An emergency FMA meeting [ATTN FMA members]

South Lizasauria

(the Free Minds Council building)

The large council looked attentively at the high command. An old man who was part of the high command read off a list. "Now the next order of business.... the unjust declaration of war on South Lizasauria." A South Lizasaurian representative stood up.

South Lizasaurian representative: Hours ago the Ryou Black islands disproved of
an FMA officer's conduct. Though he may have been too aggressive, and though said officer violated the Free Minds law ordering FMA officers to negotiate first and shoot later, the response by the Ryou Black government is unacceptable. They declared war on South Lizasauria, my South Lizasauria instead of reporting the officer's blatant aggression to us or declaring war on the whole alliance. On top of that they openly protected religious zealots with blood on their mind. This calls for action! They cannot let out their displeasure of the entirety of the FMA on one member nation, if its the FMA they hold misgivings against they should have declared war against all member nations! I await the response of the council.

Jorgan Von Straiten, the Beatusian representative to the FMA, said, "We fully support our brothers in South Lizasauria, and if they need any assistance what so ever, we will be more than glad to assist them, and it is my personal opinion, that actions such as those taken by the Ryou Black islands, is, and should be considered by the FMA, an attack against this organization, and everyone of it's members. If we do not stand firm together, than a clever enemy will simply dismantle this alliance one member at a time. If we do not rush to the defense of members who are attacked for conducting business associated with the alliance, than what are we all here for?"

"However, I do believe that the fact that South Lizasauria was unilaterally involved in matters, under the banner of the FMA, with out consulting the rest of us, is unacceptable behavior, and some form of action should be taken, but that such action, should be determined at a latter date, after the safety of South Lizasauria, is achieved. While South Lizasauria may have acted without our approval, we do not know to what degree such action was taken, and to let that action to cloud the judgment, and actions of the FMA at this time, would be tantamount to disbanding this organization right here and now."

South Lizasaurian representative: We have already taken the officers involved into custody. They await court marshaling.

Hobels: It pains me greatly that my nations was the one most involved in this conflict. *shakes head*

South Lizasauiran secret service agent: A Lt Commander Williams reported that the skipper on the rogue fleet's command ship was involved in a dark and treacherous conspiracy. According to the information we have many officers are involved. We have yet to find them all.

Representative: Of course *walks over to a projector* This (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14011547&postcount=37) is the rogue admiral sending out his forces and the "records" of the high command giving him the green light we never gave him which suggests either a hacker, a traitor or both. *plays recording* This here is the admiral ordering 5000 FMA infantry to move in on Zanski and the orders for the fleet to prepare to attack the Ryouese, the last bit is a flamboyant transmission blatantly designed to provoke. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14011547&postcount=37)

Secret service agent: This could have been planned so that the Ryouese would attack our nation in order to further the conspirators' cause. *places something in the projector* This (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=566044) here is the Ryouese's cold blooded response, all in the name of justice and freedom of course *laughs humorlessly*

Von Straiten: I am surprised none of us caught this sooner. This General was making statements in the name of the FMA. The FMA repeatedly came up in official statements and diplomatic communiques. If we allow just anyone to use our name, with out reprisal, than our reputation will be ruined, and our effectiveness as an organization, will be greatly diminished. I believe that this General, and anyone connected with this incident, be investigated, by this organization, independent of South Lizasauria, and tried before this body. You said so yourself, you do not know how far this goes, or who is involved. A few weeks could go by, and all of a sudden, someone notices that the general isn't the general, or a prison transport explodes, supposedly with the General inside, while the General is actually sitting in a cozy cabin, ice fishing somewhere in Stoklomolvi.

The entire room shuddered at this thought, many members eyed each other with suspicion.

Representative: The perpetrators have to be cultists, they're the only ones that would want us out of the picture, disprove the FMA and all those succulent brains out there belong to them, they'd be able to run rampant unchecked like before.

Another South Lizasaurian: What about the Ryouese and their racist attack on our civillians and economy! They must be brought to justice!

Von Straiten: I agree that something must be done, but we would require more information on the situation with the Ryouese attacks, and then a proper discussion, and debate over the issue, before deciding. We must remember, our ability to debate and discuss, instead of rashly rushing into things without though, is the only thing that separates us from the Ryouese.

Hobels: That won't be easy, I know my people, after learning of the cowardly and vile attacks by the Ryouese and their mercenary army, my people will be screaming for their blood. The nation will have no choice but to act.

Von Straiten: Acting out of anger, leads to rash actions, that your nation will most likely regret. Is it not the job of, a good, government to act in the best interests of the people, even when the people don't see that it is so. As the adage goes, a person is smart, people are panicky, nervous, and ignorant. A mob mentality is the last thing we need right now. Time and time again, over the course of history, we have seen how the mob mentality has lead otherwise prosperous nations, down a path of pain, ruin, and eventual collapse.

A lizasaur within the crowd of delagates flinched as he remembered his secret SL days during the first Grecian war, little did they know that among the conspirators were former SL Alliance soldiers and SL Alliance sympathizers.

Marine:[to the flinching lizasaur] Sir! Are you alright!

Lizasaur: Yes I'm fine, just a little dust in my eye. *pretends to wipe it out* *mutters to himself* Dammit! When will Black have his deal made! The SL Alliance will be very cross if they have to postpone phase four.....again....

