Mitchell Ross:

From the High Karshka Mountains off the Great Northland Sea, I bid you all Good Evening, Good Morning, Good Afternoon where ever you may be across these many, many time zones... and let me assure you, we cover them all. Stretching from the The Ryou Black Islands in the west, east to the coasts of Aissur, South into Thrashia, all the way to the North Pole and world-wide on the Internet, you have just connected to the world's #1 most listened to late-night talk show...This is "Into the Unknown". I'm Michael Ross. Tonight is Tuesday, the 16th of September.

Next hour: Investigative reporter Anna Wiesienberg joins us to talk about her book "Above Top Secret: The hidden human genetics program of Karshkovia" and what it means to the world.

First I want to welcome our new affiliates to the Unknown family. Boy, this list just keeps growing daily it seems; WRTO FM in Ralkovia, KVRT AM and WRTG FM in Oseato , KYUO AM and KAST AM in Stoklomolvi , and KPRO AM in Chernobl. Thank you for joining the very long list of "Into the Unknown" Affiliates. And now for the world news:

Well, scientists from around the world were surprised to find a previously unknown massive comet-like object just inside Neptune's orbit. The object is at least 30 miles wide and is on the return leg of a 22,500 year journey around the sun. It has been cataloged as 2006SQ372, for those of you that love astronomy, and it is just over two billion miles from earth. Its elongated orbit takes it to over 150 billion miles, or nearly 1,600 times the distance from the Earth to the Sun. Scientists have stated that 2006SQ372 is basically a comet, however its orbit does not take it close enough to the Sun to develop a long, bright tail of evaporated gas and dust.

In Alfegos, a 'ghost girl' is blamed for a series of automotive crashes, some fatal, on a stretch of highway just outside of New Zevkhay. Witnesses, many whom do not know each other and have no prior knowledge of any prior incidents, have all claimed to see a young blond girl of five or six years of age dressed in modern clothing and holding a ragged, brown stuffed toy rabbit. The girl is stated in each report to have run from the side of the road out onto the west-bound lanes, bent down and retrieved her toy rabbit from the middle of the center lane. Drivers who have not swerved or could not stop their vehicles before reaching where the ghost girl was standing have reported hearing a little girl scream just as they pass over the figure. So far twenty-three people have died in accidents at that area. Law enforcement officers have stated that no children have been hit on that stretch of the highway that they know of and are baffled by the witness reports. Paranormal investigator groups are currently petitioning for permission to set up cameras and other equipment as to catch this phenomenon as it happens. So far all requests have been denied by Law Enforcement citing safety concerns.

The first ever Díenstad Cup; a regional soccer tournament consisting of twenty-six national teams is set to begin next week. The victor of this tournament will be able to go onto the World Cup. Only teams in the region of Greater Díenstad are eligible to partake in the competition, leaving only the best team from the region to move onto the World Cup finals. I wish all the participants the best of luck.

A Orbath woman has killed her drunken husband with, get this, a folding couch of all things! The man's wife, upset with her husband for being drunk and refusing to get up, kicked the side of the couch during an argument. In disgust, the woman left the house and stayed with friends for the night returning the next day to find her husband missing. A search of the home found the man folded up in the couch. Police investigators stated that the kick jarred the mechanism which automatically folds the bed back into a couch. After the wife left, the husband had walked to the couple's refrigerator to get another beer. After he returned to the couch, the jarring of his body on the bed triggered the mechanism to fold the bed up. The man fell in-between the mattress and the back of the couch, where he had died from asphyxiation. No charges are being filed against the wife.

In Yanitaria an 18 year old man is being charged with murder after the body of his girlfriend's mother was found inside a suitcase abandoned in the local woods. Authorities said the victim's daughter said she helped her boyfriend put the body in a suitcase and then disposed of it.

Young men who die suddenly after being arrested by police may be victims of a new syndrome similar to one that kills wild animals that have been captured according to Greal researchers. Paul Freeman of the Steale Research hospital said that his team reached a conclusion after investigating 60 cases of sudden, unexplained deaths in Greal following police detention. Just why they die remains a mystery but he and his team believe that, young men in particular, may experience surges in blood levels of chemicals when under severe stress such as adrenaline and that contributes to their instant deaths.

In Pan-Arab Barronia a national rapid response team is deployed currently in the country's heartland to try and contain a bee-mite parasite that is posing a threat to Pan-Arab Barronia’s the two billion dollar commercial honeybee industry and the country's agriculture.

If you watch movies, you may remember the award-winning "Gladiator" with Richard Harris playing the Oscar-winning Marcus Aralias, well Marcus Aralias has been found...sort of. Parts of a giant carved marble sculpture depicting the Roman Emperor have been found at an archeological site in The Ryou Black Islands. Just the head alone is three feet wide. We have a picture of that up at the website, IntotheUnknow.com

Two brothers who ran a funeral home in Uiri pleaded guilty to selling corpses to a Vetalia company that then shipped stolen body parts. The company took bodies from funeral homes all over Uiri, carved them up without family permission and without medical tests. The parts, some of them diseased, were sold to hospitals all over the world for dental implants, knee and hip replacements, heart transplants and other procedures. Among the corpses plundered was that of "Masterpiece Theater" host, Alastair Cook.

Preliminary police lab tests show that there were traces of Chloroform in the car of the mother of a missing Belschaft girl. Christine Anthony's computer, confiscated within hours of her arrest in July on charges of child neglect, making false statements to police, and obstruction of justice, showed visits to websites with information about chloroform. Now the discovery of chloroform, a chemical compound that can be used to incapacitate crime victims, is a piece of evidence prosecutors will use in their case of missing three year old, Kayla Anthony. Earlier, investigators said they found evidence of human decomposition in the trunk of Christine Anthony's car. Law enforcement officials also suggested that a strand of hair found in the trunk of the car was Kayla’s. Christine reported Kayla missing in July, a month after the last known sighting of her.

Karshkovian authorities are urging citizens of the Napu Valley area, which is approximately 200 miles south of Minski, to evacuate and evacuate now. Wild fires started by an electrical storm more than two weeks ago still rage unchecked at the base of the Karshka Mountains. High, dry winds sweeping down from the mountains prevent firefighters from bringing the fire under control. Earlier today the fire jumped a fire-line and threatens to destroy approximately two-thousand single family homes that lay in the Napu Valley. The President has ordered seven thousand regular army soldiers to assist in the evacuations and in stopping this inferno.

I have to chuckle at this next news story: A cat survived a two and a half hour trip riding on top of a spare tire under her owner's truck in Imbrinium. Paul Grissom drove from his home to a business meeting one hundred miles away. When he got out of the truck, he heard a cat in distress and realized it was his. Grissom said that the cat, Bella, was hysterical, shaky, tired, and wide-eyed. Bella, it seemed, was smart enough to know not to jump off the tire as the truck was moving. A vet was called to check the cat over and pronounced her in good health and was none the worse for her trip. Grissom has said he is changing the cat's name to Bella Lucky.

The Maldorians government has posted a list of prescription drugs under investigation for potential safety problems in an effort to better inform doctors and patients. We have a link to this list up on our website, intotheunknown.com. The list has over 200 medications with their name-brand, generic names, and potential issue for each. It provides no indication on how wide spread or serious the problems might be. This has drawn criticism from some consumer advocate groups and the major drug makers as they question this list's usefulness.

The oldest gorilla in captivity, a 55 year old female name "Jenny" has died at the Alfegos capital zoo, her home for half a century. Zoo officials decided to euthanize Jenny because of an in-operable tumor in her stomach. Jenny captured the hearts of the world by mothering abandoned kittens donated from a local pet shelter.

As I reported last night, the Stoklomolvi comet probe "Ranger 1" swung past an asteroid "Rosetta" and gathered the first ever close-up pictures and data on the asteroid. It is one of two scheduled 'pit-stops' while Ranger is on its way to a distant comet. They have a press conference tomorrow where they will release pictures and data for scientists around the world to review.

More than a week after a devastating earthquake ravaged Tazhistan, information has trickled out of the isolationist nation. The 7.9 magnitude quake has reportedly killed over 40,000 people in central Tazhistan and rescuers have shifted their focus from searched for survivors to caring for the injured and homeless. After being rescued four days after the quake, a woman is said to have survived by drinking rain water that trickled down to her while she was trapped in the rubble. Due to Tazhistan's news black-out, it is unknown what her medical condition is currently.

Ridding on the tail of that story, scientists have an important advance in their efforts to predict earthquakes. A team of Karshkovian researchers detected stress-induced changes in rocks that occurred hours before the earthquake 500 miles to the west in Tazhistan. The observations used sensors that were lowered down holes drilled in Karshkovia around a fault that branches from the one which caused the deadly Tazhistan quake. The team says they are a long way from routine tremor and quake forecasting however this may be one step in a breakthrough for an earthquake early-warning system.

Blackhelm Confederacy’s agriculture secretary has announced that a total ban on meat plant slaughter of cows and bison to sick or weak to stand takes effect immediately. The new law comes in the wake of the nation's largest beef recall and would close a loophole that allows a small number of "downer cattle" into the food supply if they passed veterinarian inspection. "Downer Cattle" posed an increased risk for Mad Cow Disease and other infections, partly because they wallow around in feces. They are already mostly banned from slaughter, however under the old law they could be allowed if they fall after passing an initial inspection, are re-inspected and pass that inspection as well. Meat suppliers have voiced their strenuous objections to this new law, which they say could cost them over 1 Billion Universal Standard Dollars.

The People's Palace in Karshkovia has denied a report from the nation of Lumony that Karshkovian President Vladimir Radchenko plans to attack Tazhistan during the up-coming Christmas holiday. A story in the "World Town Square" newspaper quoted a senior intelligence official there as saying that Mr. Radchenko plans to attack Tazhistan in the coming months. The story says the unidentified official claimed that a senior member of President Radchenko's cabinet made a statement about attacking Tazhistan in a closed meeting. The President was in Lumony last week negotiating trade relations.

In a moment Richard Phedra joins us, "Trends: They affect you." And he is next at Into the Unknown.

Tonight is Saturday, the 20th of September.

Boy, I have a lot of news for you tonight and next hour, and I want to warn you right now and this is a warning; we've got a well respected doctor, Dr. Gary C. Rittenhammer M.D. who has studied the Bird Flu and he is going to scare the hell out of you. He certainly scared the hell out of me, he sent me a copy of his book and I read it...and I called him right away to get him on the program and that is why he is on tonight. So, that will be in the next hour. Also, updates on Mothman sightings in Orbath and new reports of chupacabra activity in Pan-Arab Barronia.

Big trouble in Tazhistan. In fact I had to call my guest to be sure he had phone access still and power because about a million people in Tazhistan do not right now. Howling straight-line winds of sixty miles per hours and gusts up to seventy...Seventy! Pelting rain driving visibility on the roadways to near zero, and quarter-sized hail pumpled a large area of Tazhistan earlier today as a massive line of super-cell thunderstorms, the worst seen in over fifty years, slammed their way across the country's mid-section. These thunderstorms have produced over thirty separate tornados! Dubbed the "Tornadocain", this massive tornado producing series of super-cell thunderstorms has the circulation characteristics of a hurricane! The storms have mostly dissipated though scattered storms are still causing further damage to the country. Our best wishes to all those affected by the storm.

Well, the Commonwealth Air Defense Command went on high alert the yesterday after a Greali airliner's transponder malfunctioned. A pair of F-15s scrambled into the air from nearby El Taro airbase to intercept what was thought to be a sneak bomber attack. Interesting. Once in the air the pilots were given authority to shoot down the intruding aircraft if it refused to respond to instruction. After intercepting the airliner and putting it in contact with ATC, the airliner landed at their destination escorted by the F-15’s. Passengers mentioned to reporters about being startled as the two jets flew close by. The Commonwealth of Free United States Defense Department was quick to respond to allegations of excessive response, "While the incident was avoidable, it demonstrated the quick response of our forces against intruding aircraft." No word from Greal yet on their response to this act.

A wedding in the Presidential Residence? It seems there will be according to inside sources. Premier Steven Vincent Galindo, a long-time bachelor and the 22nd President of The Commonwealth of Free United States, has spoken about marriage to Samantha Lexi, the National Security Advisor, and word is she said yes. Both have been longtime comrades, having served together in the military. An official release from Press Secretary Marianne Leonne says, "The Premier has long seen his status as a bachelor as a private decision and unwarranted for discussion. If he should choose to marry in the future, it is his prerogative and would like as much privacy on the matter as possible." Reports from new sources inside the FUS state that the citizens are quite pleased with his match and has bolstered some new support for the Government. Everyone from here at the “Into The Unknown” program and I am sure all people of Karshkovia would join me in wishing the Premier and National Security Advisor the best for their wedding day and to have a long marriage.

Alfegos astronomers are puzzling hard over a powerful cosmic explosion that appears to have detonated in a region of empty space! It's very far away from any galaxy and some are speculating it may have been the death-cry of a star that was born from debris strewn out from a past galactic dust-up between two galaxies or a star flung away as two galaxies joined together. Sixty spacecraft around earth and mars detected a powerful volley of gamma rays that lasted about a minute. Such explosions called "Long Gamma Ray Bursts" are thought to be caused by massive stars exploding and their cores collapsing into black holes but this one came from an area where there was virtually nothing! How can that be? Exploding star or exploding alien weapons? You decide.

Westobia....Yes, Westobia is in the news again. This time have developed a new class of micro sized nuclear reactors that are designed to power individual apartment buildings or city blocks. The new reactor measures only 20 feet by 6 feet could change everything for small, remote communities, small businesses or even a group of neighbors who are simply feed up with power companies and want more control over their own energy needs. Listen to this, the 200kW Blackhelm Confederacy-designed reactor is engineered to be fail-safe, totally automatic, won't overheat and unlike conventional nuclear reactor, the new micro-reactor uses no control rods to initiate the reaction. The new revolutionary technology uses reservoirs of liquid lithium-six that is an isotope that is effective in absorbing neutrons. The Lithium-Six reservoirs are connected to a vertical tube that fits down into the reactor core. The whole process is self-sustaining and can last up to forty years and produces electricity for about Five Universal Standard Cents per Kilowatt hour. This is about half to a quarter...or more....the cost of standard grid energy provided in most countries in the world. The Blackhelm Confederacy Company is saying they expect to install the first reactor in Karshkovia within the month and will begin to market the new reactor the world over in late 2008.

Karshkovia stated earlier today that it is leading the race to complete a manned mission to Mars and could land a cosmonaut on the red planet by as early as mid-2010! On the line with us now, Richard C. Swineheart head of the International Astronomer's Coalition; Richard, they are actually shooting for this?

Richard: *Chuckles* we'll it's a race Mitch and what better way for an upstart country to make their place in the world today than to take a bold step forward like this.

Mitch: Yes, but the Karshkovian's haven't even launched their first satellite into orbit yet, and they are shooting for Mars? Isn't this a bit like a child telling the grown-ups in a room that he is going to travel to a far off land before they will?

Richard: Well if you remember, it wasn't long after the first satellites that Apollo astronauts were standing on the moon. Now with the proliferation of space technology in the world today, and the fact that Karshkovia has some top space researchers and scientists now under their employment, I would lay even odds that they could possible pull this off.

Mitch: Well given that, do you think that perhaps other nations of the world would give this even a passing interest?

