Shannon Jones was the Prime Minister of Arandea. Popularity with her and the Arandean Labour Party had been declining.

She had been leading her small island nation since coming to power in the 2005 election

She was currently in a meeting with the Arandean president (who really is just a figure head)

"Can I count on your support President Larken?" she asked

"Ofcourse. I dont see anything wrong with the country but should you lose the election I want to count on your party to re-elect me as president after the election" he said, He was a well built man with a square face in his late 60's While Shannon Jones was just 48

The labour Party president was also there

"We are seriously going to have to work hard to win this election" said Alex Boreman, Party President who was a 60 yearold socialist

"The Biggest threat comes from the Arandean Right Party and Daniel Bars" said President Larken

"Well the announcement has to come. Campaigning will begin" said Shannon

Shannon was now in a film studio in Hellington the capital city.

People were applying makeup to her face and within minutes the camera's were Rolling

"Every 3 years the people of our good nation go to the polls to express ourselves. Every three years the people elect thier government. In September 25th 2005 I was elected to lead Arandea. Ofcourse the leaflets were made from 100% recycled paper

Cameron Stymes the socialist leader of the Arandean Peoples Party was currently meeting with some workers in a factory

"I think us, the working people of Arandea have what it takes to take these guys out at the election and then we can work for the people. The problem with the current party in power is that they really dont care for the people anymore instead only worry about staying in power. Change is healthy which is why you should elect a party that will properly represent the people" said Cameron the workers all applauded and after Cameron took questions from them and had a political debate with them

Meanwhile the Arandean patriotic party (The Most fanatical party and has been labled "Fascist" was going through its own campaign sticking up sign boards and billboards in its local neighborhood and on highways

The Billboards all had "We need a right change" with the face of Party leader Liam Shaw

Within the coming weeks each party woulda announce thier stand and thier policy towards issues

Officially three years is one term of government and so one elected governemnt cant serve one day over 3 years which is why on the 25th September 2008 the Speaker of the Parliament will officially close/dissolve parliament until after the elections when a new government is formed.

In the background Shannon Jones'Labour Party will still be running the country but they cant make any sudden or big changes or introduce new laws.

There are only 7 days left until Parliament is closed.

.....................................................................................

Shannon was sitting next to her Party Deputy, David Cullen in the Parliament.

David stood to his feet.

"Arandean's have everything to lose in this election if it votes in the Right Party. Under them they want to privatise the economy 100%, this will cause inflation and unemployment. We are a healthy alternative.." David was cut in by Daniel Bar's the main opposition

"Well as a democracy the people will express what they really think of you in the elections and so far its not looking to good your even coming behind the Socialist Unity party...."

"Dont Assume too much. In politics things can change just in a heartbeat!" argued back Shannon

The debate had been going on like this for the last 2 weeks.

.................................................................................................

The TV crews were preparing the studio for an upcoming debate and questioning with all the candidates in the election

The Daily updates of the Popularity poll was still underway and would continue right up to the October 5th Election \/

Activists from all parties were also doing thier bit to campaign, handing out leaflets and sticking flyers in mailboxes. Billboards with the faces of each of the candidates were also going up all over the country
