Military Service: Five years in the Zinairian Army, eventually served in the special forces.
Speciality: Precision captures– no unnecessary casualties.
Brief Bio: After high school, Jake joined the army, eventually becoming a special operator (although he sometimes regretted not joining the navy and becoming a SEAL instead). When he was due to be promoted to a commissioned officer, Jake's lack of college education stood in the way. After a short stint in the ZNPD, he became an independent bounty hunter at age 28.
Console do Anjo
07-09-2008, 21:27
Name: Mariana
Age: 19
Nationality: Anjo (Native of Console do Anjo)
physical description: Slightly above the average height for females 19, tan skin, brown hair
military service: (Optional) Special Ops
Speciality: Covert and Stealth Ops
breif bio: One would hardly belive a girl as young as 19 would be in a strong military sect, but she is. Having previously served under the Monarch she joined the Revolutionary Force against the Monarchy and ultimatley helped the Dictator into establishing what is now the Dictatroship. She lived on a farm most of her life, but joined the forces at 14. Mariana was tired of the opression of the majority by the minority Nafrecians (former country name) and hopped by joining the service it would change. It didn't, and she chose to align her self to create a country back with it's ethnic roots.
Name:Tod Diamond
Age: 24
Nationality: Mt. Idian
Physical Description: Medium Height (5'10"), strong torso and legs, tanned, gray-blue eyes, short black hair
military service: Mt. Id's Ghost Platoon (Stealth strike force)
Speciality: Explosives
breif bio: Tod Diamond was the best Combat Engineer the Ghost Platoon had known. He could create something that would explode from simple tree sap and wood (albeit a small explosion) and could disarm almost any bomb in under a minute. However, one day he screwed up and ended up getting innocents killed. He was forced out of the Platoon because his mistake was reportedly "intentional". And it might be true. One of the innocents killed was a known gangster who had ruled the streets he had grown up on and killed many of his boy hood friends. So he left and took his ablities into the private sector, always willing to take on the tough ones...almost like he's trying to get himself killed to make up for his past.

OOC: Sorry to nitpick, but a lot of spec ops forces don't even accept women, much less 14 year-olds.
OOC: Keep in mind, he's his own country. Thus his Special Forces could accept eight-year olds if he wanted. Hell, I have genetically engineered soldiers and kids taken and trained at birth to kill so...

OOC: True, but there's any number of good reasons not to accept a teenage girl with no military training into the special forces.

Val stepped of the plane and into Ameriganistan. He was armed only with the Hk USP that he carried everywhere. He was to meet his contact at an abandoned apartment building somewhere in the city. His phone rang he picked it up. His contact told him to meet him at a restruant in the richer side of town to recieve his equipment. He called a cab and headed towards the restruant.
Chernobl
08-09-2008, 00:41
The cab pulled up in front of a nice Italian restruant. His contact stood outside wearing a dark trenchcoat, leaning on the hood of a car smoking a fag. Val steped out of the car and aproached the man. "You better have my shit." Val whispered the man popped the trunk revealing a black suitcase. Val took the suitcase and walked away.
Jake stood at the luggage carousel, waiting for his baggage to come around. The two locked cases appeared first, and he pulled them off the carousel. Soon afterwords, his larger, soft-sided suitcase came around the corner on the moving beltway.
With all his luggage in hand, Jake went to retrieve his rental car. He'd made sure that it was a Zinairian export– a ZMW Royale. After checking in at the rental kiosk, he crossed the dark lot to the polished black SUV. He tossed his suitcase into the backseat and put the two firearm cases as well as his carry-on laptop case on the front seat next to him.
His hotel was a substantial distance from the airport, but driving the powerful luxury SUV was a pleasure. Upon reaching the hotel– a ritzy place on the nicer side of four stars– Jake got out and allowed a porter to carry his suitcase and laptop while he kept the locked cases on a tight leash.
Between the pricey car and glamorous hotel, it was clear that Jake had a taste for the finer things– a taste that only the largest bounties could support. And with his shaved head and tailored suit, Jake looked more like a hitman than a bounty hunter that was often on the right side of the law.
Tod thanked the driver of the cab as he stepped out and asked him to wait for a few minutes. He had arrived by commercial plane earlier that day and had rented a room at a local hotel. As soon as he had set that up, he went in search of his supplies. A man who nobody knew how he did what he did, but he always did it and an old aquantince of Tod's had promised him his equipment would be in a local warehouse labeled 'China Plates'. He found the address and walked inside and sure enough, there was his crate. It contained his persoanl MI-78 Sniper rifle (broken down for easy transport) and his favorite of all, his explosives kit. It had enough munitions inside it to level half a city. It was also in a wheeled case for easier transport and inside that case were belts of different explosive compounds that Tod could carry on his person to make his own bomb or just use a pre-made one.
Once he had gotten his material, he left and re-entered the cab. His weapons looked like nothing more than some luggage that had been stored. He gave the address for his hotel and the driver took him back where he climbed out, paid the driver, and went up to his room to unpack and ready his materials for the upcoming hunt.