Richard: Well, the fact of the matter is no. I don't think many modern nations would care simply for the fact that in the world today, space research and exploration isn't something many nations care to do, outside of space-based orbital military projects. Only a few, you can count them on one hand, have ever sent a man to the moon and no nation has yet sent a man to Mars. The other matter is that while there are nations that are interested in space and even have their own space stations orbiting earth, announcements like this from a nation that has never launched their own satellite into orbit, let alone a man to the Moon....well, those nations are mainly shaking their collective heads right now.

Mitch: So are they right? Is this just smoke and mirrors from this nation?

Richard: I don't think so, and there are a few nations that I believe agree with me on this. The reason I say that is because after the revolution, Karshkovia was unstable up until Radchenko came into power. It has always been one of his bed-rock belief, which he has stated publicly again and again, that Karshkovia's place is to become a nation of earth and space. Soon after Karshkovia was able to stand on her own two feet economically and militarily, one of her first steps was to rebuild the old soviet-era cosmodrome which was slowly falling apart from neglect, into a bleeding-edge launch facility capable with multiple launch pads and supplemented with three Yuan Wang-class space-tracking ships. This was all done under the table and extremely hush-hush.

Mitch: Well one could say that they were building it to test new missiles or ICBMs, or even launch satellites, but I still am not convinced that they would be able to reach Mars yet. They haven't begun to walk, per say, in space and yet they are saying that they are going to do a 15k marathon run within a few years?

Richard: Karshkovia isn't as weak in this area as they put on in public. I have photographs of documents which prove Karshkovia has secretly bought a dozen or so Saturn rockets recently from a nation that has been to the moon but now, because of public backlash, has reduced their spending on space research to nearly nothing. Those rockets are quietly being shipped to Karshkovia right now. In fact, my friends that work at the Cosmodrome have sent me pictures of a fully assembled Saturn in the 'barn' or Rocket Staging Building #2. By the way, armed guards are stationed all around these buildings and the cosmodrome itself so they are taking security very seriously so I will not say the name of my contact. However I also want to point out that Karshkovia has taken apart an Apollo moon lander and is redesigning it to land on Mars. It is bigger and has more supplies for a longer mission. I do not have pictures of this however my contact, whom I believe implicitly, has stated that they have seen the lander and it is very top-of-the-line.

Karshkovia also, as I stated before, enticed many top minds in space-related fields to not only work on this project but also teach undergraduate and graduate students...

Mitch: ..but Richard, Richard. Are you saying that they already have a lander?

Richard: Well possibly but they are working on it and from my sources they are less than a year away from fully completing and testing it.

Mitch: Where do you see this all going? Is this an effort other nations should take seriously or are they justified in ignoring the push into space that Karshkovia is making?

Richard: I see Karshkovia turning into a power-house...one of the leaders in space research and exploration. You need to remember that Karshkovia made the announcement that they were going to explore our solar system and wanted to have partners to share the expense, research and discoveries with. No nation stepped forward at that time. Now, Karshkovia it seems has decided to go at this on their own, and they are pouring more money into their space program than they spend on their military.

Mitch: I had heard some rumors that they were doing this, but hadn't given it much thought. How dedicated are the Karshkovian people in this? Is it just the administration saying they are going to Mars and making a few token moves or are the people behind this?

Richard: They are deadly serious about this, and it shows in the k-12 education system. Space, Science and Computer related studies are requirements now for all students. Children in kindergarten are being exposed to pictures of the planets and other astronomical sights, while children in first grade are being exposed to computers and basic astronomy information. High school students are required to take multiple computer, astronomy and science classes...and now colleges in Karshkovia are starting, and this began last year, starting to turn out a high percent of young adults whose focus is on science, space and computer fields. They are grooming their children right now, to help lead the country into space. You don't get that from people who are mealy saying things to get attention.

This is also where I get the distinct feeling that Radchenko is orchestrating something remarkable in a new race with the rest of the world for not something trivial, not something stupid like prestige but for the real payoff, the real goal, the real prize at the end of the race and that is to advance humanity and set Karshkovia as one of the main leaders of that push. A race for the future...for human kind...for history...You know, where we are going opposed to where we have always been. So I'm not surprised that Karshkovia sees that if they win that race, they can been the one's seen as those that pushed us out of our crib, out of our birth planet, and into the rest of the universe.

Co-incidentally, it seems, with all the major space players who have been to the moon and have the ability to start a mission to mars program being distracted or involved with wars and no other nation in a position to catch up in terms of research or preparedness, I think it was a genius move by Radchenko to basically work in private and then when everyone would could give them a true run for their money was distracted, he shot the starting pistol and said, "We're off to the races. Either join up or get left behind".

Mitch: Well, Richard I would think that other nations could pour their funding into space research and beat the Karshkovians to the Red Planet if they wished.

Richard: That is a popular belief, and perhaps one that works towards the favor of Karshkovia. Think of it in terms of the tortoise and the hare. Karshkovia is the tortoise in the way that I mean their economy verse other space-going nations, is small, so their advancement is limited. The other nations are like the hare. They have the ability to dump large amounts of money into their programs and brute force their way onto Mars. The problem is that because they are so large, the other nations don't see Karshkovia as a true power. Also with large countries, the red tape is normally miles long meaning it takes them forever to accomplish things. The thing the other nations do not realize is that the tortoise is near the finish line when he turned around and said the race is on. Now, the hares would have to stop bickering with each other and race to catch up. Mitch, the thing is I've done the research and even if all the wars stopped today and even the major players pushed all their military funding into their space programs...and some of those nations have funding in the hundreds or thousands of times that of the entire Karshkovian economy....even if they jumped head first into a crash program, the Karshkovians have a vast lead here. The fact is, my internal source says that the Karshkovians could launch their Mars mission before the Spring of next year, which I may point out is the soonest window open for a Mars mission. Once Karshkovia has their rocket on the launch pad in the next four to six months, the race is pretty much over, barring any incidents along the way.

Mitch: But the rocket may be ready and the Lander is nearly completed but what about the cosmonauts themselves? Doesn't it take years and years of training before they are ready to attempt this?

Richard: That is where Karshkovia cut corners. They hired astronauts from other countries...basically paid them off... to be on the mission. Well, considering the state of some of the space programs in the world today, that wasn't a hard sell. When your home country may send you into space to repair a satellite every once and a while, turning you into a glorified repair man, an offer from another country to fly on the first mission to Mars isn't a hard decision to make. Karshkovia has many astronauts now and they all have experience in space. They are, of course, training their own people however they already know what the Lander is going to do and what systems will be on it, so they have a training pod for the astronauts. The only issue is that the true Lander is slowly being put together, with inspectors checking each nut and bolt and wire for any potential problems. If Karshkovia wanted to launch in a week, they honestly could, I am told, but the problem is that they wouldn't feel comfortable slapping their Lander together that quickly but if pushed, they could.

Mitch: Richard, I must say this has been a pleasure talking with you and I look forward to any updates you may have about this in the future.

Richard: It was my pleasure Mitch. I look forward to being on the show again!

Mitch: That was Richard C. Swineheart, head of the International Astronomy Coalition, author. Richard thank you so much.

The internet is buzzing about the latest audio file said to be recorded audio of two Revolutionary Air Force pilots who had spotted an Unidentified Flying Object just off the Iberian Coast. Third Spanish States government officials have no comment on the audio tape and the pilots who identify themselves with their call signs in the audio clip have been confined to their bases since the incident which happened about a month ago. We will keep you updated on any developments.

You know speaking on UFOs, I thought they had released all the classified files detailing UFO activity in Stoklomolvi, but low and behold the Stoklomolvi government is soon to release previously classified details regarding hundreds of reported sightings of UFOs. The "Sunday Telegraph" said on Sunday...surprisingly *Chuckles* this upcoming fall, the defense ministry is going to release to the general public about one hundred and sixty five files of alleged UFO sightings. Nothing shocking, I guess they say but very very very interesting. Good reason to have Nick Popel on again, I'm sure.

Now this is a story that really bothers me. A jump in ATM fraud has apparently lead the National Bank of Belschaft to slash the maximum amount of cash available to its customers from their accounts. The new cap on cash kicked out by the company's ATMs began last week after what NBB calls "Isolated fraudulent activities" found around the country. The bank with 510 branch offices and over 21,000 ATMs will not say how many customers are affected by this or how much money was involved. But what bothers me is the control, the control over you being able to get your money from a bank. Now if the ATM systems aren't working, then they may have to come up with something better but that's a pretty dangerous precedent.

Now a warning. If you have any young children in the room you may want to turn the radio off for about a minute because this next story is deeply disturbing... Alright, I must say that this story sickens me to think this happened in real life and not some horror movie. In Greal, a man killed his girlfriend and then filleted and cooked parts of her before calling police to simple tell them what he was doing. 25 year old, Lee Christopher McLane, called the emergency services and simply told the emergency dispatcher that he had killed his 21 year old girlfriend, and was boiling her body parts at his mother's home. No reason has been given by authorities on why he killed her, cook her, or call police and admit the crime while he was still carving her up. News outlets in Greal report the general populace is shocked and horrified by this crime. Lee is being held without bail while he waits trial.

Tens of Millions of airline passengers will soon be flying on jets outfitted with anti-missile systems such as flares and chaff and new laser jammers as part of a new Zinaire government test aimed at thwarting terrorists armed with shoulder fired surface-to-air missiles or hostile nations that use advanced air-to-air or surface-to-air missiles. Hundreds of passenger airliners that fly multiple daily national and international routes will receive the anti-missile system prior to the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday according to the Ministry of Defense. The jets will fly with the defensive package mounted on the belly of the aircraft between the wheels. The package works with sensors mounted all over the aircraft that can detect the signature from active, passive, and heat seeking missiles. Depending on the type, the package may deploy flares, chaff, or the new laser which shoots it's beam at the missile to destroy the heat-seeking sensor which will, per the Zinaire's defense ministry, send the missiles veering harmlessly off course. I would think missiles would have backup sensors in case of failure, and I don't think that a missile can veer harmlessly off course because once it misses; no-one knows where it will go or land.

In Bardar, it seems that Catholic Christians are fed up with the Vatican and have elected their own pope. A statement made by the government was, and I quote “The Church of Bardar see this as a step in the right direction and suggest that the 11 National Clans will readmit catholic families to the clans, as members with limited cititzenship. It is also the first time the Church of Bardar will collaborate with a false religion.” End quote. No response has been made by Rome at this time on this astonishing act.

Hiring tapered off and then plummeted last month in Karshkovia, driving the nation's unemployment rate up to a five-year high of 6% simply fanning fears now over recession. Employers last month added the fewest jobs to their payrolls in over ten years. Economists predict that the upcoming holiday sales will be sharply down from last year. Retailers are preparing themselves for dismal sales as the consumers tighten their grip on their wallets.

An Allanea soldier who suffered years of stabbing pain in his stomach, he had incredible pains, has had a four inch needle removed from his stomach the needle remained in his stomach for sixteen years after it was forgotten when army doctors saved his life in a battlefield operation. He had been seriously injured years during an border dispute and incredibly the mistake was never discovered until recently despite frequent trips to doctors to complain about the problem. In the end, after fifteen years of visits, a new doctor ordered an x-ray of his midsection, which revealed the needle in his stomach. He is now thirty-six years old and a high-ranking non-commissioned officer. When asked if he was going to pursue legal recourse against the doctors or the Army he had this to say, "Normally, I would blame the doctors for the mistake that they had made, but then at the time they saved my life when they operated on me, so I will not be taking the matter further." The military covered the cost of surgery and reimbursed him for the many years of doctor visits he had paid for out of pocket. How about that? A guy decides that he is not going to sue and a military that takes care of its own. That doesn't happen very often in this world.

John Pelt, one of the world's richest men and software tycoon...bigger than Bill Gates, made a prediction today from his offices in Lynion that the way people interface with computers would radically change over the next five years. The keyboard and mouse would gradually give way to more intuitive technologies; in particular he said touch, vision and speech interfaces would gradually replace the current mouse/keyboard combo. Just imagine someday sitting back and just thinking commands to your computer, and it may work out that this technology would be released in the next five years.

A Third Spanish States woman who was an outspoken Nihilist died after consenting to her cannibal husband to eat her. The couple videotaped the act and the husband posted it on the internet. Where it has became an underground hit. International protesting of this act and the fact that no charges have been pressed has the Spanish States wondering how they are going to deal with the fallout. The TSS’s have very open freedoms and has stated this was a legal act between consenting adults. Many human rights groups are saying this is taking it too far.

Northern Rangeria’s chief justice is wondering who sent him a severed finger in the mail. The package containing the finger and a letter addressed to the chief justice was opened at the ministry's mail center. They think it may have come from a 57 year old man and former hair salon owner who cut off part of his own finger and sent it to her.

A study of unmarried couples shows that 1-in-10 are ready to break up with 1-in-16 couples are completely happy.

A 10 year old Central Prestonia boy superglued his hand to his bed frame to avoid returning to school after a national holiday. He said he thought that if he was glued to the bed his parents couldn't make him go to school, he didn't want to go back because the holidays were so much fun. I'm not sure he is ever going to live that down.

A missing hiker in Ustio North was found only after a drifter accused of murdering her lead police to her body. Apparently she had died from a blunt-force trauma to the head and then was decapitated after her death. Crime scene investigators cleared the man of any involvement in her death as evidence proved she had slipped from a trail high above and bounced hundreds of feet down the mountain side. A sharp out-cropping of rocks is what served to decapitate her. The man is still being charged with not reporting the accident to authorities just after he discovered the body and prosecutors are pushing for the maximum punishment in this case.

Producing bio-fuels from a fast growing grass delivers vast savings on carbon dioxide emissions compared with petroleum according to a large study by a team of Bolvania researchers. They found that switch grass derived ethanol produced 540% more energy than was required to manufacture the bio-fuel. 1 acre of land planted with this grass could, on the average, deliver 320 barrels of bio-ethanol. They published this in the proceedings of the International Academy of Sciences.

An Aaronian man was rushed to the hospital after finding a dead mouse in his bottle of beer! He had food poisoning. He said he opened the bottle, took a few gulps and the taste was very strange and when he looked closer, he saw the mouse floating in his beer. The beer producer, located in Roef, is making no comment at this time but is expected to pay out a large settlement to the man to keep this out of court.

Doctors in Dyrzny say that if you follow 4 principles for a healthy life style will live, on average, 14 years longer than their counter-parts. Doctors found that not smoking, exercising, drinking in moderation and eating five servings of fruits and vegetables a day can have a huge impact on your life expectancy. They said smoking had the single biggest impact on people's health, with smokers 77% more likely to die before others.

She passed away in her Lyras country home surrounded by friends and family. You will be missed.

In Romenoch a man has been charged with the stabbing and strangulation murder of his two step-daughters in what authorities are calling a "Spell gone bad" in a rural Romenoch home. Lawrence G.W. Persa Jr. has been charged with two counts of first degree murder and is being held without bail. Police investigators say he was performing some strange rituals and told the officers that he cast a spell that had gone bad.

Isaac Beuve is one of the world's leading experts in ancient and modern druidism, witchcraft, magic, the occult, and the rapidly growing earth religions movement. A practicing neo-pagan priest, scholar, teacher and poly-theologian for more than 35 years he has coined much of the vocabulary and articulated so many of the issues that have shaped the rapidly growing neo-pagan movement in the world today. Isaac, welcome to the show!

Isaac: Well thank you! I'm delighted to be here.

