Why, oh why does the nightingale cry?
Because it wants food?
Because it is scared?
Because it is cold?
There were countless answers to the question, but as his granddaughter asked him he had only one answer for her.
"Because it wants to be free."
Free from oppression, from fear, from starvation and cold and death. For years he and his granddaughter had been living in the cold wasteland that was Mirschendillin, with a huge band of exiles from somewhere. Nobody knew why they were there. They just had been, for hundreds of years, and still were waiting for something.
"Why, oh why does the nightingale cry?"
"Lord Thykereyen, we have a distress signal from Mirschendillin, yet again." Lord Thykereyen turned and dismissed the man, saying "Nobody lives there. It's just a ruined, cold wasteland."
"But my Lord... there is a message!"
The High Lord watched as the last message was sent out. Someone was out there in that wasteland, and they needed help.
Someone was calling, reaching out to Anemos.
And Anemos would answer.
"Why, oh why does the nightingale cry?"
"Because it wants to be free. Free from everything bad."
And Anemos would free it. With the aid of other nations, perhaps these mysterious people would be found...
The Mercanary Camp of Avoya, is always interested in New allies, and technology. We have sent a company of trained men, under Captain Paul Schneider, who has at his disposal 5 Tin Men, as well as 150 regular Marines. We are capable of sustaining ourselves, and are ready to help!

From: The Free Nation of Ursava.
When people are forgotten, they have suffered a fate worse than death. The people of this wasteland have apparently been forgotten with the years until you have found them; which the nation of Ursava congratulates you for. In order to aid the search of these people a 'Section' (62 men, not counting support) of the 'White Spear', elite mountain troopers, are standing by and willing to aid you in your search.
From the desk of Timothy Jacks, High President of Nilpnt and Commander of the Armed Forces.
Being forgotten... a fate with the ability to kill everything, even gods. A fate that could be easily reversed, with the right moves. We will make the first of these moves. As of now we have several satellites scanning the area known as Mirschendillin, looking for any signs of organized life and with your permission we can send as many personell needed to aid in your search of these people.
Signed,
Timothy Jacks.

To all the nations who have kindly offered support, excepting Avoya.
Thank you very much for your offers and yes, we will happily accept. As for us we have deployed a sectyone (150 men) to the north. Please rendevous with our troops there.
The mountains are in uncharted territory north of the Kingdom of Mayaqoo, and we do not know who these people are. The message was transmitted from somewhere past the mountains, however, and we do not know if they are passable. It is too dangerous to land by any form of aircraft.
OOC: Should I just post my troops entering your country?

As dusk settled over the Police Service Headquarters, a group of around thirty officers stood by three modified TDPS Chevrolet Impalas. The Impalas had been through some "winterization" and now sported spiked tires and small plows on the front fenders. Bars had also been placed over the side windows for increased protection if the vehicles lost control in the treacherous landscape. Although the vehicles themselves were unarmed, the trunks contained some light weaponry and winter survival kits.
The old DA-26 "Moosejaw" stood on the runway with the rear cargo door open and propellers spinning. The three vehicles were loaded, with five men in each. The remaining fifteen officers took seats around the three vehicles in the cold cargo bay of the "Moosejaw". The plane would fly into a major Anemos capital, unload, and return to the Commonwealth. From there on in the Police Service officers would begin the long trek to Mirschendillin....
The H-67 Behemoth lifted off from its airbase, and began its long journey to Mayaqoo, where they would deploy, and march into the mountains, helping the Anemos Majorian soldiers find these band of travelers. As the first people to read the message, that Anemos had sent out, they had already mobilized snow transports, and helicopters, to organize the search. in all, over 400 men had been mobilized. all wore winter camoflague.
The other contigent under captain schneider was to continue from the south, so that wherever these refugees were, they would be found and helped. Dispite some strange messages from the Anemian government, that the officers had put down to miscommunications, everything was going well.
They had rendezvoused with the twin dominion soldiers, and were fairing well.
The only thing, was wierd cry, that one man claimed, was that of a mockingbird....
The Nilpntze forces, nearly 300 of them, loaded into the waiting C-16 Pelican and took off while another landed and was loaded up with 5 PHX R-700 motorbikes in the front, behind that was a single, folded down, AH-3 Viper helicopter and even further behind that was 2 VAE Armored Cars. It took off soon, reaching maximum speed and before long it meet with the other Pelican.
After a few hours of flying they were apon their destination, the first transport lowered its altitude and the soldiers, dressed in full winter protection, parajumped. They landed less than a mile from the rendevous point and soon began to move toward the waiting Anemos soldiers.
Any listening ear this is the Search and Rescue force from Nilpnt, We need a secure base to land at and unload, over. said the pilot of the second pelican who waited for a response.

