Northern Chenko - Chrisman Union War (Open to a point)

CUN News Broadcast
At around 3 am GMT Soldiers from the A.S.C.U poured over the border between the fledgling nation Northern Chenko in attempt to stop the rogue general leading it from attempting to detonate Nuclear Warheads within Allied and Chrisman Union territory. Our president, Ulysses Garth, released this statement earlier today:
The Camera switches to a rather old man, possibly in late sixties in front of a podium reading a previously prepared speech.
"Friends. Relatives. People from human resources. We live in turbulent times. As you know, our large and prosperous nation is under a dire threat. A dictator in the North of our wonderful Union has ceased the province of Chenko and broken away. Currently, our brave soldiers are moving in to defuse the situation and remove the dictator from power. However, there is a more pressing issue when it comes to this rather small region: it is the site of the Kirin-Do missile launch site. This site has around six Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles with a launch radius of 5000 miles. I doubt you've heard of this site: it officially didn't exist till this morning. The dictator is not a Union born worker: he is a general sent from another nation who wishes to end our qualities of great Political and personally freedom. You don't need to worry, for the brave troops of the A.S.C.U.A.F shall defuse the situation in a matter of weeks. That is all. Sleep well. For a better planet."

NCBS News Report
Today, mere weeks after we finally gained autonomy from those fascist pig-dogs in the Chrisman Union, the forces of the imperialist slammed into our border, and have wiped out villages and decimated innocent lives. In response our glorious leader, General Choi Song, released this statement today:
The camera switches to a highly decorated, yet very young (around 27) military general in khaki fatigues. There are several armed soldiers dressed in similar fatigues and Russian style military hats.
People of Northern Chenko, and the world! We have been viciously assaulted by a totalitarian warlord! Already, villages, towns, and cities lie in wastes, with countless dead! I plead to the nations of the world to help us slow the beast and helps us survive the coming storm of fire! I have also heard the statement of the bare face liar called "President" Ulysses Garth. The people of Northern Chenko have no nuclear missiles or warheads! I repeat: we have no nuclear missiles!
There is a loud crump and masonry falls from the ceiling. Firing between AK-47s and M4A1 carbines can be heard in the distance.
"Turn that camera off! We'll resume once we've beaten back enemy troops."
The camera is lowered as if the user is reaching for a switch. There is a sudden bang, and a number of weapons are heard to go off mere meters away from the camera man. There is a scream, and the camera goes static.

Ralkovian special combat groups were dropped into northern chenko, they were officially not their but their mission was a simple one, support the fall back of the chrismas union. It was supposed to be secret seeing as the ralkovians were at a state of peace with the country and the emperor did not want to upset that delicate balance. The first task was to setup communications with the leader. It was time ralkovia made its move towards the NWO.

The A.S.C.U soldiers had burst in and taken the broadcasters by surprise. The advance of the Imperialist forces was terrifying, taking over 100 sq miles of NC land in a matter of hours. The cameraman were dead and as were 2 other khaki clad soldiers. But the "dictator" had disappeared from the tower block, onto a helipad, and taken off via a carefully positioned Mi-24 helicopter. Choi looked down on the recently erected border HQ. It was designed to watch for the unionist invasion. No-one, even the union itself wasn't expecting an invasion this close to autonomy.
Choi looked down on the fortress. A.S.C.U tanks stretched across for miles, and little dots of men ran into the destroyed ruins of the fortress gate. there were no signs of NC troops except the battered remains of the two BMP-2s that were guarding the gate.
Still, the Imperialist invaders had another surprise coming to them

Lieutenant Christian Veldt watched the armour advance across the snowy plains towards the defeated checkpoint from his M1A1 Abrams. The advance had been quite terrific. Northern Chenko's border fortress, which had originally been built t protect the Chrisman Union's weapons projects and so forth: which would explain how the separatists had were all well armed: for a rebellion anyway, had fallen easily, and now fire teams were clearing the lower floors.
"Sir?"
The radio crackled into life, and Veldt picked up the receiver. "What is it?"
"We're on the third floor underground, no contacts-asides a 1000 lb penetrator rigged to blow."
"What!?" Replied Veldt surprised "How they'd get that?"
"This used to be a research station for making this kind of stuff, I thought you knew that."
"Attempt to defuse that bomb," Veldt closed the channel and opened a broadcast to all units, "All A.S.C.U forces in the area of the Union-Chenko checkpoint: There is a large warhead underneath the base, and is rigged to explode. A fire team is working to defuse it, but it's in our best interest to move out of near vicinity of the fortress. Good luck."
Veldt now just hoped and prayed that the warhead didn't detonate....or at least with him in the immediate sector when it did.