Mitch: My pleasure. This was a bizarre story of the deaths of these two young girls by the hands of someone who was practicing some kind of ritual, claim a spell went bad?

Isaac: Well you know, the the story is a great deal vaguer than I am hearing people repeat it. Um, I've looked at the police report in the local and national newspapers and um, the police said that the father had been performing some sort of strange ritual and claimed that...well the step-father rather..and the police said that the step-father said that he was casting a spell that gone bad. And that the spell could have had severe consequences. Now, it doesn't sound like any spell that I am familiar with. It sounds a great deal more like the stories you hear, the really awful stories you hear happen once or twice a year about Christian children dying when their fundamentalist Christians parents are doing an exorcism on them. You know, trying to beat the devil out of them? That sort of a thing? The word 'witchcraft' isn't in the original newspaper stories where the story broke.

Mitch: No, it is not, you are right.

Isaac: It was put into the stories by people making comments on the local paper's blog. And of course this upset a lot of modern witches who call themselves wiccans because of course this sort of thing has absolutely nothing to do with modern day, you know, Wicca belief or practice.

Mitch: And, and I have pointed out on this program, Isaac, that wiccans believe in God. They believe in a male/female version of God, don't they?

Isaac: Well, they believe in both a God and a Goddess.

Mitch: Yeah

Isaac: Now some of, some denominations of wiccans believe that these are two sides of the same deity. Ok? Some believe they are two independent deities. Some wiccans only believe in a Goddess, and don't believe in a God. But what makes it even more complicated is that regardless of which of the two divine genders they focus on, every goddess is seen as a face or aspect of a supreme Goddess and every god is ah, seen as a face or aspect of a supreme God. The ones they refer to when they say "THE Goddess" or "THE God". So the idea is that you can worship the God or the Goddess under any name of any god or goddess who has ever been worshipped in the world because they're all..It’s like yin and yang. They are all faces and aspects of of the universal gender polarity.

Mitch: You've written a book on real magic, Isaac, and you know you're a pretty darn good expert on this subject as you've been doing it for a very long time. Is there a difference, because so many people are confused with those people who are evil who practice let's say satanic worshipping ah...as opposed to those that believe that they are mealy witches. I mean we got a woman from (country) that comes on the program who claims that she is a fun, white witch; she's great at prophecy and predictions. Is there a difference between these evil worshippers and these others?

Isaac: Is there a difference between doctors who are good to people and doctors who are bad to people?

Mitch: Yes and no.

Isaac: They're all doctors...

Mitch: They're all doctors; there is the similarity right there.

Isaac: Right, um...the problem is the word 'witch' has had a lot of different meanings over the last 1500 years. Ok? The Original use of the word 'witch' back in Anglo-Saxon times when it was 'Whicah' was somebody who was supected of using magic for bad purposes. During the Renaissance period the catholic and protestant churches redefined the word 'witch' to mean somebody who belonged to a secret underground religion of devil worship.

Mitch: Ah ha, so that's how it started.

Isaac: Thaaats how it started. Then when nobody believed in that sort of nonsense anymore, the word witch was associated with crazy old women. And then in the middle of the 20th century, a man named Harry Guardfellow along with some friends synthesized a brand-new religion that he called 'the craft' or 'wica' with a single 'c' and this eventually became the modern religion of neo-pagan witchcraft. And um....in his case he could have called his religion anything. He could have called it 'New Paganism' or or 'Revivalist Greco-Roman Religion' but he figured if called the people in his new religion witches that he would get more publicity in the Oseato tabloid press.

Mitch: And he probably did.

Isaac: OH he did! He did a great deal! I don't know, have you ever seen the Oseato tabloids? They kind of make the, ah..

Mitch: Oh yeah, absolutely!

Isaac: They kind of make the 'International Enquirer' look like the "Sunday Times".

Mitch: Or the "Weekly Reader" that we used to read in school. Remember that thing?

Isaac: Yeah. Exactly, the um..the Oseato tabloid press was um..extremely lurid back 50-60 years ago and calling his new religion 'witchcraft' and the members of his new religion 'witches' sold a lot of papers and got him a lot of publicity and enabled him to spread the idea very very rapidly.

Mitch: Ok, the the so-called "Black Mass" that we always considered to be evil, is that the case? I mean is this being done by people who are out there to, you know; chop off the ear of somebody? I mean, what's going on there?

Isaac: Ok, um... I mention this in my book "Layman's essential guide to witches and witchcraft" that the Black Mass was originally invented by the Roman Catholics. The black mass was originally a mass for the dead because the priest would wear a black ceremonial Chasuble over their standard robes when he said a mass for the dead. That's perfectly normal. They still to it today, but in some point early in church history somebody came up with the bright idea of making a donation to the church to have them say a mass for the dead for someone who hadn't died yet.

Mitch: Um hum.

Isaac: Thus turning what is supposed to be a blessing, into a curse.

Mitch: I see.

Isaac: Now, that went on for centuries, people doing that. During the period in Europe in France just for the revolution, during the early 1700's there were a lot of very bored rich people, like there always are. And some people made money throwing wild parties for bored rich nobility.

Mitch: "Eyes Wide Shut?"

Isaac: Something like that. Essentially equivalent to the S&M dungeons parties that modern day kinky rich people will organize. And somebody got the idea that it would be fun to do a blasphemous version of a regular Mass exactly the same way the church had invented supposed satanic witches during the witch hunts. So first there were the black masses the church did that were legitimate masses for the dead. Then there were ones that were turned into curses by not very nice Catholics. Then there were the imaginary black masses that the inquisitors who were busy killing so-called witches invented out of thin air as being what the evil Satan worshipers must obviously be doing because naturally everything they do would be the church, whatever the church does, upside down and backwards. Actually, there are a lot of modern Satanists who still take the same approach, you know, do what the catholic church used to do, only do it backwards. And then people started doing it, you know, centuries after the witch trials were over, people started doing it for kink. For the sake of a thrill.

Mitch: Ah, right.

Isaac: Then off and on over the years various people including modern Satanists have done variations on what they thought the black mass was. It's never been very popular, it's never been very common but it's been something that people who are hostile to other religions leap on immediately. Now We have no evidence that a black mass of any kind was going on in Oseato and I do not know of any spells that involve killing your own children. In fact the only one I have ever heard of is the story of Abraham and Isaac in the bible and that one gets stopped half-way through.

Mitch: Well to me, this guy, he's just...well insane.

Isaac: Yes, he sounds like a lunatic.

Mitch: Well that's a good information and I appreciate this fascinating history you have provided tonight. Isaac Beuve's our guest and it's the first time he's been on Into the Unknown. I thank you for being here and look forward to having you back on.

Isaac: Thank you Mitch for having me here.

Tocrowkia 's largest volcano is poised for a major eruption sometime in the next few weeks, scientists warn. Authorities last week evacuated twelve nearby towns just as a precaution after magma pressure started quickly building at the volcano's mouth. The +16,000 foot volcano is preparing to generate, in days or weeks, a great eruption.

Hundreds of rogue black holes may be roaming around the Milky Way waiting to engulf stars and planets that simply cross their paths. Karshkovian astronomers believe that these intermediate-mass black holes, as they call them, are invisible to the naked eye except in rare instances and have been spawned by mergers of black holes inside globular clusters - swarms of stars held together by their mutual gravity. These black holes are unlikely, I like how they use that word...unlikely, to pose a threat to our solar system.

Listen to this story, a Novanicstan couple who had been happily married for three years and have two children recently had their marriage annulled by the Novanicstan high court and their children placed in a state-run care facility. Why did this happen? Well as it turns out, the couple was unaware that when they wed they were half-siblings. They both had been fathered by the same man, though the woman had been given up for adoption as a child by her mother and she never knew who her father was or that she had a half-brother. The couple had met during a New Year’s party thrown by mutual friends and they had dated for two years before marrying after the birth of their first child. When the husband's biological mother fell ill to cancer and required a bone-marrow transplant both the man and woman submitted samples of their tissue to check for compatibility. When doctors ran the DNA test that is when they discovered that the couple were related. Since Novanicstan law forbids immediate family member to marry or have children, the couple's marriage was immediately annulled. Since the children are already born, healthy and without any signs of disabilities or genetic defects, State officials have decided to allow them to live, however they have been remanded into the care of the state until they are adults. The couple is currently fighting for the return of the children. No word if how they feel about this disturbing turn of events or they are going to fight or accept the annulment.

Well, this story out of Tucker Island has many people sitting up and taking notice. Tucker Island environmental officials today announced that three dead wild crows were found infected with avian influenza in that country's capital city. Following positive test result for the highly pathogenic H5-N1 strain of the bird flu virus, officials are conducting a test on the wild bird population inside and around the city. No confirmed cases of human infection have been reported. A top government official stated that while this is unwelcome news, they have always stated that Tucker Island is at a constant low level of risk and the population should not panic over this news.

Osea astronomers announced that a giant cloud of gas is speeding towards a collision our milky way galaxy and when it hits within Forty Million Years it may set off a spectacular burst of stellar fireworks. The leading edge of this cloud is already interacting with gas from our galaxy and contains enough hydrogen gas to make a million stars the size of our sun and is speeding towards our galaxy at over 150 miles per second.

In Aequatio a man angered after a dispute with his wife has confessed to throwing his four young children off a bridge. Authorities are looking for the children's bodies now and the man is being charged with four counts of Capital Murder.

An Aglorea man who believed he bore the 'mark of the beast', used a circular saw to cut off his right hand then he cooked it in a microwave after which he called 911. The man was stated as having no drugs or alcohol present in his body when he was tested at the hospital. Surprisingly, authorities have stated they are going to check to see if he had any mental illness. Check to see if he had mental illness? Surely cutting off your hand and cooking it in the microwave is certainly something all sane people do...*sighs*

In Chernobl two men wheeled a dead man through the streets in an office chair to a check cashing store, where they tried to cash the dead man's social security check before being arrested on fraud charges. David O'Hara 18 and James Delea 17 pushed the body from the Chernobl apartment they were sharing to a place called 'RED-D-CASH' about a block away. Witnesses say they saw the men pushing the chair with the dead man flopping from side to side, it's almost like that 'Weekend at Bernie’s' movie. The men left his body outside the store then went inside and tried to cash his $355 check. Both men tested positive for marijuana.

Great time on my small four-day vacation, seeing family and friends and just hang around doing not much of anything. But I got to tell you last weekend I was in a little night club in Questers and they had this salt water tropical fish tank there. I was mesmerized by it, as there was a little fish in there and I need your help. There was a little fish in there called 'Pickles', that's what they called it, and I think he was one of these puffer fishes or blow fishes. I don't know exactly what he was but he puffed up and he had these little spines all over him and then he puffed back down again. But I tell you what, I don't know if you remember seeing that movie/cartoon with the late Don Knots called "The Incredible Mr. Limpet" where he was a fish. "Pickles" had the face of Don Knots, I kid you not! He had bright blue eyes and was the most incredible thing I have ever seen on a fish. He wasn't that big, he was about four inches long and he'd come right up to the side of the aquarium and he'd look at you with this face. Absolutely incredible. So if you know exactly what kind of fish he is, would you let me know because I'm going to go get one and I'm going to keep it in my office out there in Zostar.

OK, circle your calendars for those of you living in Questers because at the end of September, 25-26 I will be at the AM and HAM radio Talk-Fest sponsored by the national KORY AM radio station, so come on by. I've done this over the last couple of years and we've had a great time, broadcasting our show from the convention. It's a great nation and lovely people. You really should stop by and visit if you have the time.

Alright, next hour on Into the Unknown, my special guest Dr. Gary C. Rittenhammer M.D. who has important information you need to know about the growing Bird Flu epidemic. In the final hour we will open the lines up for your phone calls right here at Into the Unknown.

In world news:
The National Tax Service of Greal is trying to collect billions of Universal Standard Dollars in late taxes from...nearly half a million Government employees. Documents show that some Federal Employees and Retirees did not pay. More than $5.9 Billion in taxes was owed last year, with 4.1 Billion of that owed by those employed by the Government.

Last night in The Ryou Black Islands a man broke into the apartment of Milla VonRousch, the world famous TV Starlet from the very popular sitcom "Nothing to Lose". Milla was woken from her sleep when the man broke into her high-rise apartment and set off her security alarm. The man, Peter Geachriech, had a restraining order for stalking placed on him by Milla's co-worker, Vicky Schultz, another Starlet of the same sitcom. While Milla plays Sarah, an innocent, slightly flighty woman reminiscent to Phoebe on the sitcom "Friends", in real life Milla is nothing like her character. Outspoken on gun-rights and personal defense, Millia did not hesitate in shooting Mr. Geachriech three times when he entered her bedroom late last night, uninvited. In a statement to the press, Police called the shooting justified and while they are still investigating, no charges are being pressed against VonRousch. A police sergeant involved in the investigation was quoted saying that VonRousch was fully within her rights to shoot this man as he had entered her apartment with the intent of rape and possibly murder. When asked how police could come to that conclusion so quickly, he stated that Geachriech had entered VonRousch's apartment by dropping down three stories from the roof while naked and carrying a butcher's knife, ten feet of nylon rope, a box of condoms, matches, and a large bottle of lighter fluid inside a duffle bag. VonRousch has refused all interviews but did make a statement that while she had no intention of killing her attacker; she is still a firm believer in personal protection.

In Ralkovia, a very sad story there. Police say that a seven year old boy died after a friend accidentally struck his head with a child-sized golf club. Police indicated the boys were playing on the driving range of a golf-course while their fathers were golfing. Apparently, the boy walked behind his friend during a backswing and was struck in the head. A grounds worker heard the commotion on the driving range, ran over and saw the victim lying on the ground and quickly called the emergency services. The boy was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An earthquake struck off the Zinaire coast today. 6.5 magnitude located approximately 150 miles off the coast at a depth of 6.1 miles. NO, I repeat, NO tsunami warnings issued. Reports from coastal towns report mild tremors but no damage or loss of life reported.

It may be possible to replace twice a day injections to control type II diabetes with a shot given just once a week. Third Spanish States scientists found a new formulation of a drug to give better control of blood sugar levels than the current twice daily regiment. Experts say though research is needed to confirm their work and verify it safe for human use.

A telephone company has cut off an international wiretap used by Belschaft's National Investigative Bureau after the agency simply failed to pay their phone bill on time. The Bureau's Director faulted lower-ranked management for poor handling of money used in undercover operations. This left the agency vulnerable to theft and mis-handled invoices.

In Lynion a man miraculously escaped sustaining any minor injuries when a freight train rolled over the top of him while he slept on the tracks. How in the Heck did he get away with living on that one?!? The 20 year old was sleeping when the train approached. The engineer of the train saw the man applied the emergency brakes but the train carrying 3000 tons of freight couldn't stop in time. It rolled right over the man who was sleeping between the rails and stopped just beyond him. It's believed his injuries were sustained after he hit his head on the train while he was trying to sit up.

A 66 year old woman in Bolvania lived for nearly a year with the corpse of her 85 year old partner. Police found the remains of the man in the couple's small vacation home in an eastern village near the lake. The woman told the local doctor and neighbors who tried to contact the man since March of 2007 that he was gone. Police are looking into if the woman concealed the death in order to continue receiving his pension checks.