IC: The Ranger sectyone was attempting to scale one of the rocky crags that marked the beginning of Mirschendillin, and failing. Without aerial support they had no idea what was where, and a sergeant shouted "No foothold!" for the seventh time that day. The rock was too hard to chip away, and the ranger Major looked down, sighing.
There had to be a way.

The Twin Dominions 'Moosejaw' touched down and unloading began. Sergeant John Windsor made himself known to the nearest Anemos official...
Captain Schneider suddenly realized that all the Anemian troops had fallen behind. He pondered this, but decided to keep travelling. The way was tough, and he would not give up easily.
Then his communications officer came up to him 'sir, I have received a message from a friend in the Anemian army. They are preparing to fire at us sir! We will all be dead in minutes!'
'Damnit, I knew it would happen. We have not done anything wrong but Anemos continues its hostile actions. tell the troops not to fire at the Anemians in any circumstance. We should all die, before we give them cause for war.
Now, keep going, we must find these refugees, before they all die."

OOC: Actually, I would being as you were crossing illegally in to his country according to one of his previous posts, Avoya.
The sixty two Ursavian mountain troopers/special forces operatives, along with several winter vehicles (including snow-mobiles and a few micro-lites) flew in a large cluster of C-130s (including a few gun-ships as a ground defence given news of a possibly hostile ground-force from Anemos Major radio chatter). They were equipped with light-weight equipment, winter gear, food to last them a long time, and training that was perfect for the cold climates they were headed for. The men were loading their guns as well, just in case what they found was...less than 'friendly'. The C-130s entered Anemos Major's air-space.
"This is Thunder 1, requesting landing coordinates over." One of the pilots of a gun-ship said.

In the back of one of the TDPS Impala cars, the radio was chattering about Avoyan invaders and foreign insurgents wrecking Anemos Major. Corporal Black opened the door, which had almost frozen solid. Sergeant John Windsor looked up at him and told him to shut the door quickly; the engine was running to keep the car warm and the battery almost flat.
"What a damned place, sarn't," Black complained. "We travel all this way and now a war's starting up. We don't belong here!"
"You're right Corporal," said Windsor. "But that doesn't mean we're going just yet. We'll see how things play out. I will be the first to call Buckingham and tell them to get us out of here. But before that happens, we've got to help find these people. Instruct all Police Service units to maintain a clear distance from all- especially Avoyan- military units. We don't want to get caught up in World War 3 when all we have are three squad cars! We're moving to the sectyone in five minutes. Alert the Anemos that we will be approaching their positions within a few hours. That will be all, Corporal."
Ten minutes later, the convoy of 3 police vehicles began to move toward the sectyone.

"This is Anemos Mayaqoo command to all available tank divisions!" shouted the Major. "Surround the Avoyans and force them out! They have illegally crossed into our land without warning. Do not fire until fired upon, understand?"
"Yes, major!"
The Rangers had managed to secure a path up the first rock when a sergeant heard the roaring of a vehicle engine, and he shouted "Form up! It could be enemies!" but hen he saw the squad car he added "Hold fire."
To all Nilpnt forces, landing point is at Imgrin Airstrip, Mayaqoo North. Vehicles have been prepared to transport your men, over.
Captain Schneider realized that he was on his own. At least figurativly: he still had over 300 marines under his command, and was surrounded by hostile troops. But he had just been told to not fire at the Anemos Major troops, and surrender his men peacefully. This went against all his combat insticts.
The Anemians, no matter how good allies would not be allowed to capture the TIN MEN, so he ordered them to go cross country, to saftey. Luckily, in mountainous terrain, they were the fastest thing outside of a helicopter, so they would be safe.
He then had all the Avoyas put their weapons and sensitive equiptment in a pile, and covered it in Demo charges. then he called the nearest Anemian.
"sir, here are our weapons: [BOOOM!!] now they are gone. We surrender ourselves to you. Our nation does not want war!"