Val walked into an alley across the street from the restruant and opened the case. It contained a VSS Vintorez sniper with fiberglass furniture, a hotel key and number and the key for a Kawasaki Ninja, Vals choice transport. He walked over to the Ninja which was hidden behind a dumpster. He disassembled the VSS and put the other contents in his pockets. He hoped on the bike and sped of towards the hotel.

"greetings.i see most of you have arrived safely.now then the payment.whichever hunter brings this man in,or at least brings his corpse in,shall receive a payment of 2 million of their native currency if they bring him in dead, and 5 million if they bring him in alive.now due to the fact that He's a moron,Lord Lowery is preparing a public appearence,at 8:00 tonight,to try and tempt the man into acting.make sure your there,or at least near there when he starts speaking.that is all for now.you shall receive another message after Lowery's little publicity stunt"
Tod recieved the message with a grin. Time to go to work. We went out to where Lowery was supposed to be appearing and placed a few tricks of his own under neath the platform and around it. He then set up in an abandonded building nearby with his sniper and began scanning the area for possible hiding holes for any enemy. He would also do a sweep for explosives right before Lowery would be climbing onto the platform to give his announcement.
After watching the mysterious DVD that had been left in his room, Jake was delighted. It looked like he could be sitting on $10 million USD, considering the strength of the Zinairian Numer.
He opened the two cases and pulled out a HK MP7 and its accompanying UCP. He placed the UCP in a shoulder holster and put the larger MP7 into his suit jacket.
He packed all his things, except for the most mundane, such as his clothes, and went back to his car, placing the gun cases and his laptop in the back seat. Then he drove to the location of the speech to scope it out.
(OOC: Oh, do we know the others are here? Otherwise, we may take shots at each other assuming that they're the enemy. lol)
(OOC: Oh, do we know the others are here? Otherwise, we may take shots at each other assuming that they're the enemy. lol)
OOC: Or because they're standing between us and the money....
IC: Jake parked in an underground lot near the site and walked to the platform where the speech would be held.
Although, not being in the personal protection business, he wouldn't normally bother searching for explosives or the like, Jake did a quick sweep under the stage because if he removed the killer's plan A, it could force him into the open to execute plan B.
His search revealed some nasty looking explosives. Not wanting to accidentally blow himself up, he strolled to a nearby pay phone and made an anonymous tip to the police before taking shelter in a nearby abandoned building to watch the bomb squad do their thing.
(uh...zinaire they're not explosives. lol. They're just smoke bombs. And I wouldn't leave them out in the open so that they would be obvious. They look like mearly vases for plants and the like. When the cops show up they won't find anything)
Tod saw someone checking under the stage and scoped in on their image. When he went over to a pay phone to place a call, he took out a camara, zoomed in, and took a picture. Who knew who this guy was?
(uh...zinaire they're not explosives. lol. They're just smoke bombs. And I wouldn't leave them out in the open so that they would be obvious. They look like mearly vases for plants and the like. When the cops show up they won't find anything)
OOC: That's where description comes in handy. I suppose we need more info about the venue too. I imagined an outdoor stage where a couple flower vases would look pretty fishy.
Anyway, for the time being, let's just say he called the cops with a bluff, hoping the uniformed presence would scare a would-be assassin into the open.
IC: As Jake sat in the building, peering out the window and waiting for the police, he realized he was in a sniper's dream. It was a tall, abandoned building in an otherwise built-up area. Chances were, any sniper would fire from here.
Drawing his pistol in case the killer's mother had instilled him with the value of promptness, Jake began searching the building floor by floor, looking for a likely sniper's hideout.
(OOC: Good point. And actually, in an outdoor scene, pots would look ok. Everybody likes plants. lol. And I'm assuming you're coming into my building)
Tod heard someone coming up the stairs behind him and quickly but silently rolled into the shadows of the room with a clear view of the flight of stairs leading up to his floor. If anyone walked up those stairs and onto his floor, he could drop them where they stood.
Jake heard something. Nothing ominous or even very loud, but there was a very soft thunk then a swish. Anywhere but the absolute silence of the abandoned building it would have gone unnoticed. Jake abruptly stopped ascending and crouched. He replaced the UCP and pulled out the MP7 instead. He didn't dare fire a warning shot because if there were any police on the street below, it would bring them into the building. Instead he resorted to one of his favorite tricks– impersonating a police officer. He just hoped the noise-maker didn't know more about the enforcement agencies of Ameriganastan than he did.
"Ameriganastanian National Police! Who's there?!"
Tod grinned. LikeI'd fall for that trick. Why would he speak up when the other obviously didn't even know he was really there. But just to mess with him, he took a pice of rubbish and slid it across the floor and into an adjacent room, making a noise like someone crawling along the ground.
The only sound was the sliding. Jake didn't move and waited several more seconds. He decided he'd have to do some more bluffing and crossed his fingers, hoping the police had arrived and that whoever was up there was really the sniper.
"I repeat, this is the police! We received a tip saying that there was a sniper in this building and it has been surrounded. Just look out the window and you'll see. Come out with your hands up!"
Aurum Domus