Karshkovian officials are targeting an October 30th launch date for their first steps into space with a communication satellite and, get this, a converted ICBM! Yes, the small nation is poised to launch their first, independent satellite into orbit using a converted soviet-era SATAN ICBM for the launch vehicle. Officials stated that the ICBM was perfect to signal Karshkovia's commitment not only to do away with their left-over nuclear arsenal but also to signal the country's move away from the militarized past and into a peaceful future.

A young Tazhistan man who waved out of a car window to two young women walking by lost his arm after it was severed by another passing vehicle. The 20 year old passenger in a pickup truck was waving at two women at a car wash. As the passenger put his arm out the driver made a right-hand turn and a passing city bus severed the arm. Doctors are doubtful they can reattach it.

An Aaronian woman threw herself out of an apartment window, along with a Christmas tree, during a late-night attempt to dispose of the decoration which had been sitting in her apartment since the holidays. As she pushed it too far, she went with it. They fell twenty-two feet and she is in critical condition at a local hospital. Police announced the tree was dead before it hit the pavement.

Starting next Monday, every dog and cat adopted in Rithian will come with a microchip embedded in it's skin. Dogs and cats of any size, including puppies and kittens, will be given the chip which is about the size of a long grain of rice and is embedded via a syringe. Every week, they say, about 300 stray pets are found in Rithia, but only 75-100 are ever reunited with their owners. Now, they say, every dog or cat that is adopted from a shelter will be chipped before it heads to it's new home. If the pet is ever found as a stray and taken back to a shelter, the chip will allow the shelter to quickly reunite the pet with it's rightful owners. Depending on the outcome, lawmakers say they may extend this to requiring all licensed pets to be chipped.

INCREDIBLE medical breakthrough from a country leading the world in medical breakthroughs: Blackhelm Confederacy researchers who were seeking new treatments for heart disease managed to grow a rat heart in the lab, and they started it beating. Now while it sounds like science fiction, they have opened the door to a future where doctors can grow new tissue for patients with end-stage diseases according to Dr. Anna Taylor, Director of the Center for Cardiovascular Research in Blackhelm. Dr. Taylor stated that while this is a breakthrough, doctors are not to the point where they can grow human tissue yet, but the day is swiftly approaching. Scientists have worked for years for ways to grow body parts. Many efforts have focused on heart valves as an alternative to the plastic or animal valves that wear out after being implanted in humans. An estimated ten billion people in the world live with heart failure, and close to five hundred thousand new cases are diagnosed each year. Over one billion people die in the world each year waiting for a heart donor.

An Stoklomolvi infant died from a severe head injury after his baby sitter swung him around in a sleeping bag, until the bag accidentally hit a wall. The 25 year old baby sitter is charged with 'Risk of Injury to a Minor', 'Reckless Endangerment' and 'Involuntary Manslaughter'. The babysitter, a long time friend of the infant's family, is on suicide watch while in custody.

The trial of a Karshkovian man charged with Involuntary Murder in the Third Degree, which would earn him life in prison, took an unexpected twist today which left the Judge speechless and those in the courtroom stunned. One month ago, a Karshkovia father and daughter were killed after a drunk driver hit their pickup truck doing over seventy miles per hour. It happened in the early hours of the morning near the city of Miniski when a 23 year old man, Wade Phar, got behind the wheel of his pickup truck and headed home after attending a friend's wedding party. On his way home, Phar began to have seizer which forced his body to go ridged. His foot smashed on the accelerator, sending the pickup truck speeding south-bound on Highway 23 just outside of the Karshkovian city of Miniski and towards the split-lane highway intersection with East/West bound Highway 10. Donald Parrow, 45, and his 21 year old daughter, Rebecca Parrow, were returning home from their church band practice when the accident occurred. Phar's truck left the roadway of highway 23 at over eighty miles an hour and entered the large grassy separation between the east bound and west bound lanes of Highway 10 where it then launched into the air after striking the shoulder of Highway 10's west bound lane. While airborne, the truck struck at nearly seventy miles an hour and sheared off the cab of the Parrow's vehicle. After the accident, Phar's truck came to a stop after hitting a highway light pole. Police said he sustained only minor injuries from the incident and his Blood-Alcohol content was slightly above legal limits and partially considered a reason for the accident. City Officials are quoted on saying it is the worst two-car accident in the history of the city. Near the end of yesterday's trial, wife and mother of those killed in the accident, Liz Parrow, took the stand and testified for the man who killed her husband and daughter. That is correct, for the man who killed her family. During Mrs. Parrow's impassionate testimony, she stated that one family had already been destroyed because of this accident and now another family, Mr. Phar's wife of less than a year and newborn daughter, could be destroyed as well if Mr. Phar is sent to prison. Mrs. Parrow stated that she has forgiven Mr. Phar and does not hold any anger or wish any vengeance against him. Her Christian faith and beliefs teach her to forgive those that wrong her and asked that the Judge show mercy in sentencing. During this testimony, Mr. Phar was reportedly openly weeping to which Mrs. Parrow left the witness stand, walked over the defendant, and embraced him in a hug where both she and Mr. Phar wept. The Prosecution and Defense both rested their cases and the Judge called a recess to allow the court time to consider the testimony and asked both lawyers to join him in his chambers. After one hour the jury returned with a guilty verdict on the Involuntary Murder in the Third Degree charge. The judge accepted the guilty verdict; however he stated that because of the testimony of Mrs. Parrow, and after speaking with both the Defense and Prosecution, he was commuting Mr. Phar's sentence to involuntary manslaughter. Instead of serving life in a medium-security prison as a felon, Mr. Phar would spending six months in the county jail where he would be allowed to leave the prison during the day to attend his current job and be required to return to the jail at night. He is also ordered, for the next five years, to speak at local schools to students on the dangers of drunk driving. Just an amazing story.

Well now, Pan-Arab Barronia scientists have discovered that going veggie is bad for your brain, no pun intended. Those on a meat-free diet are six times more likely to suffer brain shrinkage, according to the study. Vegetarians are more likely to be deficient because the best source for the vitamins are meat - particularly liver -, milk, and fish. Vitamin B-12 deficiency can cause anemia and inflammation of the nervous system. Yeast extracts are one of the few vegetarian foods which provide good levels of the vitamin. The link was discovered by a team of scientists lead by Dr. Michio Osaka at City University in Pan-Arab Barronia's capital city. Dr. Osaka's team used memory tests, physical checks and brain scans to examine 5400 people between the ages of 21 and 87. When the volunteers were tested five years later, scientists found that those with the lowest levels of Vitamin B-12 were all vegetarians and also the most likely to have brain atrophy. This confirms an earlier study that suggested a link between brain atrophy and B-12.

Accusations that a soccer player was using witchcraft at a match in eastern Yanitaria sparked a riot that killed 13 people. Most of the victims were between the ages of 11 and 16 and were suffocated or trampled to death as panicked crowds ran for the exits during the mayhem.

In Imbrinium a group of admitted Satan worshippers killed and ate four teenagers in a sickening ritual. The Satanists stabbed each of their victims a terrifying six hundred and sixty six times before dismembering the bodies and cooking them over a bonfire. Law Enforcement officials are not releasing the names of the victims or those guilty of this crime at this time.

"People must accept death at the hour chosen by God", announced Pope Benedict the Sixteenth during his anti-euthanasia speech to ailing pilgrims to Lords, a shrine in Stoklomolvi that draws the desperate sick and dying. While several countries, like Karshkovia, allow euthanasia, the Vatican vehemently maintains that life must continue onto its natural end. The Pope said in his speech that the ill should pray to find the grace to accept, without fear or bitterness, to leave this world at the hour chosen by God.

Scientists from around the world have found a planet, eight times the mass of Jupiter, orbiting around its star-like sun. The orbit is nearly 330 times the size of earth's orbit around our sun. It is the first extra-solar planet to be captured on film.

Almost 50% of the world's population believe in UFO's, according to recent peer-reviewed studies conducted by the University of Science and Technology in Maldoria, and nearly all believe that the Governments of the world are holding back this knowledge from the general public. You know that on this show we take the subject of UFO's quite seriously and this study shows that nearly one out of every two people would agree with that stance.

Well now, nearly 200 million McGregor "Soccer Star" soccer goals are being recalled in the Commonwealth of Free United States's biggest consumer recall in history after the death of a young child. If you have one of these, listen to this story. The Commonwealth of Free United States Consumer Product Safety Commission said a 20 month old boy strangled after his head and arm became entangled in the net of one of the recalled goals. The agency received one other report of a child's head becoming entangled in the netting of a McGregor goal. The gaps in the recalled nets measure 20 square inches, which is stated to be a dangerous size for children. According to McGregor Inc, the gaps should be less than 17 square inches to prevent strangulation. The Commonwealth made goals were sold at sports and hardware stores the world over, including Wal-Mart and Ace Hardware. They were available between May of 2002 and May of 2008. Parents and care-givers are advised to stop allowing children to use these nets immediately.

Ian Sonnet:

From the High Karshka Mountains off the Great Northland Sea, I bid you all Good Evening, Good Morning, Good Afternoon wherever you may be across these many, many time zones... and let me assure you, we cover them all. Stretching from the The Ryou Black Islands in the west, east to the coasts of Aissur, South into Thrashia, all the way to the North Pole and world-wide on the Internet, you have just connected to the world's #1 most listened to late-night talk show...This is "Into the Unknown". I'm Ian Sonnet, standing in for Michael Ross while he is out sick.

Well I am just typing up the last few words of my Blog even as we speak....and....Enter. Ok, we'll save that. It's another Friday night and yet, I think along with Billions of listeners around the world, it's just not as much fun out tonight knowing how much misery people are going to be facing in The Ryou Black Islands and even Yanitaria shortly. I haven't seen all the images yet from Greal where Tropical Storm Wendy had struck on Wednesday but those I have seen have been heart breaking. Now that Wendy is a Category Three hurricane, my thoughts and prayers are with those who live in The Ryou Black Islands and Yanitaria as that hurricane bares down to strike them sometime around 3pm local time tomorrow. Quite a few tornadoes and thunderstorms are still being spun out from this massive wall of wind and rain. I can't help in feeling this way as we are live and on the air in the middle of "Into to the Unknown" while these storms are affecting people's lives, perhaps even yours, but what I can do is at least give you a show to help distract you from your troubles a little bit tonight. You know, as I am hosting the show tonight, I have free reign over the phone lines so I have an idea....I'm going to ask Bill, my producer who is standing in the sound room, to take the wildcard line and open it up for just those who are affected by this Hurricane. Ok? We are going to screen the line tonight and I ask the listeners of the show to please work with us tonight in this. The wildcard line is going to be used tonight exclusively for those who are in The Ryou Black Islands or Yanitaria, in the path of this Hurricane and who have not evacuated. If that describes your situation, you may call in on the Wildcard line and we will get you on the air. If you use the wildcard line tonight and are not in the path of this Hurricane, we will ask you to call back on one of the other lines.

Tonight's show should be very interesting, not that it normally isn't interesting mind you, but what do you believe will happen on 21/12, if I could quote Rush errr...the band, not the radio personality...on December 12th, 2012. The reason I ask is because this new book out about 2013 really makes you think about where we are going to be shortly after what might or might not be the major cataclysmic event of our lifetimes. Mary Spats has written an amazing book covering all the possible theories as well as going into details on what 2013 might look like to us. Now that's coming up next hour, however this hour we will get to open lines right after we do Crypto-News...and that's next on "Into the Unknown", this is Ian Sonnet.

<Commercial Break>

Again, open lines are ringing as we speak and we will get to them near the bottom of the hour. For those who are new or casual listeners, we will get the numbers on the air here shortly.

Remember last spring, the brightest explosion ever seen was observed in March? A team of astronomers from around the world have combined their data from satellites and other observatories to explain what happened. It is now know that a jet from a powerful stellar explosion in a galaxy half way across the Universe was aimed almost directly at Earth! The event, called a Gamma Ray Burst or GRB, was bright enough for human eyes to see even during the day! The event only lasted three days total and came from a galaxy that can not be seen without the aid of space-based telescopes. The explosion was so powerful, scientists now say that it stripped away all but the lowest layers of our magnetosphere, the field which deflects the solar winds away from earth and protects us from the hard radiation of the sun. If the explosion had happened at even 3/4 the distance, earth's entire magnetosphere would have been ripped away. Lucky are we all.

East Laos's "Popular PC" magazine has an interesting question they are posing in their new edition, "If college students can beat the best anti-virus programs why do people the world over spend nearly $100 Billion dollars a year on them?" A very good question and one of the reasons I went Linux.

In Northern Rangeria the "New Scientist" magazine has an interesting article with a leading paragraph that I want to read to you. "Darwin has never warned of crossing the paths of black cats, walking under ladders, or stepping on cracks in the pavement however his theory of Natural Selection explains why people believe in such nonsense. The tendency to link cause to affect, a superstition, is occasionally beneficial" says Kevin Foster, and evolutionary biologist at the world renown Walton University. He continues, "For instance, a prehistoric human might associate rustling grass with the approach of a predator and hide. Now most of the time the rustling grass was done by the wind but if a group of lions is coming there is a huge benefit to not being around." So if New Scientist Magazine is correct, then every jaded "I don't believe in any of that crap" scientist out there owes his or her very existence to a superstitious ancestor.

Here is something for your Techno-Geeks out there; the Scan Toaster connects to your PC via a USB cable and can download anything from today's headlines, stock quotes, local weather forecasts or even pictures and burn them right onto your toast. That's right, The Scan Toaster. Inside the toaster is a network of toasting modules, each heated by a hot wire, each is individually controlled and can move by up to 30 degrees off its center. Once the use selects what they want on their toast, then the toaster burns the content right onto the bread so you can eat your headlines. (*Chuckles*) You know, thinking on this, it would be a great treat for parents with younger children. Now if I can just get my e-mail on my eggs and turn my e-mail Spam into real spam, we have a complete breakfast. The toaster sells for $150 Universal Standard Dollars and can be ordered online or directly from the Antigr company, Electrolux.

An article out of "The US Sun", a retired Free United States Air force Officer revealed how he tracked a whole fleet of UFO's on military radar over 25 years ago, but the Ministry of Defense told him to keep quiet. Wing Commander Allen Turner, now 64 years old, said colleges sat stunned when 35 hypersonic vessels appeared on their screens. Wing Commander Turner who was then the chief operator for the Free United States radar system for 29 years said the craft were equally spaced when they first were tracked on radar. They slowed from 5,000 miles an hour to less than 100 miles and hour nearly instantaneously. They hovered over an open field then shot from 3000 feet to 60,000 feet at about 1000 miles an hour, well exceeding any performance capabilities of all known aircraft at that time. Wing Commander Turner said that six military radar stations, plus civilian radar operators at a nearby civilian airport tracked the vessels for nearly an hour as they bounced around in the sky in intricate maneuvers. All radar operators involved filed reports of this amazing display and Wing Commander Turner drew a map charting their maneuvering between key sites. Three days later, the Ministry of Defense visited the Air Force radar stations and instructed staff to quote, "Never speak of this incident again". Wing Commander Turner, who retired from the Air Force in 1995, said "UFO's are a fact. I tracked them on military radar units. What I saw defied all logic and was quite frankly, extraordinary." Turner now states that he made copies of the reports his men filed and he collected copies of all the radar station tapes prior to the Ministry of Defense's appearance three days after the original copies of the reports had been filed. While the reports are very detailed, the tapes can not be verified as they can only be read by now-obsolete military equipment which oddly is still considered classified. No comment has been made by the Ministry of Defense.

