OOC: I have to admit, you've gotten A LOT better at designing things. While the design could use some minor tune ups, there really isn't any glaring problems to fix. Good job overall.

OOC:Just got a few questions. By the M242, do you mean a Bushmaster chain gun (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M242_Bushmaster)? Also is that commander's M2 mounted in a remote-controlled weapon station? And are those ATGMs launched from the main gun or are there exterior launchers?
Roef
21-09-2008, 16:45
OOC: yea sort of that chain gun. The commanders gun, is mounted into the weapon station, and the missiles from the main gun i suppose.

OOC: Amazing, great job on the deign.

To: Roef

Our nation would like to purchase 120 MBT-11 for testing purposes. Should they meet our expectations we would like to place an order for 1,500 more models. Money will be wired upon acceptance.

Suggestion: Apologies for not posting this on the NSDraftroom, but I recommend that you slightly revise your write-up to make for more detail.

OOC: Right, i'l think of it...
And Totemic, i didnt named a price yet... But i will sell you 120 with happynes.
What shoud be the price? 2 million? 3 million?
Holy Marsh
22-09-2008, 17:30
OOC: You're looking at around $4 million, which is rather good. (The reason the firrst 20,000 HAT-1s are only $2 million is because I am getting rid of excess stock post-war. Normal prouction models are $8 million.)
Roef
22-09-2008, 17:33
OOC: Alright, 4 million.

IC:
To: Totemic head of military

From: Roef president; Simon Algo

We have found a price. 4 million each, witch is around 480 million for all.
But, around 450 million will do. Thank you.

OOC: What is the Tanks Range is millage, that is a big factor in a tanks usefulness.
Roef
23-09-2008, 13:59
Range? about 9 miles.
Lynion
23-09-2008, 14:02
OOC: You're getting better at your designs Roef and the range is pretty long but must be worth it.
Holy Marsh
23-09-2008, 14:07
OOC: There is not a tank that can get 9 miles a gallon, not even close, and with what you have you're looking at most about one mile a gallon.
Roef
23-09-2008, 14:10
I dont think, that one mile is most. Atleast 3 or 4 miles.
Holy Marsh
23-09-2008, 14:12
OOC: For a MBT? Yes, considering that you have DU, a 120MM cannon, missiles, etc.
Roef
23-09-2008, 14:12
OOC: Its range is, lets say, 5 miles.
Holy Marsh
23-09-2008, 14:17
OOC: You have a turbine engine. You aren't going to get 5 miles a gallon. At best, with a turbine engine and weighing 6 tons more than the M1A2(It weights 61 metric tons, 67 short tonnes while this tank weighs 67 base tons.) you are looking at one mile. There is not a MBT in service on this planet that uses anything you use that gets more than two, to my knowledge. And with everything you have? Yeah, one.
Roef
23-09-2008, 14:21
I dont agree.
Holy Marsh
23-09-2008, 14:24
OOC: Then don't, but anyone who buys this tank should know there is no way on Earth this tank could get nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, or three miles a gallon. Even two miles is a stretch, considering what you have on it.
Lynion
23-09-2008, 14:29
OOC: I'm confuse about something. Do you mean 9 miles as in range of operations or 9 miles as in range of the cannon?
Roef
23-09-2008, 14:30
OOC: Cannon
Holy Marsh
23-09-2008, 14:32
OOC: I'm confused as well. I think he is discussing gas mileage. The nine miles cannon range would be impossible for any MT design, and it can't be done considering he uses a slight modification of a RL cannon(That itself has been passed on by a superior cannon.). Either way, it is IMPOSSIBLE.
Lynion
23-09-2008, 14:45
OOC: The longest shot I've heard from a battle tank was in the Gulf War by a British Challenger 2 Battle Tank with the range of 5.1km or 4.1km and destroyed the Iraqi T-56 Battle Tank in one shot. I think the resonable shot is 2km at the most.
Holy Marsh
23-09-2008, 14:50
OOC:
4.1 KM: 2.5 miles
5.1 KM: 3.2 miles
And this was like a world record, and using a different gun system tha the L44, which is what Roef's design is based off of. He won't get more than a mile, reliable shot.
Lynion
23-09-2008, 14:52
OOC: Roef, go a max of 2 miles is what I think is a resonable range for the cannon. Didn't this go through the Draftroom?

Yes, I heard that too. For your information Roef, Lynion & Holy Marsh are correct on the range of both the cannon and the tank itself.

I dont agree.

You don't have to agree, you're still wrong. As HM pointed out;

The nine miles cannon range would be impossible for any MT design, and it can't be done considering he uses a slight modification of a RL cannon(That itself has been passed on by a superior cannon.). Either way, it is IMPOSSIBLE.

The bold part is very important. Are you telling me that you ran this by the Draftroom, and they approved it?
Holy Marsh
23-09-2008, 14:55
They did not approve it. They did not approve of this tank, they still had many questions. He just didn't answer them or gave poor answers. He has potential, but has aproblem listening to and implementing advice.
Holy Marsh
23-09-2008, 14:56
PS: 2 Km is like 1.25 miles, so that should be the max reliable range.
Lynion
23-09-2008, 14:58
OOC: 1.25 miles does sound like the average range for a tank cannon or 2km as I put it. If you go any bigger, it'll have to have a bigger calabier and weapon system.

So we keep telling him. I know The Macabees, who started the NS Draftroom thread. I'll ask him what his opinion is.

I mean in total like, on a full tank of gas it could go 300 miles. The M1 Abrams has a range of 289 miles. that's what I mean is the operation range.
Generals need that so they can plan the logistics for the tanks. the more range the farther the tanks can go before they have to halt the advance for supplies.