Wolf sat waiting in an observation hide in an adjacent building. He had arrived the previous day and gotten his supplies together. Now he had to play the ever borign waiting game. He peered through the scope of his silenced sniper rifle, a customised DRS 84 sniper rifle stolen from an Aurum Doman armoury by Silens Nex years previously. He also had his SinRay Tactical .40 DDI Compact Pistol, a Leafanistani produced pistol based on the HK USP Compact and chambered in .40 DDI.
Vallis Hermann had recieved the message two hours after making it in-country. Now he was currently in an old apartment room, what little he needed around him and the very end of his barrel on the window-sill. He watched as the bomb-squad went about checking for, well, bombs. He watched through his scope and didn't even breath too deeply while he monitored the entirety of the stage. He had been trained for counter-sniping so if that was the would-be assassin's main plan of attack he'd be "dead in the water" as they said; the Barret .50 caliber sniper rifle would make sure of that.
Chernobl
08-09-2008, 02:45
Val climbed the stairs to the top of the building over looking the speech. He assembled his VSS and scoped in on the crowd.
Vallis noted over the top of his scope, some form of movement on the roof of a nearby building. He moved ever-so-slowly, trying his hardest not to make anything to sudden or obvious. He slowly brought his Barret to bear on what proved to be a man holding a rifle watching the stage. He zoomed in to the maximum level and saw the creases along the man's forehead. He took aim and waited, wanting to see what the man would do. He wouldn't shoot to shoot, he wanted prove that the man was the assassin. If he started aiming at the president then it would be obvious.
OOC: Uh, guys, I think we have some timeline issues here. As far as I'm concerned, we're still a couple hours ahead of when the speech will commence so there's no crowd and the "president" isn't here yet.
Chernobl
08-09-2008, 02:54
OOC:?! well you might be the only one.
OOC:?! well you might be the only one.
OOC: Mt. Id was RPing under the same assumption. Since we "got here" first, it makes sense that the timeline we established prevails.
OOC: I don't think there's a crowd so I was just typing as if Chernobl was simply watching the stage.

OOC:Ursava im inside a room with my rifle mounted on a table. not a roof.

OOC: That's not how I read it.

OOC:The top floor being what i meant.
Tod looked out the nearest window. Surrounded, eh? There were only a few cops around and they weren't paying any attention to the building. The guy was definatly bluffing. Time for some fun. He took a dummy grenade out of his vest and tossed it down the stairs. The only difference between this grenade and a normal one was that this one didn't explode unless Tod set off the remote. There was no way to tell this without opening the grenade up in a lab however. It was one of his own personal inventions.
Chernobl
08-09-2008, 03:02
Val reached into his pocket and pulled out a camera. He stuck it to the window sill and then left the room. He jogged down the stairs and out to the streets. He then hopped a fence and craweled to the stage sticking a second tiny camera to the floor. He now had two viewpoints.
In the eerie quiet, Jake heard the almost inaudible sound of pin being removed from a grenade. He didn't realize what the sound was until the grenade came bounding down the stairs toward him. Without anything else to do, he grabbed it and threw it back up the stairs. He hoped it would go through a window and plummet to the street, getting the bomb squads attention. Relived that it hadn't blown up in his hand (not that it would have), Jake reviewed his options. The bluff didn't seem to be working, but if he persisted, it may work.
"I don't know what you're playing at, but you just threw twenty years of life on the outside away with that grenade. This is your last chance, come out with your hands up!"
OOC: Chernobl, you also never stated you had mounted your rifle on a table.
Vallis watched as the man left his perch and he let him be. The man had left for now so there was nothing he could do at the moment. He aimed at the same building and started scanning the windows for any sign of a sniper. Then he started scanning a second building while he played "the waiting game" and patientally waited for the assassin to reveal himself.
Tod grinned. This guy was fun. He picked the grenade back up and yet again tossed it down the stairwell. however, this time as the grenade went bouncing down the stairs he lept over the railing and jumped down the flight of stairs directly behind the grenade and pointed his rifle at the now obvious target. "Police, eh? Then how come you lied about your friends out there? And for that matter, where's the uniform?"
Chernobl
08-09-2008, 03:15
Val then went back into the building where he had planted he first camera and set up on a desk two floors below his original perch. He reached into his backpack and pulled out an automated tripod. He set it upand mounted his VSS. He then left ditching the pack and vest and posing as a member of the press.

