is that of a vessel that crash-landed on our home planet Oblivion, years ago, Although our home planet is 3 systems away so how you are recieving that signal is unknown to us.
@Oblivion2
Once again, greetings! Your first steps out into the universe will welcome you to more hospitality then you might think. As for how we got the signal, we think a transmission was placed in a container, perhaps a shield, and was sent off into space before what befel the crew of that ship happened. Perhaps you could direct us to some one of higher athority? We would be more then happy to engage in diplomatic relationships with your home system. I can get a Diplomatic Cruiser from a nearby Rhine System here in a matter of hours. In the mean time, perhaps it would be better if we came aboard to meet face to face? I'll have a dropship ready if this is to your likeing.
Perhaps, it would be better if we met and discussed the details in my ship first, we do not wish for our home world's location to be given out so freely. But yes, send a dropship and we will meet and talk.
The Captain sent the message and slumped into his chair... It was going to be a long day...
A Black and Red craft slipped out of the hanger. It approached the Federation ship slowly at first, but sped up and made the distance at a surpriseing pace. It approached the ships small craft entree way. (Not entirely sure if your ship(s) support hangers or if you only have a cargo bay, though the dropship is more capable if it has a hanger to go into. None of that airlock nonsense.)
When they were granted entrance into the ship, it set down slowly, the wings the ship folding neatly upwards, the sleek body of the ship came to a stop. After a few moments a ramp went down, five figures walked down the ramp, four of them wearing Black and Red armour with helmets that had a silver faceplate, and behind the plates a flurry of blue activity swarming about. Lights on their shoulders lit up the room. The final figure stood in a neat and trim uniform, of black, with silver buckles and badges. A Black and Red cap told of his rank.
"At ease." The four Marines stood to either side of the dropships' ramp, powerful looking rifles held in salute.
"I am Captain Alexander." The Captain said this into a metal box and a metallic voice came out with the translated message. He was polite enough to use body language at first to avoid confusion. "Which of you are the commanding officer?"
Oblivion2
05-10-2008, 21:33
OOC: My ships do have hanger bays, but scout corvettes only have room for a dropship, luckily for you this particular corvette left theirs on Oblivion to speed up travel.
The Three Creatures who went to meet the Envoys from the United Fleets were Oblivionates, quickly they Identifiyed the leader and spoke through his translator.
"I am Leutanaent Gorde, Our commanding officer wishes for you to come to the meeting chamber so diplomatic tidings can begin, you may remove your helmets if you so wish, we are oxygen breathers as we assume you are also. When you are ready come with me."
The United Fleets
05-10-2008, 22:24
The four Marines made no move to remove their helmets, though they did relax a little when the captain sent glances their way. However, the captain did remove a small tube from the roof of his mouth, which he cleaned and pocketed. "Thank you. Sergeant, your with me. You three, wait here." Metallic voices sounded off, making the Marines seem even more daunting. "Sir! For Rhine!" The Sergeant in question stood next to his CO and gave a small nod to Gorde. The other Marines stood like statues at the entrance to the drop ship, while the Captain and the Sergeant walked up beside the aliens.
"If you would be so kind as to lead us to said chamber?" The Sergeant scanned the hanger, making sure there wern't any hidden troops, or robotic sentinals waiting to ambush the dropship. He did it casually so as not to attract attention, and was already talking to his squad on a secure channel. "Cut the chatter you three. If you have something worth talking about, I want to hear it loud and clear."
The Oblivionates Chuckled amongst themselves, silly creatures were afraid, atleast the four of them were, the CO on the other hand was more calm than a Hildabeast* on a warm summer morning.
"Certainly, follow us." said Gorde.
He pressed a few keys on the door to the corridor, it opened with a hiss and he guided his guests to the Diplomatic Chambers, showing them objects of interest along the way.
