Attack on Allanean shipping (closed Attn Allanea)
OOC: this is closed only in the sense that I really doubt Allanea needs the help and the mercs. who have been hired have no allies. If you want in just ask OOCly or tg me.
IC:
The Varangian mercenary force had been hired to do as much as it could to disrupt Allanean trade by way of attacking its sea trade routes. The force had taken a week to work up but now, at the bequest of griffencrest were moving through international waters towards the Allanean shipping lanes and were flying the black and red flag of the Varangian mercs. The ships split into two groups. The three, smaller frigates moved off independently and spread out to intercept none military vessels as the Achilles, Ajax and Thetis moved directly into the shipping lane itself.

Offifical Message of the Allanean Navy
To all mercenaries operating against our shipping:
We declare a reward of 20 million dollars for every ship that surrenders, to be divided among the crew. If you want to mutiny, do it now.

Fortunately the mercenaries were fairly loyal and very well paid. Not a single ship took up the Allanean navy on their proposal but some probably would if things started going down hill. For now, though, they were content to begin the hunt. The entire fleet continued to steam towards Allanean waters now reaching the 800 km mark.

IC: The mercs had been given information that a port within Allanea named Gush-Katif was a potential weak point and one of the three frigates moved straight towards it followed by the other two and the rest of the fleet further back.
As the strange, unidentified warships approached within 300 kilometers of the Allanean harbor, a message was sent:
Unidentified warships. Please identify yourself and halt your progress towards our shore or you will be sunk.
The VNS "Sea Spray" Stopped and then began to try and retreat quickly. As they slowly began to speed up a message wassent in reply "this is the Varangian fleet vessel the VNS "sea Spray" we are currently experiencing some slight navigational difficulties we'll be on our way now." As the sea spray sen its message both Battlecruisers deployed UAVs which moved steathily inward towards the Allanean coast to try an determine what exactly was threatening the Frigate.
At which point they would see nothing unusual - of course, the Allanean shore was dotted with dozens of military bases, a naval complement was in the harbor, and the national waters were patrolled by the Coast Guard, and, strangely, there was also a single aircraft carrier in the area, painted beige.
Noting the lack of serious Navel force the Mercs came to a quick decision then the frigates rendezvoused with the rest of the fleet and they began to move towards the port.
As the enemy ships entered the range of 150 kilometers from the Allanean port, from one of the ships in harbor, 12 Tomahawk missiles were launched, two per enemy ship - but bizarrely, they were aimed slightly off-target, to confuse CIWS and defense system.
And each of them carried a 100-kiloton nuclear warhead.

IC: both of the battle cruisers had extensive anti missiles systems and the three frigates had something similar. sea skimmers might have had a shot, but that was highly unlikely, and more missiles could have saturated their defenses but twelve missiles, even aimed 10 kilometers away were still too few. CWIS systems and arrow missiles couldn't reach them and the two Pilum missiles missed but 15 Javelins and 50 Longbow missiles intercepted easily and shreads of the nukes floated down towards the fleet.
Aboard the VMS Achilles
"Sir those were nukes!" Said the ensign manning one of the coms. We've got incoming nuclear debrie sir. It wont effect us below deck, its pressurized, but the pilots on deck aren't protected sir."
"Shit," Replied Commodore Chase "launch a extended cap now then get them below decks and into NBC suits." 20 interceptors, 2 AWAKs and 30 strike fighters launched to provide cover as the remaining pilots and support crew scrambled to get under the deck.

Seeing that the enemy ships were not dead, the Allaneans took it a step up - they fired 100 of the high-velocity Shockhammer missiles at the carrier and 200 Tomahawk missiles at everything else.

OOC: Shockhammer has a range of 332 nautical miles. Tomahawk has 2500 kilometers. Neither are short range by any definition. Among these missiles are 12 with nuclear warheads, but you have no way of knowing which. THey're launched from various military installations alnog the coast - at this close range I have a broad choice.
OOC:ty dunno why i said shortrange. also I've tried to post this twice but both times a poweer outage torched it so this is . . .very very brief compared to what I had.

Realizing that after this attack the fleet would be in no condition to take ships and that the Allaneans were more than willing to risk killing their own so hostage taking was useless. the fleet back water fast and began to travel towards international waters. 200 Tlams were launched back at targets offered by fire finding radar as the Allanean missile launch came onto radar. 200 harpoon missiles were targeted at anything and everything in the harbor and 8 harpoons from the frigates targeted the single beige carrier along with 9 LRLAP 155mm projectiles. 13, 20" projectiles from the battle cruisers targeted any other identified military craft in the harbor and 5 20" shells targeted harbor facilities.following the missile storm came the 30 strike fighters of the CAP. Determined to finish any allanean ships left floating once the missiles storm was finished.

Varagian home base
the five escort ships normally assigned to the myrmidons had been moved out at the request of Commodore chase and were 2 000 km away from the beleaguered Varagian fleet. They were now moving to try and meet up with those ships.
Defensive Operations:
The Allanean response to the last missile barrage was simple. From every one of the warships in harbor, dozens of RAM missiles launched - 500 RAM missiles, 2.5 per enemy missile on average. What few would be missed would be chopped up by CIWS on the Allanean warships.
And simultaneously with that, 60 long-range anti-air missiles were launched at the incoming fighters.
Offensive Operations
A second missile barrage, identical in power to the first one, was fired - and then a third, following only two minutes later. Simultaneously, 5 long-range Tomahawk missiles were launched at the approaching escort ships.

IC: the mercs didn't even try to put up a fight just high tailed it out of the area. One damaged frigate was left behind as they fell behind and the crew moved over to another ship. all five remaining flew white flags as they high tailed it out symbolizing that they wouldn't be coming back and they didn't. the resource damage done to allanea should be enough to please griffencrest and anyway the ships were in no shape to perform any kind of combat action soon.