22-09-2008, 16:31
(OOC: it is alright if I blow up the bomb? Cause it would make a cool post, and not many of your men will die.
The MI-24 circled around the battleground, giving Choi and his co-pilot a excellent view of the advancing forces. They must have found the bomb by now, thought Choi Lets make things more interesting. He reached for a detonator concealed in his jacket, and pressed the large red button on it. It would be only a few seconds until-
There was a deafening roar and a huge flash as the many underground tunnels collapsed, and the fortress slowly began to implode. But this was the mere tip of the
ice berg. The next was the explosion, which ripped through the complex as the large network of underground tunnels imploded in itself. Tanks fell down into the huge crater, and an unfortunate Black Hawk was caught in the immediate EMP wave, and span into a nearby hillside, bursting into flames. The complex, especially the huge fortress in the center, was unrecognizable, a mere ruin. A plume of smoke rose into the night sky, marking the end of the fortress that had dominated the area for many a year.
"Now, lets stir things up a bit more," said Choi, swinging the gunship back round to see if he could ruin the Imperialist's plans anymore. The armour would be unable to defend themselves, and retreating men would make easy targets. He let rip an AT-4 rocket into a M4A1, and it exploded in a immense detonation and sent the commander flying into the snow. He opened up with FFAR into a troop column, sending a jeep and 10 defenseless soldiers burning. "For such a warlike nation, these unionists are more bark than bite," said Choi as he turned the helicopter back and headed towards the nearest city, Mijolan.

Federation of Hurfdurfistan
Official Statement
Noting that the Democratic Republic of Northern Chenko (hereafter referred to as Northern Chenko) has a population of less than ten million people, the Federation of Hurfdurfistan finds it completely implausible that Northern Chenko has nuclear weapons; they simply cannot have the economy to support a nuclear program.
Given the aforementioned, the Federation of Hurfdurfistan finds that The People's Glorious Republic of The Chrisman Union (hereafter referred to as The Chrisman Union) has gone to war with Northern Chenko without casus belli. Moreover, Northern Chenko is so much smaller than The Chrisman Union that it is nigh-impossible that they can possibly fight off the foreign incursion without foreign aid.
Thus, the Federation of Hurfdurfistan hereby pledges military support to the Democratic Republic of Northern Chenko until such time as the lands of the aforementioned are free from the forces of The Chrisman Union.

(OOC: Northern Chenko used to be a province of my nation (well that's the fluff me and him worked out) and there was a nuclear missile launch pad within it's terriotory. He may not have the economy to have a nuclear program, but he can still capture the launch sites of their former rulers)
Lt Veldt looked around, dazed and confused. A huge plume of smoke rose above the site they had recently captured, and a network of little lines that must of been tunnels before they collapsed spread themselves across the area. The tank he was formerly in was in flames, as was a troop column trying to get through the border. Who he felt sorry for the most though were the 20 men and 3 MBTs inside the complex when it blew.
Veldt reached for his radio "Hell-cough-hello? Anyone-cough cough-alive?"
"We were lucky," came the reply from an unknown unit, "We could of be in the black hawk that slammed into the hill."
"Alright then," said Veldt, seeing if he could hitch a ride anywhere, "Continue on into NC, we can't let this minor set back bog us down."