OOC: Because god knows that's so easy without an I.D, microphone, camera crew, or even a simple notepad at best.
Jake was caught off guard, but this was good. His opponent had a sniper rifle and he had a short PDW. In a QCC situation, he had the obvious upper hand.
"Uniform?!" Jake scoffed. "I'm a goddamn national agent, not some street cop walking the beat. Drop the gun and I'll show you my badge. As for my "friends", they're not goofing off again, are they? I hate working with city cops!"
Luckily, after his short time in the ZNPD, Jake had picked up the elitist national agent attitude nicely.

*Lord Lowery sat inside a bulletproof limo,on his way to the stage*"so your sure this guy is gonna get caught right? because the whole cloning thing isn't really taking off,and i can't trust any of the morons who work for me to take over.really? o.k. bye." *he hung up his cell phone and sighed* "o.k.,lets get this over with" *he stepped outside and climbed onto a stage.it was a simple square stage, with a few bodyguards on each side, and a podium in the center.the crowd fell silent as he stepped up to the mic, sweating like a pig* "h-hello my fine citizens.by now,you have heard of the killer, plauging our fair nation.well rest assured,i do not fear this beast and n-n-neither should you.i will see him hunted down and.." *at that moment,a bullet ripped through his shoulder, sending him to the ground behind the podium.before his security detail could move into the crowd, the people panicked, and started scattering in all directions,a certain man, however was moving towards the stage,he stood about 6 foot 3,and had a missing finger on his left hand*
OOC:and...go!
As Jake faced off Todd, there was a shot from outside.
"If the killer's out there, then you can't be him!" Jake took a quick look at Todd's left hand. "And you have all your fingers. Look, I don't care who you are, I have work to do."
Hoping that the other man would have the decency not to shoot him in the back, he began sprinting down the stairs, reaching the ground just thirty seconds later. He began pushing through the crowd as he noticed the tall man fitting the description of the killer making his way towards the platform as well.
Ameriganastan
08-09-2008, 05:18
"damn it,i fucking knew it.i knew i shouldn't have listened to him,but no,i just had to taunt this crazy fuck.god." *the man put on a panicked face and started pointing left* "guards?! guards! he went that way!" *3 oh his guards ran off, looking for the man they had just walked past.a few silenced bullets took care of the 3 that were left* "hello your lordship.i wont bother you with formalatiys and get right to it.your a psychotic despot, and I'm the man who is going to kill you.any last words?"
While the guards were easily fooled, Jake recognized the man from his description. The killer seemed close to executing the politician so Jake began moving through the crowd even more aggressively, pushing people to the ground if they stood in his way. Finally, he was within less than a meter of the platform. He drew his MP7 and set it to automatic fire before jumping onto the stage and pointing his gun at the killer.
Ameriganastan
08-09-2008, 05:31
*he took notice of the man approaching the stage.and took notice of his gun.thinking for a breif moment,he jumped off the stage and tryed to lose him in the crowd, firing a few bullets at him as he did*
OOC: Generally, we just post actions normally (without asterisks) like in a book while dialogue is in quotes and on a separate line.
IC: James hurried after the killer, his heigh making him an easy mark. The man's aim was severely impacted since he was trying to run and shoot at the same time, but one shot still managed to graze Jake shoulder, causing him to curse and utterly ruining his suit jacket.
Jake realized he had to pursue the killer until they were out of the crowd and he had a clear shot. Of course, he also had to avoid getting shot again.
Ameriganastan
08-09-2008, 05:59
he turned and tryed to aim again, but the people were starting to calm...and starting to realize he was the shooter.knowing he couldn't take on a whole crowd of Lowery's crazed followers,he made haste to a back alley and started up a fire escape "damn it.i knew that bastard was gonna get extra security"
The man had been a breeze to follow as he was at least a couple inches taller than almost everyone there and Jake soon found himself alone in an alley with him. The killer was climbing the ladder, making him an easy shot, but with a higher bounty on the line, Jake didn't want to kill him. Praying that he still had spec ops-worthy aim, he toggled the fire selector on his MP7 and fired a single shot at the man's hand, hoping the shock would send him tumbling to the ground.
Ameriganastan
08-09-2008, 06:24
the bullet went straight through is hand, sending him falling down the ladder.somehow he landed on his feet and took aim at the man hunting him "stay back bounty hunter.i know I'm always worth more alive" he pointed his gun at his own head "now stay there and don't follow me" he slowly backed out of the alleyway and headed north