At the sectyone, the TDPS officers made themselves known to the Anemos Major Major (Catch 22!). From the trunks of their Chevrolet Impala police vehicles they produced a series of long range scanners.
"Satellite inbound in five minutes", Corporal Black said, "we should hopefully get a life scan through...but we'll need to be quick as our satellite only will be in range for around 3 to 4 minutes."
"Sounds good to me, Black. Okay men. I want everyone in full arctic equipment. These vehicles are to go no further, we can't afford to lose them. Six men will stay behind to guard the equipment. Draw lots if you have to. Be ready in five."
OOC: My gun-ships and transports need to know where the micro-lite/snow-mobiles and the men can be let off.
Captain Schneider saw a Twin Dominions officer. He quickly beconned to him.
"sir, our nations are allies, and we are unfairly being accused of trespassing on this land. as you have seen we have destroyed our weapons, and are surrendering ourselves. However, we would like to ask your government to remember how we are good allies, and to try and protect us from prison."
He then repeated a similar idea to the nearest Ursava officer, in a desperate attempt not to be beaten, and so the international community would now of Anemos Major's gross mistake, and inhumanitarian ideals.
(OOC: Don't worry man I got you.)
The C-16 made its way to the landing stripped and touched down. After stopping it lowered its loading doors and the VAE armored cars unloaded, pulling behind them a AH-3 Viper. After the helicopter was out the bikes pulled out, atop of one of them a man who was obviously commanding these forces from the way he was barking out the orders. The soldiers readied the helicopter and it took off, hovering above the group while the commander approached a vehicle that had been waiting nearby Just lead the way and we will follow. he said before he turned around and entering a VAE. Soon all the vehicles that birthed from the C-16 were ready to move.
As the paratroopers approached the group of various soldiers they heard the pleas coming from Avoyan soldiers. The Field commander ran upto what appeared to be the Avoyan Commander, not fearing the various weapon aimed toward them and now at him. He looked into the mans eyes, who didn't even have to say a word for Commander Vlu to tell he was pleading, fearing for him and his mens safty. You could call it military intuition. He cocked his AD-142M Drakon battle-rifle and turned around aiming it directly at the head of the Anemonian commander, soon his men followed suit picking out their own targets. "Shoot." he said, tempting the Anemonian.
OOC: Avoya, it's "Ursavian" when referring to possesive style of speach but we haven't touched down yet so it doesn't matter. I'm just going to post as if I've already been given the coordinates.
The C-130s had already touched down, along with their gun-ship support, and were currently unloading their customised micro-lites. They were customised in the fact that it was essentially a snow-mobile with a hang glider on the top. It had a back seat similar to that on some motorcycles for a back-seat passenger and that was the gunner while the driver/pilot sat up front. It had a propellor in back which was part of the hang glider and this came off with a pull of the cord from the driver/pilot. Currently they were being loaded up and preparing to take off towards the last reported major occurence: the Avoyan forces.
The micro-lites began whirring and soon they were off. The pilots were peering through the tiny windows on the front of their extra light, customised snow-mobiles and any forces would be able to hear, within a certain distance: the high-pitched and steady wine of the propellor engines.
OOC: what about the original mission? I will email Anemos and tell him to come!

