As we exclusively announced earlier this month, Lady Tara had announced plans to marry the Soviet Elect of the Soviet Systems, Ernesto Cheark. This has been touted as many as a culmination to Lady Tara's foreign policy." And by many others as a sure sign of madness, heresy and traitorous ideas. "The actual wedding ceremony has been scheduled for Friday this week. This was announced this morning by Lady Elizabeth, who was ecstatic about the whole affair." Truth be told, she did not really care. If anything, she was against it, but she didn't want to spoil the event for her mother. "We shall bring you news on the event as it happens, with special coverage on the day itself. This is Thomas Regal, TNN."

Tara Whyt sat in the throne room, with a number of the House leaders yelling at once.
"Please, gentlemen, please..." The yelling didn't stop, and she was in no mood for argument. "Quiet! Or it's a guillotine." The room fell deadly silent. "House Void?" A tall, pale man, with black hair and blacker eyes with white pupils, the unnerving average for Voidians, cleared his throat.
"As long as Kalism remains the True Faith, House Void has no objections to this matter." Tara nodded.
"There shall be no changes. I am myself a Kalist, if you remember Ordinator, and I have no intention of changing that fact. House Hlaau?" A man in a beige suit with a remarkably unremarkable face, the kind that blended into a crowd on it's own, spoke.
"House Hlaau welcomes the new influx of goods this will bring Lonun. However, we have some resentment of being tied by blood to a communist state."
"The Void is and ever shall be an empire, Jona. No ideology will corrupt that. House Whyt?"
"House Whyt supports you every step of the way, lady Tara. We welcome the new foreign relations."
"Excellent. And-" Before she even finished, the man in the body armor half-spoke, half-shouted;
"We object to this disgusting proposal! House Templar refuses to ever be associated with these... these pigs! We have seen first hand the brutality and murderous intent of all communists during the Boratnian occupation! By doing this, you simply open the doors to an invasion!" Tara sighed. House Void; Official bastards of Lonun.
"Ernesto-" "Stop calling him that! He is the Communist!" "Very well, the Communists shall have no control over the affairs of the country. He shall be emperor in name only. I shall still maintain full control."
"He will corrupt your mind with his filthy Red ideologies! You will be corrupted! A corrupted leader cannot lead their nation properly!"
"I have your... learned counsel to keep me in line, don't I? Now, you are dismissed." The Templar opened his mouth, before a cold "dismissed" came from one of the Kytaf. When all of the leaders had left the room, she slumped down into the throne and sighed. She really would have to do something about the Templars. They had the technology of the future, the aggression of a rhino pumped up and testosterone and cocaine and the minds of the Iron Curtain. A deadly mix. But, now was not a time for worry, she chided herself, but a time for celebration. She was to be married. This cheered her up slightly, but did not lessen the worry squatting in the back of her mind.

Ernesto was worrying with problems himself, his enemies in the System had latched onto this and would not let it go, commercials declaring Ernesto as a monarchy lover and not a pure Communist spread though all TV's, But he did not care, he loved Tara, Ernesto stood up and began looking for a suit to wear

Having addressed the houses to get their opinions (she could have left the Templar's out and guessed theirs) and having already set the plans for the actual ceremony in motion, she decided to try to clear her mind in the courtyard.
Big mistake.
Almost as soon as she stepped foot outside of the palace, interviewers from the four houses newspapers (the only non-government regulated news source in the empire) swarmed around her, outnumbering even the fearsome amount of guards. A torrent of voices washed over her, and she picked out a few as she backed away, surrounded by guards.
"Lady Tara! What do you say to the allegations that you have swapped allegiances and are now a supporter of the VTLF?"
"I say it's ridiculous! I'm the empress! Why would I support rebels who want me dead?"
"Lady Tara! What do you say to House Templar's threats of secession?"
"How many times have the Templars threatened this? And besides, under the treaty of the Saren Plateau, that makes them fair game. They might be headstrong, but they aren't stupid." She had made it inside, and the guards slammed the front doors and began dispersing the interviewers with the sight of their flamethrowers. She wandered around the palace for a few hours, before sitting down at her desk where an aide had laid down letters. She flicked through them, most non consequential or updates from Jona, thanking her for all the paperwork she had given him. Oh well, work before pleasure.

Zigana her well-crafted oak cane from beside her desk and stood up. The cane made the wincing in her leg much easier to bear. She didn't know why but occasionally those two old bullet-wounds still bothered her with pain that would make it hard to walk on some days and that would barely be audible to her senses on other days. She walked out of the Presidential Residence to an awaiting limousine and two matt-black SUVs. She then headed through the streets to the nearest airport where a private Leer jet was waiting for her to take her to Lady Tara's country where she planned to stay until the day of the wedding as was Ursavian wedding custom (coming for a week and leaving the day-of).