In the commotion Vallis had taken the time to move around and soon found himself on the third story of a building just behind the podium. His Barret was mounted on a table and he watched as the man had attempted to climb a ladder, got his hand shot, and was now threatening to shoot himself. Vallis wouldn't exactely call that clever. Either way one could rake in millions because of the man. He took aim for the man's knee as his sniper's training took over and he started to control his breathing even more. He aimed straight for the man's left knee, caught himself at the peak of his breath, and fired.
A .50 caliber round flew through the air for the man's knee, a definate disabling manuever if it hit and most likely lethal if it hit him anywhere above the waist.
OOC: Boy, thanks for the help. Maybe I'll give you a couple bucks to replace that bullet. =P That is, if you don't get the crazy idea that you deserve the bounty and I have to set your straight.

as he made his way up the road, the bullet passed through his thigh, sending him down to the pavement. "god damn it.this isn't how this was supposed to happen.damned bounty hunters.i knew i should have gone with the suicide bomber plan.no money if there wasn't a body" he slinked behind a car and pulled a mac 10 out of his shirt "come get me you bastards"
OOC: You probably wouldn't have much of a thigh left with that .50 man. Also, you're welcome Zinaire.
Vallis watched as the man crawled behind a car and took aim, firing a round near him and watched as the round tore through the trunk. By the looks of the hole though, he hadn't hit the man. He then moved his scope to the man who had shot him through the hand and watched what he would do.
OOC: Damn, go to sleep and get left behind. lol
Tod was surprised, but then again, he wasn't. He let the other man sprint away and then ran back up into his sniper area. He searched the area and saw someone running away from the stage where the wounded lord was and firing shots and got worried. He set off his preplanted smoke bombs around the stage to hide the stage itself from a shooter but allowed those on the stage to help the lord away. He then scoped around and saw the man he had just faced off with chasing who he assumed was the shooter and all of a sudden another shot rang out and the shooter dropped. The shooter slid behind a car and pulled out a weapon, but he was hiding from the other sniper, not him. Tod lined up a shot and fired a round at the weapon in the shooter's hand.
Tod lined up a shot and fired a round, knocking the weapon out of the shooter's hand.
OOC: That's more than a little godmodish. Let him claim his causalities, even if it is just the gun.
OOC: Fine, edited to say I shot at the gun. You really don't have to be so mean about it. People make mistakes. Chill

"crap, crap, crap" he knew he was in trouble.two or three snipers,a mangled leg,a wounded hand, and 1 mac 10 with 2 clips of ammo left.he thought furiously and finally settled on his desperation move.laying flat on his back,he slid under the car and took aim at the gas tank "i may have failed, but I"m gonna make sure you bastards don't get a cent from this.viva revolution!" he sprayed the tank with bullets, sending the car up in flames in a large explosion
Even though he had remained in the alley, the force of the explosion pushed Jake backwards against a wall.
Once the flames had died down slightly, he moved towards the burning car, seeing if he could find any proof of the kill and trying to avoid unpredictable snipers.
OOC: Hate to stab you in the back but...
Vallis took aim for the man's knee.
"The money's mine." He said coldly, obviously to himself.
He took aim, rested on the trigger, caught himself at the top of his breath, and squeezed off a round. The .50 caliber round flew from the barrel as the rifle kicked against his shoulder. The round went for his knee at phenomonal speeds.

OOC: Wow, I have a lot to catch up on.
IC: Tyrone walked down a dark road, armed only with his P-90 in hand.
OOC:...business is business.
OOC: Sorry luv, but there's a reason cops don't use Barretts for anti-personnel sniping (well, the main reason is that the bullet could go through a HT and kill the hostage) and that's because they're a military rifle, built for range (and power) at the expense of accuracy. So while an M82 is fine for stopping a truck or punching through a large, armored target like an APC, it's probably not the best choice for taking someone out at the kneecap (try a PSG-9 for that).
IC: A bullet came frighteningly close to Jake and hit the wall behind him with frightening power. As he dove for cover behind the thickest thing he could find (a hopefully full dumpster) he made a mental note never again to bring an MP7 to a sniper party. On the bright side, he was the only one on the ground, and as long as he didn't get shot, he would be the one to recover the body...or what was left of it.