OOC: I'm assuming Admiral Black is a conspirator

Creus: Sorry I'm late.. you won't believe what convulsions are happening in my country.. why, i'm lucky to be here and- erm, Did I miss anything important?

OOC: lol.. didn't check my telegrams for a week..

IC:

Due to the rend in the space time continuum the Ryou conflict never happened but for some strange reason the meeting still took place.

Hobels: We've discovered many traitors in our midst. A rogue admiral attempted to attack Ryou Black to instigate a massive conflict. We have him currently detained. Unfortunately our alliance has many such officers, we just don't know which ones.

Secret Service agent: It seems that it is being ran by a coalition of secret sects that want us out of the picture for obvious reasons, we also have reason to beleive that the SL alliance, South Lizasauria's old communist government in exile may be involved. One of their objectives after all is their reinstatement after they overthrow the meritocracy.

[He places slides into a projector, and the following information appears on the wall: Info (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=14025499#post14025499)]

So what do the rest of you think about it?
South Lizasauria
21-09-2008, 01:28
South Lizasaurian General: Sir! I propose that with Chernobyl government's permission we send in a peace keeping force to put an end to this war. In fact I'll have Colonel White be part of the operation. He is a very adept officer, he takes after his legendary relative Sky Marshall White who died heroically for the South Lizasaurian fleet. He also has an outstanding service record.

Von Straiten: Yes, we have allready chosen to put in place military forces, to conduct refugee, and medical operations, though, should this organization chose to act, the troops on the ground now are ready to assist. [Aide rushes in with a faxed document, Von Straiten gasps] I... I spoke too soon, our forces in Chernobl have been attacked, and it wasn't the locals, it was a coordinated, and planned, attack, utilizing large caliber artillery, and white phosphorous rounds. Our camp has been hit pretty hard, and we don't yet know the full extent of the damage, and may not be able to offer anything to a FMA operation, although, we do wish to request help, as we have many wounded on the ground, and not enough doctors to treat them. We also have no way of getting them out of what has now been labeled a hostile environment, at this time. We are not even sure of the base security.

Creus: Very well, My country will not forsake our allies in their time of need. I will forward this to my government with my strong recommendations that we dispatch troops immediately. However, in light of our political difficulties it might take time. Then again, I can always twist a few arms to get what we need...

Von Straiten: I thank you for that. There have been more attacks using WP since, and in response, we have deployed more troops and equipment to the region. We would also like to offer our base as a command post for FMA operations. I would also like to state my own personal feelings on this matter, attacks such as this, on a hospital and refugee camp, are the worst kind of attacks, from the worst kind of people. We do not know as of yet who is behind these attacks, but we intend to find out. We do however believe that they are working with the religious extremists, because during the second attack, Chernobl forces were within the compound, assisting in moving the injured inside, and treating their burns.

Creus: I just got off the phone with my government. It took some time but it seems our fragile leadership needs a successful military adventure to endear itself to the people and politicians are more than willing to risk anything to do that. They have agreed to dispatch our 2nd Scout Ranger Division and medical personnel to augment the refugee camp near Niksic via the airport at Belgrade.

Hobels: Should we have all FMA member nations with peacekeeper forces in Chernobyl amalgamate the forces into one FMA force or should each nation act individually?

OOC: Sorry for my lateness, I've been busy lately.

Creus: That would be most expedient. Perhaps we can even have a permanent peacekeeping force maintained.

OOC:The thread is pretty much done for now, sooooo, yeah. But I'm workin on the WW3 thread.

Jefferson Westmoreland had just arrived at the FMA complex. He was the replacement for Jorgan Von Straten, who had apparently suffered a mental breakdown, and was now recuperating in a hospital in the Beatus. He was officially pardoned by the President, as he was firmly out of the country, during, and in the lead up to the civil war, and was therefore not guilty of the crimes of which the other adults had been convicted. It was his first day on the job, and he was unsure what was happening. He reported to the meeting room. He did not immediately notice many others there.

Many members were there in formal attire, FMA soldiers in full white and orange uniforms stood guard. A few were wearing urban cammo, others were ranking officers talking with the members. The South Lizasaurians in the group of members seemed grim, frightened and even angry.

General Kaashmire: Ahh you must be Straiten's replacement. I am General Kaashmire of the South Lizasaurian join FMA expedition. I look forward to working with you. Your name is Jefferson Westmoreland is it not?

Unlike the others the general seemed social, happy, energetic and excited.

South Lizasaurian: What are you smiling about General?

General: Sir! I look forward to delivering our lost brothers and bringing them the freedom and the commodities that come with modern living sir! I look forward to saving our people!

South Lizasaurian federal council member:*steps up to the podium* Greetings, my name is irrelevant, however my message is not. Recently we discovered pockets of life, South Lizasaurian life, in areas we thought life ceased to exist due to alien invasions, atomic holocausts and civil war. These pockets of survival are made up of South Lizasaurian people that belong in our union and deserve our protection and benefits. However multiple sects and brigands have begun exploiting them in our absence. As a member nation we demand that these cultists are driven out of the lands we wish to reclaim and that the survivors are properly deprogrammed. I trust the FMA is the organization for the job...that is all.