"This here is our Main Chamber, in here we have many species of plants, which keep our ships atmosphere from tasting bland and stale, and they never break down, so we never have to replace air scrubbers in the ship." said Gorde as they walked through the the Chamber, it was huge, at least 200 square meters in size.
As they walked past a tree bearing fruit, a young Oblivionate poked it's head out of the branches said something in it's native tongue and threw down a few pieces of fruit to Gorde.
Gorde Handed the fruit to the Captain and his escort(s).
"It's a puma fruit, it's quite tasty and has amazing regenerative properties, which help you stay healthy, try some if you want, but we must keep moving."
He continued until they found a grand looking door, which said in Federation standard "Diplomatic Chambers"
Gorde Looked at the creatures and said through his translator "I can take you no further, and your escort must stay here, only you may pass."
Gorde opened the door for the captain.
The Sergeant tensed for a moment, his Plasma Battle Rifle beeping for a moment, but a quick glare from the Captain stopped any of that. The Captains eyes sent a quick message. Sergeant! Control yourself! Alexander gave off a aura of command and power, that quailed even the grizzled soldier before him. The external transmutors on the suit of the Marine sounded off. "Sir!" The Captain turned swiftly to Gorde. "Thank you. My NCO would be more then happy to wait here."
The Captain nodded politely to the Lieutenant, and strode into the room.
Oblivion2
05-10-2008, 22:59
"Ahh Captain Alexander I would Presume!" Said Captain Montuk, an Oblivionate, as Alexander entered the room. "What do you think of our ship? Not bad for a Civilisation that has only been out in space for eighty years eh? But I suppose you aren't here for small talk. Why are you here, and what can my humble federation offer you?"
The United Fleets
05-10-2008, 23:08
The Captains face lit up slightly when he was finally before someone in charge. "It is a pleasure. And yes, though I'm sure you have many things to ask for yourself, down to what we came here for first. Now since we claim no ownership of the ship that crashed, and we were only responding to the forlorn signal, Pact Rhine would like to guide you into being a known power in this area of space. Though we must ask that you not open into warfare needlessly, as we are sworn to come to aide of allied nations. We consider every cry for aide in such a situation a allied nation until we determine otherwise. But exspansion into unclaimed areas of space would not only be encouraged, but we would be more then happy to open up trade routes with your Federation. Though I cant possibly enforce such things, I am authorized to give you the standard affair until a Rhine Councilmen can come in a Diplomatic Cruiser."
The Captain, now standing before Captain Montuk somewhat awkwardly gazed about the room, taking in the surroundings. "Interesting." He said quietly. But then placed his gaze back on Montuk. "But that could take a few short hours, so perhaps talking until then, and having some basic information to present the Councilmen would be good?"
Oblivion2
06-10-2008, 00:07
"Why Certainly Captain. As you have no doubt seen, our federation is a multi species Federation. Ever since all three species on our planet became sentient, we fought for control of the planet. It was'nt until about 400 years ago when a Shang-Ti Scholar Suggested that all three of the species unite and form a Federation. So we did, and we lived in peace for the next three hundred and twenty years. Then about 80 years ago the spacecraft crash landed on our planet. We studied it and gained advanced technoligies, weapons, and FTL transit. By that time we had already had lightspeed capable vessels, however they were single person only and were quite useless. When we got the first FTL drive working we were excited and reproduced our results, intergrated them into our ships and quickly colonized the system. We then colonized two other systems, Antares and Hermia respecively. This system, which we call orion is rich in Material Wealth, which we would have colonized in order to make new ships for the Federation."
Montuk Paused for a moment to let the other captain take in all the information, then after a moments silence (and a quick drink) he continued.
"The Three Races in the Federation are the Oblivionates, the Pao-Tan, and the Shang-Ti. I belong to the Oblivionate race, we are renowed warriors, hunters and strategists in the Federation, and as such are the bulk of her Military and Police forces. The Pao-Tan are our merchants, Polititans and Star Fleet officals. The Shang-Ti, which are the big yeti like creatures, are oddly enough our religous officals. Although some Shang-Ti fight for there god in the Military, in which case we call them zealots. Our Federation is governed by the Excecutive council, which is a council of nine members, three from each race, and each one represents one of the three major parts of the federation, Military, Economics, or Religon."