OOC: Here's a little lesson in Physics. If you fire rounds into a gas tank, it won't explode because there is no oxygen to ignite. You would have to open the gas cap or something first before the tank would have enough oxygen to create a spark, therefore the fuel would not ignite. And for that matter, only the gas form of fuel would burn. The liquid itself is unflammable until it has evaporated so most of what would be in the tank would be liquid. Of course, you could poke some holes with bullets first and let it drain, but by the time there was enough oxygen, there wouldn't be enough gas to explode. lol. But that's ok. I like the hollywood movie style anyways. :D
IC:
Tod blinked against the blinding flash of the explosion and covered his eyes. He then saw heard a bullet fired and saw a flash of light in a building and saw a bullet nearly hit Jake. He quickly sighted in on the other sniper and smiled. Idiot. He gave his position around. He must be another killer. The one I squared up against already obviously wasn't. He lined his crosshairs up on the barely visable sniper and fired three rounds in close succession. His sniper rifle wasn't bolt action and could infact sustain fully automatic fire if neccesary, but Tod didn't feel like sending to many bullets out. As soon as he fired he backed off and went a few floors up to take up a new position at a different height and angle from his original spot.

OOC: I recalled something about shooting gas tanks not working, but considering that I've had a grand total of three physics classes so far, I didn't feel at liberty to correct anyone. I'm fine with the movie version too though...
OOC: Yeah, thats why in real life what you would do is shoot a hole through the top of the tank and then fire another bullet into it to hopefully set it off.
OOC: Also, would you all mind giving a quick recap of where your characters are? It's getting kind of confusing, especially since the snipers seem to have like the entire area within their sight(s).
Jake, for the record, is behind a dumpster in an alley a ways (probably a couple blocks) away from the stage. The body (or bits of it) of the killer is more or less right outside the alley.
OOC: Tod is in a high rise type of building that does have a rather good vantage point and is to the left of the stage. He can move along the floor to see down different alleys and streets and such.

OOC:i just kinda settled on the whole explosion thing because i always wind up writing myself into a corner with these things.
OOC: My man is across the street from the car and Jake's dumpster. If one were at the stage's podium I'd be to that person's right at an angle.
Vallis ducked down as the bullets thudded in to the window frame around him. So he had been spotted? The sniper had most definately relocated, unless he was stupid, and probably thought he was pretty clever. Unfortunately for him he was going against a trained counter-sniper, somebody trained to snipe other snipers. He slowly crawled along the floor, staying low until he was completely out of the door. Once he had done this he ascended to the top floor and kicked in a door where there was an almost empty kitchen save for a table and a frigde. He set his rifle on the table, a bit back from the window, and began scanning the building opposite him. Then he found his attacker. So he had relocated, somewhat smart man.
He took aim, steadied himself, zoomed in on the man's firing arm, caught at the top of his breath, and slowly squeezed the trigger. The rifle kicked in to his shoulder and the round was on it's way.
Tod started scanning the windows of the building he had just shot into. He had seen the other get up and move but couldn't tell if he had scored a hit or not. He started moving his scope from room to room, frantically trying to find the other sniper. He scrolled past one window and started moving on to another when he did a quick double take. There he was! Setting up in some sort of kitchen...and aiming directly for him! Damn! Tod thought and rolled out of the other sniper's line of sight just fast enough to avoid the round that came shattering through the window. What the hell was going on? How many shooters were there? He would need an ally if any sort of effective action was going to be taken. He didn't risk peering out any nearby windows and instead did a combat roll through the room and into the hall where he quickly bolted down the stairs and out the back of the building before doubling back and heading towards Jake's dumbster. He didn't know who Jake was, but he was Tod's only chance to make any sense out of this. He rounded a corner and saw Jake huddled behind a dumbster trying to stay out of sight of the sniper. "Psst! Hey Mr. Policeman! Over here!" he whispered, trying to get his attention without scaring him.
Jake swung around, his gun pointing at Tod.
"Oh. You again. What do you want?"
Jake wasn't sure who this guy was or what he wanted, but at this point, anyone that hadn't shot him on sight (especially when they had amble chances) seemed like a better ally than anyone else in the immediate area.
OOC: Not much else my character can really do in this specific area. Also, Mt. ID, I had crawled, not stand. Anyways...
Vallis smirked, he was done here...or at least for now. He set the Barret on the ground and pulled a small charge of C4 from his vest which he set on the rifle: no fingerprints. He stepped outside the room and bolted for the side opposite the podium and the other sniper where he found a fire-escape and descended to the alley below. When he got down, he pulled out a detonator and heard the explosion from the nearly empty apartment room. He then headed away, taking the alleys to avoid being seen as he pulled a Desert Eagle from his vest for protection.
OOC: Same difference. lol
"I'm one of the lords...uh...unoffical bodyguards. My name is Tod, but don't try looking that up. You won't find me. I was told that if I could keep the lord alive and hunt down these terrorists, then I would be well payed. And you are?" Tod said, resisting his urge to duck back around the corner since a gun was being pointed at him. He needed information first.
He then headed away, taking the alleys to avoid being seen as he pulled a Desert Eagle from his vest for protection.
OOC: You really like detrimentally large calibers, don't you?
IC: Jake lowered his gun cautiously.
"I'm Jake, think of me as a private investigator with a certain amount of liberty. Now how can I help you?"
OOC: Chill Zinaire. lol. You don't have to criticize every little thing someone does. Besides, a Desert Eagle is a pretty good weapon, even if it is large
OOC: Chill Zinaire. lol. You don't have to criticize every little thing someone does. Besides, a Desert Eagle is a pretty good weapon, even if it is large
OOC: It's highly impractical: heavy, large, and kicks like a mule.
OOC: Well, since my dude has no carbine, assault rifle, smg, or other such weapon that he could feasibly carry with the Barret, he simply uses an extremely powerful pistol. At least I didn't pull a Dirty Harry with a .44 revolver. Also, don't you guys think you'd notice an explosion across the street?
OOC: True, but for a sniper, all you need is one shot. If you have a high calliber weapon that is accurate but has a low firing rate, that is much better than having a weapon that can fire bullets like candy and not be able to hit the broadside of a barn.
OOC: The Barret is an accurate rifle though.
OOC: I was talking handguns. lol