People of the Glorious nation of Northern Chenko. The site our glorious leader was giving an uplifting speech yesterday has been obliterated in a dastardly plot to destroy our countries greatest leader. We have a report from above the field now:
The camera switches to the burning ruins of the border fortress. A number of armoured vehicles can be seen moving around the ruins.
"See? This is the lengths these fascist will go to destroy our fledgling nation," says an off screen voice, which the camera shows to be that of General Choi Song. He seems to be wanting a lot of media attention and has tried to get his voice out a lot recently. "These Imperialists are not after fictional Nuclear devices, they are wanting to enslave the people of Chenko! Please, people of the international community, they will not stop. They want an empire, and soon, if they do the unthinkable thing of conquering us, they will move onto other nations. We must stop them before it's too late!"

President Ulysses Garth sighed. This had been a bad idea, moving in to NC, and now other nations were joining in, except on the dictator's side. What was wrong? Was socialism so bad in the face of a full blown dictatorship? Northern Chenko wasn't a nation, merely an a county that got it's autonomy and refused to play ball when he wanted to get his nuclear material out of there. And if that monster of a dictator Choi guessed the password to the launch system....well, there wouldn't be much left of the Chrisman Union.
"Sir? It's time for a press conference," said one of his aides.
"Not again. What do the baying hounds of the media want now?"
"Not much, the speech is already prepared."
Garth stepped up onto the podium, like he had done 2 days ago. "Friends. Relatives. Members of the international community. I know you are flaming me for taking military action in the Northern Chenko theater. But I can assure you, the man controlling it is an insane, power hungry dictator. His people live in appalling conditions, and when we gave his nation autonomy from our own he locked down his borders so quick we couldn't get certain...weapons out of the region before they had been impounded by the 'government'. And if this rogue general works out passwords and codes, we would be staring a nuclear apocalypse dead in the face. Please, nations of the world: may I suggest you support our invasion of NC territory for these bastards (please excuse my language on National TV) will launch them and no nation is safe within 50000 miles of it's borders. It's for your own good to help us."

Choi's helicopter made touch down at Mijolan airport. Being this close, the town was on a war footing. Civilians had rushed out of the town, and tanks had replaced civilian cars on the roads, and life seemed to of left the once vibrant town.
Supplies that had been delivered by allied nations had been moved here, being the nearest serviceable airport to the border. Among the ammunition was a SU-27 fighter bomber, the jet that was to win them the war.
"Sir?"
A mechanic had ran up to the newly landed leader. "We have suited up the aircraft for the Raid. We can launch it whenever you wish."
Choi smiled. Soon, the Imperialist scum will really know what happens when you deal with a nation with many allies...

