SO here's the promised tips.
1. You should compare several products from different storefronts to see what you like and what would best cater to your (fictional) military's needs.
2. For the sake of realism, when I buy things on NS (usually I just make them now) I ordinarily either by the Domestic Production Rights and a few starting models, or I buy them in installments. DOmestic production rights (DPR in II Speak) allow you to produce your own weapons and vehicles in your nation for either an indefinate term, or for a term of a few years. For instance my DPRs pn small arms are usually for a single year but I never enforce it because its a pain.
3. Some nations and storefronts (such as mine) are also sometimes able to be convinced to expand into your nation, providing lower cost equipment to your nation, increasing your economy's in character power with more jobs, and it ensures that you have a steady supply of certain things much like a DPR does.
4. Like I said before, shop around, there are litterally dozens, maybe even more than a hundred storefronts, many of them excellent ones with a massive variety of products for you to check out, for me shopping was one of the more fun aspects of starting on NS.
5. Check the stickies at the very top of this forum, they are full of useful advice on pretty much everything about Rping on NS.
6. If your nation is starting out you population would be in the low millions meaning that you would only need a few hundred thousand weapons or a couple million at the most with your purchases and its best to vary things in case you get in an RP, meaning squad support weapons, primary battle rifles, and stuff, the usual NS guidline is between 3 to I think 10% of your population is armed forces. For instance I play as a 309 million population nation with about 22 million total armed forces and that includes reserves and national guard type units.

As for recomendations, the Ares III, which you were interested in buying is one of the best Assault Weapons on NS and has been used by over 30 nations, not sure who still uses it now though since many people change thier weapons between war RPs.

The Tigerclaw is a very good Multirole Fighter with a relatively low cost to maintain, it was designed to be serviceable by only a 5 man crew and can use highways for landing strips.

The Artemis is a solid ground attacker and tank buster that can perform mutliple mission types. Its similar to the A-10 Warthog of real life, and its very cost effiecient.

UAVs are one of the big things today on NS for gathering critical intel and I offer a few of those.

As for others, like I said, shop around and pick what you like best.

They should have the correct number of assault weapons, support weapons, grenades, pistols, explosives, and body armour. also, they will need transport, be it by parachute, or truck (transported by plane).

We have decided to let you choose the correct equiptment, as you know your material the best.

We have allocated $5 000 per man, with an additional $15 000 per squad of 8, for radios, and specialist equiptment so 8 men will get $55 000 USD of equiptment. In addition, we will supply $500 000 000 for transport, and $250 000 000 for additional equiptment (aircraft, helicopters, tanks ect).

So we have a total of $818 Million for a 10 000 man brigade. However we will boost that to $1 Billion if you transport and train the men correctly. The men are ready to be moved out, on confirmation of the order. We also request an inventory of what we are recieving.

Sorry about being so slow, I have been quite distracted lately.
