It was well known that Kanna was one of the most well known Pirates in all Xanadou. She was the Terror that haunted the dreams of Fordockians, Kiravians, Zanskis and others who dared crossed the Path of The Ryouese people. Hero of The Empire.

So it was a Big Surprise that a Web site soon came up for a odd Cargo Shipping company. It wasn't the Name of it, called "Xanadou Trade Inc.", nor was it that it was looking to expand from the Ryou Black Islands to the rest of the world.

OOC: I can't believe that I'm not considered as a threat

The Grand Holy Empire of Imota will formulate a work-safe response once we're done laughing.

Commander Stefan Krontinsky, captain of the RNS Blitz of Rammsteinburg's new Hawkeye-class nuclear powered heavy cruiser, sat in his cabin looking over the morning's dispatches. It was 0800 and his ship was currently 40 miles from The Ryou Black Islands on an independent patrol mission. The messages were mostly of no importance to him and Cmdr. Krotinsky skimmed through them with an expression of complete disinterest. He sighed as he came to the last one, took a sip of cold coffee, and ran his slender fingers through his fading red hair. 'Thank god it's the final one,' he thought.

Little did he know that another one was on its way, and its contents would be far from boring.

Just as he put down what he thought to be the final dispatch, somebody knocked on his watertight steel door. The captain was surprised -- not because a visitor to his cabin was an unusual occurrence (it was far from that), but because of the way in which whoever it was banged upon the door. It was a knock of passion -- the knock of somebody with important news to deliver. Krontinsky could not help but feel excited, but he did his best to repress this feeling, putting on his typical cold-as-ice, void of any emotion expression that his crew knew so well. His mind filled with wild fantasies of calls to action. It was silly, yes; but after two months of doing practically nothing, one couldn't blame him.

"Yes?" Krontinsky asked, sounding bored and tired.

"Dispatch just came in from XANPATINTEL, captain," said the messenger outside. Krontinsky recognized the youthful voice as that of Signalman Second Class Vogler.

"Come in," the captain ordered.

The cabin door entered and a lanky, blonde haired boy of 25 years of age entered. The captain always struggled to repress a smile when he saw the signalman. Vogler's tall and skinny build, combined with his donkey-like face and large ears, made him look almost ridiculous in his uniform. He always felt bad for finding amusement in the signalman's appearance, for he knew him to be an exceptional sailor.

Vogler stood at attention, saluted the captain, who quickly returned the gesture, and handed over a single sheet of paper, quickly jumping back to attention.

"Dismissed," Krontinsky said as his eyes began scanning the dispatch. The signalman obeyed.

Despite his best efforts, a smirk appeared on the captain's face. 'Hmm, isn't this interesting?' he thought.

The message was short:

"Convoy sighted departing The Ryou Black Islands at 0700. Cargo ships escorted by Ryouese warships. Believed to be pirate vessels. Be alert."

Cmdr. Krontinsky stood and buttoned up his shirt. He then proceeded to the bridge, where he called the crew to general quarters.

Legitimate Ryouese shipping has nothing to fear from the ASoGM. However, any piratical activity performed by ANY nation on ASoGM assets or in ASoGM waters will be dealt with in the manner previously described. This includes Xanadou Trade Inc. and the infamous Kanna. Furthermore, no Ryouese military ship will enter ASoGM territorial waters without permission from the ASoGM government.

OPEN MESSAGE TO Stoklomolvi AND Leistung

Seeing as our countries have pledged to defend the Xanadou region from these pirates we, the Stevidian Royal Navy, suggests that we pool our resources and work together to rout out the pirates in the region. The Royal Navy can boast here to have the most experiance in dealing with piracy but can learn much from the methods used by other willing naval allies. By working together we will be better able to tackle the pirate menance we're all facing.

Kurona is an honoured member of the Holy Empire and thus the Royal Navy already has a sizable presence in the region and so is more than willing to take the lead until your countries bring more naval assets to the scene. That is assuming, of course, you accept this proposal.

The seas are supposed to be free and they were until Ryou decided armed her civilian ships with weaponry. This designates them as military ships and seeing as they may be working under a pirate cartel organisation we can not take the risk that they are powerful pirate vessels themselves.