(OOC: *Gulp* you have been planning, haven't you NC)
"The city of Mijolan is about a mile away from our position, and is heavily fortified. We cannot continue into Chenko unless we annihilate the garrison in this town. We'll start with a artillery bombardment and concentrated airstrikes on targets like bridges and the airport. Once the main areas of enemy resistance are flattened tanks from 3rd armour brigade and the 12th Infantry would move into the city via," Lt Veldt circled a motorway leading into the city, "Here. Any questions?"
One of his artillery officers raised his hands. "Sir, our hands are dirty ever since we entered NC, are you sure shelling a civilian population is a good idea?"
"As far as we know, civilians have evacuated the city. If there are any in there, well, they're fucked, to say the least."
half an hour later, mobile artillery position itself in the hills, and 2 F-15 fighters with bunker buster bombs were flying in to destroy their predetermined targets: The airport control center and a motorway bridge. The ground shook as the first salvo of shells were fired into the dead city, leveling a office block and a few houses. The second salvo fired on another location, slamming into an armoured column traveling through the city streets. A power substation exploded as it over loaded and burst into flames as a shell hit it.
The planes swooped in. Veldt grabbed the laser designator on his portable desk and marked the closest target, the bridge. The bomb slammed into the bridge, opening a huge hole, falling through, and burrowing into the ground. The ground all around the town shook violently, there was a giant red flash, and the bridge and the surrounding area fell into the ground, sending smoke, flames and dust into the air. Tanks were sent flying. The first jet swooped back round, and headed for home. The second now flew in, heading for the airport control center. Veldt turned on the laser designator, his hands still shaking after the terrific blast, and bracing himself for the second detonation. The bomb fell, hitting the control tower and terminal, and burrowed into it. There was a moment of eerie silence, as if the artillery was pausing to watch the nearing spectacle. There was a rumble, Veldt's cup of coffee spilled on the floor and the same red flash ripped across the sky. The control tower collapsed onto the ground, and the terminal and a nearby hanger was blazing. Planes, both civilian and military, blazed, smoldered, and were crushed by falling masonry. Veldt could see using his binoculars little figures, mere toy soldiers, running around, trying to put out flames, trying to revive disturbingly still bodies.
But the bombardment for now was over. The former business district and suburban area were flattened or in flames. "Err...could I have another coffee?" said Veldt, as if oblivious to the flames of the dead city of Mijolan.
Northern Chenko
23-09-2008, 18:23
( you flattened my city! Nice way of telling it, and I'm sure I can use it to my advantage....hehehe)
"Excellent, we shall launch the planes in-" There was a loud whistle, then a spectacular explosion.
"What the hell was that? The Imperialists are shelling us!" shouted Choi over the din of explosions. Another shell streaked down and leveled skyscraper, which slowly collapsed onto the street bellow. An ammo dump, filled with large explosives that had been given to them by foreign powers, exploded as a shell streaked down into, making a large crater. Luckily the bomber jet was untouched. Suddenly the bombardment stop, leaving an uneasy silence. Men tried to put out the raging flames, and some tried run for shelter. There was a roaring of a jet, and a F-15 swooped over downtown, near the the highway overpass. There was a huge flash, and th slight arch of the overpass that could be seen from the airport disappeared, along with most the surrounding district. The fighter swooped away, leaving yet another eerie silence.
Suddenly, another fighter dipped in from the clouds, heading straight for the airport where Choi was standing! He ran for cover in the form of a large wall, watched in horror as a large ordinance slammed into the control tower, passed right through it, and Exploded with a blinding flash and a shockwave that made Choi's teeth chatter. The tower collapsed, and fell towards him. It just missed him, but he was covered in masonry. The fighter bomber was burning. Damn. That aircraft was to carry a large explosive, preferable nuclear if he could get hold of it, and drop it on the Imperialist's government center, wiping them out of the war. Then, Chenko would slowly expand, and subsume the former Chrisman Union. It was a brilliant plan. Too bad they just destroyed it on the ground.
"Come on! Rally the defense force! We shall meet the Unionists on the fields outside Mijolan!"
Soldiers dressed in the standard Khaki fatigues and russian military hat moved into the ruins of the outer suburbs and office district. Troops hid themselves in the rubble, and were armed with RPGs and PKs. The incoming fire would shred ground troops and light armour/ vehicles. It would be enough till reinforcements arrived.
The only armour that survived the artillery barrage was a column of T-62s, but more was on the way. No air support had survived the brutal bombings. It would be a tough fight, but they would take as many of the imperialists with them.
The chrisman union
23-09-2008, 21:15
The Abrams tanks and troops set off to take the city. resistance would be light-nothing could have survived such an intense bombardment. The first contact was made: 2 T-62s advancing up a city street, with around 6 men armed with Aks following. A single shell from Veldt's tank obliterated the lead T-62, sending fragments of tank and an enemy soldier flying across the battlefield. Another shell from the tank just behind Veldt's slammed into the tank that was boxed in by it's comrades ruins, and that one too exploded. The enemy soldiers retreated in the ruins. So these are the forces that leveled a fortress with a single warhead? These are the forces that destroyed my previous tank? And they run at the firing of a cannon? thought Veldt in disgust as they retreated "Send a fireteam in to eliminate those cowards. Move!" A fireteam moved in to 'eliminate' the retreating soldiers. A number of gunshots could be heard. The fireteam did not emerge. "Hello? Are you there?" Static. Veldt shrugged. Must of gotten lost. THe tanks continued to move, until there was a loud FWWWWOOOSSH!!!!! and a "KABLANG!" the tank stopped moving, treads destroyed by a RPG hit. Veldt mounted the pintle .50 cal, followed the vapour trail and fired into the building where the rocket had originated. The wall smashed to pieces and a bloody rag that was the RPG soldier fell from the top floor. The tanks main cannon fired into a building, destroying it and it's occupants. Infantry was being mowed down by the NC soldiers carefully positioned machine gun nests. Veldt, having expended his .50 cal's ammo, got out the tank, drew his pistol and followed a squadron of allied soldiers. He kicked down the door of an occupied house. The troops behind flanked the machine gunners, killing them and then heading back down to move to next house. This was the brutality of real war. Veldt preferred the one involving coffee and ordering artillery barrages.
Speaking of coffee, he'd left his flask in the tank....damn....