Very odd footage and news reports out of Ursava tonight. Fighting of some kind has broken out around military complexes in that nation's northern territory. Videos sent to "Into The Unknown" anonymously, show fighting in and around military-like bunkers and strangely tall humans fighting amongst themselves with automatic weapons. Official inquiries have gone unanswered and the Ursava Government has issued no statement at this time. Unconfirmed reports that all air travel in that country has been either grounded or routed out of the country has phone lines in that country ablaze. Other reports have indicated that an area in the northern territories of Ursava has been quarantined and no one is allowed in or out of the area. We will bring you more information as it becomes available to us. If you live in Ursava or specifically in or around the area of this fighting, we will be screening for your calls on the international line. If you call in, we will get you on the air immediately. Again, if you live in or around this area in Ursava or live in Ursava and have information about what is going on, please call.

A strange event in Kewen in deciding the next leader of that country. An Airsoft/Paintball competition was held this last weekend with the winner becoming the next leader of Kewen. As it turns out the National Socialist Party had won the event, but soon after the new Kewen leader, Albert Burkhalter (http://www.hogansheroesfanclub.com/images/photoBurkhalter.gif), died in an apparent automobile accident after a Tractor-Trailer crossed over into oncoming traffic and hit his vehicle head on at over seventy miles an hour. No word from Kewen yet on how they are going to handle this crisis. How very strange.

Here is something different from Oseato. Just like how fans of Betatape still argue how Beta should never have lost to VHS, fans of HD-DVD are saying that format should never have lost to BluRay. Well according to new studies those in that last argument may have something else to argue over as BluRay itself might be doomed. According to TechRadar, a well respected technology trends company in Oseato, BluRay will be dead by 2012 or 2013. If you are planning to buy a BluRay player, TechRadar has said to hold onto your money as BluRay is currently battling public indifference, technical problems, 'laughable' features, and downloadable movies. After an in-depth year-long study, TechRadar has listed five reasons they believe BluRay is headed for the grave. We have that list up on IntoTheUnknown.com if you are interested. Perhaps when the Mayans ended their calendar on 2012, they were just thinking about BluRay.

A Karshkovian man, serving time for involuntary homicide was awarded $500,000 Universal Standard Dollars yesterday by a Federal Jury that found the inmate’s rights were violated when he was forced to spend two months sleeping on a moldy, water-logged mattress. Quincy Jones, a 29 year old illegal immigrant from Miamoria, scored the windfall after a Karshkovian district court jury decided that he was improperly treated while locked up. Quincy is serving 24 years without possibility of parole for his role in a Volograd street-shootout with a rival gang that left an 11 year old girl dead. The girl was hit by a stray bullet while playing inside her grandmother's home just a block away from the shootout. After the jury reached it's verdict, the Judge then awarded the sum to the 11 year old girl's family as compensation for their pain and suffering. Quincy's family in Miamoria is outraged at the Judge's decision and has filed a lawsuit to gain control of the money. Just before we went on the air, an aide to the office of the Prime Minister of Karshkovia stated that while she understands the pain Mr. Jones' family has gone through, Mr. Jones was fined $300,000 in a civil-suit by the family of the murdered girl. None of that money had been paid by Mr. Jones, so it was within the right of the Judge to award part or all of the money to clear Mr. Jones’s debt. No word yet if that is the stance the Judiciary will take on the matter, though given my personal experience living in Karshkovia, when the President or Prime Minister speaks, it is pretty much like the Word of God being handed down.

A Rithian farmer is baffled after he bought a duck that has feet like a chicken and is scared of water. Curious people from all over the country have flocked to the man's farm in hopes to see the duck. You can flock to the IntoTheUnknown.com website to see pictures of the duck. I wonder if it would taste like duck, or chicken.

Well I've said it time and time again but here it is. Genetically-engineered animals move closer to the dinner table in Antigr as the Public Health and Safety Bureau made public the process they will use to clear these animals as safe for human consumption. The PHSB published the guidelines that producers of genetically-engineered animals would have to follow to determine if the animals are any risk to humans, the environment, or the animals themselves. Genetically modified cattle, pigs, fish, goats and birds are being produced for a variety of uses. Some produce pharmaceuticals in their milk or blood, others they say are resistant to diseases like Bird Flu or Mad Cow and produce healthier meat and milk. Not sure if I personally am interested in eating a genetically-engineered hamburger but it’s very "Jetsons" isn't it?

The Alfegos Department of Drug and Public Safety has charged five companies from various nations with making "false and misleading claims" for cancer cures and said that it has reached settlements with six other companies. "There is no credible scientific evidence that any of the products marketed by these companies can prevent, cure, or treat cancer of any type", says the DDPS. The products that the companies have marketed include teas and other herbal mixtures which scientists, the DDPS says, have proven do not help in treating any sort of cancer. David Paulson, CEO of HerbaLife, one of the companies being charged, stated that the Alfegos Government is trying to censor him from providing a cure to those who are ill as it is more lucrative to treat cancer than cure it. Karshkovian officials have publicly supported Alfegos and have stated they too are looking at filing charges against these companies.

A downtown Metroline bus has collided with a freight train in Aurum Domus's largest city. Officials say that 13 people are injured and twenty five have died, including the bus driver. This happened one week after another Metroline Bus had barreled through a stoplight at a busy intersection, causing a fifteen car accident that killed five people and injured 39 more. The bus driver of that accident tested positive for cold medication which caused him to fall asleep at the wheel. No word yet as to the cause of why this new accident has happened. Witnesses said the bus was travelling on the wrong side of the road at nearly 40 MPH when it hit the side of a freight train passing by. No word yet if everyone on the bus was killed or not.

In Karshkovia, court documents show that moments before a toddler fatally shot himself, his mother warned him not to touch his father's service revolver because of the bad 'boo boos' it would cause. In the arrest affidavit, it details how the two-year old grabbed the gun from a nightstand then shot himself in the eye while his mother was in the bathroom getting ready for work. On the morning of August 28th, the mother woke her son up and gotten him ready for daycare first, and then left him in her bedroom while she prepared for work. The child's father, a police detective, was sleeping in the bedroom with his loaded service revolver on the nightstand next to the bed. Minutes later the boy shot himself and he died less than two hours later. The parents were arrested on charges of 'Risk of Injury to a Minor' and 'Criminally Negligent Storage of a Firearm". The child's father has been suspended without pay from his job. The parents are both facing five years of incarceration.

Why does it seem like many people begin with political differences and then try to find reasons to justify their inclinations? Ever thought about that? You know, where someone is just dead set on one set of political beliefs or one particular party or one particular idea and they try to mold everything to fit in that point of view. Why is it so difficult to sway people who care so deeply about politics no matter how compelling the facts or persuasive the prose? WELL, University of Anghele research may help to answer these questions by monitoring people's physical sensitivities to things like sudden noises and threatening visual images. Scientists were able to conclude over a ten year study that physiological reactions can predict variations in political beliefs. For the first time, scientists can show that people who are physiologically highly responsive to threat are likely to advocate policies that protect against threats to the social unit. That means people who are more intimidated by a threat will be more likely to favor defense spending, capital punishment and patriotism. In contrast, people who are less startled and more confident when exposed to threat are more likely to support foreign aid, liberal immigration policies, pacifism and gun control. Scientists have stated that more research is needed in this area to verify their findings, but there are reports that political groups are thinking on using this study to help shape their political ads to garner the support they want.

Talk about the weird and bizarre, this story cuts right to the heart of weird. Remember just over a year and a half ago the huge international story that broke when Neo-Ixania billionaire Veronica DuPoint, heiress to the DuPoint cereal empire, went missing while sailing in her yacht off the coast of The Holy and Glorious Empire of Emperatium Drakonicum? At first it was believed she was attacked by pirates, and then it was believed she may have been killed by some of those named in her will. Finally, it was decided that her boat hit an off-shore storm and sank. Well a month after she disappeared, extended family went to court to have the state declare Veronica legally dead and to force the state to break the seal on her will. It took nearly a year of legal maneuvering by many parties before the courts decided to declare Veronica legally dead. That happened just last month, however due to legal precedents in Neo-Ixania, all parties involved must wait until October 3rd...That is tomorrow, four weeks after the court declared her dead before the will of Veronica DuPoint would be read and her estate divided between the family. Well, hold on to your hats because less than an hour before we went on the air last night, news sources reported that Wednesday, Veronica DuPoint was found alive and in good health on an island over 1500 miles from where her yacht was last reported being seen. YES! Veronica DuPoint is alive and well and from the sounds of it, she is very upset. In a brief statement to the press, Ms. DuPoint has stated her yacht did indeed hit a storm while at sea and was badly damaged. Without radio, GPS or any navigation equipment and on a boat that was slowly sinking and without power, she was at the mercy of the sea, which guided her yacht to this small island chain where she lived for the last year. Here is where the weird comes into play: her family still wants her considered dead and is pressing to have her Will read and her property dispersed tomorrow, however this is contrary to national law which states even if Ms. DuPoint was found after the will was read, she still would retain all her assets after being found. Because of this, Ms. DuPoint has stated none of her extended family who is involved in the scheme to take her estate shall be named in her new will, and she knows who her true friends and family are.

Talking about whom to trust, how about what is happening in Karshkovia? During a time where Mad Cow disease awareness in the public is at an all-time high, it seems our politicians are out of touch with reality. A Federal Appeals court upheld a decision by the Agriculture Bureau to prevent Great Plains Meat, a beef producer, from testing all of its animals for Mad Cow. Yes! The Craziness isn't just in other countries folks. Listen to this. The company, Great Plains Meat, wants to test all of the cattle it owns for the disease, but have been ordered by the courts not to. The reasoning behind this decision? It would make the other beef producers who do not want to, or can not afford to test all of their animals look bad and thus cut into their profits. That's right, we test one tenth of one percent of our beef for Mad Cow because anymore testing could cut into profits made by the companies and may...may cause the public to mistrust the meat because it was tested.

Two apparent suicide bombers who were caught just outside the Ralkovian embassy in South Thasland today have turned out not to be terrorists at all. As it happens, both apparent terrorists were actually a boy and a girl in their mid teens that happened to have Down syndrome. News reports out of South Thasland today state that during supervised questioning by Ralkovian and South Thasland officials, the homeless brother and sister were told by 'friends' to take the backpacks to the Embassy, approach the embassy guards, then press the button on a control box attached to the backpacks. Once they pressed the buttons, they were to take off the backpacks and hand them over to the guards at the gate, whom would accept the backpacks and then give each of them either a puppy or a kitten. As it turns out, the couple approached the Elite Ralkovian Guards at the Embassy and handed the backpacks over without pressing the detonators. Talk about luck for those guards! The guards were suspicious of the situation and called for bomb disposal to check out the backpacks while they evacuated everyone near the area and local police blocked off the roads near the embassy. The brother and sister were taken into custody where they explained what they had been asked to do. We have a news clip up on the IntoTheUnknown.com website of the newest twist to this story where the embassy guards, out of their own pockets, bought a kitten and a puppy for boy and girl who had been tricked into nearly killing themselves, the guards and an unknown number of people on the packed street in front of the embassy. Neither are being charged as criminals and because of their minor status, they have been placed into a good foster home inside of South Thasland where they will be cared for and loved. A current search in South Thasland is taking place right now for the suspected terrorists described by the young man and his sister. No word as to which group was involved in the planning of this attack nor why they wished to attack the embassy.

On that note, in RyanBrum, another pair of Down syndrome women were used to attack a popular shopping mall. According to RyanBrum officials, the bombs strapped to the bodies of these women were remotely detonated after the women entered the mall and had stopped in front of a pet store. Reports from RyanBrum indicate that the target of the terrorists was not the pet store but the public appearance of a very popular public representative who was very outspoken on various subjects. Hundreds had gathered to hear the speech to be made and it is suspected that the cowards who detonated the bombs strapped to these women had counted on them to head right to the public event, instead of stopping outside of a store in that mall. Besides these poor women, fifteen other people were killed including six children, and sixty were wounded. What angers me is that these poor women and the brother and sister of the prior story were talked into this, manipulated into this...and they must have been so confused, I would think, because they didn't really understand why they were doing what they were asked to do. Unlike the other suicide bombers who know exactly what they are doing, I hope you will join me in praying and hoping that for these two young down syndrome women, that there is a special place in heaven for them, and for the cowardly men who lied, manipulated, and put these innocent women up to it, I hope there is a special place in hell for them.

Now are you a woman with insomnia, listening to the show right now? We know you are out there, as a new study out of Zinaire has proven women experience statistically more nightmares than men and have more emotional dreams. In a study of 1700 voluntaries who were asked to record their most recent dreams, 19% of men reported a nightmare while 30% of women recorded the same. Researcher Jennifer Parker of the University of the West in Zinaire said there was no difference in the overall amount of dreams reported. She says research shows that women tend to have more disturbed sleep than men. Now I personally asked a bunch of women today if they believed this research to be true and almost every one of them said that the reason they have more nightmares....is that they are married to them. I don't know if that helps in the research much (*chuckles*).

FUS - you can certainly add your own if you wish or send me a tell and I can add it to tomorrow's post. Right now I just made a few stories based on my own imagination and some real life news stories (and I found two stories I covered which are based on current and past threads). If you want to add your own news release, feel free to post it. If you post your own here, I'll add a 'clip' of it to the next 'broadcast'.

Kurona - Yeah, I am looking forward to having actual special guest stories but I wanted to see the response before I dedicated any more effort into this. Feel free to send me a telegram or post here your ideas. I'm open to any type of guest that you could hear on the Coast To Coast AM radio program (http://www.coasttocoastam.com/shows/)

The view in the camera lens was dark and out of focus, soon adjusting as the operator moved in on a person lying on a tin rooftop above a main road. The occasional lorry sped along the road, carrying goods into and out of the capital of Alfegos along one of the major arteries. The person began to speak in a whisper.
"This is Yo'sa Ga'soi, reporter and paranormal investigator. This evening, I am studying case number one: that of the Ghost Girl of P21. She was first reported two months ago, with a women skidding off the road and rolling into the canal to try and avoid her running into the road, the authorities recording no such person. After that, there were thirty five more confirmed sightings, resulting in twenty-two more fatalities. They all occurred at around this time in the evening, so hopefully we will be able to see something tonight."

The shot blacked out, before the view reappeared. It was much later on, judging the by the darkness of the sky. Red street lamps lit the roads below from their view point, obviously on some sort of high rise. The zoom was into a patch of road below, where some form of figure could be seen.
"Yes! I think we've got her. The time is now 11:21pm, and there is definitely a figure in the road. We can't see clearly what or who it is, but there is a figure that suddenly appeared out of nowhere."
The camera moved as the viewers tried to get a better picture. Indeed, in the hard shoulder of the road, a small figure had appeared. In the distance, a vehicle was approaching. Unbelievably, it was an IFV, painted pitch black with a single burning palm tree on its side, along with a few identification numbers. As the girl ran into the middle of the highway, it pulled to a halt, brakes screeching as the back doors opened. Eight men leapt out, running over towards where the girl had been. In the confusion, the girl had vanished into nowhere.
"It just... vanished. It didn't jump over the railings, it just vanished. What is going on."
The cameraman moved as a few muttered swear words indicated that the soldiers below had just spotted them. Two cracks went up into the sky as they rolled down the other side onto a maintenance rail, before they sprinted into the stairwell and down brightly lit stairs. The video cut out as shouts came up the staircase.

