Very nice. Odd design though, brings back memories of the Merkava.

OOC: Nice pic Osea! Did you draw it yourself?

[OOC: That is a very large calibre for a tank gun. Most go with 120-125mm, since the difference by a few millimetres does not amount to too much extra damage. The turret looks...unstable, since it looks like a shot from behind would crack it in half. It appears to be static, since there's a support in the front of the tank. Excellent drawing, though.

Hm, looks rather similar to my WIP tank.]

It has a 155mm as it is meant to serve as a heavy tank along with a lighter mass produced tank.

OOC:Actually it looks like a Merkava and a T-90 had a baby.

OOC: I have a question. Which Soviet/Russian Tank Design would be best for the role of mass produced Main Battle tank.

[OOC: T-72. It's simple, but it's not as strong as most other tanks, since it's rather ancient by the standards of "the now."]

At this point, the T-90.

You would be able to modernize the T-72 to the point where it can compete against Western modernized Cold War tanks (Leopard 2, M1 Abrams, etc).

If you're interested, I offer an advanced 125mm gun (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?showtopic=2429) - it require you to modify the missiles and ammunition to be able to be fired from this gun, but it's not a difficult process (you would just need to reissue ammunition). It's becoming fairly popular amongst 125mm gun armed tanks. The 120mm version is used to arm the Nakíl 1A3 and the Lariat 1A1 Long Arm.

I wouldn't recommend it for a standard Main Battle Tank because of the cons of heavy calibers unless your landscape is mostly made of plains and deserts like Sumer's, but should you ever become interested in designing an Assault or Heavy Tank, or in designing a self-propelled artillery, this 135mm dual-purpose gun (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?showtopic=3632&view=findpost&p=3150106) is something I would recommend. It could be converted into a 140mm gun as well, for it was originally built as a 140mm gun.

It's available in my army storefront.

Sorry for the ad-post, but basically the choice of firepower also will depend on geographic conditions of your NationStates. And one more thing: like Guderian said, the engine of a tank is as much of an weapon as its gun. As for the procurement of engines, I would recommend Sumer designs.

I accept your offer and will switch the main gun to the CB.125 125mm L/55 Tank Gun.

OOC: The only engine I have on the market is here.

And it's not very mass production worthy, if you have some specific needs in mind though, and I have some time, I could throw one together for you in a week or less.

OOC: The engine will have to be capable of handling all weather conditions and not be diffucult to maintain or repair. It will also neeed to have roughly 1500 hp. The engine must not be heavy enough to hamper the tanks performance.
