Rikan nodded at the instructions given, taking off immediately with Mird right on her tail, a step or two behind. It wasn't long before they reached the crevice of interest, and having taken their time to simultaneously check for booby traps along their route, and making sure that there were no sensors or cameras near them.
Looking down at the ground where the 'path' had snaked its way down to the lower levels of this whole region, She scanned the shadows and listened carefully for a moment, a natural task for her since she usually worked alone. However, she let it rest a moment as she glanced at Mird, whom was watching her briefly.
With a single hand, she indicated that Mird hold up near here while she entered and reconned the crevice's purpose, if there was one. She bent down a moment and untied her boots and socks, stashing them in a dark patch of brush nearby. Giving another glance toward the Catawaban, she merely shrugged. He'd figured it out anyway. Boots, she could keep quiet, but absolute silence was achieved by bare feet. That, and it gave her slightly more dexterity if she required it's use, and already in her mind, after seeing the crevice up close, she surmised that she would be capable of planting herself higher up in the crevice, and hide in the shadows there if there were any unexpected patrols. She shifted her rifle to its sling, pushing it behind her back. Her hands drew a pair of combat knives, flipping them upside down in her grip.
Then, like a dream, she was gone into the darkness. It was a narrow crevice, but it was long, twisting around slightly as the path wove on deeper into the rock. A small amount of time passed before she emerged from the crevice and shook her head negatively toward Mird. 'Dead end.' she mouthed, and collecting her stashed clothing, she led the way back to where the others were waiting for the results of both recon efforts.
Approaching Gold like a shadow shifting in the light, she spoke quietly. "The crevice leads nowhere. A dead end." A glance toward where the other recon team had gone. "Any luck their way?"