"Oblivion is our Major System, which most of our polulation currently resides. Antares is a Major Military system, where ship building, training, and experimental weapons testing occurs. Hermia is a religous santuary as well as a major asteroid mining system, with only one inhabitable planet. What we can offer your people is rare metals and crystals, quality soldiers and weapons, and more food than you could ever dream of."
Captain Montuk took another sip of his drink and asked, "It is quite a lot to take in so I assume you may have some questions I did not answer, so Ask and I will do my best to answer them for you."
The United Fleets
"No, you might be surprised, but everything you just said really IS standard affair in meeting new alien races. They say fledgeling empires tend to meet a influx of offers of peace and war after their first encounter, though I wouldn't worry to much about the latter. You should have a rather large military at this point if what you say is true. Or at least large enough to defend four systems. But as I wouldn't dare try to dig deeper into your state secrets, how about I tell you about The United Fleets, or as we are generally known as to others The Fleet Pact of United Worlds."
The Captain looked for something that seemed like a chair and sat down. He went on and said "The Fleet Pact was at first a defense treaty in a sector of space that once belonged to a Federation much like yours, but only of my species, which is Human. Or Terran to some. Anyways, thousands of years ago, these colonies or decrepit Mega City infested planets were cut off from communication, and around that time, space traval took an extremely long time. Soon all vessels besides ones that could traval in system were lost to the dangers that began encroaching upon them. But then a group of Tech Devicers, a relatively new order back then, created a Faster The Light device, which we call a Harbringer of Time and Space, or HoTaS. That is a rather formal name, so it could be called a slipspace drive, but its rather differant, becuase it transmutes matter into data, and uses surrounding matter to reform the vessel and its crew to a differant location, which usually only takes hours. But it feels more like seconds."
"When the news of FTL vessels had returned, improved even, military efforts began quickly, lead by the devicers at first. Soon brigands and pirates were beaten off, and aliens that had enslaved a few worlds were routed and some destroyed, if they would not accept surrender. To ensure that safety would stay in the general area of populace, the Fleet Pact was formed. Everyone would form a fleet to protect their claims, but also send out ships to form Battlefleets which were only temporary. These fleets, useing their terror inspireing firepower, crushed all opposition when we needed to fight. Which lead to us being called The United Fleets. Now back then, every world was governed by councils of various kinds, with things sort of like guilds taking part of upholding the connection between the planets. Soon, it was realised that we would need a real form of government, so it was proposed that a Republic was formed, with Senators from all 32 systems forming the Senate. Now some might think that the 32 systems, or Pacts, as they all have names, are the only ones, making us seem like a rather small empire, but there are dozens of colonys, divided into sectors owned by each Pact. Pact Rhine has the claim of the Rhine Space, and has the Duty of staveing off aliens and pirates in the Outter Sectors, which we are beyond right now. We were on a scouting mission by the way, but as to why I cant tell you of course."
"Now soon, reconstruction efforts led the Pacts into being individual powers, but were more unified then you think. Most Pacts think of themselves as united as The United Fleets points out. But there are a few Pacts that think they should be in charge, kepted happy only by their own greedy devices. So yes, The United Fleets has problems in Politics just like any other nation."
The Captain stoped to clear his throat. And then smiled at Montuk. "Now you see, every Pact upholds a code of honor. One: We Defend the weak from evil empires who wish nothing but to enslave. Two: We provide trade and protection of said trade routes to all allies and would-be allies. Three: In the case of civil war, if we are asked to help, but by both sides, we pick the side that wants a Democracy of some sort and is good intentioned. Though number three is done with care, less we cause a uproar by aideing nations to lift their own problems."