Ernesto was pacing back and forth, trying to get everything set up so he could leave the System and return without having been over thrown by corrupt power hungry men

Ernesto got this message and ran out of the Soviet Palace, and ran straight to the Moscowgrad Airport, he climbed onto his privet jet and yelled at the pilot, "Get me to the Void NOW!" The airplane took off 20 min later

The plane landed in the Void, and Ernesto ran out, looking for someone who might have been sent to take him to the palace, some one in the System told the Void media and there where hundreds of reporters, Ernesto ignored them all, just pushed them out of the way

Hunter was pleased by the response to his letter. As fast as his mecha-leg would allow he began prepairing. Instead of his useual ceramonial armor he picked out a long black robe and a matching tunic and pants for wearing on the day. He picked out an apropriate carnation and began to pack everything he'd need for the trip, including these items and set off for the imperial airship as ast as his leg would allow.

The limo/APC combination was waiting for him, and ferried him away to the palace, where another swarm of reporters awaited him. The guards pulled him through the doors and then slammed the behind him, leaving Ernesto in the silence of the palace, until Tara heard the commotion and came down the steps.
"Hello there Ernesto." She said, beaming.

"Tara!" Ernesto ran up to her and gave her a big huge, he was sweaty from all the running he did, but he was so happy to see her, "I got here as fast as I could"

Initially recoiling from the hug, she smiled. "It's good to see you too." Looking at him with wide eyes, she said "Kal! You did not have to hurry that much! Are you okay?"

Ernesto stopped to catch his breath, "Of course this run was nothing, you should have seen me during the Revolution...." Ernesto stopped, and looked into Tara's eyes, "You look lovely today"

"Rather well. One reporter in particular will learn not to annoy her." She laughed. "If things do spiral out of order in the System, you have my help, in whatever form you wish it to be."

"Actually, no. Three of the Houses have no problem with it, but House Templar, being xenophobes, see any foreign relations as a threat to national security. Especially a marriage." She shook her head. "They have the most guns and most men, but the other houses are pretty much run by House Void. They do not disagree with me, so hopefully that will hold the Templar's in line. They can be so idiotic when they need to be."

She laughed with him, before looking at the time which was showing on the bottom of the TV screen. It was almost midnight.
"I have to sleep at some point, I've been up since 5 am yesterday. I'm going to go to bed."

The jet came down on to one of the less reporter-filled airports and Zigana descended the steps. She was going to surprise Lady Tara with a call from one of her own airports. She signalled the team's radioman and he came over with a simple wireless phone which he handed over. Zigana dialed in a series of numbers and through a series of satalites was redirected to the right phone.

The White Shield members covered the windows and the two Genetics stood by the door, guarding it from the inside against any would-be intruders.

"Will do, ma'am. Have a good night." She hung up.

Tara woke up, momentarily puzzled by whose arms these where, before remembering, lifting them up and rolling out of their embrace. She yawned, put on another robe (this one exactly the same as the last but greener) and got up, heading for her office. Once more, there were some letters from Jona, one in particular detailing last night (she didn't want to know how he got most of his information) and also a note from Elizabeth.
Mum, Pres. of Ursava called. Call her back later on today, k? There was also a number scribbled down, presumably the apartment number of Saáry. She copied it down and then went about the rest of her buisness.
Later, about midday, when she thought the president would be awake (she was, after all, on holiday) she dialed the number into her phone, drumming her fingers on her desk as she waited for the call to connect.

A number of areas were blocked off, either by rubble or guards. One area in particular, however, was rather conspicuous. Protected by a huge wrought iron double gate and 20 Kytaf guards, it protected a stairwell which led down into the dark. Seeing Ernesto approach, they held out their hands.
"Sorry sir. Access denied."

The difference between it was that it didn't seem to have a power source or make any noise at all, in fact it was one sleek design it had no edges or curves just one almost continuous body. The aircraft hovered without noise above a landing site. A cyclinder appeared and dropped down from the aircraft as Josh walked out with 2 of his guards. His guards had no weapons just oddly shaped gauntlets.

Thomas, the Ambassador to Void Templar, was utterly disgusted.

"My lord, how could some Soviet win Tara's heart... in one night?"

Ernesto saw Tara at work and smiled, "And how is the Void doing this day my love"

If you really want the gauntlets I'm going to look the other way and wear a gas mask."
