Every nation has their one ship that is the pride of their navy, the epitome of their technology, the baddest toy on the block. Until now, there has not been a way to prove it without risking the destruction of your pride and joy in battle.

The Intergalatic Trade Hub (ITH) is pleased to announce the Second Flagship Tournament.

We would like to organize several nations to battle it out with their flagships. We will be using full wargame rules meaning everything will be done with targeting lasers, dummy warheads, and computer simulated superweapons. There will be no actual risk to any of the ships. Every weapon will be modified so it cannot do anything worse than, at most, a scratch in your paint. Defenses will be fully powered but all ordinances would be filled with marker gel and the ships will be sprayed with a clear coating (which we will also remove afterwards) that will react to the targeting lasers showing hits.

The Competition will be held at our Void Trading Station located just outside the Milky Way Galaxy. This will allow nearly unlimited space for those big babies to maneuver. The entire proceedings will be recorded and televised in each nation that participates.

All those nations who are interested in participating, please submit your single entry below. When I get enough participants I will begin the matches. Also, just for fun, there will be a massive free-for-all after the awards ceremony. An entry is not considered complete until the accompanying OOC post of the ship info is also done. The fight card will be filled out in the order the ships submission process is completed.

Outer Heaven wishes to enter a Flagship from one of our fleets for this competition. It's the Adriatic, a recent ship that features most of our up to date technology. Once entry is confirmed we'll supply full statistics, but at the moment all we can say is it'll be an unexpected entry, measuring at only eight hundred meters.

Despite the fact the Ultra Phoenix Battleship is still undefeated in competition (or real battle for that matter), The Imperial Vanguard of The Phoenix Militia would like to submit the Mega Phoenix Dreadnought, our latest and most powerful flagship. We look forward to the competition.

Feeling a warfortress would be over-powerful for this competition and indeed too dificult to modify the Dragona empier wishes to send the D.E.S. Atlantis, the flag ship of the Sca'uh division.

Through the gates of hell, the ACS Dong Qigong battleship reaches the strange universe where all civilizations compete for supremacy of their metaphorical phalluses with only one goal in mind: to show that size does not matter, for it has only six blocks and half of length and in its cavernous decks, our most correct Brothers of Physics prepare to attack fringe theories with the mighty power of solipsist skepticism, even in universes where they work.

The Alliance wishes to announce they will be sending in their highly experimental class into the contest, the Zeus Class Battleship with General Verneal as her commanding officer.

IC:we of the proud Ameriganastan naval forces wish to send our mighty flagship,the S.S. Lowery.commanded by our nations top commander,James Hestman.she is big and armed to the teeth.we will send her shortly.

Picking up on the announcement of such a competition, the Sertian Empire replies with an announcement that it would like to participate as well, giving a short description of one of their dreadnoughts including a list of its systems and the RPM of its canons.

Of course, given that the Sertian Empire's only presence seems to be in exploratory forces in the outer rim of the galaxy that are virtually unknown to anyone present, the announcement might come as a surprise.

This is an open event for FT nations that wish to join. The event will start once I get a full fight ticket of 16 entrants. Any others that apply after this will join the contestants in a grand event at the end where it is a free for all.

An entry is not considered complete until the stats for the ship is psted in the OOC Thread and I am filling the Card in the order the entrys are recieved. There will be no switching around so if you want to fight someone without actually risking anything other than your pride you can win your way to the fight.

I plan on holding this every year about the end of summer so if you don't win the bragging rights of having the "Best Flagship of 2008", you can join next year and get revenge for your loss.

"Have you ever walked home from Zeltros' Bar after a night out and seen those two Twi'leks standing outside measuring the length of their lekku, Master Durmas?" President Jarr Markin said after reading the interstellar invitation aloud from the monitor embedded in his kriin-wood desk. He leaned back in his soft leather chair and clasped his hands behind his head in a relaxed posture as he looked up at the robed Jedi sitting stoically in the chair in front of him.

"I have never been a patron of Zeltros' Bar, Mr. President," Toku Durmas replied apathetically, shaking his head slowly. "I presume there is a point to your question, however."

"This 'flagship tournament' reminds me of that," Markin said with a sigh. "A group of political leaders measuring the lengths of their various appendages in a superficial effort to make themselves feel somehow superior to their peers. 'Peeing up a wall' is another less pleasant metaphor that you might have heard of."

"I can assure you Mr. President that I have never vandalised a wall in such a manner either," Durmas said, his monotone voice changing pitch momentarily.

"What, you Jedi didn't pee up a wall while you were training?" Markin mocked.

"Absolutely not," Durmas said firmly. "Though I believe I understand the metaphor perfectly well."

"Oh," Markin shrugged, leaning forwards. "Anyway. I don't see why any sensible leader would waste valuable resources and money on such a pointless façade of testosterone-fuelled posturing."

"I see from that message that numerous politicians have, indeed, squandered resources on this event," Durmas pointed out.

"Well I'm sure that they are either dictators, or soon to be voted out of office," Markin said.

"I ponder perhaps if you believe the Hammer's Strike lacks the necessary teeth to prevail in such a challenge, Mr. President, and you feel somewhat deficient as a result," Durmas said. "This might explain your efforts to deride the participants in this manner."

"What?" Markin exclaimed. "The Hammerhead-class capital ship is the pinnacle of military technology!"

"Indeed," Durmas said. "Centuries ago, at least."

"They've been upgraded over time!" Markin protested the Jedi. "They could stand up to anything an enemy could throw at us."

Durmas, for the first time, adjusted his posture and even went so far as to adopt a grin on his face. "Mr. President, if you were not human I might believe you were attempting to measure the length of your lekku. I would be mistaken in such an assumption, I'm sure."

The only positions open at this point is for the slugfest after the contest where it is a free for all using full wargame systems so no actual damage happens.