The Captain cleared his throat again. "Now that we both know something about each others nations, lets talk about those trade routes. We can provide our selves food and soldiers en-masse, our Pact Rhine Space Marines being the best troopers you could find this side of the Universe. But we would be more then happy to trade for metals to produce our own ships. We are always looking for raw materials for our war efforts."
Oblivion2
06-10-2008, 01:50
"We can supply you with much material, provided you allow us to colonize this system, which as I said before is quite rich in metals. We would also like to make an exchange in scientific knowledge, for we have some interesting technoligies your race may find useful. Perhaps we could join your "United Fleets." as they are called, for my race has always been rather warlike and we have had few eneimes in which to fight, save for the Arachinds on Antares IV, but that is another story. But in order for an alliance or a trade route to be reached the council must meet with your diplomats, which is more difficult than it sounds. We cannot allow you into the oblivion System, for security reasons, however if you could send your ambassadors to antares, it would be much easier I think, then going through a series of Complex searches, if and when you reach Oblivion."
The United Fleets
06-10-2008, 01:55
"Yes, but I ordered my second in command to order a Diplomatic Cruiser, and like Ive said before, It could take a few hours. Perhaps we could both meet with The Garbage Men? The other ship that is. I'm sure you would like to talk to them aswell." Alexander stood and nodded at Montuk.
Oblivion2
06-10-2008, 02:03
"You misunderstand me, you should order your diplomatic cruiser, however instead of directing it to Oblivion, Direct it to Antares. And as for the other peoples, these "garbage men" they will be heard, however I think it would be best of I there meeting seperate from yours."
OOC: just because he's inactive right now, so we can advance the story.
The United Fleets
06-10-2008, 02:08
"Yes of course. I'll return to my ship. I'll also have the cruiser directed there ASAP."
OOC:
Do you want the meeting to at Antares in a differant thread to make things easier? Becuase after the Diplomatic Cruiser is around, the Aeon can't have a real reason to be there, seeing as how its a Military Twilight Class Cruiser, and should be out chaseing off evil aliens or space pirates or something. Alien Space Bats...Starship Troopers to! :P
OOC: Let's go.
IC: Jacobson smiled as he progressed through the passage ways to meet with Captain Montuk, "Well, at least things are looking up." The security officer just grunted.
Having nothing else to do, except for following their escort, which even the dumbest of slimes could do he started to look around at the space architecture, see if he could determine any similiarities between it and the ship he was looking for. If it was it could mean a whole lot of things, especially a need to be extra careful about what one says.
Oblivion2
06-10-2008, 02:27
OOC: Why not, i'll keep this thread around for the Garbage men, i'll make a new thread.
"Good meeting you captain." Captain Montuk, shook the hand of Captain Alexander and then opened the door for him to walk out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Welcome to the Main Chamber Captain Jacobson, The diplomatic Chambers are not far from here." Said the Shang-Ti escort.
Inside the Main Hall were many trees and plants, each with it's own unique fruit or vegatable.
The Escorts passed Captain Alexander on his way out, and they showed Captain Jacobson in.
Captain Montuk greeted Jacobson, "Welcome to my ship Captain! She's not bad for a corvette is she?"
"Well, I'm sure that the following series of Diplomatic meetings and discussions will be fairly boring (OOC:Muhahaha! Foreshadow!) but I hope we meet again, maybe on the battle field Montuk (OOC: One more foreshadow! Can anybody say Alien Invasion Thread?). Until next time of course."
Alexander nodded to him once more and began to exit. His NCO followed him, quick in keeping pace with the Captain. The Captain and his escort quickly departed in thier dropship. The Black and Red transport quickly made the distance to the Rhine Cruiser, and entered its safety.
EDIT: Also, I need to go now, but I'll post in that new thread likely later tonight.
"Welcome to the Main Chamber Captain Jacobson, The diplomatic Chambers are not far from here." Said the Shang-Ti escort.