Ryou rightly fears the Stevidian Empire through word of mouth, personal experiance and simple power extertion. A fight between Stevidian forces and Ryou naval forces will be a short one at the best of time but they should not be under estimated. Leistung military forces are not unknown to the Holy Empire and likewise with Stoklomolvi, both nations are well known to the Stevidian government and we fully respect both your navies.

Our boarding of other ships only occurs if those ships attempt to board ours, or others in our waters. Any attempt at piracy against the ASoGM, or attempt at piracy in ASoGM waters will not be tolerated. Therefore, if Kanna and the Xanadou Trade company operates in a legal manner in ASoGM waters, and if they do not attempt anything illegal against ASoGM ships, the ASoGM will take no action against them. If Kanna or the Xanadou Trade company do commit illegal acts in ASoGM waters or against ASoGM shipping though, the ASoGM navy will deal with them harshly.

While Atlantic Command was issuing this message, plans were under way to start dispatching naval protection for ASoGM shipping, in case Kanna and the Xanadou Trade company attempted something. Also, ASoGM territorial waters patrols increased, in case of problems.

With the Pirate's Business from Ryou Black Islands becoming bigger and the fact that all Ryous Shipping have weapons to defend them from so called attacks, it was ordered that the Spec Ops on the Lynx Colony be reinforced with extra regular's and Hunters. However, their main concern was the civilian population that was also trying to build the cities of Lynx.

The military commander, Vamperial Headmaster Walker, was given command to the bulk of the Lynion Assassin's due to the Assassin's being trained on Lynx, and about 400,000 Lynion Regular's and Hunter's. It only happen when the Ryou started to arm their shipping and a pirate business was starting to trade. Their only orders were to establish rail guns and anti-shipping batteries around the colony as well as SAM sites. With the batteries and the sites installed, this would make defending the colony much easier. With mutli radar stations around the colony, there was little chance that the Ryous shipping could enter Lynx waters without being detected.

It has come to our attention that there is world opposition to a certain cargo company from the Ryou Black Islands, with whom relations are cordial at best, which is christened with the name of Xanadou Trade LTD under the direction of a woman known only, apparently, as Kanna. We, the Ixanian Empire, wish to make it known that legitimate Ryou shipping is more than welcome at our ports but, due to the controversy, we have no choice but to ban Kanna and any of her ships from any and all ports of the Ixanian Empire and those of its colonies. This is all a safety precaution due to the knowledge we posess that suggests Kanna's ties and affiliations to piracy such as her ongoing conflict with the people of East Congaree after employess of her standard, apparently, attacked ships of their trading fleet. Thus, we must take this into account. The Ixanian Empire shall and never will tolerate any pirate regardless of nation. All pirates who come forth to attack our nation's ships shall be dealt with as common criminals and punished severly as the situation demands.

Official Response from The Royal Navy Delegation in Kurona

Such a statement only further condemns your country to the wrath of our power. Although relations with your country have been strained over the past several months, the Holy Empire still officially regards Ryou as a friend. However since Ryou is a former state of the Holy Empire you will be only too aware of our strict laws regarding pirates and pirate activities, so friend or not- Ryouese shipping WILL now be directly targeted by the Royal Navy.

You threats of boarding our ships will not be taken lightly if at all seriously. Are you seriously suggesting that the Holy Empire of Stevid supports piracy? That the Royal Navy actually promotes and defends it criminal cause and thus is legitimately accountable for the drugs trade? Unless you can give us reason for you to board our vessels then we will ignore these threats. If you do find a good excuse we still won’t listen, boarding a Royal Navy will be considered an act of aggression and Ryou is fully aware of just what the Holy Empire is capable of- and the end result will be more than just a blockade and a few naval skirmishes.

Royal Navy shipping now have orders to shoot and destroy any and all Ryou shipping if they come within one mile of our vessels. Ryou has openly declared support for piracy and thus is not in the position to dictate terms of agreement for boarding actions. Your ships, and only your ships (plus those already suspected of piracy) will be boarded except from your military ships unless we deem it appropriate to do so. This course of action is harsh and borderline illegal and we are sure you will openly oppose it… but we haven’t admitted to sponsoring piracy and terrorism but also ask yourself this: What are you going to do to stop us?