Young men who die suddenly after being arrested by police may be victims of a new syndrome similar to one that kills wild animals that have been captured according to Greal researchers. Paul Freeman of the Seattle Research hospital said that his team reached a conclusion after investigating 60 cases of sudden, unexplained deaths in Greal following police detention. Just why they die remains a mystery but he and his team believe that, young men in particular, may experience surges in blood levels of chemicals when under severe stress such as adrenaline and that contributes to their instant deaths.

OOC: Great story! :)

I can see you put alot of effort into it. I'll Telegram a weird story to you later.

The first video to come on was what appeared to be a vision through thermal goggles or a scope of some kind or another. It was running and one could see cold, snowy ground passing below with feet rhythmically coming in and out of view near the bottom of the screen. One could hear heavy breathing and if you were a gym teacher one would be able to tell it sounded like a boy or girl in their early to late teens, running along at high speeds. One could hear snow crunching under the young person’s foot-falls. Then gunfire rings out and you can hear the young boy’s breathing slow a little and he stops running. The thermal camera view raises up quickly to show six other forms, all crouching or prone, firing off in to the distance where tiny bursts of color are coming from a nearby cluster of what seems to be some kind of bunker complex or a base of some sort.

The second video was once again in thermal vision of four men, including the camera-man, who are all slowly advancing. They are incredibly tall and are moving down a street, firing in to windows and alleys while other people of similar sizes fall back, and normal-sized people seem to take cover behind anything that’s available. They opened up until one of the men near the front of the quartet raises his hands as a dull beeping sound can be heard and he sits down, then a second. Soon the camera-man sets down his own gun and does the same and the fourth only gets a few feet farther ahead before finally sitting down, the dull beeping seeming to come from everywhere.

The sender of the telegram with the videos is marked as an anonymous sender.

ooc: Thanks Stoklomolvi. You have no idea how much that means. You know, I honestly was going to end this thread with that last post because of the little to zero interest in it but now I think I will keep it going. Thanks! I also will love to see what stories you have for your nation. Like the civil war or other threads I have seen, I wanted to write about it but I'm not sure exactly where things are at that point.

To all: if you are having a war or other event in your nation and want me to include a sumary of it in a 'broadcast' please feel free to type up a short blurb about it and TG it to me. I'll happily add it here! Depending on how this goes, I may start doing a short 2-5 minute long 'podcast' where I or a friend would read this as if it were a real radio program, and we would include a link to that file to go along with the typed up transcript. Feel free to give any ideas you have!

ooc: about the recall, did you just make that up?

ooc: Actually, no. That one is a true story, but it seemed to fit so well in the style I was going for, I just used it. I left the name of the company the same as did I leave where it was sold. I feel that recalls are major importance and if I hear of one or you see one in my thread, it isn't made up. I'll modify the nation (of course) but the other details will be the same. If you have this goal, and have children, please do a google search and get the recall information.

I would love to do an FT version, but... it'd be copying concept...

ooc: This mainly is MT but as you may see I have sprinkled some space-related and UFO-related stories that I thought FT nations could play off of if they wished. If you want me to write something up about a FT nation, I can certainly do it as an "aliens say this is going to happen" or "this is the way aliens live" story from a 'UFO-nut'.

If you want to do your own version of this for FT nations, you have my blessings!

Again, if you sent me a TG asking to include a story you made or an idea you have, please know I will get that out in the next post.

For those who are wondering, if you have a story you want included, feel free to send me a TG or even just post something here and I will include it in the next broadcast!

ALSO TO ANYONE: if I have posted anything about your country here, feel free to take that idea and run with it. If you want to start a thread of your own about it or just want to make a short blurb in this thread, feel free to do so. If you DON'T like what I have done, or do not want your country used, feel free to speak up or send me a TG letting me know. I'm easy to work with and respect your ownership of your own nation.

In the producer’s booth, the a line rang with a call and once it was opened a altered voice, the sender obviously from Ursava, came up and started to speak. It was a genderless voice, obviously computer-edited by the speaker on the other end.

“Hello there Mister Ross, I am responding to your request for anybody with information on Ursava to call in. I would like to go on the record as stating that the rumors of the air-traffic being diverted from the country is entirely false but there is, in fact, a cordoned-off area in the mountains of northern Ursava.

What you witnessed however, was not actual combat but camera footage from both kid-soldiers and genetically enhanced men in MILES training. The government has refused to acknowledge their existence and all roads up to the general area for up to twenty miles have had signs placed threatening anybody who drives past them with possible death. It is training for two new types of combat units. Currently, my associates and I have nick-named them ‘Little Devils’ and ‘Genetics’ in all our online blogs and reports on them.”

<Intro Music - The Chase>

Michael Ross:

From the High Karshka Mountains off the Great Northland Sea, I bid you all Good Evening, Good Morning, Good Afternoon where ever you may be across these many, many time zones... and let me assure you, we cover them all. Stretching from The Ryou Black Islands in the west, east to the coasts of Aissur, South into Thrashia, all the way to the North Pole and world-wide on the Internet, you have just connected to the world's #1 most listened to late-night talk show...This is "Into the Unknown", I'm Michael Ross.

Next hour: Dr. Michio Kaku is an internationally recognized authority in theoretical physics and also the environment. He graduated from Harvard in 1968 suma cum laude and number one in his physics class. He received his PHD from the University of Calberk, Radiation Laboratory in 1972 and now holds a professorship in theoretical physics at the City College in Zostar, Karshkovia. He is the Co-Founder of String Field Theory. Dr. Kaku has lectured around the world and his PHD level text books are required reading at many of the top physics laboratories. He has written nine books and his last two, Hyperspace and Vision we will discuss tonight.

First I want to welcome our new affiliates to the growing Unknown family: WAKO FM in Yanitaria, WZTV FM and KGRL AM in Greal, KDUD AM and KPAB AM in Pan-Arab Barronia, and WASI AM in Aissur. We thank you for joining us in exploring the Unknown.

Last hour of last night's program we got a call from a woman by the name of Jackie, very despondent over the loss of her husband in the Stoklomolvi civil war. With her husband gone she had no income, no way to pay for a funeral, no way to pay her mortgage and no way to pay her bills. Yesterday she had been given a notice by the bank that they were starting proceedings to foreclose on her home. Jackie said she had put a shotgun to her mouth and pulled the trigger several times but nothing happened, thank god. We spoke for some time on and off the air and after putting her in touch with a licensed and practicing psychiatrist, Dr. Randy Morgan, who's radio program runs just prior to ours, I promised I would call her back today. I did call back today and found that she is doing much better, in extraordinarily good spirits. Apparently she had gotten a number of calls after the show from friends and strangers who were calling to give her emotional support. One in particular has changed her life for the better.

William Kingsly, a construction worker from Ustio North was touched by Jackie's sorrow and decided to do a little good in her life. After talking with Jackie's bank, Mr. Kingsly paid off Jackie's home mortgage and deposited $10 Million Universal Standard Dollars into an account for Jackie to use in anyway she sees fit. As it turns out, in 2006, Mr. Kingsly won a $200 Million National Lottery and since has spent his time helping others less fortunate. Mr. Kingsly issued a statement to his local news affiliates stating he was in a similar situation to Jackie's just before he won the National lottery a few years ago and after hearing her story last night, he decided to pass on his luck to her. Jackie is completely overwhelmed by his generosity and has said after she comes down off of the emotional rollercoaster of the last few days, she would like to thank Mr. Kingsly in person.

Well the popular anti-wrinkle drug BOTOX and a competitor have been linked to dangerous botulism symptoms in some users. Cases so bad that even a few children given the drugs for muscle spasms have died the Free United States government has warned. The nation's Drug Bureau has issued a warning that includes both BOTOX, a wrinkle-specific version called BOTOX Cosmetic, and it's competitor MILDBLOCK. The drugs both use botulism toxin to block nerve impulses causing muscles to relax. In rare cases the toxin can spread beyond the injection site to other parts of the body paralyzing or weakening the muscles used for breathing and swallowing which can be a potentially fatal side effect.

Tazhistan police invaded Karshkovian territory and held a member of the Karshkovia border guard at gunpoint according to a report from the union representing the guard. On August 24th of this year, Tazhistan police from a boarder city crossed over the boarder and pointed rifles at him, according to the union. Karshkovian military personal arrived from a local military post after the guard sounded an alert and turned the tables on the Tazhistani police who had illegally entered the country. After a brief standoff, the police were allowed to go back over the border however as a lesson, the Karshkovian military commander made the Tazhistani officers leave their weapons and clothing where they were and cross back over the border naked. An investigation by Into the Unknown has revieled dozens of such incidents armed incursions of Tazhistani police and military into Karshkovia during the fiscal year of 2008. According to a report in the Zostar Post, it was unclear why the Tazhistani police were doing inside Karshkovia but the report also stated that military and police authorities in Karshkovia suspect that these incursions are done by Tazhistani law enforcement and military soldiers who have been paid off to protect drug and illegal immigrant smuggling operations. In response to this, Karshkovian authorities have doubled the guards at all boarder crossings, fortified boarder guard posts and stated that the next time Tazhistani military or police step over the boarder they will be met by 'a hail of lead'.

In what some call a response to the boarder tightening, Tazhistan has test-fired a long range missile in what it says are threats from Karshkovia and Stoklomolvi. Here is a quote now from Tazhistan's Commander of their armed forces, "We want to tell the world that those who conduct their foreign policies by using the language of threat against Tazhistan have to know that our finger is always on the trigger and we have hundreds, thousands of missiles ready to be fired against predetermined targets." Tazhistan's military test-fired a "Mehkido VI" missile and several other missiles during war games in the Northland Sea. Reports from Karshkovia's Intelligence agencies have all confirmed that while Tazhistan does not have any nuclear program, or nuclear warheads to put on their missiles, Chemical or Biological agents are still rumored to be in their arsenal. Early next hour, we will check in with International News Daily’s Peter Sandstrom about the possibility of war with Tazhistan.

Now I have not had an opportunity to speak with you on this next subject for a while and it's been eating at me, but now with the new activity, I feel it is a good time to talk about our sun. Oh my god the sun, the sun is ramping up for an 11 year solar maximum and right now the sunspots are incredible. Here in Karshkovia the wildfires to the north of me are casting a great amount of smoke in our skies, enough to look at the sun without filters and my god the number and size of the sunspots is amazing. On Sunday, we had a mega-flare up above the X range then we had an X-Flare that rivaled the size and strength of the mega-flare merely hours apart and both aimed at earth. We have been SLAMMED here on earth by the sun and Auroras are being reported as far south as Izistan. Here in Karshkovia, the skies at night are blood red, blood red from the Auroras and given what we know of Aurora coloring, we are now getting higher than average radiation levels hitting the earth and will continue to have them through next Saturday. You can imagine how it is affecting communication on the shortwave bands and Izistan, Allanea, Rithia and Northern Chenko have all lost communication satellites from the extremely high levels of radiation striking them. In fact, due to the atmosphere expanding outward from the increased solar activity, Beatus lost a low-orbit military satellite. The satellite slowed because of increased drag from the earth's extended atmosphere, and then it fell out of orbit crashing into the ocean. Aviation Authorities the world over are warning airline passengers flying north of the 35th parallel, they could expect to accumulate the equivalent radiation of two chest X-rays for every hour spent above 20,000 feet.

The tiny nation of Roef has declared war on the nation of Sandi-Maru-Jet after unconfirmed reports of a boarder skirmish taking place in a remote area along the border between the two nations a few days ago. Both governments have yet to confirm or deny this incident, and diplomacy efforts have seemed to have failed. To bring order to the area, Ustio North has declared it's intentions to end the hostilities quickly and firmly. Karshkovian President Vladimir Radchenko has issued a statement that he is watching the situation carefully and may assist Ustio in ending hostilities. We'll keep an eye on this situation for you.

In Tolvan's biggest coastal city last night, residents were watched in amazement as lights of unknown origin danced in the skies above the city. The lights appeared above the city about one hour after sunset, and hung in a triangle formation until night fall. After that time, the formation broke up and the lights started to chase each other and perform intricate maneuvers that were beyond the capabilities of current military or civilian aircraft. For five hours last night these lights seemed to play above the city. Countless amateur videos have appeared on the internet documenting this event and nearly all local and nation news stations captured this on film. Today, Government officials stated that residents merely caught military flares that were caught in unusual air currents on tape. Even in the face of video from national news agencies which have high-definition video where detailed triangle shaped craft are seen, the government maintains these were just flares.

The Neo-Ixania airline Red Bird is now going to charge you for blankets and pillows. That's right, the airline has done away with recycled blankets and pillows used on its flights and have started offering the eco-friendly travel blanket and pillow set for Seven Universal Standard Dollars which you take with you after you leave the flight. Two window washers plunged twenty stories to their deaths after a main and security cable snapped on their platform. The accident occurred at the World Financial Center in Orbath, just across the street from the Stock Exchange. At first passerby’s thought that it had been two stock brokers who had jumped from the building, due in part to the unstable market in that country. As it turns out, the men had not followed safety guidelines which stated how much weight was allowed on the platform at one time. They also failed to secure themselves to the platform in the event that this would have happened.

Pan-Arab Barronia scientists say that a five year study has proven that injection of high levels of Vitamin C can hold back the advance of some types of cancer! The vitamin starts a destructive chain reaction within the cancer cells which lead to their demise, and also prevents the spread of cancer through the body. More research is needed to understand the amounts needed and other variables to create a true cure for some types of cancer. Researchers are not saying at this time what cancers are affected since they wish to have more evidence before presenting the world with this cure but they are fairly certain it will not be much longer until the first true cure is perfected.

Scientists in Uiri have said they have completed the world's first commercial cloning of a pet dog. Jill Feabody of Imbrinium paid $59,000 Universal Standard Dollars for five identical copies of "Missy" her beloved English Springer Spaniel. Scientists at the Uiri National University created a number of embryos from preserved skin cells taken from "Missy's" ear tissue before she died. The embryos were then implanted in two surrogate mother dogs and three months later the puppies were born. Ms. Feabody must really have loved "Missy" to shell out over $50,000 for clones. Amazingly, the puppies do have all the same markings that the original "Missy" had, however it is too soon to say if any will have the "Mad Clone" or "Clone Rage" issues that other cloned animals have shown in the past.

Well they say that smoking can kill...er...sort of. In Vetalia a woman was thrown onto a railway line after she asked two teenagers to kindly obey the posted rules and not smoke on a train platform. The woman, an off-duty police officer, suffered burns and a broken collarbone after the teenagers burnt her with their cigarettes and then pushed her off the platform into the way of train bound to stop at the platform. The woman was able to roll out of the way of the train, and another off-duty police officer was able to subdue and arrest the teens before they escaped. Because of the nature of the crime, both are being charged as adults and face "Aggravated Assault and Battery", "Malicious Unprovoked Violence", "Fleeing Police", "Resisting Arrest", "Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer", and "Attempted Murder" charges. The parents of the teens have protested the charges, saying they are too severe and it was just teenagers being teenagers. If found guilty of the charges, each teen would face the possibility of a minimum prison sentence of five years served and five years probation. Maximum sentencing would mean a 25 year sentence for the teens.