OOC: Generally though, range, power and accuracy are all trade-offs. There's no way you can have a weapon which scores extremely well in all three areas. The M82 is about as good as you get with power, and it has the range you'd expect from a military rifle, but it compromises accuracy. Something like the PSG-9, on the other hand, has less power (but can still drop someone with a good shot), and a shorter range (since it's for police) but is highly accurate.
OOC: *Ahem*, explosion across the street people?
OOC: Ga! i'm talking handguns. lol. With a eagle, you take careful aim before puling the trigger because it has one hell of a backlash. If you aim right, you will drop ur target. On the other hand, take a 9mm, and even if u hit the target, they could get up and keep coming after u.

OOC: That's why you use .40 S&W and fire a couple shots at once. No matter how you look at it, the Deagle is not a practical gun.
Oh, and I made an IC post way up at the top of the page.
OOC: So you did. I didn't notice the IC. lol
IC:
"I'm trying to figure out what the hell is going on here. There was one shooter on the ground that blew himself up, and then what appeard to be another sniper in a building. If i'm not mistaken, he had something to do with that explosion we just heard."
"I was on the ground, and that guy who blew himself up was definitely the killer– he was missing a finger. Now, if I'm not mistaken, we're in the same business, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were more like us around here– they would be the ones shooting at us."
"Ah. That would make sense. What do you say to working together to catch these people? It'll mean we both get a bit less of what we would normally, but we would have a much higher chance of succeding and we wouldn't be constanly trying to kill each other."
"We're not going to get jack shit now that the killer's just a bunch of scraps littered across the neighborhood. How exactly are we going to get proof of the kill?"
"Well first off, all we need is a single body part that can be identified as his and the bounty is ours. Plus, who is to say he is the only killer? People like that don't come in singles. There is bound to be more of them. And with a bounty on each killer, the money just keeps racking up."
"They never said anything about partners. And quite frankly, I'm not scurrying around looking for some guy's left hand while there's still god knows how many snipers up there who want the money just as bad as us. Let's deal with them first, then find proof of the kill."
"Works for me. Which building should we check first? Or if you want I could just knock a few down and let that get their attention."
Jake pointed across the street. "Let's start there. We have to keep an eye on the remains too though, otherwise someone else could find what we need while we're up sniper hunting."
"No worries about that." Tod said and taking some trip wires and other sensors and a few canisters of knock out gas out of his vest, he sprinted over the the remains and placed a cordon around the car exploded car. He then sprinted back to Jake and smiled. "Anyone goes near that before us, they'll be in for a surprise. Plus I put a Popper on there that will go off if anyone comes near so we can hear it." A Popper was one of Tod's personal inventions. It is pretty self explanatory. It isn't dangerous except to ones ears. It creates an extrememly loud noise when the pin is pulled and is extremely hard to defuse.
Jake couldn't help but smile at the booby trap.
"I don't suppose you have anything besides that sniper rifle, do you?"
Tod pulled out a Heckler & Koch Mark 23 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heckler_%26_Koch_Mark_23_Mod_0) and smiled. "Will this work?"
"That's do just fine. I'll take point. Once I've cleared the entrance area, come across."
Ducking low, Jake dashed across the street and pressed himself against the wall of the building. After several moments he shuffled along the wall to the door and kicked it open, holding his MP7 at the ready. He confirmed that the immediate entrance was clear and motioned for Tod to follow.
OOC: Yeah, my character's just going to leave being as Mt. Id's character has all sorts of inventions that he has somehow made perfect and "extremely hard to defuse" with no apparent weaknesses and with you on his side there is pretty much no way for an RPer of my skill to really get the bounty.
