ooc gunners are the ones who work the gun in a tank
Lynion
13-09-2008, 13:46
OOC: its 3 or four crew members for the tank. Usually its a driver, gunner and navagitor for a battle tank.
Roef
13-09-2008, 14:01
OOC: I know, but this is a difrent one. A special design, and imperial isa:
The cannon and a gunner re something else. A cannon-man, and a gunner.
Imperial isa
13-09-2008, 14:08
ooc a gunner works what every gun a tank carrys from a 20mm to 120mm, you dont need someone just for a cannon as it a waste of space in a tank
Lynion
13-09-2008, 14:11
OOC: Imperial isa has a point Roef. And the correction is a 4 man crew not a 3 man crew.
Imperial isa
13-09-2008, 14:14
ooc Lynion it be six man crew as there two cannons
Lynion
13-09-2008, 14:19
OOC: I know, but I'm just saying, he says its a 3 man crew when he has four positions. I'm only saying: shouldn't it be four man crew instead of 3 man crew because of the positions?
Ursava

Well, it could be the gunner on one cannon with the second being an auto-loader I guess.

If not his crew would be like this:

2x Gunners.
1x Driver.
1x Commander.
and then, maybe one navigator.
Dutch-Ruled Benelux
13-09-2008, 15:19
Actually, usually the crew is 4:

Loader
Gunner
Driver
Commander.

If the tank has an autoloader the crew is three:

Gunner
Driver
Commander

What is the point of a second gun if the first is on a turret like most tanks?

OOC: You know what this vehicle looks very similar, almost identical too? My T-11 Light Tank. (http://z10.invisionfree.com/Universal_Defense/index.php?showtopic=3)
It looks as though you just copied my stats, pasted them, then edited them slightly to your needs. In case you didn't know, it is considered incredibly bad NS ettiqutte, as well as the fact that it pisses off the original maker.... like myself!
Roef
13-09-2008, 16:12
OOC: It looks like it yes, but every tank got a weapon, gun, crew and some other weapons, a fuel tank and an engine. Dont want to be rude...
Lynion
13-09-2008, 16:14
OOC: Roef, I doubt nations will buy this off you anyway. Sure you got the stats but what about in action?
Falkasia
13-09-2008, 16:17
OOC: Yes, I understand that. However, it seems awfully similar to my design. Very few nations include gas-tank size with their designs, and this characteristic has become a recognized trademark of my constructs. Also, take a look at the armor on the T-11. Does the breakdown look familiar, maybe missing about a 1/2 inch of plating?

Perhaps we should see how good this tanks operates in war.........
Lynion
13-09-2008, 16:21
OOC: I think everyone would be interested in how this tank works Roef.
Ursava
13-09-2008, 16:25
Yeah, I vote an invasion of Roef to see how the tank operates.
Falkasia
13-09-2008, 16:26
OOC: Seconded here. I've always wanted to see my pirated designs burn at the end of a tank barrel.
Ursava
13-09-2008, 16:30
Falkasia, remind me not to piss you off.
Roef
13-09-2008, 16:31
OOC: How it works? I didnt use it much! I just took a training, than headed to sell them!
Falkasia
13-09-2008, 16:32
Falkasia, remind me not to piss you off.

OOC: lol.
Who wants to start the invasion?
Ursava
13-09-2008, 16:33
Without even going to the draftroom to see what people thought.

Also, Roef, you've just made Falkasia suspicious that you partially copied his design so when your country is burning, remember how many times you were told to submit stuff to the draftroom and get some tips for improvement first.
Roef
13-09-2008, 16:33
Yes without going to the draftroom. But i coud try, send me a link.
Lynion
13-09-2008, 16:34
OOC: Invasion eh? Can I make a suggestion? how about we go to some random island and we test out his tank? That way we can all be happy and Roef can be happy. In the mean time, I've got a brand new tank waiting to be tested, I've got permission from Northam-York to test it, yeah anyhow whose game enough to do it?
Roef
13-09-2008, 16:34
OOC: I think this a better idea...
Ursava
13-09-2008, 16:36
Invasion, it's the sex of the Nationstates world.

Can be good or bad and somebody is going to enjoy it either way.
Roef
13-09-2008, 16:37
Yes i suppose so... But i more like this idea of lynion.

OOC:
http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php The Draftroom.
I do not usually support the draftroom. But since a number of people here who are giving you advice on how to improve your tank don't seem to know anything about tanks, you would be better off going there to work it out.

By the way... invading a nation for a reason like that is what we call "bad form".
Ursava
13-09-2008, 16:38
I was joking Phoenix. Also, the tank is pretty crappy and I know alot about tanks...well, more than most people off the streets.

By the way Falkasia, do you have a storefront I could get a link to?
Roef
13-09-2008, 16:40
You want me invaded? Good, i dont care, because i dont lissen to what you think.
The Phoenix Milita
13-09-2008, 16:40
Please read the guide to international incidents Ursava. Roef would be fully justified in ignoring any such invasion from you.
Falkasia
13-09-2008, 16:41
OOC: I say just bomb the hell out of his factories.

Oh, absolutely. Here's the link for my storefront.
http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=562853

Enjoy!
Roef
13-09-2008, 16:42
Yay! I registerd on the draftroom, i have to wait.
Ursava
13-09-2008, 16:42
Thank you Falkasia.

Also, Phoenix, I just said I was joking. I'd at least have to have a good reason before I even considered mobilization of naval forces near his country.
Falkasia
13-09-2008, 16:44
OOC: Yes, me as well (mostly), although I think stealing a design could be considered Industrial Espionage, and therefore a valid reason to go to war.

And you are very welcome Ursava!
Jeuna
13-09-2008, 16:45
Unfixable. Don't bother with NSD.