HMS Ramious- Lemartes Class DD

The Lemartes Class was the pride and joy of the Royal Navy, reputed to be one of the best destroyer classes in the world. Armed to the teeth in the latest technology rivalling that of every country in the world, the extremely advanced (and expensive) prototype AA laser system was of particular brilliance. First used by Israel many, many years ago, the Stevidian experts in the field harnessed the technology and integrated a super heated light element into the system delivering short burst of blue colour energy pulse as hot as the surface of the sun several seconds after the cannon had fired. Albeit they require their own power source in the ship to be used it was the most effective way of completely destroying an enemy aircraft or missile. This weapon system was just one of the many utilities mounted on this ship.

The Ramious the 68th vessel of the class and part of the 7th Fleet used to defend the Eastern approaches to Stevid but now currently on colonial duties around the Xanadou region. With the rise in tensions yet again in this very volatile region the Ramious was at Condition Yellow. She was on anti-piracy duties, although one could now called it anti-Ryou duties seeing as they had orders to search Ryou shipping due to a political speech by Isabella supporting piracy and threatening foreign shipping. She had been careful not to mention Stevid but the Admiralty had seen straight through it, good relations or not- sponsors of piracy would receive the same treatment from the RN as much as the next country.

HMS Ramious received a coded message from the Admiralty. Ryou had not taken the threats seriously and continued to exert stupid amounts of arrogance to the growing threat to her boarders and trade routes. As if to think that they were untouchable. The Royal Navy had to prove that this wasn’t true, the Ryou economy was a wreck that was gradually recovering after nearly a decade of constant war, her armed forces were well funded regardless but not well trained for Ryou seemed to run everything off a production line and then just use conscription to get the soldiers in to run the equipment. The sailors were different and needed some experience but it was nothing compared to the men and women of the Royal Navy’s surface and underwater fleet. Their ships were largely inferior too, the Lemartes Class carried heavy anti-ship missile capable of taking out super dreadnoughts let alone frigates so a one-on-one combat was already had a decided winner. But what worried the Admiralty was the international fear some nations actually did have for Ryou, they didn’t want a war but they did want to bully Ryou but this was an option they didn’t have since Ryou declared war on whoever they liked. All the nations involved carried a reputation for being well equipped for war but this mattered little to Ryou… at least for everyone but Stevid.

Ryou had witnessed first hand what the Holy Empire could do and time and time again had given reference to other nations about the power of Royal Navy, even in this crisis they had officially stated it would be suicide to take on the Royal Navy let alone those belonging to The Bulb Colony or Leistung. The other nations could fire on Ryou shipping but it would lead to war and a costly one too. Stevid could engage at will and not worry quite so much about the repercussions of such action- it was for this reason that the Ramious was now at Condition Red and training her prow cannon on a Ryouese military frigate.

The frigate was by herself in international waters but the Ramious computer archives could not identify the ship’s name or code, only the class. This led the captain to believe she was brand new and not long out at sea meaning that the Ryouese crew would be new to the job and relatively inexperienced- perfect.
The Royal Navy had threatened action already, now it was time to really rattle the cage and to show everyone that Stevid was not going to be on the sidelines in this crisis. The rapid firing 4.5” cannon let of ten shells in the direction of the Ryouese frigate, all of the warning shots. The accurate gunnery put the shells exceptionally close to the frigate with closest being at least twenty metres. Another salvo was fired, this time five shells programmed to explode right above the Ryou frigate. Right on cue over two miles away puffs of black smoke appeared out of thin air as the shells exploded over the frigate. The shots were obvious to be warning ones and following the last salvo the Ramious sent an un-coded message to the frigate via data feed.

RYOUESE FRIGATE, YOU HAVE BEEN FIRED UPON BY THE HMS RAMIOUS OF THE STEVIDIAN ROYAL NAVY. THIS IS BUT A TASTE OF THE TRUE HORROR YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IF YOU APPROACH ANY FURTHER. THIS IS MERELY A PHYSICAL AND AUDIO WARNING THAT WHILE WE DO NOT TAKE YOUR THREATS SERIOUSLY, YOU SHOULD MOST CERTAINLY SHOULD TAKE OURS SERIOUSLY. ALL RYOU COMMERCIAL SHIPPING WILL BE SEARCHED FOR CONTRABAND AND THE CREWS WILL BE INTERROGATED REGARDING PIRATE ACTIVITIES.