OOC: Chill Ursava. Its just a little noise maker. Nothing big. Sheesh. It's basically nothing more than the generic Flash bomb just minus the light. Think of it as a grenade. Once the pin is pulled, that thing is going off unless its a dud.
IC: Tod ran across behind Jake and stopped behind him, keeping an eye to their rear with his gun at the ready.
OOC: I'm talking about the grenade that you could remote-detonate, the set-up of knockout gas, and the "popper" making it impossible for any other bounty-hunter, unless good at disarming things while being knocked out by gas (or with a gas-mask), unable to get to the bounty what-so-ever. I'm calm, and I'm trying to be as calm as possible while telling you my opinion. Anyways, I guess I'll do a few IC posts of him extracting as to not choke this with OOC-chatter.
OOC: I was actually saying that just the popper was hard to defuse. The grenade thing was just a simple remotely set off bomb. those are everywhere. If you want to try to take out the knock out gas, all you have to do is either remove the canisters and chuck them or avoid the trip wires. But if you do set off a wire, the popper will go off.
OOC: I've got to admit, Tod must be carrying a lot of weight to have all these explosives in addition to his rifle.
OOC:Ga! they're mostly grenade like. Each one only weighs a little over a pound.
OOC: "A little over a pound" adds up. Also, are they hidden or not? The wires I mean. I'll make an IC post once I know, and even then it may just be my guy leaving or getting ready to leave.
OOC: The wires aren't hidden persay, but they're extremely thin so they're hard to see. And so far i've used three grenade like items. My guy has a usual complement of 6. That's not so much seeing as how he dosn't have to carry an army field pack around that adds 50 pounds.
OOC: True enough.
IC:
Vallis looked back at the apartment and then over at a nearby car. It was a decent distance away from where he planned so he approached the car and pulled another small block of C4 from his vest. He planted it to the underside and then proceeded to go back through the alleys a good block away before he detonated the car. Afterwards he headed in the opposite direction of the car, getting ready to extract from the country, or get "out-country" as he called it.
OOC: You...blew up a car? for what reason?
IC: "What was that explosion?"
EDIT: *Doh* Car was a distraction. lol
OOC: I pretty much stated it without stating it, a distraction from where my man is actually going.

Greetings. If you are seeing this video, then you have survived your recent job oppourtunity in Ameriganastan. I am Grey 92 a member of Sarrowquand's Grey Bureaucracy and I have a new job for you all; The Department Of Ocean Management has recently uncovered a plot that indicates that a rogue departmet of the bureaucracy will be attempting to smuggle a quantity of enriched uranium into the country. We have established that this rogue bureau has assets in the Bureau of Observation and is attempting to bring this material into Sarrowquand under the cover of a legitimate intelligence operation.
The uranium is going to enter Sarrowquand by one of three possible routes. It will either arrive on the Dominion freighter "Kindling", the Natzailey freighter "Wild Child" or a Dominion Submarine. We also know that the uranium will arrive via the port town of New Sanctuary in the north-west province of Uranium Flats and will be difficult to track once it leaves the port. Given the corruption involved in this case we are unwilling to trust our own law enforcement with the recovery of this material and are willing to pay 15,000,000 Iron Nuggets, or 10,000,000 USD plus expenses to the bounty hunter or coalition of bounty hunters that brings the material to our designated contact.
For those of you interested passage into Sarrowquad has been arranged via a DoSA flight from Ameriganastan to Sarrowquand City International Airport and from there two connecting flights will take you to a warden airport in the Rose Wood reservation 5 miles south of New Sanctuary where you can begin your job.
We hope that we can rely on your help in ending this dangerous threat."