Read books, start over.
Roef
13-09-2008, 16:45
Yes, for stealing a design, but not for using a thing you use to.
Ursava
13-09-2008, 16:50
International Espionage is a serious crime Roef.

Also Falkasia, I posted in your storefront for a possible deal.
Falkasia
13-09-2008, 16:51
OOC: Ok Ursava. I'll go check it now.
Roef
13-09-2008, 16:51
Yes! I know, but using a thing he uses to is something else!
Ursava
13-09-2008, 16:54
You performed possible Inernational Espionage. It doesn't matter if you copied it exactely, you copied a good portion of it to the point of strong suspicion.

Now we (or at least Falkasia) has a reason to attack you if he sees fit.
Roef

How many thing i took from HIM? NON! He sended the disign to CA, and he sended it to me! He is my borther, so he did that.

Falkasia is your brother? Yeah right.

You see? When he gets home from his friends today, i will ask him to send a last massage to prove i am right.
Roef
13-09-2008, 16:58

No! CA is my brother! Canedian army! Falkasia sended the design to him, and he gave me premison to use it.
Ursava
13-09-2008, 16:58
Even though he was talking with us in this thread just a few minutes ago he's with his friends?
The Phoenix Milita
13-09-2008, 16:58
He said CA was his brother, not Falkasia.. dear god.
Salzland
13-09-2008, 16:59
He is right about Canedian Army having the design, because I was about ready to wipe CA off the face of the Earth for that one. However, giving CA permission to use a design so that he has some idea of how to build a tank that doesn't suck, does not mean that Roef also has permission to use the same design. No matter what sort of OOC relations CA and Roef have.
Roef
13-09-2008, 17:01
He gave me IC premision to use it.
Ursava
13-09-2008, 17:03
Yeah, he posted that post above mine at the same time I guess so I didn't see it on the last page.

Also, Salzland is right. It doesn't matter if you someday get a girlfriend and she joins. She can't copy a design without you guys saying it IC. Also, if he did why not give us a link to the thread.

Also, we weren't talking about Canedian Army, we were talking about Falkasia's design Roef.
Roef
13-09-2008, 17:05
Falkasis gave CA the design. And i will look if i can find the threath.
The Phoenix Milita
13-09-2008, 17:08
Lets be clear, Roef is making a lot of n00b mistakes, but none of you are helping the situation, but instead compounding it and encouraging n00b behavior. Try to lead by example.
Also, China makes exact copies of US and Soviet weapons without a license and the world doesn't blink. Roef tries to make an original tank based on someone else's template and you all want to invade him.? The first thing you should try to do is explain politely OOC why that is not nice to copy someone's design. As for IC actions, how bout trying sanctions, an embargo or diplomatic pressure. An invasion? Really? That's how your nation conducts itself in the world?

Roef, you really should consider re designing your tank from scratch. This will allay a lot of concern and backlash you are going to get. You are not going to win the "my brother gave me someone else's design ICly" argument.
Ursava
13-09-2008, 17:09
That's all been tried on Roef. You try and talk to him about this stuff instead of chewing us out for not doing it?

Also, for the last time we were joking about the invasion.
Falkasia
13-09-2008, 17:33
OOC: Ok, I'd like it to be clear. I did give the design to Canedian Army to use for retail and as a basis for his own tank. I DID NOT give him permission to give it to other people.

As for Industrial Espionage, I'll contact Ursava privately.
Roef
13-09-2008, 17:58
Falkasia:
I am sorry, for that. CA gave a design, and i thought he made it or something. He told me he got it from you a while later, but i didnt knew you woud mind it.
Falkasia
13-09-2008, 18:03
OOC: Yes, well... that is eprfectly understandable. Nevertheless, I would like you to end ALL production of this vehicle, and any vehicles similar in anyway to the T-11 design or the Canedian Army design without the expressed consent by it's maker (me).

However, I'd be willing to help you design your own tank.
Roef
13-09-2008, 19:07
Ocourse, all production is shut down. But, what with the tanks already builded? You want them, or shall i destroy them or something? Or shall i lock them up underground ,and only use them at an attack or war?
Falkasia
13-09-2008, 19:09
OOC: That, I will leave up to you. As a word of advice, if anybody gives you a design someone else gave them, ask the original maker first before you alter and sell it.

Hey, if you're interested to get criticism elsewhere than your thread (turns potential buyers away), you might be interested in joining the NS Draftroom (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom), which is dedicated to NS design.

EDIT: Nvm, I just saw that you had previously registered.

So the tank is smaller then a T-72, but it has almost twice the crew members and is also excessively heavy [by RL standards]. Because of the caliber of the gun, and the amount of rounds it carries is it safe to assume they are externally stored? At first I thought it was a tank chaser type thing, but it had two cannons. Where's the engine go?
Roef
14-09-2008, 10:54
What a stupid question :p
Chernobyl-Pripyat
14-09-2008, 10:59
I'm serious, the size of this thing is in the same class as a tankette, yet can carry two large caliber guns, five crew members, 70 odd rounds of ammunition, a turbine engine and a large amount of fuel, while being roughly the size of a utility van..
Roef
14-09-2008, 11:01
I made on at NS draft, now i will wait a while...

TO: The nameless King of Roef, Roef
FROM: VATO, Prime General Rust

We have seen your purposal and I must suggest that it sounds faimiliar and the armour of the tank looks too weak as it can be ripped apart by anything more powerful that a 30 cal. weapon. Either you increase the armour to something better. Also, I've noticed its familiar to a tank I looked over in another storefront.
Roef
14-09-2008, 11:41
I will make a new design, in hope that you more like this...