An Belschaft man who was knocked unconscious during a stampede of thousands of religious pilgrims on a steep mountain path woke up, get this....he woke up as doctors were preparing to perform his autopsy! 19 years old, he lost consciousness in the stamped which killed 115 people, after he tripped, fell, and hit his head during the rush away from the old temple as a rumor spread that a terrorist bomb containing a chemical warhead was found. There was no bomb, and no-one knows how the rumor started.

Eating brocolli, they say, can reverse the damage caused by diabetes to the heart and blood vessels, according to a report out of The Blackhelm Confederacy. They found that in the vegetable, there is a compound that encourages production of enzymes which protect the blood vessels from molecules that cause cell damage.

In Alfegos, a man nearly died after doctors at a local hospital gave him the wrong anti-venom. Carl VanDerbek, a professor of anthropology and licensed venomous snake owner, was feeding one of the one hundred and twenty venomous snakes of his personal collection when he was bitten on his left index finger by a Death Adder. Carl was rushed to the hospital where the doctors, due to a miscommunication, gave him an anti-venom shot for a Diamondback Rattlesnake instead of a Death Adder. A nurse noticed the mistake before Mr. Vanderbek was given the entire dose and doctors quickly corrected the error. The Professor stated that he was still going to continue owning venomous snakes and said it was his own fault for being in a rush and not using long enough forceps to feed the snake that bit him.

Well to brighten your spirits, a Greali woman was arrested after she attacked her husband with a frozen lasagna. I kid you not. After the woman found out her husband was having an affair with his assistant, she confronted him about it while he sat near their outdoor pool at their home. After arguing with her husband, the woman grabbed his work laptop and threw it into the pool. After a brief confrontation, the man was pushed into the pool by his wife, who then ran into the house and grabbed a box of frozen lasagna that she had just set out for the couple's dinner. The man followed her inside, only to be hit upside his head with the box of lasagna and thus knocked unconscious. The woman called the emergency service, believing she had killed her husband accidentally. The husband is not pressing charges, and in lieu of being charged for disturbing the peace and domestic violence the couple has agreed to attend marriage counseling.

A 78 year old woman from Allenea became the worlds oldest woman to give birth after she delivered twins. She's a wife of a retired farmer and delivered the twins, a boy and girl, via C-section. She has two adult daughters and five grandchildren. She underwent invitro-fertilization because she wanted to produce a male heir and she got one.

A two year old boy set off a city-wide search in Zinaire after he decided to take his aunt's pet dog out for a walk at 1 o'clock in the morning. Tomas Windspear went to bed after a family BBQ but then decided he wanted to take a walk, so he waited until everyone was asleep and the little two year old just put a leash on his aunt's beagle puppy named "Conan" and out he went into the night. They strolled around for three hours, when finally a neighbor returning from a wedding reception spotted the pair and called police. The police searched for an hour before the aunt frantically called the dispatcher to report her nephew missing. Police searched an additional two hours before finding the little boy, who was by this time walking on the sidewalks in the city's downtown holding the sleeping puppy. Police returned him to his aunt's house where Tomas said he wasn't running away but just felt like walking around the neighborhood. Both boy and puppy are ok.

Well it's official; In Karshkovia, President Radchenko issued a $2 Trillion executive order that requires Karshkovia to 'go green' by the end of 2010. Citing concerns over rises in pollution, rising gas prices, increasing dependence on foreign nations to refine Karshkovia's vast oil reserves, and the issue of larger and larger landfills of waste products President Radchenko signed an executive order which requires radical changes in Karshkovia's energy needs. Included in this order is a section that requires Karshkovia's regional branches of World Rally Cup and NASCAR to be gasoline-free by the end of the 2009 season. NASCAR fans in Karshkovia are not too happy about the call as many have said that the roar of the gasoline engines in the cars is part of the experience of the sport. No word yet as to the Official response from either of these organizations to these orders.

Ralkovian scientist have claimed to have created a new element called necklogen. Reports indicate this element is to be the strongest metal in the world, however scientists from around the world are skeptical of this announcement. The so-called necklogen metal was created by adding 4 protons and electrons to the artificial element of ununoctium giving necklogen the atomic number 122, stated Doctor Victor Lassero, Head of Earth Sciences at the National University in Ralkovia. The metal is said to be lighter than titanium but almost 1000 times as strong. The discovering team wishes to have its atomic symbol as NCK though the world scientific community would need to review this new element before giving it the go-ahead nod. Amazingly, research suggests that while the element is extremely large, it shows no signs of emitting radiation or being harmful to humans, though further testing will need to be done.

A woman in Nord Cilla, along the [/b]Commonwealth of Free States[/b] northern coast, is under arrest for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Lorna Thomasson called emergency services last night, frantically saying that her boyfriend of two years, Micha Daniels had fallen on a knife and stabbed himself. When medical personnel arrived, they found the man had multiple stab wounds which was inconsistent with the girlfriend's report. Police were then notified and after being taken into custody, Lorna admitted to stabbing her boyfriend during an argument. She is currently awaiting trial in Nord Cilla County Jail.

From the Empire of Forensatha, top-secret documents detailing a current genetic enchancement program, where the government is trying to genetically engineer superhumans, as appeared on the internet. Government representatives have called the leaked documents preposterous fakes which unjustly tarnish the government's image. Officials have pointed out that all current research into human genetics is publically available to the request of any citizen. Those who believe these documents are real have pointed out the recent assignment of geneticists to FISTA as proof of the validity of the documents, as none of the projects the organization is working on are actually related to genetics.

On the subject of genetics, HumanAugs, a Third Spanish State company has managed in creating the first genetically modified human. Reports from various news sources do not agree as to how the baby had been modified, however it did die five hours after birth with a cardiac arrest. We will watch for news on this story and bring you updates as we are given them.

The Stoklomolvi Civil War is heating up. The six battling factions; the Communists, the Liberals, the Imperialists, the Fascists, the Soviets, and the Centralists have fought each other for quite a while now, though now it seems the number may soon be cut down to five. Reports indicate that after a bloody weekend battle, the Soviets maneuvered for a power play which has nearly gutted the Centralists party. Unconfirmed reports from the battle-torn nations indicate that the Centralist party may have been completely eradicated, and the current fighting is in an all-or-nothing state right now. Shockingly, the huge metropolis of Muscovy has been completely obliterated by nuclear attacks, with untold millions dead and dying from radiation poisoning. Karshkovian officials have stated that they will take no military stance in this civil war, nor will they lend military aid to any faction, however millions of gallons of fresh water, food, medical supplies and temporary housing is being shipped to help Stoklomolvi's citizens who have been affected by this battling. No word yet as to the response to this large gift of humanitarian aid from any of the warring factions.

Nuclear secrets are no longer secret. Videos have been appearing up on the popular video archive site Youtube advertising an auction for a nuclear program and include a phone number to call. The videos show the auction will have complete blueprints for nuclear devices, as well as the nuclear warheads for five Tomahawk cruise missiles. While there are no confirmed reports on who is behind the auction or where it is to take place, experts have confirmed from what they have seen the items displayed in the videos appears to be real. Unconfirmed reports suggest that this is a serious auction however because the ads have been placed on popular consumer websites such E-Bay and Craigslist and the popular video website Youtube, doubt on the authenticity of the auction has caused many to dismiss this as fake.

In the tiny nation of Sholc a military coup has taken place. After an uprising lasting approximately five hours yesterday was put down by military forces, the military turned against the nation and attempted a military coup. The reasoning behind this turn of events has not been released but news reports from inside the country indicate the Capital was conventionally bombed by the country's air force. Karshkovia officials have confirmed that no known Karshkovian citizen is currently listed as being in the nation of Sholc at this time, and no actions will be taken to support either side in this conflict.

Well we are up against the break. Boy time flies. When we return: Dr. Michio Kaku and open lines. Stay Tuned!

OOC: Nice. I've never been called a Bringer Of Order before. Did you get my TG about a story idea?

09-10-2008, 13:42
Last hour of last night's program we got a call from a Imperial Isa woman by the name of Jackie, very despondent over the loss of her husband in the Stoklomolvi civil war. One in particular has changed her life for the better.

ooc whole thing wrong due to the fact
1: i have no troops there or any one married to someone there
2:she would be serving part time in the Imperial military an getting paid to do so ,as all females do
4: the only bank there is ,can't foreclose on any homes if you lose someone in a war as the law say so
5:Imperial Isa FT an use clone troops and not from this dimension

so next time you want to put my nation in the news Please TG me

ooc: No problem, II. I'll keep you out of all future posts. Sorry for the inconvenience. Modified the report. I was more thinking that her husband was killed in Muscovy since it was nuked and being a huge metro-area, I thought it would be believable a citizen of another country would possibly be there on business or such. Kind of like how there were foreign persons killed in the towers during 9/11. Could be that they were living in Stoklomolvi and owned a home in that nation when this happened (as like my neighbor who is Bosnian with a green card...owns his own home but isn't a citizen). Wasn't thinking he was actually fighting in the war but I can see how someone could think he was since I didn't specify it. Sorry.

First I want to welcome our new affiliates to the "Into the Unknown" family: WLS AM, Höfn's Talk Station Radio in The Beatus; RCCPR AM "Ryouese State Radio" in The Ryou Black Islands; WDAY AM "News-Talk 970", KFGO AM "The Mighty 790", KQWB AM "Zostar's Voice" in Karshkovia; KBAP AM "News and Views" and WRVR FM "The River" in Brittanican Adenia . What is going on in the weather? Well next hour, meteorologist Matt Stevens joins us to discuss his new book, "Warm Winter" and the changing climate of our planet. He has some theories on why our weather is changing, including pole shifts, global warming, and shifts in the North Atlantic Current causing a shutdown of the thermohaline circulation. Fascinating information that may change how you view our changing weather.

Homicide detectives are investigating the bizarre death of an Aequatio man after his suicide attempt turned into a fight with his girlfriend. Listen to this story; According to police, Sleven Kevorkian, -- no relation to the doctor -- was found hanging on the inside of his bedroom closet by his girlfriend. Investigators said that after the girlfriend cut Sleven down and revived him, the 36 year old Kevorkian started pulling his girlfriend around his bedroom by her hair, angry with her. Police said the altercation was noticed by a man and woman who were walking by the apartment complex during their nightly stroll. The man climbed up to the second story apartment and forced his way into an open window in the apartment to stop Kevorkian from beating his girlfriend. During the struggle between the men, the passerby put Kevorkian in a sleeper hold. Kevorkian lost consciousness and was taken to the local hospital where he died hours later due to what doctors are calling extreme shock. They say his body was not able to handle losing oxygen to the brain twice in such a short time frame. The man who assisted Kevorkian's girlfriend was questioned and then released by police. No charges are pending. Ok, now the guy's name is Kevorkian, he's trying to commit suicide, his girlfriend saves him from his attempt and he starts to beat her up, and then ends up dying from a sleeper hold. I mean could that....could that be more definitive of the kind of concept of destiny? Somehow? I don't know but I did chuckle for a while after reading it the first time.

The combined governments of the ODECON alliance are sending medical supplies to the Imperial Republic of Greston after doctors in Greston reported the first case of "Dengue fever" had been uncovered. Reports from Greston indicate that the populus is calm but the tension is thick with fear in the nation. Because the national supplies needed to fight the disease are in limited, and now dwindling, numbers the nations of Leistungi and Stevidian, amoung others, have assembled a fleet of supply ships full of medication and supplies. Officials have stated that because of the possibility of piracy, the convoy of ships is being escorted by destroyers from many nations. All the nations involved in this humanitarian aid effort have venomously denied reports that the ships contain troops and main battle tanks to bolster Greston's defenses against Gatawan aggression.

According to a study conducted by the Department of Armed Services and leaked onto the internet, Roef's military is not ready to defend against a homeland attack. More than 88% of homeland guard units are unprepared for catastrophic attack because of Roef's current war efforts overseas. Appalling gaps pose risks in response to chemical, biological, nuclear, or even conventional incidents. No comment from Roef over the leaked report, however because of current aggressions by Roef, I am sure many nations will be looking over this report at great length. Earlier today, Karshkovian Prime Minister Valentina Borofski issued a statement, labeling the country of Roef as an enemy state after unprovoked attacks on neighboring nations. As such all trade and travel to that nation has been severed and rumors of a blockade of the country have been swirling. We will keep you updated as more news breaks.

As we reported yesterday, Necklogen, the newest element which was discovered by Ralkovia scientists, was formally added to the periodic table in Ralkovia and ten allied countries. while scientists are still researching this new elements data table, other scientists around the world are beginning to confirm Ralkovia's discovery and formal adoption by the international community may be only months away. Congratulations to the discovering team.

Well, the nation of Motokatan is hosting an internationally acclaimed gala, the Grand Motokatan Ball, for leaders and heads of state of nations around the world. This international Mix and Mingle event aims at creating a better understanding between leaders of different nations and perhaps new friendships. The history of Motokatan Balls is illustrious and inside reports state this will be one of the events of the year to attend, which after hearing I find myself now wishing I had gone into politics instead of radio. *chuckles* well here is to hoping for an RSVP of my very own.

Speaking on Balls, the nation of Tanuri plans to host their first formal ball at the royal palace on the island of Montenista. While the event is free, only Leaders, Heads of State, Nobles and Royalty are invited.

Ladies, you may want to turn your radios up for this. The Crown Prince of Nathan Gervais of Tanuri is looking for a bride, states an official message from the reigning monarcy. The 27 year old prince is next in line to be crowned king and many are citing the King's battle with lung cancer as one reason the Monarcy has issued an open letter to all women of the world. Interestingly, there has been no limitation yet to only royalty or those who are in some way related to heads of state. Those interested, and I am sure there are a few "Unknown" listeners that are, should send a letter of inquiry to the Palace of Virnoa on the Island of Montenista. I wish any of you who do send in letters the best of luck.

If that doesn't tickle your fancy, The King of Miroxia is looking for a Queen. That is right, King Andrew Williams the III has issued a proclamation that he is in search of a wife and lineage is not a factor. Interested women should send a letter including all your pertinent information to 76925 Government Lane, Port Durant, Miroxia, and Addressed to the King himself. Again, best wishes to you all.

A new nation The Republic of Aresium has joined the international scene! In an announcement earlier this week, the tiny nation opened their boarders to the world and the response has been favorable. The nation's government, modeled upon the Republic as developed by Plato, has stated they welcome relations with all nations regardless of political and religious beliefs. President Radchenko of Karshkovia is said to be planning a response to this announcement very soon.

Seismologists around the world have detected a massive explosion in Ralkovia earlier today with the equivalent to nearly five megatons. Unconfirmed reports from Ralkovia have indicated that the explosion occurred on or near a Research laboratory in the Deonal Desert, and all communications with a small town just 100 miles away from the explosion has ceased. Again these are unconfirmed reports. No official statement from Ralkovia as of yet, but some minor Officials suggested that an eco-terrorist group who has been threatening the research facility with bombs over the last year, may have detonated a bomb which damaged the nuclear reactors used to power the facility, and set off a chain of events leading to the meltdown of the reactors. Wow. This is not the official stance of the government yet, however and early reports from nations surrounding Ralkovia find no increased radiation readings or any indications of a nuclear explosion. Very odd.

Breaking news for those looking to start a family in Talentay; The Department of Population Control has issued a statement that has some citizens in an uproar, stating it is against Talentay law for any couple to have more than three children. Listen to this shocking law: If a couple has a fourth child, the government will either kill the child at birth or force the woman to have an abortion. All children, upon reaching puberty, must be registered with the state. Any couple wishing to have children must be certified by the state to do so. No word yet as to multiple births such as quintuplets, families that already have more than three children, women who are already pregnant or non-citizens such as those on work visas or in Talentay on education visas.