Inside the Main Hall were many trees and plants, each with it's own unique fruit or vegatable.
The Escorts passed Captain Alexander on his way out, and they showed Captain Jacobson in.
Captain Montuk greeted Jacobson, "Welcome to my ship Captain! She's not bad for a corvette is she?"
"Heh, yeah not bad. I like what you've done with the greenery. Haven't seen a corvette with live plants at all."
He smiled lightly, careful not to show teeth as who knows what that meant in this society.
"Now as for business, I captain my ship as an employee of The Garbage Men, it's tagged as TGMS Operations 1763. The Garbage Men, commonly shortened to TGM is a galactic corporation that deals in wastes of all sorts. I have been tasked by our management to track down a specific crashed vessel for a client. We believe it's somewhere around here but it crashed quite a long time ago, We believe around 400 years ago according to our calculations. I don't suppose you know of anything that would meet this description do you?"
Oblivion2
OOC: The ship crashed 80 years ago not 400, union occured 400 years ago.
"We have Heard of such a ship, in fact it crash landed on our home planet, exactly 80 years ago. What do you require of the ship?"
The Garbage Men
06-10-2008, 05:26
"I'm going to have to speak with our mathematician but I think I know happened. As for the ship, everything, of course any remains of those that died in the crash. Any survivors or descendents of survivors would have to make up their own mind whether they wanted to go to their original home or stay here. The ship, any existing contents, and all it's sub-systems in working or not all of it would have to come with us.
I of course, could provide some sort of payment which would have to be passed on to our client but I understand how much this may mean to your society."
"Certainly, the ship is of no more use to us, as for a survior we do have one, he is kept in critical condition, in cryo storage, we do not have the technology to heal his injuries. We will deliver both the ship and the "survivor", if you will send us a ton of Kandarian Power crystals."
OOC: Power Crystals? Depending on a powersource of non reusable origin other then gas is not wise. But enough of me. Looking for that thread now.
The Garbage Men
"A ton of power-crystals?" Jacobson was honestly quite surprised he expected some sort of payment but this was outright blackmail, the only problem was they didn't have anything to blackmail them with.
"Don't think anyone would agree to pay that, You've had the ship for 80 years plenty of time to get your money worth out of the technology, I'd bet my wage that this entire ship was built from technology or designs, or in some way derived from that crashed ship. That ship and the survivor might have been important once but now they're only a liability for you. Try again, this time with an offer that doesn't waste my time or yours."
The captain was taken aback, power crystals were not uncommon in this region of space. "No matter then, perhaps you could just send us the blueprints to an early version of your teleporting technology?"
The Garbage Men
07-10-2008, 00:16
He paused for a moment looking at his opposing captain in the eyes
"Alright, I'll get the blueprints for you, where would you like to exchange?"
Oblivion2
08-10-2008, 02:30
"Perhaps some place closer to your borders so that it will give you more time to aquire those blueprints, if that works for you."
The Garbage Men
08-10-2008, 02:51
"Alright, I think I already have an idea where. I'll send you the co-ordinates when I get back to my ship. We'll meet you there in 5-days time. If there isn't anything else, We'll return to our ship now."
He started standing up and gave a partial bow and extended his hand to shake
Oblivion2
Captain Montuk bowed as well,
"I'll see you then captain."
The Garbage Men
09-10-2008, 02:24
"So shall I."
He turned around and faced the guard taking a few steps he spoke "It's time we left."
as he stood beside the guard they vanished in the same manner they arrived. They returned back to the bridge in which the security personnel vanished back to his post and the captain ordered the broadcast of one the planets they had scanned about a month ago. It was an ideal location and not too far away, They vanished in a moment as their FTL drives engaged and they left the system.
OOC: Don't see a need to create another thread. It's not like it's going to be interfering with other story lines and it would simply carry one from what's already been done in this thread.
