History
The history of the modern Confederacy begins on July 21, 2008, when the rebel government group 真正的视线 ('True Sight' in Confederate Chinese) was founded, quickly becoming massively popular yet managing to remain secret. By December 2008, it had a cadre of agents in every Eastern Asian government, and on March 10, 2009, it pressed what was basically the equivalent of a large, red, unprotected button marked 'Destabilise'. At this point, every government in the area collapsed, mostly through economic concerns, leadership assassinations en masse, or uprisings.

The People's Republic of China, just beginning to adopt an expansionist policy, regarded this as the perfect opportunity to show off its military; thanks to True Sight efforts, however, it could only afford to deploy approximately one quarter of the military for stabilisation purposes - the rest of the military was tied up fighting off well-organised civilian vigilante groups funded by a number of ideological capitalists and socialists alike working with True Sight. While the People's Liberation Army was overstretched, True Sight forces struck Beijing, taking over from the government immediately - by June, thanks to well-funded propaganda efforts managed by cooperative yet mercenary propagandists, the new Confederacy of Eastern Asian States was the accepted legitimate government for all of Eastern Asia, and a very popular administration internally.

By September, the Confederacy was ready to face the rest of the world, and then-Foreign Affairs Director Hui Liu made the first move, broadcasting the Confederacy's existence loudly via an email sent through a mailing list of unprecedented size.