The Tea War between Ryou Black Islands and East Conagree was taken to new levels as the Ryouese armada is leveling Qingdao while 12,000 people were killed in Comoros by East Conagree's forces. As of now the two nations are at a standstill and neither side seems to have the upper hand. Military experts are predicting a cease fire may be called within a few months if neither side makes any headway in the war.

Fighting broke out today between Leftist guerillas and Tolvan's Regular Army in Africa after a mortar attack on a Tolvan convoy left ten soldiers dead and thirty wounded. Tolvan's Regulars responded by attacking a village suspected of harboring the guerillas who had orchestrated the attack, leaving over 200 villagers dead and leveling the village itself. In a related event, three captured guerillas from an

In a surprising move Brittanican Adenia has decided to incorporate 1960's aircraft into their Royal Air Service. Air Service Officials stated Wednesday afternoon that they were reforming 900 Squadron, a Tactical Strike Avro Vulcan B.2B squadron. Experts disagree with public opinion that this is a mistake citing facts that despite its large size, the aircraft has a relatively small radar cross-section. Like the B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber, the Avro Vulcan had a fortuitously stealthy shape apart from the tail fin. Slight modifications would allow the aircraft to be extremely stealthy for a not-intended stealth design. There has been no mention of the costs involved to bring the aircraft out of mothballs, or to retool the parts needed to keep the aircraft airworthy, or the costs involved to refit the aircraft with modern electronics and weapon racks for the current standard bomb load. Critics also point out that to fit current Royal Air Service requirements, a "rear crew" ejection system would need to be designed and fitted to the aircraft.

Are any of you rock fans? If so, the Rocktober Tour is beginning their international tour tomorrow in Ralkovia. The bands include Buck Cherry, Velvet Revolver, Rage Against the Machine, Veruca Salt, Tool, Static X, Ozzy Osborne, Metallica, Mudvane, Disturbed, System of a Down, and Sevendust. The tour will include 25 countries and each stop will be a two day festival. Countries included in the tour are Tolvan, Free United States, and Allanea. Event coordinators have said that if the country has a law against profiteering, the shows in that country would be performed free of charge.

Authorities say a Leistung man survived after his hot air balloon plunged, get this now, thousands of feet at a Hot Air Balloon festival last Monday. The basket caught a tree limb 10 feet before it hit the ground. Man someone was watching over him. Great Southern Leistung Balloon Fest officials say the pilot, Chuck Wallas, broke his left leg and pelvis and has undergone surgery to repair the damage. Hospital officials say he is recovering in satisfactory condition.

In Ryou Black Islands a teenager was throwing eggs at cars as part of a late night prank when he was shot in the head, killed. Police say the 16 year old boy was with at least one other teenage boy in the back yard of a home when someone shot him in the head. Another Ryou teenager was killed in an egging incident in December 2006. A 14 year old was shot after a group of boys threw an egg at a passing car. No one has been charged in either case.

In Third Spanish States be wary while you are running or jogging, especially between kangaroos. A jogger has been taken to a hospital after he was attacked by a kangaroo. The man in his 50's was attacked after he apparently ran between a male and female kangaroo near his home. The female went after him, and he man was able to get into his home and call for help where he was taken to a hospital by ambulance. He is in stable condition though he suffered a five inch gash on his forehead and claw marks all over his chest, arms, and hands. The man reportedly quipped at doctors that he wasn't any worse off than he was after a night with his wife.

In Ustio North, a reporter may have captured more than she should have on film. While taping a rare aurora borealis display over the capital city, Kristin Mosse, a reporter for a local news affiliate caught the unexplainable on tape. During her taped report from the top of her new station's rooftop, Ms. Mosse caught strange lights flashing on the top of a skyscraper many blocks away. Before she could refocus her camera, the lights ceased and amazingly the aurora display immediately vanished. Ms. Mosse was able to catch what looks to be five soldiers dressed in dark black battle armor carrying odd looking weapons, board an unmarked black helicopter which had swooped down out of the sky quietly and then quickly left the city to the north. Ms. Mosse made a digital copy of her tape, which she had sent to this program and we have put up on our website for your viewing pleasure. We have not been able to contact Ms. Mosse after she sent us the tape however and the news station at which she works has issued a statement that Ms. Mosse is on an indefinite personal leave of absence and they do not know when she will return.

We are back folks. Well this is certainly interesting. We are now on a backup system everybody. A backup system. And Kristin I guess was about in the middle of her sentence which was one of the strangest and scariest calls I have ever taken, when our entire transmitting system by satellite went down here, we lost Kristin, and we were then notified we were off the air. It would appear to be from this end in some sort of massive transmitter failure. So we are now using a backup system to be on the air, and not that I would normally believe this kind of thing mind you, but I can’t help but wonder if somebody, somebody’s zapped us in some way, uhhh we’ll find out. Our technician, Steven, says I quote “the transmitter blew its cookies” in some way and when pressed further said it “just went belly up”. Something knocked us off the air and we are on a backup dual ISDN system right now. I’ve never seen this happen in all the years I have done this show. What is stranger is the fact that we went to our primary backup system which was a second transmitter, nearly immediately after the first failed and then switched to a secondary backup system when the primary backup also ceased to function. When the third backup transmitter failed, we reverted to this ancient last-resort link to our backup transmitting site which is the government broadcast center in Zostar, Karshkovia. As it appears, this transmitter is not affected by the same odd event that killed our local transmitters here.

As it is, we are going to take a break to look further into this issue and when we return, our special guest Matt Stevens.

In Aequatio a fifteen year old boy who wasn’t getting along with his parents has been charged with attempted murder now of his parents and two younger brothers. The teenager had gotten into an argument with his over their refusal to give him an allowance and buy him a Playstation 3. After the argument, the young man was sent to his room while the rest of the family gathered to watch TV in the living room. Well the flu season is in full swing with wide outbreaks world wide with no country left unaffected by the virus. A new strain found a month ago isn’t targeted by this year’s vaccine, Aresium officials say. According to officials, the flu infects approximately 20% of the world’s population, causes the hospitalization of about 3% and kills just under 500,000 world wide. I still, personally, do not get the flu shot. You do whatever your conscious tells you to do.

In Ustio , the Bureau of Central Intelligence is gearing up to build a massive computer database of all it’s citizens, foreigners who enter the country, and foreigners who have business or personal dealings with or in the country. The database will include all normal information, but also include physical descriptions, finger and palm prints, voice prints, and DNA samples and other biological markers of all persons. The BCI will share this database with other Intelligence agencies in the country. Citizens are strongly split on the issue that this causes major privacy concerns, while others are concerned it will be used to keep a ‘finger’ on ‘undesirables’ that the government does not care for. The BCI says the database is to be used to track and monitor known terrorist suspects and will announce the winner of the $1 Billion Universal Standard Dollar, 10 year contract to build the database and maintain it.

The next time you go out to pump some gasoline on a cold, rainy, windswept day and you are out there in the weather wondering “Gosh, what the heck am I doing?” Well think what is happening in Lynion. Motorists in the nostalgia in the time that they could sit back in their warm vehicles while gas station attendants filled their tank may see these days return, complements of a Lynion robot. Lynion inventors unveiled an $111,100 Universal Standard Dollar car-fueling robot they say is a first of its kind. Working by registering a car on arrival at the filling station and matching it to a database of fuel cap designs and fuel types, a robotic arm fitted with multiple sensors extends from a regular pump carefully opens the car’s fuel door, unscrews the fuel cap, picks up the fuel nozzle and directs it to the tank opening, much as a human arm would do. Sensors on the arm would adjust for height and retract the arm if the sensors detect that the gas flap is not where it should be or if the sensors detect the vehicle has been modified.

Unconfirmed reports are streaming in from a remote area of the Blackhelm Confederacy where there was said to be a UFO landing which lasted, get this, 30 hours! Ten miles south of the small, remote community of Chestnut Creek a UFO reportedly landed in the early morning hours and was discovered by a pair of undergraduates from a local college. Community law enforcement went to check the story of the undergraduates to find beings doing what looked to be repair work on the craft. The officers did not approach the beings and left immediately for their headquarters in town to report their findings to a local military base. Base Officials didn’t give the report much thought until the base started receiving dozens of calls from town residents who also had seen the craft and its occupants. Base officials finally sent a pair of helicopters to check the report however by that time the craft had left. Witness described a saucer-shaped craft with human-like beings repairing a charred hole in the side of the craft. Prior to the military helicopters arriving, the UFO left the area and passed over the town slowly and silently. Apparently there were physical injuries as the craft’s appearance over the town caused a few minor automobile accidents. Attempts to take video or digital photography failed due to widespread electrical disturbances that stopped an hour after the craft’s departure.

Actor Joey Tribbiani, best known for his role as Dr. Drake Ramoray on the serial drama Days of Our Lives and leading roles in the big-budget action pictures Captured and Captured Again has been cleared of serious tax-evasion charges. A federal jury in The Free United States returned a mixed verdict against Tribbiani last Friday, acquitting him on the serious tax charges but convicting him on three of the six lesser charges. Tribbiani had been charged with multiple counts of tax evasion in August of 2007 when an investigation of another actor turned up discrepancies in Tribbiani’s filings. During the trial, lawyers for the actor were able to prove to the jury that Tribbiani’s accountant had tricked the actor by convincing him the tax forms had been filed but then secretly pocketed the money that would have been owed in taxes. According to court documents, Tribbiani owed $1.4 million dollars in back taxes however the judge reduced the amount owed to $500,000, which includes court fees, because of the attorney’s criminal actions. “I agree with that judge. He made a good call,” Tribbiani was reported to have said as he left the court room with his wife, Alexis Garrett-Tribbiani. The actor has already paid the settlement and is currently on-set filming the lead in his third film, Captured yet again.

Several cases of fish poisoning have been confirmed in consumers who ate fish harvested in the Northern Sea. Leistung’s consumer safety commission said the fish such as Grouper, Snapper, Amberjack, and Barracuda represent the most significant threat to consumers. They feed on fish that have eaten toxic marine algae. Now the toxin is stable in the tissue of living fish, it does no harm to them in the small amounts they ingest but larger carnivores such as sharks or humans have higher concentrations of the toxin in their tissue and as a result so the largest risk of poisoning comes from eating the largest fish as well. Symptoms of poisoning include vomiting, vertigo, joint pain, and in the most serious cases neurological problems too. Outbreaks of poisonings have been confirmed in Leistung’s largest coastal city, with 28 reported cases in that city alone.

In Neo-Ixania a seventh grader suffered burns to his leg after a Sony Playstation portable device overheated in his pocket during band class. He suffered first and second degree burns to his leg before he was able to remove the overheating handheld gaming device. After removing the device from his pants pocket, he was brought to school officials by the band teacher. Now if you are a parent or a student in school, here your blood will boil. Instead of seeking any medical attention for the boy or allowing him to contact his parents, the principal put the student into supervised in-school suspension for the rest of the day. School officials then suspended the student at the end of the day for having the device as the district has a strict zero-tolerance policy against students having gaming devices, cell phones, and blackberry phones in school during school hours. The student’s parents have issued a statement that they are suing the school for not allowing their child to seek or receive any medical attention and not contacting them immediately when the student reported the burns to school officials. The School District has declined to comment on the situation but said while they are investigating the principal has been put on paid leave.

A major outage hit blackberry users in Ahfera cutting off wireless e-mail for everyone from busy executives to soccer moms. The problem was described as a severe outage affecting all users in the country and raising concerns about the e-mail service’s stability just ten months after a wide spread crash last January led to a three-day outage of the service.

The tiny nation of Alaskan Cascadia has opened its borders and announced wishes of peace and unity with other nations of the world. The announcement was made today by Foreign Minister Duke Vernius Viceroy on behalf of the King. International reception was mixed as the announcement alienated democratic nations by saying, “…it is the King’s enlightened opinion that a million voices all clamoring for individual goals is the root of war and barbarism a nation needs the assurance of one voice and one vision” and that democracy threatens the peace an tranquility of their empire. The office of the Prime Minister of Karshkovia issued a statement saying that at this time, it was not feasible to open negotiations with a nation that demonized the voice of the people.

The Republic of Aresium proudly announced the opening their nation's schools to foreign students in the hopes of fostering the growth of knowledge and understanding between Aresium and the world. Imperial Isa is rattling their saber after a Ryou Black Island declaration that all civilian Ryouese ships are to be armed. Following the Ryouese announcement, Imperial Military Headquarters in Imperial Isa issued an order that all civilian Ryouese ships that are found to be armed are to be considered Merchant raiders by the Imperial Military. Any Ryouese ship detected near any of Isa‘s convoys will be warned away, and if they do not respond the Ryouese ships will be fired upon and sunk. No word yet on a Ryouese reply though international experts agree this could be the start of a new conflict between Imperial Isa and the Ryou Black Islands.

After much legal wrangling, the Free United States Commonwealth Department of Defense released several documents under the Freedom of Information Act requested by the Ufological society Sky-Gazers. The documents reveal an incident 20 years ago, that then-Lt. Commander Steven Vincent Galindo reported intercepting and engaging an unidentified object while serving as an F-14 pilot aboard the carrier, Valkyrie. Very interesting. Now while most of the document has been blacked out, there is enough to discern that, on the night in question, an unidentified object was detected on radar by support vessels and the carrier itself. Two fighters, including the Premier's, were scrambled to intercept. Further reading of the documents review that upon coming into contact with the object, described as, "...amorphous, fluctuating between fuschia to cobalt and colors inbetween..." the pilots were ordered to engage and down the object. That is right, they were ordered to down the UFO. The pilots had been able to gain a radar lock on the object when it suddenly accelerated beyond visual range. Moments later, the Premeir’s wingman spotted the object between and behind its pursuers. The Department of Defense and the Premier have refused to make any statements concerning this incident.

A prominent opposition politician in Snefaldia's government died last week under mysterious circumstances, at one Cheshathan Manakhart. Head of the Imperial Party, he was a radical xenophobe and ardent militarist who favored huge colonial expansions and the conquering of all non-Snefaldian peoples, as well as a fervent believer in the native Snefaldian faith of Aatem Nal. His death by apparent aneurism has left some asking questions as to why a man in general good health and not at an age with significant risk of aneurisms could die so quickly. Unnamed sources in the Bureau of Epidemiology, A sub-office of the Ministry Health, have suggested he was poisoned, but all reports are unconfirmed.

Reports are coming in from Greston that the outbreak of the deadly fever that has killed 200 people in the nation already is slowly growing more serious. More cargo ships are arriving daily to bring medical supplies and support personnel into Greston to control and contain the outbreak. Unconfirmed reports have indicated a number of Leistungi B-22 "Zeus" bombers were seen circling Greston to airdrop supplies. Skeptics have loudly proclaimed that the B-22 is not a cargo plane and this is an attempt to bolster Greston’s military under the guise of helping with the fever outbreak. No statements are being issued by either the Leistung or Greston governments other than to say that they are focusing all their efforts in eliminating the deadly sickness that grips the nation in fear.

Well next up on Into the Unknown, George Succolos discusses the evidence for Ancient Astronauts and by the looks of our telephone circuits all lit up with calls; it looks to be a good interview. Stay tuned!
