In a shocking move last night the Northstar Corporation and the Harris Financial Group merged to form the Harris-Northstar Corporation. Having merged these two national giants now appear too be a true Mega-Corporation, with significant financial power to outspend several countries. This move had been completely unexpected, but in an increasingly unstable world economy such mergers may become increasingly common as companies struggle to remain solvent.

The combined worth of Harris Northstar is currently unknown, but considering that Harris owns the three biggest banks in Belschaft, and that Northstar has achieved domination in the national mining and heavy manufacturing industries, it will be considerable, with the two companies having an estimated annual turnover of 80 billion dollars. It is currently unknown exactly how the new corporation will be organized, however it is believed that Joseph Harris, the head of HFG, will become the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Harris-Northstar.

It is believed that the corporation will make an official statement later today.

Just two hours ago an official statement was released by Harris-Northstar announcing the finalisation of their merger/ It has now been confirmed that Joseph Harris is to become the Chairman of the Board of Directors, while James Rathbone, the Majority shareholder in the Northstar Corporation will become CEO of the company. The two men combined will hold just over 60% of the shares in the corporation, and met today to sign all remaining paperwork.

The official statement issued by Harris-Northstar revealed little beyond officially announcing their intention to begin expanded the new company, and a desire to work together to advance their long term world goals. This lack of information has led KCRG to believe another statement of some kind. Will be issued tomorrow.

The Harris-Northstar Corporation would like to officially announce its existence to the world. Formed through the Merger of the Harris Financial Group and the Northstar Corporation, we are now the single largest employer in Belschaft. However we have no intention of stopping there. Our Eisland province is a newly acquired territory in the north. It has an unlimited supply of cheap energy from hydroelectricity and geothermal power, but it's infrastructure is quite poor, preventing a effective use of the resources. We are currently looking for investors in the Eisland Development Project, which will build up the necessary industry and infrastructure. A number of large corporations have already invested, but we are currently lacking 12.5 billion reichmarks. If the Harris-Northstar Corporation invest that amount in the Project, we can grant you a monopoly on the aluminium industry in the province. Aluminium production is, as you probably know, very energy consuming, but with cheap geothermal and hydroelectric power the costs can be lowered substantially. As the geology of Eisland is very unique, this would allow you to produce some of the cheapest aluminium products in the world.

Harris-Northstar is greatly intrested in this proposistion. We would like to enquire as to the the value of the reichmark in USD, and also would be intrested to know how much land is available in Eisland province, s cheap unlimited energy is a very usefull resource. If enogh land is available we would like to construct an entire factorum complex there, producing numerous products and refining minerals we are in the process of aquiring from Razorl.

As only about 21,000 square kilometers have been colonised, approximately 82,000 square kilometers remain. However, infrastructure in these areas is extremely primitive, so expect 2-4 years before production can start. Prices can be negotiated.

By our maths that comes too 22.75 billion USD, wich is, to put it bluntly, a considerable amount. What would we receive in return for providing that amount?

As we stated earlier, you would get a monopoly on aluminium production in the province. The unique geology would give you access to cheap energy, which would make it possible for you to produce extremely cheap aluminium products. Aluminium is today used in everything from aircraft and automobiles to paint, so we would calculate a return of your investments in less than four years from the production start. You will, theoretically, be able to dominate the aluminium market in the same way the Griffincrest Corporation does the oil market.

Having considered the pros and cons of this proposal Harris-Northstar is pleased to accept, and will be happy to provide 22.75 billion USD needed for the project. However we would like to request that as part of the deal a large area of un colanised land is set aside for our use, fre of charge. We bellieve this to be entirely reasonable as part of the deal.