To: Rutianas
Earlier this year, our nation was attacked by terrorists who possessed Anthrax. Their actions could have caused hundreds of thousands of deaths in our capital, and it was only after long days of slaving away that the terrorists were defeated. It was confirmed that their location of origin was the Avoyan 'state' if you can even call it that, and we asked for an explanation, which they had refused to give. Therefore, we are officially at war with them until we have proof that it was not a governmental decision by them.
The Ranger commander, looking down the barrel of the assault rifle, smiled. "I am an Anemonian, soldier. Do you think that a rifle will make me quake with fear?" he pulled out a switch. "When I press this switch," he said, "this mountain will collapse. All of us will die and we will die with your rifles aimed at us. Your nation will be ravaged by the international community for firstly attempting to kill soldiers in their own land, and secondly for supporting an invasion. Do you really want to end your life with such a stain on you name? Sergeant!" he suddenly shouted, and out of the mountains, the many troops that had made it up appeared, their IFAM AR6s aimed. "Either way, the moment you fire your heads will be riddled with 6.8mm rounds. Your call, Nilpnt."
"What the hell are they doing?" Major Andor Szigeti asked retorically from the back of a micro-lite.
They could see the formation of forces below them, their shapes clear against the white of the snow. The micro-lites came in low, buzzing just over the heads of those in the group before slowly touching down in small clouds of poweder several feet away. Major Szigeti dismounted from the modified micro-lite's back seat and his men dismounted as well. They looked like a group of ghosts with the bagginess of their white, winter clothing and the only two things that stopped this illusion were the micro-lites and the weapons they all carried. Major Andor Szigeti approached, glaring through the area between the bottom of his helmet and the clothe on his face that came up to his nose.
"Mind if I ask what the hell is going no here?" Major Szigeti almost shouted.
Vlu began to laugh, subtly, but laughing, his weapon still firmly aimed toward the man. If I die here and now he said, his voice growing from humor to anger I will be remembered a hero, and your country shall be named after me when it is a colony for my motherland. He then lowered his weapon, calming himself down with a few breaths and thoughts of his family I beg of you do not be foolish he said, trying to find an understanding with the man Let use take these soldiers with us and we will leave. If you do decide to kill us, or keep us captive however you will grow to rue it, and your family and friends will suffer from the consequence of your actions.
In the group of mixed soldiers, several Nilpntze soldiers were sneaking their L45 handguns to the Avoyan soldiers, who out of their will for peace destroyed their weapons.
The AH-3 Viper flew above the convoy of armored cars and motorbikes, they were halfway there now. Unknown to them was what was taking place at this moment with the paratroopers.

To the Anemos Major Government,
We here at Avoya are sorry for any misunderstanding. We came into your land, responding for a cry for peace. that was misconstrued. We now apologize for any and all transgressions against your nations, both voluntary and involuntary, in thought, and word and deed.
OOC: sorry, that was the lord's prayer!
IC: we have been mistakenly accused of bringing antrax into your nation, when our nation did not exist at the time. Also, we do not love war. we brought together several ruthless mercenary groups, and imposed order on them. If anything, we are more civilized than you, as we do not threaten allies coming to help.
Regadless, we will take our men out of your nation, in whatever way suits you best. also we beg to the other nations involved in this conflict, not to escelate it, as it is out of hand, for no particular reason.
We just want to stress, that we have destroyed our weapons. we have notbrought tank divisions in, we have not pointed guns at peoples heads, we have not attempted to harm you or your nation in any way, and we do not wish to have war. whether you furfill these catagories, I will leave to other people to decide.

To: The Avoyan Government.
Do you not realise that if this explanation was given earlier, this would not have happened? Do you not realise that we have endured great pains to get here? We will not even pretend that you are our allies; the Kingdom of Mayaqoo is out peaceful ally, and we have a responsibility to defend it with our lives. We hope that none of our brave Rangers have had to do so.
Nine hundred and seventy five years ago, on the shores of Anemos, High lord Ilfir Erenthi said the flag of Anemos would forever fly. It is his will that has brought us here, his will that brought us through the threats of anthrax and rogue mercenaries, and his will that allowed us to stop your men before anything might have happened.
And a few months ago, we found Avoyans threatening us. It is the truth. Perhaps they may have come from your land before it was united. Perhaps they may have been out of your control. But one thing that is sure is that we will not allow such an attack to occur again, because we will fly the flag of Anemos for forever and that is why we will defend out citizens.
And not just our citizens. Our allies, our friends, our trade partners are all under the protection of the Crown. That is why today, the Holy Empire of Anemos Major, her people, her head of state and her ancestors ask you; was it your men who perpetrated this? Was it the mercenaries whom you incorporated into your lands who attacked us?
People died for this to happen. We hope that you do not take this lightly.