The smoking ruins of the suburbs were clear (at least the one Veldt was in). Another Infantry and tank column was heading for the business district, and it seemed the one he was with was moving too. He hitched a ride with another Abrams, and headed there. Resistance was light. It was eerily quiet. A flock of pigeons flew away as the tanks rolled past.
"We've got contacts to the left," came an announcement from the lead tank, "They don't look like normal NC ta-" The Abrams exploded in an immense detonation. Incredibly accurate sniper fire cut down the lead soldiers, and automatic fire from the buildings bounced of the tank, and cut down infantry. NC soldiers jumped out of the ruins armed with high tech weaponry, and advance MBTs rolled out of ambush points.
The immediate battle was lost in the first 10 minutes. NC had the technology, the superior strategy, and the element of surprise. The Chrisman Union attack force scattered and headed for the hills. Retreating forces were picked off, and only a fraction of the forces sent into the city got out alive.
Someone had been making this small nation powerful. Someone must have been training them and supplying them.
When retreating, Veldt was sure that the tanks had Syngian markings...they would have to review this..
"Whilst retreating, Veldt threw a red smoke beacon at the area they had just been standing "Fire on the beacon," Veldt radioed the Artillery officers, "Let none of these well equipped soldiers and advanced tanks leave the area."
***********************************************
Veldt watched with satisfaction as the artillery obliterated the area. Ruins toppled and even those new tanks were disabled. But they were certainly tough, taking a direct hit to obliterate it. Still, Veldt had a plan. If they couldn't take the city, P.R.C.U had a very strong nuclear program....

"Well, we can't take the city be force, and now they have air support. None of our plains can get in, and we're almost out of artillery shells," said one of Veldt's subordinates, "We really have very little choice, and their bound to accept."
"Alright," said Veldt, "We'll send in a party with the message for the NC command. Any volunteers?"
No hands were raised.
"Fine, I'll go do it myself."
Later on, Veldt, in the fatigues of a standard soldier, and armed with a white flag, and a telegram.
"WHO GOES THERE!" came a shout from a guard, weapon raised.
"I am an unarmed negotiator, and wish an audience with the Northern Chenko High Command."
"Right, we shall escort you."
The command base was in the ruins of the airport, or at least he thought it was. The terminal and Control Tower had been flattened by a bunker buster bomb, and the runway was pockmarked with craters. The dictator himself met him.
"What is it you wish to negotiate."
"I only wish to give you this telegram. I shall leave you to read it alone and you will send another messenger to voice your reply. Goodbye." Veldt was escorted back to field he was picked up from, and returned to his lines.
The telegram read:
Dear Bastards,
I would really hate to be in your shoes at the moment. You must surrender all arms and become a province of the P.R.C.U within 12 hours, or face 2 ICBMs, one slamming into this city, the other into your capital, Hwangbo, isn't it?

"What is it you wish to negotiate."
"I only wish to give you this telegram. I shall leave you to read it alone and you will send another messenger to voice your reply. Goodbye." Veldt was escorted back to field he was picked up from, and returned to his lines.
The telegram read:
Dear Bastards,
I would really hate to be in your shoes at the moment. You must surrender all arms and become a province of the P.R.C.U within 12 hours, or face 2 ICBMs, one slamming into this city, the other into your capital, Hwangbo, isn't it?
The choice is yours surrender or die.

Eight Jianghu-I class frigates departed from the base, followed by four Whiskey class submarines. They were headed to go off the North Chenko coast and begin an attack on the largest port city in North Chenko.
